"OMG my first time trying this place, and I will surely be trying it again. I ordered the Maxwell polish for lunch, and the turkey short ribs, sautéed spinach and sweet potatoes for dinner. Yes, I had all this delivered to me. My lunch was really good, but dinner was truly amazing!I just moved back to Chicago from Texas. They got Turkey Leg Hut, but it ain't got nothing on this place. I can't wait for my Texas friends to visit so I can introduce them to some good turkey soul food...I am a fan for life!!!!"
"This was our breakfast spot. Cozy midsize Resturant and bar located in the Loews hotel. No wait time during the week or Saturday. Avocado toast without kale or egg. I was glad I was able to order it to my liking. One morning it was served with everything but the bagel seasoning. Steak top with chimichurri, potatoes and eggs with side toast. Coffee cup was never empty. Edwin was very attentive on our first day. Young lady with peace on her name tag was also attentive."

Visit Restaurant Page"Great place to eat lunch. Lots of selection to choose from. I ordered the Kale and Squash salad. I absolutely love it. It's a nice big bowl of greens, squash, fried onion, and I added steak and pecans. It's tossed in a very good dressing. Love it. The place is big, clean and roomy, with big open windows. Also there is outdoor patio seating with a nice large screen tv. There are a lot of TVs inside as well. The waiter is very nice, friendly, and attentive. Never had to ask him to fill my water."
"If you are going to an event at the United Center - this is the place to go to grab pre-event dinner and drinks! 10/10 would recommend. We thought we wouldn't be able to get a table before a weekday Chicago Bulls game but, we were (thankfully) wrong. We were seated immediately at a lovely booth. One side of the restaurant that had a large bar was not in-use. The other bar space was open and had bar seating available. The crowd was not boisterous or obnoxious which I appreciated. Serve was very fast and friendly. They were hustling! The cheese curds hit the spot although the cheese pull wasn't a nice long pull like in Wisconsin ;) The salad was huge and I wasn't able to finish it. My Fiancé ordered a hamburger with fries and also wasn't able to finish the meal which is very unlike us. We are always in the clean plate club. While dining we noticed a shuttle bus pull up to the front of the tavern. We asked our server what that was all about. Turns out, tavern patrons are able to take the complimentary shuttle to and from the United Center! The shuttle runs every few mins to and from the stadium. This was a very pleasant surprise especially because we planned to walk to the stadium and the forecast was calling for rain. We had zero issues with the driver remembering us when we grabbed the shuttle after the game. While this service is free, tips are appreciated."
"If you are in the mood for some tasty eats and light drinks, then this is your place. My party of three ventured her after grabbing cocktails at a nearby bar. I am glad we did because the cocktails at this place are a little pricy. The food was amazing! We order the La manche pasta, octopus, fish, scallops, and steak. Everything was delicious, although I was a little disappointed with the scallops. You paid almost $30 for 3 scallops and some lettuce on a plate. If you are hungry or sharing with more than 3 people, do not get this dish! I would go back for the grilled octopus. It was my favorite."
"This is a really late review, so I'm sure what I have to say echoes so many people's opinions. It was a bit of a trek getting to Roister due to all the construction happening on their street back then. But the food, the vibe, and the top notch service was all worth it.The food was sublime. The dishes were made of ingredients that one would never think could complement each other, but their magical kitchen performs feats of culinary alchemy. Pasta with clams and mint? A chocolate bar made with duck fat? And those oysters that haunt my dreams to this day...I'll never be the same after that meal. When my hubby expressed how big a fan he was of Grant Achatz, the head chef invited him into the kitchen to observe their operations. So he stood there as they prepared dinner for all the diners. That experience is something that he talks about to this day.All in all, we had a wonderful time at Roister, and we will definitely come back to Chicago and plan our vacation around this restaurant. Their food and kindness left lasting memories for our family."
