"Why 5 stars? Because the birria tacos were about as good as it gets. --- --- ---There was once a food truck that is now defunct that had the best birria tacos I've ever had. I recently wrote about another truck that was probably just one tier down from that spot, and I think Tacos Dona Lena is in that similar vein. Very good, but not the best ever.I've had this place bookmarked for probably two years and finally had the opportunity to visit. I wanted to try about 10 different things, but figured I would just go with typical quesabirria. I also ordered a side of rice and beans and really enjoyed those, as the beans had a great smokey flavor. I washed it all down with some decent mango drink. Did all of this collectively give me some pretty epic indigestion later that night? Yep. But that's the price you pay for tastiness."
"Finally decided to try Liberty Taco after the many highly rated Yelp reviews in addition to me loving Tacos! I decided to go on a Monday morning and when I got there I was in fact worried because there wasn't a single soul in line. Variety is the spice of life, so I decided to pig out this morning! I order 1 barbacoa taco, 2 egg bacon and cheese taco, chips & queso, as well as 1 chicken taco. All the meat on each on of my tacos was well seasoned, eggs were great and (real). For some odd reason, the Queso stole the show! The only drawback for me was that the tortilla did not seem like it was freshly made and instead store bought, but nonetheless all still great.Customer service was great!"

"Hello Yelpers! If you are looking for a quick go to restaurant for Tacos then then this is the place. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Taco and the Shrimp Taco and they both tasted great. I had the Shrimp Taco on the Corn Tortilla and the Jerk Chicken on the flour tortilla. I think I prefer the flour tortilla.I don't have pictures because the food look messy but they were good. I ordered the tacos to go as well. Overall they tasted good and they were reasonably priced as well. $4 and some change."
"I came in for a quick lunch when I was in the area for a conference. The Burger Palace was within walking distance from my hotel, and was tucked in a corner of a shopping center. The exterior of the building did not look out of the ordinary, and the interior appeared to be quite jaded, with a 1980s feel to it--although it is clear that the place began operations well after that time! I took a seat at the bar area--it does not appear that they serve spirits and mixed drinks at The Burger Palace, but there is a beer selection on the menu.It appears that there was only one person working and running the entire operation the day I visited. The server offered me a menu but was not too chatty, as he had other tables to tend to. I took some time to look at the menu and placed my order--an American Classic Burger, Truffle Fries, and a Diet Coke. The drink arrived in a can along with a glass filled with ice, so obviously no refills at The Burger Palace. After some time, the burger and fries arrived. The American Classic burger was presented well with a side of ketchup. It was a basic cheeseburger on a (I presume) brioche bun with a good quality (kobe) beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and a unique sauce. The truffle fries were fried in truffle-infused oil, and was perfectly crisp. Overall, the meal was wonderful. Aside from the quirky decor and understaffed service, I had a wonderful lunch at The Burger Palace and would certainly come back if the opportunity affords it!"
"Prepare your taste buds for a tantalizing journey through creative taco creations at this gem of a spot! From innovative twists to classic favorites, their taco game is unmatched. And let's talk about their queso - simply divine, especially with the added punch of chorizo! A must-try for any cheese lover or taco aficionado."
"The prices are expensive, the building is next to a busy street, and the small parking lot is a hot mess. Ok, now that I got those out of the way, let's taco bout the food.I ordered the fish taco dish. It's $17.50 for two tacos (as of Aug 2023). It doesn't include rice or beans, but instead some sauce elegantly poured across the vast empty side of the plate to let you know you aren't dining at Torchy's. I must say though, the flavors don't mess around! If you enjoy fish tacos, this is a must. If you want something more substantial but still full of flavor, I recommend Chilaquiles with fried eggs. Luckily, my wife didn't finish hers and I was able to try - it's delicious!Service was friendly, especially the person who sells the merchandise. He has a genuine smile and look of care. He walked us to our table, helped setup the kids chairs, and made sure we were welcomed.Would I want to come back? Probably not because of the prices and distance, but I would recommend others to try."
