"This is a brand new restaurant from a genre of food I have never experienced but absolutely worth the trip. Tucked away in a corner of the city you don't go to by chance is a nicely appointed restaurant. Upon entering we were promptly greeted and seated given menus and started looking over the choices. There are no pictures on the menu, the names of the dishes are somewhat familiar. The server gave us a few minutes to go over the menu before coming over and offering to explain the menu to us. She was so kind and patient and answered all of our questions, she made some recommendations that we decided to go with. Fried manti, a delicious fried dumpling with a well seasoned beef and onion filling. Boso lagman, a fried noodle dish with beef, green and red peppers the noodles were very good and tasted house made, they were served in a light tomato sauce and I would absolutely order again. The Plov is a spiced rice dish served with lean chunks of lamb on top. The server brought us some complimentary berry compote drink sweetened lightly with honey and some fried beignets served with a thinned out clotted cream. The serving sizes were massive, each order was enough for 2 people with hearty appetites. Everything was amazing, this is a great addition to the neighborhood and I think they will be around for a long time."

"It's nowhere near my house, and took careful coordination and a nontrivial drive through rush hour traffic in freezing rain, but I just had to find out why people were so obsessed with the cambodian fried chicken coming out of this joint. So one Friday I combined a trip to the auto shop with a pickup of their family meal of roasted and fried cambodian chicken.It was the most interesting delicious food I have had in a long time. The fried chicken was delicious, and the roasted chicken might have been even better. The crudites dips were weird and rich and savory. The salad was awesome, though the dressing was so intense that you may want a light hand. The fried bananas were compelling too. I was just blown away by how much was going on here, and reminded by how much I've missed out on this kind of dining in the past 21 months.To be sure, the meal had to survive a long drive back to my house so some of the fried things (bananas and chicken) would have been even better if I could have had them fresh. And some things were just pushing the envelope too much even for me. But that is exactly what I want in this kind of place. I want delicious food, flavor that punches me in the face, and maybe a little too hard.Some day, I'll be back in the dining room."

"Solid 3.5. Showed up and was let in and we picked a booth in the back. The waitress was late so we waited until she arrived. She came after we were there for about five minutes. I think this was about 15 minutes late but stuff happens so no biggie. She walked over and asked us if we knew what we want to order and we didn't have menus yet so waited a couple minutes to look through. My sister ordered eggs with ham and potatoes. I ordered a gyro omelette with potatoes and pancakes. My sister ordered a mini waffle and gave that to me to try. My omelette was big and delicious and the potatoes were amazing. I didn't particularly like the pancakes or the waffle. My sister liked her meal. All in all I am happy this place is in the neighborhood and I like their food. I know what I would order if I came back again and I would definitely come back."

"To say this place was a great dinner would be an understatement. We had reservations, which I highly recommend because this place filled up very fast on a Tuesday night. The menu was the perfect size and had a ton of options for everyone. We ordered a couple different salads so we could all try and I ordered the ravioli with prosciutto. The food was unreal, but the service was even better. Our server was around ever few minutes checking to see if she could fill our wine and water glasses. By the time we finished dinner the manager had come over to check to see how our meal and experience was. Ashley was so incredibly nice and very helpful in choosing our next lunch and dinner spots. The food was incredible and the service was top notch."

"Such a cute restaurant! I came by for lunch with a friend on a Monday. The restaurant is sort of tucked away on the street if you are not looking for it you may drive right past it. There is plenty of street parking outside and a parking lot across the way. Upon arrival to the restaurant they had so many doors it was hard to tell which one was the one to enter but once you get inside it's like a totally calming and warm environment. We were quickly say with a beautiful view of the outside. Looking through the menu, there's something for everyone. If you're looking for a yummy taco, or a burger, or even a salad. I opted for their cobb salad with salmon. It was delicious. The portioning was great, and everyone around us was beaming with excitement of how great the food was. I was also excited to see that they had a lavish mocktail menu as well. I got the Strawberry martini drink and it was refreshing for a spring day.All in all, we had a great experience. I am looking forward to coming back soon, maybe for happy hour, or even dinner!"