"My wife and I took a river cruise in Chicago and she wanted to dine at one of the restaurants along the river afterward. She looked on yelp for one that we might be able to afford and judging by yelp's dollar signs, this restaurant was one of the few. We walked quite a ways to get here, but it was worth it. We sat outside because the moon was full and the weather was perfect. We were seated immediately along the river. The views were amazing, even at night. We were given water and menus. Our waiters were extremely friendly and thoughtful. My wife requested sliders and a shrimp appetizer. We also requested some drinks. My drink of choice was an amaretto sour, which was just okay. I think it was a little unbalanced as I didn't taste much amaretto. It was still yummy, however.A little while later, the sliders arrived. They had filet mignon on them and they were delicious. The shrimp appetizer was delicious and bold tasting at first, but I found myself getting tired of the flavor by the time we were done eating it. Overall, our visit was excellent. Great food, great service, great views, and decent prices."
"Very very old style Mexican place. This is the place that your parents would bring you on a random Saturday evening. The interior is nothing special so don't go for the vibes. The food portion is great but it also matches the price that you pay. I got a pina colada with alcohol and it was delicious. I def felt the alcohol! I also ordered the Milanese. It was very thin and fried. I enjoyed the rice and beans that came with my order. I would also mention that this place doesn't offer chips and dips when you walk in. My coworker ordered a drink as well and the steak with mole something. I don't remember the name of it but her plate was $30 alone."
"Saturday brunch at AceBounce is the place to be! Lemme telllll you - I cane here and definitely had a ball. Brunch here is not your standard boring get drunk off bottomless and go home. Nope! Here, you can get drunk, while eating all you can eat, playing ping pong and singing karaoke. Now you don't have to do it all at once (but if you do, that's your business. Mmmkay!) Food: I would rate the food a 8/10 but what can you expect when they're dishing out massive amounts of food to feed adults while they're drinking? It's such a large variety of food so if you don't care for something, trust there is something else that will satisfy your stomach needs. They also serve Bellinis, mimosas and bloody Mary's unlimited and refill your cup for you. There's even a cute Bloody Mary station to build your own! Service/ staff: top tier. I pray Christee reads this because sis did get thaaaang to make sure my girls and I were out of our seats. AceBounce wants you to be active and engage and meet new people. Like don't come to look cute (but again if you do that's your business). I would say come to have fun and show someone a good time! There's no doubt about it that I'll be returning with a larger group of people. $60/pp is well worth it."
"My friends and I visited this place on a Memorial Day long weekend for some drinks. We ordered a Cava during happy hour, which was shared by four people. The place has an impressive selection of wines from different countries! I cannot comment on the food as we didn't try any, but the bottle of wine was definitely good. The place has a nice patio and indoor space as well. The server was quite friendly; overall, it had a good vibe. I would try this place again if I'm in the neighborhood!"
"Visited this local establishment before a theater evening. I sat at the bar and was promptly helped. I wavered between fish or chicken. I once had the chicken sandwich delivered to a houseparty. Anyhoo, I remember that being good but can't tell you much more about that selection. The bartender recommended I try the fish sandwich. I was good with that selection. In addition to the sandwich which came out within 10 minutes, I grabbed some fries and $3 cheap beer. Sandwich was hearty and fresh. Fries were hot and plentiful. I enjoyed both. I had leftover fries that my theater mate ate on the way to the play. I was fan of this sandwich but on my next go around, will request additional pickles and sauce on the side. All in all meal was good but things sure are getting expensive. Cost me $27 with tip for fish sandwich, fries and beer. Tip: fries come with aioli but charged for ketchup so ask for swap if aioli is not your thing."
"I swear all the Beatrix locations are the same - mid food with spacy service. Some ingredients weren't listed in the menu (namely a VERY garlicky condiment) and my sandwich wasn't warm at all. Our server had to be asked several times for simple things. If you're at Northwestern, the food here is better than hospital - but not by much. Pass."

This hole in the wall spot seems to be pretty popular, but the food is just ok. The wait time was about 20 mins and there were just two other people in the restaurant when I was there. I got the Thanksgiving platter, I believe, which is composed of sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and turkey leg. The turkey leg was a bit undercooked as it still had a bit of a rough chew on it. The sides were ok, but it was nothin to rave about. I decided to get the Jamaican jerk wrap and I honestly should have just stayed with the platter, but I was eating with my eyes. The chicken tasted spoiled, was messy, and had a fishy taste to it. I threw it out after I spat out after my first bite. Wouldn't go here again.