"I visited this restaurant for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely adorable. The decor and theme was perfect for the space. The Honey Hole is a great restaurant for a nice Sunday brunch for a date or even with friends. There were a few menu items I would have loved to try but they were only available on the weekdays. I chose the peach Bellini which was a frozen drink. This drink was so refreshing with just the right amount of alcohol. My main dish was the chicken fried chicken with potatoes. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. The chicken was fried more than I would prefer but it was still delicious. Overall, the service was good as well. The wait for our food wasn't long. I would love to visit this restaurant on a weekday to try a few of the menu items"
"Wow, absolutely delectable! The flavors were bursting with delight. The ramen noodles were exceptionally tasty, and everything else was equally fantastic. The service was amazing too! The restaurant was bustling, with cozy booths and wooden tables, although the space was quite compact.Loved it all !!Thanks Local eats the recommendation!!"
"Taco Tuesday is a great deal!Agedashi tofu $3 - hot and crispy. Great Asian flavor with the cabbageBbq pork taco $3 - bf and I really like this. Our go-to. My favorite that isn't on taco Tuesday, though, is the brussels sprouts taco.Chicken tex mex $2 - bf's chicken was a tad dryBeef Supreme $2 - I think he liked itEven though the tacos are cheap on Tuesdays, they do not skimp out. They fill them up so full, it's quite messy to eat. Can take awhile even when it's not too busy, so be patient."
"I got a shrimp burrito delivered through Uber eats. I didn't like that I had to pay extra for the salsa but that may be Uber specific. The rice was too salty for me but otherwise the burrito was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and it was full of shrimp. The jalepeno salsa was the perfect amount of spicy. I'd order again!"
"Vibe- This is a nice causal restaurant with plenty of seating inside and a good amount of seating outside too! The outside area overlooks a body of water with a nice view (and some ducks :))Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a veggie taco and a pacific veggie taco to eat. I got a sangria with red wine to drink. Everything was delicious.Parking- There's plenty of spots in the lot."
"Came here after a workout with a friend and was pleasantly surprised! She mentioned it was a taco shop and of course tacos are good but these were really good! I got the pork and the beef and the elotes. everything was so well seasoned and it was a decent size for the price. They had margarita specials on Wednesday but I didn't get one because I was trying to be good. Lol The establishment is a little small inside but they do have a patio outside that you utilize as well."

After not one, but two absolutely delightful visits to Tacos Don Lena, it's clear to see why this spot is hailed as one of the best birria taco places in the entire US. The birria tacos here are nothing short of AMAZING. Every bite is a perfect blend of juicy, tender meat, richly flavored sauce, and perfectly crispy tortillas, creating a taste sensation that's hard to find anywhere else. What makes the experience even more special is the staff. They're incredibly helpful, ensuring that your dining experience is as enjoyable as possible. Their recommendations are spot-on, and they serve everything with a smile. And let's not forget the cokes in glass bottles - it's those little touches that make the whole experience feel authentic and just downright enjoyable. The birria tacos themselves are a masterpiece of flavor. The meat is slow-cooked to perfection, meltingly tender and infused with a blend of spices that's bold but not overwhelming. Paired with the crunch of the tortilla and the freshness of the accompanying lime and cilantro, it's a taco experience that's hard to beat.Tacos Don Lena doesn't just serve food; they serve an experience that stays with you long after you've finished eating. For anyone looking for the ultimate birria taco experience, this is the place to be. It's a well-deserved five stars from me, and I can't wait to go back for more.

