The place is huge and the staff so extremely helpful and attentive. The brunch was amazing. The fresh pastries were out of this world. The humus and yogurt dips, fresh pitas, the fries, and of course the drinks! The lamb halabi kabobs were delicious as well as oyster mushroom fasolia fatar and chicken shish taouk dishes. The Turkish eggs were a hit. Definitely will be back for the dinner menu."

The cake I got was super cute, and the cake was moist and delicious! The icing and cream wasn't too sweet, so it was perfect for me. However, the strawberries were frozen, so it did feel super hard and cold to bite into. The girls at the counter were quick with the service and very friendly. I can't comment on pricing, since it was purchased by a friend, but we all enjoyed the cake."

Komal R. "This is the OG boba spot of the city. I remember coming here quite frequently a few years back but eventually it fell off my radar because I wanted to try other places etc. Over the years I have tried many flavors including Taro, Thai tea, Sakura rose etc and their quality of flavors and boba has always been consistent. I got the premium jasmine milk tea, which is just 25 cents more than the normal jasmine tea, so why not. I haven't seen the Jasmine flavor offered at many places so I was super excited about it. It is so refreshing and I am glad it is only mildly sweetened. The sesame is interesting if you like the flavor (not for me but my husband loves it). It reminded me of sesame sweets and I am not a big fan of those."

This place offers an Australian theme which was really cool. The brunch menu was reasonably priced. If dining in, this place is cash only! Venmo is only accepted if food is being picked up. The place has two dining rooms. I didn't realize they had another side until I got up to use the bathroom. The menu definitely has an interesting twist in food selection. For example, I got the Sweet Chili Pork Roll Sandwich which was really delicious. Reminded me only a little bit about going to the Jersey shore. I like how they used foccacia and I liked the crunchiness the hash browns offer. The asian crisp garlic mayo offered a different taste than I am use to with this kind of dish. The chip that came with this dish (sweet potato fries) should not be missed either. The waiter even said how amazing the chips are. The service was great (unlimited, quick coffee service) and I loved the music they played."

What's a girl to do when one of Yelp's top chocolate chip cookies in the COUNTRY is steps away, calling my name after any minor inconvenience I encounter? I am a mere cookie-loving mortal!Everything is so good here you're not gonna go wrong. There's probably going to be a line whenever you go (and there is a 100% chance of a line on weekend mornings) but don't let that deter you! It moves very quickly and you can even order online for pickup if you're looking for added ease. I tried their BEC for the first time, ordering it ahead and enjoying it on a park bench in the square, a course of action I highly recommend. The staff here is as sweet as the baked goods and truly nothing I've tried has missed. The classic chocolate chip is the star of the show but my underrated favorite is the gorgeous lemon ricotta cookie. Next on the must try list? Breakfast items like sticky buns and their lunchtime sandwiches. Thank you for existing, Bakeshop on 20th!"

My mocha iced latte was delicious with creamy milk and not overly sweet mocha syrup; you could really taste their espresso roast and savor the flavors. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and quick to deliver our order on a busy Saturday. The restroom is in the back and gender beauties. It was very clean. Payal P. "Wow! This place is an outstanding brunch place right across from Planned Parenthood (quite an interesting scene outside) in the gayborhood. The place was packed when we went on a Saturday afternoon. The place is byob which was a pleasant surprise when I discovered it. I told my other girlfriends and we ended up having 2 bottles of wine at brunch. The hostess turned out to be the owner and he was quite friendly. He opened our bottles and told us the specials (the place specializes in Dutch food which was quite an experience). The waitress came by and we placed our orders. I ended up getting the Hawaiian Uitsmijter, which was basically a Dutch open faced sandwich. Honestly, the plate was so stuffed it was my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bread I chose was pumpernickel which was soft and tasted so fresh. On top of the bread was ham, pinapple and Gouda with runny eggs. I added some chili pepper since my Indian scents don't like a nonspicy meal (I know, I ruined the Dutch taste). The ham was nice, juicy, and thick. There was a salad and pickle that came on the side.Honestly, my friends and I had such a blast we ended up staying past closing. The staff was friendly for not kicking us out). We ended up getting last call for dessert. All three of us split the Deep Fried Bread Pudding French Toast. It was delicious. It was so thick and the homemade blueberry jam killed the dish."

Anna S. "I was here for a yelp pickup event but wanted to stay to work a little since the place was not very crowded when I came. I ordered extra items and got the Portland Panini. It was a bit disappointing because I didn't read too clearly and didn't see that the Portland panini was made with wheat bread. (Instead of the classic ciabatta, focaccia, or baguette) So basically it's a sandwich, not a panini...I added chicken as an extra and the bread came out to be around $15. The "panini" was a bit soggy and almost room temperature when I took my first bite. It was tasty but there was nothing special about it. I liked how they have outlets throughout the shop close to the seats so if you were here to work you can easily charge your electronics. The amount of natural sunlight is welcoming. The staffs were really friendly. This is a cute coffee shop to grab coffee and breakfast to catch up with friends or work. I wouldn't come here and expect to be wow-ed or find anything innovative."