This review is only for the bar which is located in the lobby of the Loews. Atmosphere is great but can get loud. Service attentive. They make a great Manhattan. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the burger was.

Alright, so I'm not exactly what you'd call a sports bar aficionado, but all my buddies are crazy about The Fifty/50. One night, feeling a bit adventurous (thanks to some green inspiration), I decided to tag along. And let me tell you, it's not your typical sports bar vibe - more like a laid-back, updated neighborhood hangout. We strolled in on a quiet night, got seated right away, and then, jackpot - they were doing bottomless wings. Now, usually, the word "bottomless" raises an eyebrow, but these wings? Absolute game-changers. No kidding. And the waffle fries? I'm convinced they're sprinkled with some kind of magical seasoning and fried in oil from another dimension. Seriously, I'm not easily impressed by fries, but these were next level. But, and there's always a but, the service was on the slower side. And I mean, it wasn't busy - I'll say it again, NOT busy. Our server acted like taking our orders was the most tedious task on the planet. Chicago service, it's like playing the lottery - this time, we didn't win. Now, let's get back to the good stuff. The Fifty/50 is the kind of neighborhood bar you want in your life. The food? Explosively good. Those wings and waffle fries might just be worth dealing with a server who's moving at a glacial pace. Casual vibes all around, making it the perfect spot to kick back, enjoy some top-notch bar cuisine, and, if you're lucky, catch a game on the side. So, in a nutshell, if you're down for a chill atmosphere, stellar wings, and waffle fries that'll make your taste buds dance, The Fifty/50 is your spot. Just be prepared for the possibility of service that's a bit more tortoise than hare.

We stopped by here Saturday evening at 745. I made a resy because this area is always busy. We requested the main dining area, but it was so nice outside that we requested an outside table, and we were able to be accommodated fairly quickly. We ordered the Ceasar salad, filet, oyster, & the short rib dinner. We had a variety of drinks too that were good as well. We received our food quickly. Everything was fresh and hot, too. Our server was pretty attentive. The vibe and ambiance was very chill and relaxed. I enjoyed myself, and I'd definitely return. The menu isn't that exciting, but the food was GOOD!

This is my 3?4th? Time back and Roister never disappoints. Their chicken is so crispy, cooked to perfection. My best friend comes to Chicago just for Roister's chicken and waffles, not for me. Service is always so pleasant and ambiance is relaxed but not loud. Perfect brunch spot!

Had a reservation for an event. Service was great it did take a little but I wasn't surprised as there was 12 people in our group. Drinks were good, I got a non alcoholic mule and it had great flavors. Appetizer we got the caesar salad, the dressing was good and the croutons all of it went well. Perfect to share with two or even three people. The salad was chopped up into fine pieces which was kind of annoying to eat. Entree wise I got the steak frites. I made a mistake ordering medium well instead of medium rare. I didn't check was steak was being used and seemed to be flank. It was very tough it hurt my jaw chewing it. It was too late to ask for a different piece and just didn't want to make a scene. Flavors were there though but wow it was super tough. Fries on the plate were as hard as a rock. 85% we're and the rest you had to find soft ones. Also ordered the ribeye, flavoring was good and it was cooked well. No complaints. Overall I'd come back during the summer to sit outside and maybe try another dish

Dropped in on a random Monday evening. Great service. Live music. Food was served quickly and portions were large. Looking forward to making this a regular visit. Menu photos attached are as of July 2024.
Visit Restaurant Page"What a lovely establishment. I came for dinner on a Thursday night after long day at technology conference. Lucky for me the dinner was a treat by the tech company. This review is based on private service in the rear room. Our party was less than 30. We had two tables and a set 4-course menu. The cocktail and wine menu was expansive here. I ordered a Cosmo and a French 75. Both were great. To accompany my meal, I also had a delightful red wine (Zin). For food we had a bread assortment which was divine. That pretzel bread with goat cheese butter was to dream for. For our second course there was a great burnt watermelon feta tomato salad....yummy. Additionally, there was a a delicious side dish served with main dish. I opted for the flat iron steak which paired nicely with the roasted carrots. I ate all my steak, it was so tender. The 4th course was also great. We had an option for a stone fruit (peaches) dessert and flourless chocolate cake. I picked the flourless cake and it was good but the stone fruit dessert was much better. All-in-all a very great dinner. Ambiance and service were prime here. Our server was so great. I wish I knew his name as he was funny and kept the drinks flowing. Cherry on top of the food it that there is a free parking lot across the street. I will be back."
