It's very chill inside and they have a decent patio.I ordered one of their specials, the cauliflower crunch wrap with a side of fries. So good and it was prepped super fast! Big portion which left me feeling full the whole day. The cauliflower is thoroughly breaded and super crispy. You don't get a heavy taste of cauliflower which is nice.Love that their menu is extensive with tons of options. Next time I wanna try their nashville "chicken" sandwich!"

Mona T. "Overall Thoughts: LARGE, hearty, flavorful portions of Middle Eastern food at an affordable price point! This is a quick and easy lunch or dinner counter-serve option near the Damen Blue line stop with a diverse selection of plates and sandwiches. Food I tried: I've only tried the Kefta Kabob Dinner so far, and got it with 1/2 curry rice and 1/2 lentils and rice. It also came with a side of tabula, hummus, and pita. I'd recommend the lentils and rice over the curry rice (which I didn't love)-- the lentils and rice is extremely delicious and flavorful. The kabobs were also full of flavor and depth, and the hummus had a full, earthy flavor. I wish the pita came more toasted though. All this food came out to just $14, which was great because I even had leftovers for later. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.7/5Food: 4.6/5Ambience: 4.5/5Service: 5/5Overall Value: 4.6/5"

The flavor combinations offered are delicious (my personal fav is ordering a bowl with both CJ's BBQ sauce & Creamy Cashew sauce). Large portions. SO MANY vegetarian options. They are eco friendly; offering either compostable or reusable containers. To top it off, Brightwok also supports various nonprofits around the community & even recognizes high performing Chicagoland students via gifting complimentary bowls for A's on exams. If you live/work nearby.. this should be your daily lunch spot. I am always happy to support this local business."

I ordered the Chicken Rice Bowl it comes with chicken makhani, chicken tikka masala, chana masala and salad on a bed of basmati rice. It comes with a side of Naan, plain and garlic. Their Naan is so tasty! Also ordered a cocktail. I ordered the Indian Mule. They don't mess around. They are served in a big glass and it has lots of alcohol. Well worth it as well. Highly recommend!"

Clark S. "Staying with my friends, who happen to be vegan, I asked them to take me to their favorite restaurants around Chicago. They brought me to Chef Bill's Amitabul: Healing Buddhist Spiritual Vegan Cuisine. This was one of the most calming, tasty dining experiences I have had!We arrived around 6:45pm on a Friday and immediately were seated at a table in the front of the restaurant, right next to what appeared to be a Buddhist shrine. We were given menus and water and plenty of time to look over the menu. The inside of the restaurant is deep with booths and tables. There were a few others seated but the sound levels were great. It took a little bit for our food to arrive but we were able to enjoy a plate of Mandoo Vegan Dumplings to tide us over. These were delicious and we appreciated the spiced miso sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Chop Chae from the steamed stir veggies section of the menu, with a medium level of spice. Chop Chae is steamed sweet potato noodles with three kinds of mushroom, gathered with veggies. This was excellent! The noodles were so good and I loved all the veggies and the medium spice level was great. This was a surprisingly filling meal; I did not want dessert. HahaI am so glad I got to experience Amitabul! Such a calming environment with friendly staff. I do not follow a vegan diet, but I would have zero hesitation coming back for a meal here!"

Jacob J. "Bonafide "chaat" house. Casual and maintained like a cafe. Not a regular full service restaurant. So if you are planning to meet many friends, I wouldn't put their staff through that hassle. For those wanting to expand their knowledge of what Indian foods can offer. Guy's it's not always about butter chicken! Spice levels are comfortable and kids alike will enjoy. The food is Indian vegetarian. Snacks, fried items, limited desserts and some Indian entree staples. Dosas, idlis, paratha, puffed rice, roti, puri (types of Indian breads) and more. Those are often served alongside chutneys, dips, veg curries and even more. Side note: Most Indians will not order dosas and puris in carry out or delivery. These are breads that are made to eat when fresh. It's at its best when it hits the plate soon after frying. I guess you could try to microwave it but some finesse is needed to get the breads back to a pliable texture. Uru Swati is a household name on Devon that's been in existence for many years. They've experienced some highs and many lows. Somehow though, they keep comin' back around in popularity. A change in staff or getting back to basics can do that. Presently they are on a high in the food preparation side of the business. Best to get it while it's still good."

