"This place is all about the ambiance with slightly above average food. The price is justified for the ambiance as you feel like you're in a private greenhouse oasis complete with a large fountain and a huge sunroof. Great place to meet up for a fancy date with friends or family and take in the beautiful furniture in the rest of the building after the cafe. Reservations are a must but pretty easy to get with some planning ahead, especially on weekdays. Their building is accessible which is nice for those with mobility challenges, but the walkways inside the cafe are a bit narrow, so definitely make a note to them when making your reservation!"
"Cool, retro themed coffee shop in wicker park. The coffee options are great if you enjoy sweet, creative concoctions. I always just get the iced vanilla latte. The whole coffee shop is themed to the 90s. There's a model of a delorian from back to the future. Gremlins, Mario bros and other iconic characters sprinkled throughout the shop. Great place to drop in for a coffee of post up for a few hours and get work done."

"We came in on a Sunday morning and were able to be seated immediately in their outdoor patio. The brunch menu has a good variety of options ranging from American standards (pancakes, French toast, eggs with sausage) to more Latin items like tortas, chilaquiles, etc. we opted for the latter; the coffee came out quickly, but the food took some time given it was breakfast food. It arrived at our table lukewarm at best, but the overall flavors were good and the portion sizes were generous. Overall I'd say it was a good experience!"
"The coziest morning vibes!!! Dining is airy and bright with the sweetest service. The pastry case is extensive, but it feels like time slows down as everyone is just browsing with no hurry to move along. I loved it. The honey lavender latte is my current obsession, and the savory scone was to die for! I also got a little cake slice to go and it was the perfect after dinner treat. So happy we stumbled upon the cutest pastry spot. I would happily return!"
"Yum! This little place is serving up some very tasty grub. The Shrimp Po' Mi, a kind of fusiony po boy, was calling my name; I chose the grilled shrimp and, with the Asian slaw and chipotle mayo, it all came together nicely. I would get that sammie again. We shared the sweet potato fries, and those were great too. I don't usually like stuff on my fries, but the sauce, cheese and scallions really did enhance these crispy morsels. I tried a bite of my husband's guajillo pork bahn mi, and that is something I would order. Everything I ate was really good, maybe cravably so. This place has a great menu, with soups, rice bowls, sandwiches and salads to choose from. I'll most definitely return."
"Heads up, if you come on a Sunday morning, the line will be to the door which you know is a good sign. This was my first time here and was overwhelmed with how large their menu is but I got their golden latte (which I think has butterscotch) and got it with less sugar since I read many reviews that their lattes are really sweet. It was super delicious and I tried my friends matcha and that was also delicious. There isn't much room to sit but would be a great WFH location."
"I am revising my review to my experience the saturday before Christmas. I ordered the upcharge of tortilla soup with my lunch. It was nothing like it was a few years back. It was verrry thick, very spicy. When waitress, Barbara, returned with the strips for the soup she forgot, I told her I was unable to eat it. She took it back and brought me fries. Receiving my check I noted she did not remove the upcharge for the soup when I asked her to bring me a correct check she grabbed it, huffed, mumbling to herself and stormed away. Me and the others at my table, who were on a separate check, were dumbfounded. When she returned I calmly said, you have a problem with getting me a new check?!! She gave me a dirty look and again huffed mumbling away.I've come often in 17 years and always had good experiences until now!! (I.e very tall waiter, excellent). This was a bad experience and I wanted her to explain what the problem was and instead her huffing off for the 2nd time, made the bad experience worse.Doubt I'll be back."
"One of the best falafel I've had.Kifta and beef kabob punch were very good. The chicken shawarma was meh. Some sort of sour to it. Not for me.Rice was very basic but with that garlic sauce mixed in made it fire."
"I go here with family, the place is busy because overall pricing and quality is good. Always come home with leftovers. Always have had a friendly greeting and if I get there first they don't mind seating you a little early if there not packed. They're friendly about doing that.Meals have been consistently good and if there's a mistake such as an over cooked burger they offer to make it right, we had that happen last visit. We elected not to, and they comped us dessert, very nice of them. The menu has a lot of choices, from salads, chicken ribs, steaks and so on. You can bring a crowd here and everyone can find something. One of my favorites is their turkey dinner, it's good, You know when you're craving Thanksgiving and it June, this is your go to. You feel that your visit is important to them and they appreciate you're their and that you work hard for your money, just as hard as they do serving you. Mutual appreciation is a nice thing."