"If you don't come for anything else, please come for the breakfast potatoes and vibes. I came solo on a weekday afternoon for brunch. There was only one other table of people there when I stopped by, but this place may get more traffic on the weekends. The space is fairly large and can fit both smaller groups and larger ones. I didn't bring my laptop when I came by, but I could totally see myself coming back on a weekday to be productive. I ordered the cajun omelet and breakfast potatoes. The omelet was the perfect size and the ingredients tasted fresh. The breakfast potatoes are different from most others I've had and I really enjoyed them. Great Logan Square area daytime place!"
"I've been going here for a little while now, so I guess I can be considered a regular at this point. I'm writing this review now because I feel like their service and quality are high and consistent. I always love finding a great traditional American breakfast place I can frequent. On this trip, I had the country fried chicken with sausage gravy, eggs, pancakes, and grits on the side. The chicken was seasoned very nicely and perfectly cooked to keep it juicy and tender. Their sausage gravy is the best and closest I have had in Chicago, matching what I ate from my southern hometown. The grits and eggs were cooked appropriately as well. Finally, the pancakes were light and fluffy, and they are a side option for most meals on the menu. Other great menu choices are biscuits and gravy, skillets, and waffles. Overall, I will continue to frequent this establishment and can only advise others to do so as well."
"Absolutely no better place in Chicago for champagne than Pops!Let Champagne Jesus or any of the knowledgeable staff pick out the perfect bubbles for your visit. No "occasional?" Even better! Our group enjoyed a wine tasting, noshed on tasty snacks and sipped this stunner of a champagne on a bright, Sunday afternoon."
"Classy and cool is how to describe this place in the Loop with a healthy and light menu. It's not cheap but get here for happy hour and there will be some pretty good prices. One North, for those who can't figure it out, is at One North Wacker. Good place for downtown workers at lunch. Those waiting for the afternoon will get some great savings. After seeing the menu and the prices, we made a decision to go at happy hour. It's quite a deal for those willing to wait for it. This also avoids the big lunch crowds of downtown workers. A lot of those people don't need to worry about saving a few bucks. For those who are more thrifty, the happy hour is the best hour. Actually it's a couple hours for deals on both drinks and food. The specials vary per day of the week. It's $10 for cocktails. On Fridays it's a Manhattan. These were strong. As for the food it has a few appetizers. It's $10 for happy hour. We got the Traditional Hummus, with it being one of the few vegan friendly items. It was a decent amount. This comes with cucumbers, kalamata olives, lemon zest, pita chips, and tomatoes. It was a good amount of food for an appetizer. The regular menu features super expensive things such as seafood and more. Get here at happy hour. It's a lot less expensive for some good stuff. The bar is good for an intimate experience or you can sit on the patio and get some good views."
"Eggs, Inc. is on the first floor of my obstetrician's office, and I hadn't heard of it before. When I've gone to an appointment I haven't stopped in but yesterday I had an appointment and headed to work after so decided to get something for lunch. The restaurant is large, and whenever I've passed by on the way to the doctor they've never been very busy. I ordered mine to go so I could get to work and it took about 10 minutes. They have an extensive menu, lunch and breakfast, and though I love an omelet I decided to go with the reuben of the classic variety (they have a turkey reuben as well, and I have to admit it was hard to decide between the two). The sandwich was really quite good. Unfortunately I totally forgot about the thousand island, which I found later in a bag that had the side of soup that comes with the sandwich. But even without the dressing it was excellent and I'd happily order it again. It's making me hungry for one right now, actually. The soup was less good. They had chicken noodle and split pea, so chicken noodle it is! But unfortunately the chicken noodle tasted like something that came out of a can, with pressed cubed chicken and all. It went in the trash after a couple bites but luckily the sandwich was huge and filling."