Service was good and cauliflower tofu sauté was sooo delicious ( tasted like Indian Chinese fusion food) , sushi was delicious and noodles were ok . Didn't like the momo dumplings, very soggy and green chutney on top of dumplings was tasting that well .Drinks were so refreshing and well presented..But we loved everything else we tried . The restaurant is very cozy and would be a great place to hang out with friends over drinks and appetizers. I was quickly greeted by a friendly and high energy employee. Ordering is pretty easy as it is online menu accessible via QR code though I needed some help because I am click happy. I had a difficult time choosing because everything sounded so appetizing! So I finally settled on the greek fries and jackfruit tacos (see pics below). Well, I had couple of fries with their homemade aioli dipping sauce! Yummo! Then the tacos came out and devoured them as the seasoning was perfect and the jackfruit was moist and the texture fantastic! I did order couple of things to go to share with my brother! He agreed....sooooo good! Even though he ate later at night. Last thing, the cold press was extremely refreshing on a hot humid day. This is a must try gem!"

Arya Bhavan is about as good as it can get. Big menu full of classics with plant based takes and you would hardly even know. The prices aren't bad as far as Indian food, plus they give big portions. Came here recently and we didn't know how good it would be. It certainly was better than expected. The place is pretty nice looking but it's still casual, and the owners and staff were very helpful in finding things for individual tastes. It's about $12 or so for an entree. That's about average for Indian food around here. It helps that the portions are big. We got a couple of the classic favorites and were pleased. I got the Organic Tofu Tikka Masala. This used sautéed smoked vegan cheese, and it definitely was a convincing substitute. For sure we need to come here again. It has tons more interesting things to get. The menu is conveniently all vegan so there's no need to ask about ingredients as far as what's acceptable, plus there's a lot that's gluten free as well."

We went to the Downers Grove location and had a great experience! The service was great and I was in and out within minutes. There's ample seating inside! You can also order to-go on the phone or in the restaurant! We got a chicken shawarma bowl and the kufta kabob plate. The bowl I created came with yellow rice (you can get red spicy rice instead), hummus, tabouli salad, tomatoes, red onions, lots of garlic sauce, and red/fire sauce on the side. The plate came with yellow rice, kabobs, grilled tomato and onion, house salad, and hummus. We also got pitas with both entrees, making for the perfect meal! Both of the entrees can be completely customized with types of rice, toppings, and sauces. The meats were both very flavorful, tender, and juicy. The kabobs were grilled to perfection! I would love to try the chicken kabobs next time! Their garlic sauce is AMAZING! Would highly recommend getting some extra on the side because you will use it! I even had left overs for the next day! This is my first time trying Fill A Pita and I'm so excited to go back and try some of the other items on their menu!! It's recommended to get something with falafel of course, but that's just one of the many menu items you can get. Has a variety of meaty and vegetable choices. The prices are pretty affordable for the big portions. After learning a falafel place was way out by Norridge, we made our way here to get a combo. It's just off Irving Park on Harlem. The building is located next to a Middle Eastern market. Gets a lot of people from that part of the world coming here. This is authentic for sure. Both of us got some falafel and combos. It's about $9 for platters. The falafel is good but you also need sides. I got the Vegetarian Combination. This has a few big pieces of falafel, along with baba ghannouch, hummus, Jerusalem salad, pita, and rice. A filling meal. This was enough for lunch and then some. For sure could come here again. The Vada and Idli were perfectly cooked and the side of sambar and coconut chutney paired so perfectly with both. The vegetable korma and porotha was so yummy!