"Very good. Brunch menu is a bit short but the quality of the kitchen's output is there. Potatoes were special. Delightful cafe latte."
"Vegan Panini with hummus, eggplant, sun dried tomatoes & arugula is soooooo good! They always have a vegan soup of the day and really good dirty chai lattes. This place has been open for over 15 years. There's a reason why. They're consistent with food quality and customer service. It also helps they open early and close late."

Just beautiful. I have nothing bad to say about this place. How cool is it to shop for furniture while grabbing lunch, all in a historic building? This location was highly recommended by one of my friends who live in Chicago. It is one of her favorites. I highly recommend grabbing a reservation. They are very popular. For the table, we ordered the Delice de Bourgogne Cheese. It was a fantastic choice. The warm bread and cheese combo was so delish and complemented the preserve. I ordered the Roasted Half Chicken, another great choice. The chicken was so tender, was falling off the bones. It was full of flavor, very garlicky, which I would love. It is a great place to grab lunch with friends. Your friend will be impressed, for sure. I highly recommend this place!

I came here for a quick cup of coffee. I ended up just ordering a latte, but regretted not getting one of their speciality coffees. I was given some recommendations after the fact and will definitely be returning to check those out. The latte was still good and despite them completely botching the spelling of my name, their customer service was great. They were friendly and it didn't take long to get my order. Will definitely be returning.

This place always exceeds our expectations!Cafe Con Leche is one of our favorite restaurants because of the freshness and high-quality food they produce and the incredible traditional flavors. Everything tastes amazing! From the appetizers to sandwiches, to their main dishes and desserts and the vibe is super chill! We ordered the Ceviche and it was like a piece of art, and tasted like Zeus himself prepared this dish. Zesty and fresh and the seafood was perfectly balanced. We have had five of the nine sandwiches offered, and they were all fantastic! ... but the Ropa Vieja sandwich / dinner are my faves! The Tampiqueña was phenomenal! A great cut of meat in a very healthy portion will satisfy your appetite.Their breakfast menu is also amazing, try the steak and eggs or the Chilaquiles. Yummm!Their bartenders are artists! They make the greatest cocktails. You must try the tamarind old-fashioned. Wow!All in all always happy to go and sad to leave, but will continue to visit often.See you there!

My mother in law surprised me with a beautiful cake from Bittersweet for Mother's Day. The cake was gorgeous, but the flavors were what made it so special. It was a lemon blueberry made with vanilla cake, lemon custard and blueberry filling, and finished in Italian meringue vanilla buttercream. It was as delicious as it sounds, and we gobbled it up! I really liked how it wasn't overly sweet and how light the flavors were. The cake was delivered with instructions to remove from the refrigerator a few hours before serving, which worked out perfectly. I would definitely try more from Bittersweet's menu after this experience!

Saucy Porka is a solid lunch / takeout spot in the Loop for creative Vietnamese & Latin American fusion. Though overall, it's a bit pricey for the portions (which aren't that large), it offers pretty fair and standard prices for the Loop area. As for Banh mis, so far I've tried the Ropa Vieja Beef Banh Mi, Cheesy Buddha Banh Mi, Soy Ginger Tofu Banh Mi. The banh mis are creative and unique, but tasted pretty average overall. The Ropa Vieja Beef was very flavorful with the meat seasoning and kimchi flavor combo, but the beef was a little dry and the sandwich itself was really soggy. The Cheesy Buddha and Soy Ginger Tofu banh mis were both pretty solid, but neither really stood out for me. I also tried the Tofu, Duck, and Grilled Shrimp Bacos. The tofu baco tasted pretty standard. The duck baco was good, but a bit lacking in flavor, unfortunately. The grilled shrimp taco was my favorite, pairing very well with the sauce and corn toppings for a nice tangy flavor. I've both gotten takeout and dined in here. It's very casual and you sit wherever there's space. The takeout orders are usually filled pretty fast and wrapped nicely.-- Price (relative to peers): 4.1/5Food: 4.1/5Ambience: N/AService: N/AOverall Value: 4.1/5

Small coffee shop with eccentric decorations: bright colors, paintings on the tables, and interesting artwork on all the walls. I really wish there were free WiFi here to do work, but there isn'tWhat we ordered:Chicken pesto sandwich: huge portion. The sandwich is okay, but the pasta was very bland. Maybe I'll try another side next time :)Latte: standardA cool place to hang out briefly. I might try other items on the menu next time

"Would recommend the pancakes just to cross it off a list but overall, they just taste like overpriced sponge cakes that you could get for $1 in Chinatown. They were good, but not $14 good. I think we went in with too much of a high expectation when the $2.50 for "extra fruit" was even smaller, placed inside a little sauce container. The picture displayed is with the "extra fruit."The worst part were the drinks. I can't say anything for the matcha because the menu was placed separately from the other menus you see when you walk in. But the fruit teas were severely watered down. They tasted like water with a hint of fruit. Never wasted a drink until today.Ambiance is cute. Service is decent, but would not come here again."