Liberty Taco was pretty close to our hotel after a late night concert at NRG so we decided to give it a try. Chips & Queso were good. Very similar to Torchy's but without the heat. Two thumbs upI ordered 3 tacos: Bacon, Egg & Cheese - Barbacoa - Chorizo, Egg & Cheese. The Barbacoa was fantastic. Very flavorful & delicious. 8/10. The Bacon, Egg & Cheese was pretty delicious as well. It's thick cut bacon that was cooked spot on. 7.5/10The Chorizo, Egg & Cheese was my least favorite of the 3. The eggs were overcooked a bit & the taco was a little dry. 6/10. Overall, I enjoyed our food & would stop back in when we are in the area.

I went to pick up some cakes and was surprised to see a torchys in the same parking lot. I placed an online order and 20 minutes later, went inside to pick up. I ordered a couple of brushfire tacos, with jerk chicken, two Baja shrimp tacos and a chicken fajita taco, a taco bowl with brushfire chicken, and two orders of queso, one with chipotle beef and the other without. Everything was fresh and ready to pick up. Very filling. One thing I must say is make sure you have all of your bags. I almost walked out without the included chips. Another person walked out with the chips as I was about to leave. Got home and my family enjoyed the meal. Everything was correctly made and very filling.

"If you find yourself going to Burger-Chan on a Monday just to realize they're closed, The Burger Palace is an alternative that will make you understand not to make that same mistake again."I came to this establishment to honor National Cheeseburger day. My first choice is Burger-Chan, unfortunately they're closed on Mondays. So since Burger Palace was walking distance, I decided to give them a try. It is a mom and pop shop and wait times and service can take a hit on battle weary owners. The entire place is ran by the owners and the FOH staff is the co-owner. NGL, he's got to have one of the most mean lookin faces I've ever seen in the service industry. He's a man of few words and clearly, being welcoming is not his strong suit. However, during my experience, his level of service was sufficient, barely. The Burger Palace touts itself as a 'Stylish burger spot featuring Akaushi beef patties cooked-to-order & dressed with gourmet toppings'. 'Gourmet burgers' seem to be used to separate its burger meals from your traditional fast food joints. However you can find 'gourmet' toppings the norm these days. Despite touting Akaushi beef patties, you can hardly tell any difference of it from any other gourmet burger place. Again, its leaning towards the norm to have specifically branded/graded beef. The faculty itself has seen better days. Trying to capitalize on the contemporary, modern interior décor, the faculty is musty and grime seems to be creeping in the nooks and crannies. It is a few degrees above comfortable level and humidity is noticeable in the air. The abstract color tables, weird looking statues and dilapidated hanging chandelier doesn't blend well with being a hamburger joint. I elected to get the Texas Cheese Burger. The brioche bun was good and it came adequately topped with fresh jalapenos, grilled onions and cheddar. Size wise, it is a tad bigger than average but it did top me off, just barely. Overall its a satisfactory and good cheeseburger (Does not come with fries), but at $13, its a tough sell. I got the parmesan and rosemary fries to share too, but it also came in at a hard-to-swallow price of $7 for a basket. The Burger Palace's prime time was probably around 10-12 years ago. It's seen better days as newer and more modern/casual places have Burger Palace beat. One such place is Burger-Chan which is literally across the street within walking distance. I feel The Burger Palace's days are numbered. Despite lacking in good service and higher than normal pricing, The Burger Palace does offer a decent burger. However its not enough to bring me back for a second try. Things overall were just 'Ok'. If you find yourself going to Burger-Chan on a Monday just to realize they're closed, The Burger Palace is an alternative that will make you understand not to make that same mistake again.

Wanted to get a quick bite so I decided to try Torchys. Menu was easy to read with lots of tacos and sides to pick from. They have their calories on their menu which is always a plus. I was impressed when the tacos came out, they looked delicious. My first bite was filled with juicy, soft, flavorful salmon for my Mr. Orange which was my favorite taco that I got. I would come back!

Very good taco joint on the SW side. Order at the counter and grab a seat and the food is brought to your table. Very nice staff but some speak limited English. Some of the furniture could be repaired, but it doesn't affect the food. Everything I had was very flavorful and fresh. The birria gravy was really good and so is the red and green sauces. It gets crowded and loud so be prepared, but I'd definitely be back.

