Bill M. "My lovely wife and I were looking for a special beer that was brewed in honor of a certain retiring meteorologist. Sure enough, we were able to pre-order a 4-pack of this beer online on the Bitter Pops website. This also allowed us the opportunity to visit Bitter Pops for the first time. They offer a decent number of local beers in the taproom, so we each enjoyed some pours while sitting at the central bar. They have a limited food menu with noted items like burgers and fries, but we did not partake. Before we picked up our online beer order, we ogled the tantalizing takeout offerings in the emporium that featured wall-to-wall craft beers. We stuck with our original order, but it was not an easy decision to pass up getting another fun beer purchase."

Steve A. "Hipster bar located in Logan Square on Fullerton at California. It's known for the interesting and strong cocktails along with the photo booth so you can take drunk pictures. Spilt Milk actually does have a few cocktails with milk in these. Most don't though, and are okay for those who are non dairy. The prices are kind of high, but that's expected for hipster places like these. About the main reason to come are the cocktails, along with the cool atmosphere. It's not a real big bar, but there's room for a group. The photo booth is epic fun, and there's always people getting pictures. It's about $14 for the cheapest cocktails. The best one we had the last time was the Logan Squares. It's bourbon with banana High Life syrup and tobacco bitters. There wasn't like a tobacco taste to it though. First time going here the kitchen wasn't open. Turns out we weren't missing much though. It only has a few small bites. These are mostly meaty items like pork tacos. Only vegan item is a smashed cucumber salad, not worth it. They do sometimes have pop ups come in on an occasion. Great place for cool cocktails and of course that photo booth. It's kind of pricy but you get some good stuff. There's also beers and wines, and sometimes on Mondays they have a pop up with food or whatever."

Denyce M. "Interesting pizza joint. My first impression going inside, and don't ask why, was that I was in an Moose or Elk Lodge clubhouse. When you walk up on the space, there is a huge outdoor area as this use to be a business with a parking lot on Clark. There are plenty of tables and space to play outdoor games and to let your kids and dogs run around. For those of us that don't like being outside with the kids and dogs, there is the Moose Lodge clubhouse on the inside. It is a mixed bag of service and self service as you have to order from a Q code and then your items are brought over. They do have bubbles, but at $12 a glass. I did ask if I could do a bottle instead and the bartender accommodated me.The pizzas and wings are crazy good! You have the option of getting either a whole pizza or a selection of pizzas by the slice, which is what I opted for. I got the Spinach Lasagna (ricotta, spinach, shredded mozzarella, red sauce, parmesan) and Sausage. Both were excellent, especially the Spinach Lasagna and at $5 a slice, I like the idea of being able to get a variety of flavors without buying multiple pizzas to take home later. The wings were very good, but spicy as heck for me. Admittedly I am a light weight when it comes to hot stuff. The Queen and The Doctor thought they were fine.I can see this being a great place for people with kids to hang out when the weather is warmer to have a drink and eats and not have to worry about a babysitter. This is definitely been a repeat place for me for a quick slice."

Joneice B. "This was our last stop for restaurant week 2024!!! We had 2 different brunch spots booked and ended up deciding on this restaurant over the other. Went with this restaurant cause we wanted to try a restaurant in the different neighborhood. So often our default is eating in Fulton market or West Loop, so wanted to try something different. Awesome value for $25 to have brunch, dessert and a cocktail. This establishment has been a part of this neighborhood for a significant period of time. The owner (Steve) was present to and jumped right in with servicing the brunch time rush. It was definitely very busy from 11 AM until about 12:15. Once the establishment got there groove on regarding brunch things started to roll out pretty promptly. For food I got the grits and shrimp brunch item. That was definitely tasty and filling. The quality of the grits were definitely better than most. 4 drinks I got a glass of Prosecco which was chilled perfectly. Additionally I got a Greek liquor Spritz, named Ionia Mastika Spritz. Both drinks were really good and refreshing, I would come back for happy hour as they have some deals. I could see this place being really cute with the patio open during summer. All in all a very enjoyable time, I will say that they have 2 separate areas a bar and dining area. We sat in the dining area and it was very acoustic."