I didn't see the sign outside that said "All Vegan" and from the food you wouldn't even be able to tell it was! I got a latte here with non-dairy milk (of course) which didn't cost extra (in this economy??) which was really good. I got the basic sandwich which was tofu on a Philadelphia roll. I'm not sure what sauce or cheese or seasoning they use, but it was amazing! Seriously may call them for the recipe. Everything was super reasonably priced (especially for it being vegan). There are a few high chairs at the front, but wouldn't bring a laptop or sit-down work. They have a bathroom in the back which was small, but clean. The baristas were really nice and very hip. Overall, this place is on the GRIND and it's definitely working for them. Wine list is small but solid and appropriate for the menu. The beef tartare toast appetizer was great, but the grated horseradish was a little too overpowering to appreciate the tartare. The duck was PERFECT. I say that rarely and it was perfect. Enough fat to want to eat the crisp. Little enough that fat wasn't your entire bite. Perfectly cooked. The chive mezze rigatoni was in a fantastic yet simple sauce, you'd want to drink it. The double cheeseburger was solid but the fries really stole the show. Ended the night with the corn soufflé cake which is both the weirdest and most delicious combination of flavors. So impressed with the meal. Can't wait to come back."

Shane S. "I had great expectations about The Tasty for it was named the number one vegan diner in America in the recent Veg News Best of 2024 issue. On a recent trip to Philly I stayed a short walk from The Tasty. When I went here to refuel post-yoga practice a little past half past 12pm on a Sunday afternoon had mixed emotions for the restaurant was packed so was happy so many folks were enjoying all vegan cuisine and also bummed because there was no indoor dining since they closed at 2pm. I had no alternative, but to take whatever vegan delight I ordered to go. I ordered the deluxe breakfast burrito aka tofu scramble vegan cheddar tempeh bacon jalapeno and red onion all topped with vegan sour cream and spicy vegan mayo. It came with a side of home fries. I found the service friendly and prompt. Happy that this all vegan diner was popular. I took a walk home to enjoy it and it was very tasty. 5 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service yet am deducting a star due to not being able to dine in which I love to do when dining out and experience the ambience. The only caveat is the restaurant is small and not much dining. Pro tip- Sundays are the busiest day here so if you want to dine in go on an off day aka Wed or Thurs or get there early on Sat or Sun otherwise you will be left getting take out like me. So I went back here with a friend. We had brunch together and were able to dine in. Excellent friendly welcoming service by Parker. All staff were on point. Ambience here is wonderful. It is small so get here early to dine in. I love the creativity of art in the diner. I had the Tempeh Deluxe Reuben with a side of Caesar Salad. Both were tasty and nourishing. My friend had the deluxe burrito that I previously had and French Toast that I tried and enjoyed. All in all we both loved our meals. Five stars if you can arrive early and land a table in the limited indoor seating. I pursued the baked goods that looked quite alright. A must try if in Philly!"

I discovered this place years ago with my mom while visiting local thrift stores in the area. I happened to be in the area today, which is seldom for me but I made a point to visit Gryphon for a late breakfast/early lunch before an appointment. They were out of smoked salmon so i opted for a sesame bagel with hummus and tomato. Super ripe tomato sliced perfectly atop house made hummus that was expertly seasoned without garlic. I hate garlic heavy hummus so this was entirely satisfying. I love strong coffee in all forms but had had french press to begin the day so opted for an iced tea instead. The tea was black, perfectly brewed with a hint of fruit, of which i could not place but it was the perfect counterpoint to a balmy day. Other reviewers have mentioned that the cleanliness of the establishment left much to be desired but I observed the opposite. Also the baristas were professional, not too smiley (which I appreciate, having spent decades in the service industry) and were clearly enjoying the early afternoon and each-other's company. I will most certainly be back."

Not only is the food filling and delicious, the prices are really affordable as well. Both times I've come here, my kiddo has gotten the green juice and granola with yogurt and berries. He's not too great with his numbers yet, but based on his reaction to the food and the fact that he eats it all up, I'd say he'd agree with a 10 out of 10. He also really loves that we go inside for a special bakery treat before heading home. Ok fine, I'm not going to lie. It's really me that refuses to leave this place without a delicious treat. For me, I get the eggs with bacon and potatoes. The food is plentiful, fresh and cooked perfectly. Sometimes the kid and I trade a few bites too so we get to try 2 dishes instead of 1.