"I've become addicted to these delicious breakfast tacos!! I always get chorizo, egg, and cheese because that's the favorite in my household, so I can't tell you about much else, but I don't need much else. The place is in a small strip center. Typically no problems parking, but at peak time I can see it getting a little bit difficult if the other places in the strip are also having surges (I.e., lunchtime). The service has been friendly and even though I've ordered on DoorDash as well, it's always arrives hot and packaged well. The prices are very reasonable and the food is always consistently great. Check them out!"
"Nice little hole in the wall ma-and-pa place. Very nice wait staff and the ambiance is relaxed. Very colorful environment, but welcoming. Came on a slow night so didn't have to wait to get seated, and was promptly waited on. The service was nice and quick, even though the phones were ringing off the hook! The salsas presented with the chips in the beginning were pretty good! Not mind blowing, but they came in handy when the tacos arrived. The charro beans stole the show. These are some of the best I've had. Not too heavy, the meat and beans were cooked just right, and it was a welcome preface to the tacos. The tacos arrived and they were flavorful, but the meat was barely luke warm. GRILL MASTER, please don't be afraid to cook the meat so it becomes hot. It ruined the tacos. All the ingredients were fresh, but I like it when the meat is warm. Anyways, overall a nice experience and is probably return. Wouldn't make a trip just for this restaurant but if you're in the area stop on by."
"Delicious authentic food. Tortillas are homemade and yummy. My favorite is the chorizo and egg. Just gotta watch out for that chorizo grease. It will get your pants stained if you're not careful ;)"
"Came in today for cinco de mayo and it was packed! There was a 2 hour wait (for a party of 2) and probably more for bigger groups. We put our name on the list and after about an hour we received a text that we were added to the list and it took about another hour before we were told that our table was ready. The restaurant was extremely busy but all of the servers were working hard and on the go so that was greatly appreciated. I ordered the $5 margaritas for cinco de mayo. They were good for $5 but I didn't feel buzzed or anything. The chips and salsa were mehh (I feel like the chips were stale). But the star of the show was the surf and turf egg rolls! 10/10 highly recommend! The portion was huge! I split it with two people! The meat on there was chefs kiss and the shrimp was just the perfect touch! Definitely coming back for it! Parking was a bit rough as it's a shared parking lot with other establishments so just an fyi!"
"The street tacos here are bomb--got the chorizo, Barbacoa, pastor and carnitas. Friendly cashier. Tasty horchata. Fast and delicious"
"Not often I get excited about a Taco place but this place is pretty awesome. They have a lot of delicious tacos and you can even get a Jícama shell if you're watching your carbs but you probably should just let this one go. They also have a bar and a nice patio so the whole ambiance of the place is very open and bright and it's a good place to just go hang out too if you're meeting with someone."
"Returned last night and was not disappointed! The quesaBirria at $3.25 a piece is flavor bomb. I'm not sure with the tub of sauce adds much more to the flavor."
"Came here for the first time to grab a quick bite with some tacos to-go. I ordered the Maui Fish and the Alamo. Both were recommended by the staff along with several others. Both tacos were very flavorful and delicious. It was about 6inches long. Overall, still a bit pricey for tacos, but once in a while when you feel like spending a bit more, it's definitely worth it. You have to order at the cashiers and they give you a number so they can deliver your food to the table. Staff are friendly and fast. Restaurant bar is pretty large with quite a bit of tables and chairs. I didn't see any street parking, but I'm sure it has a parking structure in whatever building it's located in. Sorry no pictures of the food."
