Awesome time at broken english :) Wasn't the biggest fan of the Condensed Milk and Lime drink but I switched it out for the Rosemary's Baby and it was soooo good!!! Our server (didn't catch her name but she had tattoos and pigtails) was super kind about it even though I felt bad telling her I didn't like the drink. I got the al pastor tacos and server suggested putting the salsa on the side and she was right. tacos were delicious but the salsa is spicy!!! I had a great time!

Had a good time here at Broken English Taco Pub in Old Town! I went to their Lincoln Park location (now closed) a while ago and was kind of iffy about it, but my experience here was definitely better. The ambiance is awesome - there's colorful art painted all over the ceiling and in general has super fun decor. Even the walls outside of the building are painted colorfully, it definitely catches your attention. The service was great too - our server and host were all very friendly. No complaints at all. We got bottomless mimosas (which theirs are mango) - they were sweet and only $15 which is insane. There's a 2-hour limit on it which was more than enough. The chips and salsa were okay; the salsa comes in 2 tiny cups that easily can be eaten by 1 person. I had the carne asada tacos - for 2 tacos, it was $9. It's an affordable restaurant in general and I might just be used to local taquerias, but $9 for 2 tacos seems like a bit much. The tacos were good and standard, nothing I haven't had before. My friend said the same about her fried chicken tacos. My other friend liked her quesadilla as well. Overall, I'd come here again!

We came in at 6:30 on a Sunday and were easily seated. Inside is fun and vibrant and the food is no different. We ordered the chips and salsa to start. Spent a few minutes trying to identify a familiar but surprising flavor in the red salsa (it's ginger!) which was super fun! We ordered the Al Pastor de Pollo and Camarones Tacos and split it one each. Both were simple but packed with flavor. I think the Camarones Tacos is one of my all time favorites.

Came here on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty crowded; always a good sign! It was the 3 of us so we ordered the Dozen Tacos. The server was very helpful and accommodating of our kiddo's aversion to anything remotely spicy. I gotta say, not all of them were winners but, man, the Carnitas were TASTY AF. Even the Al Pastor de Pollo was delicious! (I say "even" bc chicken tacos can never be as amazing as steak or pork, or so I thought.) the Carne Asada was a little dry, imho. All the tacos came out a little picante by default (except for the ones for our kidlet) with some more jalapeños and salsa on the side, which was perfect for us! I thought 12 tacos (5 each for my bf and me) would be way too much but it ended up being...not too much. *burp* We loved the fun decor and our server was very friendly and helpful!

Broken English has one of the prettiest set ups I've ever seen. The entire restaurant is decorated with bright colors and beautiful flowers. The tacos are all between $9-11 and come in 2. I would say 3 tacos is needed to fill you up without ordering Any appetizers. My friends and I tried their Carne Asada, Cod, Shrimp, and Brisket tacos. We also shared a chicken bowl / salad, which was surprisingly delicious. The chicken from the salad was so flavorful and tender. Everything was delicious - 8/10!

Dear big groups: Nacho Mama's Tacos are EVERYTHING (and they're affordable too). I love going to Broken English after a good intramural volleyball. The frozen drinks come in a variety of flavor and type - sangria, daiquiri, and of course, plain marg. I just wish the tacos were more filling. Overall, I highly recommend. The service is good and the waitress made sure we were taken care of.- AT

The fundido queen dip, churros with pomegranate ice cream and the carnitas tacos were top notch. Would come back for those. Great service, fun atmosphere and really reasonably priced.

Visited this place in Old Town and had Margaritas and appetizer - Nacho Mama's Nachos. Loved the margaritas and nachos which were pretty loaded and good enough for 2 people.

A huge recommendation to anybody visiting the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago. The nightlife of this neighborhood is very fun and draws you in without any effort but at the end of the strip, a beautiful and vibrant taqueria is waiting for hungry tummies. Order a few different styles, none of the ones we ordered disappointed. And the have a house ranch water -- don't skip on that, either.