This weather for a California boy is a bit alien and I can't say I like it to much.So, I sat down at my laptop, logged into my local Goddess and Grocer and ordered myself a: *California Dreaming sandwich with house roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, arugula, lemon herb aioli, multigrain breadand my wife a:*Miso Chicken Salad with chicken, rice vermicelli, spicy broccoli, snow peas, carrots, Napa cabbage, kale, cilantro, mint, pickled red onions,miso honey vinaigretteI put my thermal undershirt on, my turtleneck on, my warm socks, my warm parka, my gloves and muffler, and walked the two blocks in Antarctic conditions. There was not a soul on the streets walking and I totally understand why!Goddess Grocer had our lunch prepared right on time and packed perfectly for my short walk back home.We unwrapped this pretty damn good lunch, paid our $5.99 to watch Oppenheimer (The Movie) and hunkered in like any sane person would do under these conditions.Thank you Goddess Grocer for making this day nice and easy!"

"I've not gone to many of these "salad" restaurants, but my daughter wanted to go, and it was really good. I had the chicken avocado ranch salad, and it was wonderful. I especially liked the mix of roasted onions and apples on this particular salad. Very nice space. Limited tables. Service is arbitrary. You just stand in line and tell them what you want from a large variety of salads and bowls. I think my wife and daughter got the crispy rice bowls. My daughter loves this place. My favorite part of my meal was the soda. They had a vintage soda selection called Ollipop, and it was outstanding. I chose the vintage cola and loved it. Four stars for the noncommittal service, and it was pretty expensive for three salads. Had a good lunch here and would return again."

"About a year ago a review pops in feed for Milo's claiming their shawarma sandwich is the best around! I was skeptical. Just the boon I needed to discover a new shawarma joint. There are many shawarma joints but not everyone has a great or decent sandwich. Usually just passable. But here, the chef is owning this menu. Since my many visits I've tried their shawarma and Kefta kebab sandwich which is soooooooooooooo friggin' good. Kefta is my favorite, beef shawarma is a close second. Kefta will differ from shawarma in how the meat is prepared. Shawarma is meat on a "spit" grill and is cut into slivers or slices like the meat contained in a gyros. Kefta is ground and mixed with some seasonings and formed into a kabab shape or patty. In the past I had tried their chicken shawarma as well which was forgettable. Most sandwiches are served on pita and few on Saj. If you've seen my reviews of Mediterranean restaurants, saj is a favorite. So, I always try to get my sandwiches on Saj bread if they would allow it. It's got more of a chew feel than a regular pita. Have also tried their burek which is not a spiral but comes in three single pieces of mozzarella wrapped in a longer piece of spring roll wrapper and fried. Something different than typical burek. Almost like a "real thing" version of a fresh mozzarella stick. Different tho good with a tasty side sauce.If stopping in to try, get a lunch special which is paired with a drink and fries. When served you'll notice that "fresh" quality in taste. Milo's sits on a corner with provided parking. They also own a next door business which offers ice cream and snacks during the warmer seasons. The restaurant is run like a carry out. If they got slammed with a rush of seated customers I wonder how they would meet demand. The dining room is better than most of their competitors nearby. Comfortable with good heating during the winter and breezy during warmer months. The pandemic has been rough for many of the restaurants in this locale. So it's my hope that people continue to frequent them and keep it going."

Both are much appreciated conveniences. Special occasion: I mentioned our anniversary in the reservation notes and the hostess confirmed it with us. Shortly after seating our waiter brought us two glasses bottle of sparkling wine and wished us happy anniversary. The wine was quite tasty. He also brought us a complimentary desert. Atmosphere: cozy, trendy, and just enough elegant without being stuffy. There was energy and good feel. Decor is on a darker side, it is a steakhouse, after all, but modern. Service: Buntit was attentive, knowledgeable, and did not rush us to turn the table. Food: everything was tasty. We had lobster and shishito peppers, wedge salad, filet mignon with chimichurri sauce, broccoli, roasted potato hash, and chocolate cake. Nice spirit selection, not large but everyone can find something they like. Now we need to check out their other location."