"I came here for lunch on a Friday. No wait for a table. I got the pabellon arepas. It came out fast and was a big portion. I enjoyed my dish and glad it came with a sauce. I would definitely come back again. They are also BYOB. The guy who runs this place was nice and helpful. They have an outdoor seating area as well."
"Price is good considering they put a lot of ingredients in the dishes! I ordered the chronic wrap and roasted tomato soup -- love the hard boiled eggs and steaks in the wrap, and how creamy the soup is! Service is good - you order at the counter and they give you a number stand for them to bring the food to your table. Interior is simple and bright. Atmosphere is friendly and kind of loud. Perfect for lunch!"
"Definitely go here. This is my favorite coffee spot i've been to in Chicago. The inside is super cute and cozy, and the place is just a breath of fresh air. Service was quick and everyone was very kind. I had the horchata latte and it was my favorite coffee I've had. The food was all interesting and different options. I had the date truffle and it was incredible. I'll def. go back!!"
"Why 5 stars? Because for what I needed, it delivered perfectly. --- --- ---After a heavy lunch, I needed two things: caffeine and something sweet. Good Ambler could not have met these demands more perfectly.I was disappointed that they did not have nitro on the menu and had to settle for cold brew. But I wish I could watch a live reaction shot of my face when I took the first sip - I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It was strong, but not so strong that it overwhelmed you. It's hard to describe, but it was a lot less watery than any other cold brew I've ever had. I'm not sure how they do it here, but this is what all cold brew should taste like.I also grabbed a frosted sugar cookie and it was money. The perfect flavor and not too overwhelmingly sugary to where I felt gross after. Just an ideal snack to pair with my coffee. I nearly went to another coffee shop, but I'm really glad I opted to stop at Good Ambler instead!"
"There's nowhere quite like Scafuri: this family owned cafe/nationally shipping bakery is one of Taylor Street's longest running businesses, and for good reason. It can be cluttered inside sometimes (as is expected from such a massive mail operation) but never dirty. The sweet treats they serve here are affordable and delicious, and the staff are always happy to see you. All in all, Scafuri is an absolute must when you're visiting vibrant Taylor Street"
"Wow, if you like Turkish food or food in general try this. It's wonderful made with love and fresh ingredients. The service, the ambience A plus. The lamb chops were delicious so tender and moist seasoned beautifully . The bread the wonderful dips, beautiful presentation. The staff and the owners top notch. This has been on my radar and was thrilled to finally try this gastronomic delight. If you love top quality fresh food made with lots of love , please come here Huge space great place to have a party.Or dine in for two. They have an outdoor area which is very nice. The indoor area was lovely. Looking forward to coming back with the kids ."
"This was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived around 10:30 and did not have to wait to be seated on a Saturday morning. However, it did fill right up after being seated. Everything on the menu looked amazing and I'll definitely be back to try everything else. The guava nectar was too good! The caribella skilled was good, but could've used some hot sauce of some sort- I did like how they used plantains instead of potatoes. The protein lovers skillet was packed full of several proteins and veggies! The pancakes were okay in my opinion, fluffy but not very flavorful. The wait for food was not too long, but a bit longer due to the space being full of customers. The prices are very affordable too! I would definitely recommend this spot and will be back!"
"Stopped by randomly this morning and ordered a large iced honey & cinnamon oat milk latte and it was DELICIOUS. Very cute place, super friendly service too. Will certainly be back to try more."
"This place has amazing beans and make a fantastic espresso shot, even when they are busy. Event the cold brew was great here. I spent all day on the campus and had to come here twice because of how good the coffee was."