"Mmmmmmm... The velvetiest tacccccco!!! Yum!!! Food: Spicy Tikka Chicken Tacos are tha bomb! It transports you to a place where spicy food meets taco and oh what a wonderful dance it is! It's definitely a flavor explosion in your mouth.Parking: Parking is a bit tight could imagine if you came on a weekend, but I went on a week night, so I had a great choice of parking spots. Location: You can't miss it. This Location is in Rice Village across from Insomnia Cookies!!! If you've passes the cookie place, gone too far. Service: Service was amazing. I felt like I didn't even have to wait long for the food to come out and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. In essence, I will be back for sure. Amazing service and great food! Oh yeah, I'm coming back for sure!!"
"Ruby's at night... love me some beef fajita Gordita! ... Ruby's in the morning... chorizo and egg tacos ... I like mine with refried beans.... You can watch old time movies while you wait for your food! Clean... friendly staff... and conveniently located!"
"Support local food trucks! That's my motto. The reviews were great so I had to swing by for a quick bite. Getting here was easy. I arrived around 1pm, the wait time for my food was short. There were two gentleman ahead of me. The lot doesn't look like much but the food is definitely delicious and priced reasonably. Let's discuss the menu. Simple, but delicious. Burgers, quesadillas, tacos (medium and street tacos size). Weekly specials can be found on the backside of I was hoping for street tacos, however the gentleman inside suggested I order the "cowboy tacos special", which come with three tacos and a beverage. I wish they offers other beverages besides sodas, but who am I to complain. Anyways the tacos are available in the following flavors: beef, pork, and chicken served on a delicious flour tortillas, topped Roth onions and cilantro. I had one of each - baby theses tacos were full of FLAVOR! Normally, I am not a fan of chicken tacos - they tend to be dry. However, the chicken tacos here are shredded and seasoned beautifully. The chicken and pork were my favorite out of the three. I asked for green and red sauce. To be honest the red sauce wasn't my favorite, it was extremely mild. Will I return? Absolutely! Next time I plan to order the quesadilla."
"Drop the mic.Seriously. I don't live in Cypress, but I wish I did. I stopped to get some breakfast tacos on the advice of fellow Yelpers. What I found was the perfect tortilla. Not kidding. Within the H-Town underground taco scene there are many types of tortillas. Some are thick - some are thin. Some are floury. Some are corn, some are flour. Some taste like they came out of a bag (yuck) and some taste homemade. Mex Taco House has perfected the tortilla. I ordered a few breakfast tacos for myself and 2 cheese quesadillas for my son. This place provided one of those disturbances in the force. After he took his first bite, he voluntarily quit playing his iPad. He took bite after bite. He loved his food just as I loved mine. The tacos were full. They did not skimp on anything. Everything was awesome and flavorful. The place is busy, but they serve you fast. So don't let a line scare you. It's a little loud, but as you kick off taco time - you'll tune that out.My advice - try this place?"
"Hubs and I stumbled upon the his find and loved it! Stopped in for an authentic Mexican date night and got way more than we bargained for! The food was amazing and the service was friendly. Shawarma and ribeye tacos are great! Also loved the elotes, Guac, and cocktails. The vibe, decor, and aesthetic also work well here! Salud!"
"Why 5 stars? Because it lived up to the hype. --- --- ---28 reviews and every single one is 5 stars? There's no way it can be that good, right?Let me just say this: If you don't love the tacos from Taco Keto, you're just an angry person.I lived the first 22 years of my life in the Friendswood/Clear Lake area but was never into 2 things:1) Being a foodie2) Exploring around in the "Big City"And for my return home this past Christmas, it was time to un-do that horrible behavior. I'd seen enough of the suburbs in my life - it was time for my introduction to Houston's best.My flight landed at Hobby. My mom picked me up. We went directly to Taco Keto.Oh...the GOODNESS that was contained inside of that 6 inch tortilla. Sometimes the Mexican food can be lacking here in Tampa...but one bite of this paradise, and I was right back at home.I told the employee that I was fresh off the plane from Tampa, and she told me that the day before a couple came in from Chicago. The word is getting out...and soon...Taco Keto will be a National Phenomenon."