My friend got the brunch burger, which looked absolutely delicious, and I got the Idiot Burger. The idiot burger has prime rib instead of ground beef, and that made the taste unique. It comes with a tomato chutney sauce that sort of cooled the burger off, but it tasted superb. Our waiter was so sweet, helpful, and welcoming. The atmosphere here is definitely laidback and family oriented. Definitely a must visit when coming to Chicago."

"I came to Beatrix with two of my girlfriends for a lil galentines dinner. The atmosphere was a little quieter than we expected. It felt empty even though most of the seats were occupied.But the service was super quick. Once we ordered, we got our food within 10 min (maybe even less). I remember I was so shocked, I thought they had accidentally brought out an order which was supposed to be for another table.I had tried Beatrix before and recalled feeling a bit underwhelmed but I ordered the chicken bebe this time and it hit the spot. The chicken was doused in a thick white wine sauce with 3 stalks of asparagus laid across and coated with Parmesan. The portion was MASSIVE. I was STARVING and ended up eating like 75% of it but this had to be at least like 7-8oz of chicken.We also ordered a chocolate cake after. One of my friends thought it tasted pre-frozen but my other friend and I enjoyed it. It was super rich in flavor and quite fudgy, tasted like a brownie. I also grabbed a decaf hazelnut oat mocha which was delicious although definitely on the sweeter side (but like duh).Overall, I think Beatrix is good bang for your buck and would come again. Maybe for brunch because their coffee menu is so extensive!"

"I really loved my meal and the service here! The place is small but very cute and authentically decorated. I got husband and wife vibes from the staff, they were both super considerate and friendly. I started with an appetizer of grilled sheep cheese. The cheese is good quality and the accompaniments of bacon and (I think) cranberry relish really made for a tasty bite. I went with the polish plate for my entree. This might be the best polish plate I've ever had! The perogies were done just right, the potato pancake was huge, and the sausage was great as well. I'm not a big sauerkraut fan but this iteration is fried which makes a big difference, I loved it. The stuffed cabbage was probably the best part. I got it with the tomato sauce which was perfect, but they offer a mushroom sauce as well. This little strip mall spot is easy to miss but if your nearby it's definitely worth seeking out!"

Obviously with a name like Philly's Best the cheesesteak should be good. My boyfriend had one on garlic bread with onions & American cheese. He said it was phenomenal. The small sandwich is actually very big. I can't imagine how big the large is! The seasoned fries were good, nothing that differentiates those from anyone else. The slice of cheese pizza that I had was okay. I wasn't expecting anything too great. It was very doughy and just warm, not hot. Next time I visit I will order something different."

"I looked for reviews to find a place where to go out with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. Nuevo has very good reviews and was close, so we made a reservation there. First, I have to praise the space! The restaurant is very nicely decorated with all those lights! I believe that it is even more beautiful in the evening. The music is pleasant, not loud. Second, the staff is very helpful. In reviews everyone praised Chad and I totally agree! He is very hospitable and kind. Shortly- professional in his work. By reading the reviews, I saw that everyone tried the arancini and I have to admit they are perfect! The taste is fantastic and I would recommend them to everyone! Although I wanted to try tagliatelle with mushrooms, which is the most popular, I couldn't because it was morning, so we ordered pizzas. I can definitely say they are great too. I took bbq spicy, and my friend took one with mushrooms. I liked the bbq better. At the end we took the chocolate truffle that arrived with a sprinkler because it was my birthday! All in all, I would recommend this place because the food is really good and varied, there are various dishes for everyone's taste! And yes, the prices are like in downtown, but it is with reason."

The waitress was awesome. I had to decide between multiple dishes that looked appealing, so she told me her favorite was the chorizo Benedict and I wanted one of the special drinks. I was wary of the name but decided on the Baby girl. Food came out quick and everything was really good and cooked to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and the eggs cooked perfectly so when I broke the yolk it came pouting out. Hash browns were good but could have been cooked a little more crispy. Very eclectic crowd. Will definitely come by again."

The short ribs and pasta was tender and cooked to perfection. Our branzino in lemon butter and capers was to die for. We sat around dipping our bread in the dressing it was so good.