"Another good place for coffee. Dollop is a small cafe along Dearborn. It mainly has coffee drinks but there's also bagels and pastries. Fairly okay prices considering the location and how they would be able to take advantage of office workers looking for something convenient in the morning. The inside has some comfortable couches and a few outlets. It has a good choice of drinks. Many things to get any time of the year, chilled and hot. There's often a seasonal menu along with their regular stuff. Coffee here seems like it's epic. This gives a pretty big jolt so maybe think again if you're ordering a large. Last time here it was pretty warm so I got a cold brew. They had some seasonal specials. I had a Babe On Rocks. It's $5 for the regular size. This is a cold brew with oat milk and spice. Among the food here are bagels and donuts. There's not a whole lot to choose from. I usually get a bagel. It's $3.25 for most. They have a pretty limited selection of toppings. Butter, cream cheese, and jelly. The bagel selection is pretty small too. Clearly they're more focused on brewing coffee. It has some things to eat but nothing that makes a meal. The good thing is the coffee is the best around so they know what works."
"When I worked closer to the financial district, I used to go to Cafecito's locations on Wells and Roosevelt, but that seems like a lifetime ago. So it's been tough to get a decent Cubano or Vieja Ropa samwich. I'm also a big fan of the Philly cheese steak, I love beef and cheese and onions and peppers, etc. so when I saw that Bia's has both sandwiches, along with credible reviews and ratings, I said to myself, "Get yourself over there and get some pronto." There's plenty of pahking on Addison St., fyi. Inside, there are a few tables and there's a long table along the wall, where you can grab a stool and have your meal. You order upfront and they'll bring your food to you. I'm really into protein so I got double meat on both sandwiches. The Cubano comes with roasted ham and ham slices, along with cheese and mustard. The steak sandwich is really where it's at - so tasty and flavored just right. Between the two - the steak sandwich reigns supreme. The empanadas were a little underwhelming but at least I gave them a shot. I believe it's byob, not 100 percent sure though, fact check before you bring your Schlitz. Hope to be back asap and go Cubbies!!"
"I'm usually a regular at the Hyde park location but I stopped in with a friend. I felt as though the menu is slightly different than the other one... the customer service wasn't that great... the cashier wasn't exactly friendly, but idk maybe she wasn't having a good day. The food was good, no complaints. They have a coffee bar inside this location, I don't believe the Hyde park spot has one."
"Our crepes were delicious! We had a party of four and ordered two dessert crepes. Service was not speedy but honestly it gave us a chance to relax and chat. And it was worth the wait. The crepes were fantastic and the cook / server was pleasant. The cleaner they use has a strong scent, but it is not bleach nor is it Pine-Sol scented either, thankfully. The shop is small and has no bathroom. We would visit again to try other flavors."
"I was lucky enough to come with four people and have a feast. Unluckily, I was traveling alone when I was in Georgia back in 2018, and was never really able to eat in my favorite manner, which is to graze from a tableful of dishes at once. Chicago Diplomat gave me back what could have been. Because really, since I left Georgia, I haven't found that many restaurants that do it justice. This did.First and foremost, you gotta have the big, crazy-rich, unfinishable bread boat (adjeruli khachapuri). I would say that this one landed on a cheesier (rather than butterier) side and the cheese was stretchy like a pizza, not crumbly like a feta.I could have taken or left the beet salad - it seemed like it was just beets out of a can covered in a metric ton of cilantro - but their version of eggplant/walnut salad (also covered in a metric ton of cilantro but I think it worked better here) was really good, not dry like it can easily be.The real stars of the show were the two stews: lobio and chakapuli. The chakapuli was impossibly rich, stuffed with lamb meat, overgrown with tarragon, and this strange part-meat-part-fat-part-oil-part-soup texture that would have been perfect with dipping bread had a) it come with it and b) we been able to fit any more food in our stomachs. The lobio was bacon-heavy and tasted like it, but it was herby enough to not weigh you down. This I ate leftover with a roll of paratha, which worked very well.We finished the meal with honey cake and another pastry I can't remember the name of, neither of which I initially had any interest in because I'm not much of a bread heavy dessert person, and also, see above re: not being able to fit any more bread in. But some of us ordered it anyway and I ended up eating three slices of the honey cake because of the grainy, sprout-y heartiness and the sweetness of the layers of honey."