"I was in the neighborhood and looking for someplace with free wi-fi. This place was nice enough. The light is very low, and it can be a bit noisy, depending on the crowd. This is one of those places where the booth seats are low compared to the tables, or maybe the tables are high compared to the seats. The food was okay. I thought it was maybe a tad overpriced. I just had a snack, and didn't really explore the menu fully. I'd go back. I'd like to see how it is on a different day at a different time, and maybe try something else. I just got cheese fries because I wanted something to nibble on, and they were okay. They use actual melted cheddar instead of sauce, which was good."
"I've only gotten carryout from this restaurant which is a solid choice for Russian / Eastern European cuisine. The flavor and style of cooking is very similar to Allegro Deli, which provides selections of salads, soups, grilled meats, sides, and delicious entrees.Though not cheap, you can get well-prepared entrees for only a few more dollars than fast food nearby."
"This place has become a new favorite for me. The French Onion Grilled Cheese is unreal. I can't believe how good it is. Perfect for one hungry person or shareable with another person. I also loved the grilled eggplant dip from their menu. The cocktail menu offers options for everybody and these are winners as well. If you are looking for good drinks and delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere, this place is perfect for you."
"Came by for dinner after rock climbing during a weekday. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Po' Boy, which was loaded up with fried shrimp. I liked the remoulade sauce and the cut of their fries. The service was super friendly. The food my friends ordered all looked amazing, so I'll definitely be back when I want a taste of cajun country. I've never had fried alligator, but it's on the menu and I'm intrigued."
"When I'm back in Chicago... D2 and I were staying downtown for a volleyball tournament and this came highly rated from a friend. It was a short walk from our hotel and so conveniently located if you're in the Magnificent Mile area.We were greeted and seated promptly. We shared the calamari fritti and it was delicious. She had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and she said it's the best she's ever eaten. I had the gnocchi a la bolognese and it was delicious. It was so much food that we had to bring our leftovers home with us. We even went back 2 nighs later, it was THAT yummy to us. Second time around we shared the steak and frittes and the margarita pizza. Again so yummy. It can get loud inside. Tables are close to each other. But I would still go back for all the yummy food."
"Food was good.. I ordered the sausage scramble dish that came with breakfast potatoes.. That was pretty good w/ some hot tea.. Service could be a little better, seem like they was under staffed or folks just wasn't paying attention. I had to keep asking for things over and over and had to get up myself and get ketchup for myself.. Just need a little more attention to detail on the service side of things.. Good breakfast spot with a nice patio as well."
"This is the best establishment in old town. The bouncers are 10/10 the nicest most polite gentleman I have ever encountered in the entire state of Illinois. A staple for anyone who loves Chicago- please visit this incredibly fun and amazing dive bar. I always have the best night of my life here...mostly because they close at 4am lol."
"Outdoor seating in front of a Sandy beach as far as your eye can see, and all that entails in terms of your viewing pleasure. Live music from 7 to 9. On a clear summer day it doesn't get any better in Chicago IL. If there's a wait take a walk at the beach - you won't be disappointed. The food is not bad and pricing is not ridiculous. Shout outs go to the steak tacos(tons of meat), blackened white fish, and the quesadilla. Enjoy your summer."
"When I'm in the area I like this place for their frozen lemonade- mango - strawberry it's so good! Everything I've tried out of here is really really good the nachos/ shrimp and them grapes. I kinda remember the banana pudding differently a while ago, because there were no bananas in it n like 4 nilla cookies lack luster."
"Great vibe and food! Restaurant is nautical themed and had a fun atmosphere. On a recent Tuesday they had live music. We didn't have reservations but they quickly sat us in the lounge area (behind the live music which was a bit odd but worked). We all loved our meals, cocktails were also very creative and well executed.Service was excellent as well, I recommend!"
