We had the most wonderful time yesterday. The girls at the front desk were so pleasant and polite. Good job hiring them. Overall atmosphere was fun, bustling. Place is very clean and smells nice. Our server William was a happy you d man, helped us with a smile. I liked him.ALL the appetizers were outstanding. We had lamb kebob, beef kebob, chicken kebob as entrees.Lamb kofta was the most tender and flavourful. Rest of them were made to perfection tooI'd love to come back hee again. Just to chat with the girls up front at the bake section and sample yummy goodies

Suraya has a very upscale feel and a buzzing atmosphere all in the right way. The restaurant decor is well done and the outdoor space is very aesthetic with the canopy tree tunnel for some tables. We ate inside the dining room, where the tables are a little too close to the neighboring tables. I could overhear all the conversations of the tables next to me, which makes it a less private dining experience. However, the service is very attentive with the wait staff switching the plates and utensils in between courses and checking in frequently. The food is delicious and the best bite I had was the hummus. The hummus has a great consistency and tastes great and has a great pairing with freshly baked pita that comes out warm from a paper bag. The halibut kabobs were good but could use some more seasoning and the oyster mushroom kebabs were also good but not amazing. The desserts were delicious, with the apricot ice cream being the perfect combination of sweet and tart. It did take a long time to receive our entrees but the waitstaff acknowledged the delay and was apologetic. Definitely worth checking out Suraya in Philly!

This place was PACKED on a Monday night which is how you know it is both a neighborhood and Philly favorite. Ambiance is similar to your normal trendier restaurant with dim-ish lighting and pretty considerable background noise. There is a kitchen situated in the middle of the action but doesn't detract from the experience whatsoever. We did the tasting menu, and luckily it is not one where the whole table has to commit to eating the same thing per course as some other places have you do.The dip spread was good, but given the bar set by the likes of Laser Wolf / Zahav, it was just ok. My favorite dish I think was the lamb sausage (hot mezza). It was perfect texture, and the slight sweetness of the molasses from the sauce had me wanting more. Entree-wise, the salmon kebab was melt in your mouth good, while the beef kebab had an aftertaste that had me second guessing if I actually liked it or not. Overall the tasting menu is great bang for your buck in my opinion.I look forward to coming back for the famous brunch tasting menu!

Suraya is still one of my fav places. The atmosphere is great, not too loud and the food/service is great. Wish we had more lunch items on the dinner menu. We tried the ribeye for 2 and was great

I've been wanting to try Suraya for a while now and I'm so glad I finally did! The restaurant is so beautiful both on the inside and outside. My friends and I sat outdoors and it was so easy to forget that we were still in Philly! For appetizers I tried the hummus and the muhammara. Both were delicious but the muhammara was definitely my favorite as the flavors were super unique! I also loved the freshly made pita. For my main course I got the Samke Harra. The waiter warned me that this dish is spicy and I love spicy food so I was super excited to try it. It did not disappoint! While I have a pretty high spice tolerance so I didn't find it super spicy, the fish was so well seasoned and full of flavored. I also loved the sauce it was paired with. The branzino also came with a side of rice which was fluffy and delicious. The service was also great. Our waiter was so nice and extremely knowledgeable about both the drinks and food.Overall I was extremely pleased with Suraya; it lived up to the hype and I'd love to come back to try more things on the menu.

Pre-fixe weekend evening menu is a killer deal. Definitely recommend going with a group that likes to share. All the cold dips with fresh pita are included AND ON TOP OF THAT each person gets to order an additional appetizer. Each person also orders their own full-size entrée and they bring a variety of desserts. So, you basically get to try most of the menu! It was SO much food and all of it was delish. Cocktials are tasty, too. Recommend.

My 5-star update was long due. We went for desserts only and obviously got the "Kunafe for two". My husband also got some Arak to go with the Kunafe. I love Kunafe and have had it pretty much everywhere I can find it. This had to be one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had. The top was crispy and super flaky and the cheese inside was very melty - not chewy at all. The presentation was absolutely to die for, I loved the addition of pistachios and rose petals. They served it with rose syrup and poured some of it while leaving the rest for us to decide if we wanted it more sweet. I love tiny details like this! The server was super friendly and extremely nice to us. On top of that, they gave us complimentary bites AND took a ton of pictures for us which made the entire experience so wholesome.

Gorgeous place, great setup for family style sharing on Saturday nights. Drinks could be better. Large space, nice outdoor area. Service was adequate, some waiting but not bad.

What an amazing experience! Walking in to the pastry shop and market them moving to the bar and indoor dining area, then outside to the gardens. The place is huge and the staff so extremely helpful and attentive. The brunch was amazing. The fresh pastries were out of this world. The humus and yogurt dips, fresh pitas, the fries, and of course the drinks! The lamb halabi kabobs were delicious as well as oyster mushroom fasolia fatar and chicken shish taouk dishes. The Turkish eggs were a hit. Definitely will be back for the dinner menu.

We did the $42/person lunch which featured 5 different sauces to have with warm pita and a main entree - we tried the branzino (we got an alternate version without tree nuts and enjoyed it a lot more - fresher, pesto-chimichurri sauce, with lots of lemon), chicken and beef kebabs. The chicken was succulent and perfectly crisp/grilled and the branzino was so soft and well seasoned; paired nicely with the rice.We ate in the outdoor garden which was so stunning and relaxing - would highly recommend getting a Resy for the garden, as the weather is warming up and for pictures!