"I think for everyone who had the fortunate of having Asian parents or grandparents that cooked for them while growing up, Tita Mia invokes memories of lots of those flavorful, healthy(ish) comfort foods. Now if you combine this with a giant parking lots, beautiful huge dining room, reasonable prices (for the enormous portions), and fast friendly service you have a winner! You can't really go wrong with anything you order here as everything is pretty much between delicious to very delicious. The lechon kawali is nice and tender with a nice crisp on the skin and comes in a generous portion. The sizzling sisig is filled with umami, with the saltiness tempered down nicely by the onion. The pancit, whether stir fried or in a delicious soup is nice and slurpy and flavorful no matter what you pair it with. The desserts are also amazing here as well. The chocolate cake is full of lots of fudge and not too sweet. The flan is full of caramel, a bit thick but full of delicious eggy flavor and quite smooth. The ube crinkles are like little taro cookie cakes that are sweet and fragrant.Overall, a great place to get a great meal at a great price and be treated like you're family!"
"My employer also enlisted First Slice for our Thanksgiving Pie Give Away. They have a large variety of pies to choose from. In addition to the traditional pies, they also create some unique ones. The s'more and chocolate peanut butter pies looked divine. The rep was helpful and patient with our orders. Pies were delivered on time for the give away. I'd definitely recommend First Slice to my family, friends and companies looking to cater."
"Parking can be a little challenging here since it's directly underneath the blue line with no parking allowed in from the building. This is a great spot for those that need to get some coffee before jumping on the L. The staff here was ok. Not the friendliest of the bunch, but they got my order made in no time and quickly got me on my way. I ordered their hazelnut horchata latte and my wife ordered their maple maca pecan latte. Both were delicious with the horchata latte being my favorite. It was a tad bit on the sweet side but overall a really creative drink. Would definitely consider returning and perhaps trying out a few of their other signature drinks."
"This isn't the first time I've been here. Bia's Cafe has 2 locations. The original one is on Addison near Milwaukee Ave & the High school. This one is located on the SW corner of Addison & Narragansett. Originally this was a hot dog stand that was torn down and Bia's Cafe replaced it.I pass this location all the time as my brother in law lives right down the street on Nagle & Belmont. Duhhhh it took me a while to realize that this was the same owner as the place near Milwaukee & Addison. They have the same GREAT steak & cheese sandwich for a reasonable price. Definitely a place worth checking out. I will absolutely be back again as they have an awesome sandwich for a very affordable price. I mean who doesn't like that in this day of ever increasing cost of living.CHECK IT OUT YOU'LL THANK ME LATER!!!!"
"I actually spotted the sign for Green Tomato Cafe outside of the window upon completing my workout at Lawndale Christian Fitness Center. And prior to leaving the building itself I spotted it next to the exit and just had to stop in to take a gander at its menu. On top of offering free Wi-Fi, a selection of food and beverages, the cafe is clean and spacious with a number of tables, seats, and a area featuring furniture; giving it that comfortable homely touch for relaxation. Furthermore, along with its spacious dining area, Green Tomato Cafe has a beautiful gated outdoor patio for enjoyment during the warmer season.During my initial visit, I enjoyed relaxing on its couch while eating my meal, which was a Bacon, Lettuce, & Tomato sandwich w/ Hi-C) and reading my book post finishing my workout at Lawndale Christian Fitness Center. Yes! It is definitely the perfect place for meetings, studying or to grab either breakfast or lunch. The menu at Green Tomato Cafe consists of your typical cafe selections followed by breakfast, hot cereals, soups & healthy choices of sandwiches & wraps along with a small selection of smoothies and shakes which coincides perfectly post completion of a workout at Lawndale Christian Fitness Center. As for parking, there is an ample amount suitable for members and guests. The main building, Lawndale Christian Health Center has its own lot, plus if it gets congested because of it being highly used, there is neighborhood and street parking near building site, so no worries. And, if you are one that does not drive, yet familiar with Chicago Transit Authority, the building sits not too far in-between CTA Pulaski & Central Park - Pink Line which makes it an easy commute to-and-from. Thomas G"
"The Colectivo has tons of seating and a great ambiance. I would say the drip coffee is just OK, but the coffee drinks are good! The burritos are good, the bowl not so much. My one gripe is that the internet doesn't seem reliable (sometimes it's spotty, sometimes not working at all). It's a shame because I really get in the zone when I work there!"