"This was a treat for me during restaurant week. I'd never had escargot before and got to try it here. DELECTABLE! I started with a delicious cup of decaf coffee, and then moved on to the French Spritzer which was delicious! I also had the Mussels Marinieres & Frites, both of which were great. And that Chocolate Hazelnut Bar for dessert was FANTASTIC! The service was perfect and the ambiance was very nice. I enjoyed this decadent meal very much. It was overall, a lovely meal and time with friends."
"I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem that combines my favorite things - a cute cafe in an apothecary store. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed with an apothecary with the modern appeal of a trendy café.I went there for a late brunch with a friend. And we ordered Avocado toast, Bangkok bowl, Cappuccino and Chaider tea. The tea has apple cider (which is quite healthy) but a bit too sweet for our taste and it was a part of a special menu. The star of the show, of course, is the Bangkok bowl. Even though on the menu it says SPICY. It wasn't spicy. Everything blended togther so well and nothing was overpowering. The chunky peanuts were adding it to the flavor. It was served with lime wedge which we didn't need to use as it was perfectly flavorful already. I can't help but sing praises for their avocado toast. The toast is perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of crunch, and the avocado spread is generously creamy, and they used the most perfectly ripen avocados. It was a bit on the expensive side as the cost was $20.95.But what truly sets this place apart is the apothecary element. The store boasts a wide range of herbs, teas, candles, skincare, stationary, and wellness products. Might add some therapeutic dimension to your visit. The service was overall satisfactory, with an attentive staff. Overall I will recommend The Lunchroom. Whether you're seeking a delicious brunch or natural remedies to enhance your well-being, this place offers the best of both worlds."
"Was in the neighborhood for a cheeseburger hankering. All in all, it was just okay and not as good as I remember it being.I have to say their fresh cut potato fries are a staple, tasted exactly how I remembered.Good for a fry and coke snack. Burger was just okay and it was a bit overpriced.Solid 3"
"Entering the wonderland was a treat! The view was stunning and the decor was charming. We were seated promptly without any issues. As we savored espresso martinis and truffle fries, we soaked in the breathtaking view of Chicago. The espresso martinis were delightful with a robust coffee flavor, and while the liquor was subtle, it packed a punch! The truffle fries made for a perfect appetizer to share, ideal for 3-4 people. The black truffle dipping sauce was particularly delicious!Tip: Visit during quieter hours to avoid the rush, especially around 5pm when it gets very busy!"
"Fora has a great high tea service. I went there with a group of girls and the service was exceptional. We were served bubbles and had a pick of tea options. The high tea came with chicken salad sandwiches, shrimp rolls, deviled eggs, macaroons which were so good, couple of pastry options and fruits. The outdoor patio is super cute it is a good spot for celebrations! I would come back again for another round of high tea!"
"This was our last stop for restaurant week 2024!!! We had 2 different brunch spots booked and ended up deciding on this restaurant over the other. Went with this restaurant cause we wanted to try a restaurant in the different neighborhood. So often our default is eating in Fulton market or West Loop, so wanted to try something different. Awesome value for $25 to have brunch, dessert and a cocktail. This establishment has been a part of this neighborhood for a significant period of time. The owner (Steve) was present to and jumped right in with servicing the brunch time rush. It was definitely very busy from 11 AM until about 12:15. Once the establishment got there groove on regarding brunch things started to roll out pretty promptly. For food I got the grits and shrimp brunch item. That was definitely tasty and filling. The quality of the grits were definitely better than most. 4 drinks I got a glass of Prosecco which was chilled perfectly. Additionally I got a Greek liquor Spritz, named Ionia Mastika Spritz. Both drinks were really good and refreshing, I would come back for happy hour as they have some deals. I could see this place being really cute with the patio open during summer. All in all a very enjoyable time, I will say that they have 2 separate areas a bar and dining area. We sat in the dining area and it was very acoustic."
"I love this place. It's warm and welcoming, and the service is excellent; someone is always available to pour you more coffee, etc. Pauline's looks like it's been there forever--not quite forever, but almost 30 years. I like the knick-knacks, collectibles, etc.I ordered Biscuits and Gravy; they are perfect and a nice portion. My friend ordered the Corned Beef Hash with breakfast potatoes and two eggs in any style. It's off the beaten path, so finding a parking spot should be fine."