"I didn't get to take a picture because I was hangry! Now I'm sad I didn't take pictures for yall to see it. Anyways, the tacos here were pretty good I'm not gonna lie! I ordered three tacos, 2 Barbados and 1 pastor. I got it on maiz tortilla, which felt a little thicker than other places but I'm fine with that. It comes with cilantro and onions in top. I liked the Barbacoa tacos more but I've always been more of a barbacoa type rather than pastor. They were both extremely flavorful! Tacos were $1.75 each on maiz tortilla. I think it costs a little more to get them on flour tortilla. Overall, it was very good and very authentic. The only thing is that they don't have an tables or chairs to sit on to enjoy your food but you can't really complain about that about a food truck lol. So I just enjoyed my tacos in my car while watching the bachelorette hehe"
"I've been on the hunt for some good shrimp tacos since my favorite taco places closed after covid. This place did not disappoint! It's small but very modern and cool. They serve chips with a red and green salsa. The green salsa is the bomb! It's very spicy and so flavorful. When I ordered the shrimp tacos on corn, it came with 5. On flour they're bigger and come with 3. The shrimp is garlicky and so delicious. The service was friendly, patient and attentive. The restroom was so clean. Parking lot is big and easy to park. I've been here twice in one week and definitely adding it to my list of great tacos in Houston!"
"This entire week of training on this side of town everyone kept talking about Beltway Burgers. They kept talking about online ordering... and being able to add your desired pick up times. Then most importantly the The Burgers. So today I voyaged 3 minutes away to Beltway. I didn't order online but called it in. I called it in at 10:15a with s pickup at 11:00a. Well I arrived at Beltway at 11:10a with the other 16 people in training with me. Guess what All our orders for 11am we're ready- hot and good.My Beltway add Bacon burger was still hot a juicy when I made it back to the training center. After every bite I had to wipe my mouth. Soooo Good. And the Strawberry Shake-ADDICTIVEMy only wish is that I would have came by here everyday if the week."
"Memorial Tacos is sooooo much fun! The Dancing the food all of it!! I was super impressed with the service and how everything is put together to enjoy a night of Dancing as well. Good times. I'll be back for sure!!"
"I had no expectations going in...what a wonderful supply! Authentic breakfast tacos with homemade flour tortillas and fresh pico de gallo! I will be going back often!"
"The service is excellent as soon as you walk in the door. The food was decent enough. Started with the pepper jack bites. It tasted really good, and you get a lot, but you should for $9.The main entree was the Meatloaf sandwich. The dries were perfect. The sandwich....I probably won't order again.I will definitely be back next time I am in town."
"A group of friends and I came to Low Tide Kitchen & Bar to check out their HRW menu. Honestly, I had never heard of them before prior to their name popping up on the list of participating restaurants. This place is a very unassuming restaurant is in the Spring Branch area kind of near to I10. There was plenty of parking as the restaurant was not busy. Cheyanne was our bartender prior to sitting for dinner and our waitress for dinner and she was so friendly and helpful. A couple of us arrived early and decided to sit at the bar and enjoy a cocktail. I went with The Causeway which was a gin forward drink that was tasty and refreshing. We pivoted over to our table once our whole party arrived. The restaurant wasn't busy at all which was no indication of how good our food and service was. I started off with the seafood gumbo as my starter. I've been on a roll getting good gumbo recently and this one goes on that list too. It had a dark color to it which indicates good flavor and proper cooking. It was filled with pieces of shrimp, scallops and oyster. Very good. For my entree, I was told the Salmon and Risotto was the way to go. Everyone at the table except one person got just that. This salmon was was seared just right and basted with a lemon butter sauce. The flavors were so on point. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect cook on mine. The risotto and green beans were good, but nothing to write home about. I saw bread pudding on the menu and that's always my go to when I see it. It was good, but my friends Granny Cakes and Berry Cheesecake was way better. It's a shame this place was so empty when we came. It's also a shame I live so far because the food was really great. I'm glad I got to try it and would definitely come back if in the area."