Jose C. "We made reservations thinking this place would be packed. I was shocked to see it more than half empty during brunch right at opening. A few more parties did arrive by the time we were eating, but unfortunately didn't get all the way full. The entrance is a little confusing. The restaurant is upstairs and that is where the host is at. We walked all over looking for this place. We started off with a Bloody Mary. It was served with a pepper and had a nice spicy kick to it. We ordered a side of plantains and my wife ordered their Chilaquiles Rojos. These were served with a red sauce that tasted like something my mom or wife would have made. That says a lot. Some really home style flavors going on here. They also came with a fried egg, anejo cheese, crema and avocado. I don't eat it with avocado at home, and I must say, it adds a lot of flavor. I ordered their Aguachile. It was served with Kapachi fish, coconut, serrano, cucumber and avocado. This is my first time trying aguachile with fish. I've only ever had it made with shrimp. Aguachiles is traditionally a very spicy dish. Suenos version had virtually no heat at all. While still very flavorful, I will admit I was a tad bit disappointed. The good thing is that the plate itself was not disappointing, just the fact that it wasn't spicy at all. You can really taste the cucumber and coconut in their sauce. It had a very tropical and fresh taste to it. It was also served with a side of tostadas which is 100% required to eat this dish. (It looks like they have possibly changed their menu and it now has habanero instead of Serrano.) So I'm really curious now to see if the level is spice has changed up a bit. Overall, I know this is a pop up and it won't be around for much longer. I'll be curious to see what Chef Stephen Sandoval does next. I'll be sure to follow."

After looking up a few close by sports bars, we came here. It had a good crowd but we were still able to get bar seats. There's a few big TVs. Good place for watching a game. We were impressed by the menu. Healthy for a bar. Lots of stuff for vegans. Also drinks. Prices are about what to expect. It's about $12 for a cocktail. The one I got was the Fly By Night. It's Amaro Noveis, Bonded bourbon, Giffard Rhubarb Liqueur, and lemon. Some high end ingredients in there. Each of us got one of the vegan cheeseburgers. It's about $14 for these. These are pretty big though. I got the Vegan BBQ Cheeseburger. This is a Beyond Burger with barbecue sauce, vegan cheese, fried onions, and pickles. Filling burger. This makes a healthier yet tasty alternative to the meaty stuff. Have to hit this place up again. It's on Armitage closest to the California CTA station. The Harding Tavern is so much more than your average dive bar, though. With dine-in seating, you have premium beer/cocktail options on top of meals fit for any type of day. Their tap options are stacked, in my opinion. They have a rotating 'pint of the month' that highlights an alluring $5 price tag. Special mention, these guys have Goose Island Bourbon County stout on tap, which, to me, is incredible. I'm never in the market to buy a full bottle of one of these drinks, so a 10 oz pour is just right. The tavern itself is pretty compact, with the bar area located in the middle of everything, so it's pretty easy to get a tender's attention. Service is always prompt no matter the time of day. Brunch deals are available with their complimentary mimosas with a brunch entree purchased and a $38 package deal that includes a bottle of bubbly + OJ.I think the THT is a solid option to grab a drink in Logan Square. Great to bring some friends, to bring a first date, or to just grab a drink and watch a sports ball game alone. No judgment! Its accessibility alone to the NW side of the city is reason enough to check this bar out."

I've been several times now and the food has always been excellent, but today I'm here to talk about the service. My boyfriend and I went to Giant last night to celebrate our anniversary, and due to a backup in the kitchen, we were seated just under 30 minutes later than our reservation time. This didn't really bother us because it was a beautiful night and the neighborhood was lovely to walk around, however, Giant took this very seriously. They went way way WAY above and beyond to show us how sorry they were for the delay by gifting us champagne, several dishes, and a dessert, all completely on the house. We were so appreciative of the initiative, and it only deepened our love of this restaurant. Giant is a prime example of a restaurant that values hospitality to the same degree that they value the quality of their food, which is something that you don't see all that often. Giant is easily one of my top 3 all-time favorite places to eat in Chicago based on their food alone, and the service-first experience we had last night just reaffirmed my opinion that Giant is one of the best restaurants Chicago has to offer. Everything was overcooked (save for the casserole) and under-seasoned (including the casserole). When we voiced that, the manager came over and said they would "discount that item." When the check came, they had taken $10 off of the chicken and waffles, which was $20. I don't mind spending the money on the food, but discounting something that we took one bite of seems like more of an insult, instead of comping it. Honestly, 2/5 stars.
