My friends and I came here on a Sunday as part of an informal West Philly food tour; it was our first stop and it was a great one!Since I knew we had several stops ahead of us, I didn't want to fill up too much. I ordered the Enguday (teff flour fried mushrooms) with a garlic aioli sauce that were absolutely delicious. The batter on the mushrooms was perfectly spiced. My friend got a side of collard greens which I tried; they were really flavorful but unfortunately a little bit too salty for me.Overall, solid eats!

My daughter picked out Doro Bet as she was craving for African food. We drove to Cedar Park on a pleasant August Sunday. The Cedar Park area is a really cool and vibrant section of Philadelphia. We found parking right on Baltimore Ave.The restaurant's interior is very nice and extremely clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. What we ordered:Fried Chicken Aliche (Mild) 1/2Doro WotBiriz drinkKerkede drinkThe fried chicken was very, very good. The flavor on the chicken and the crispiness was excellent. The chicken was moist on the inside. The Door Wot was also very good. A flavorful chicken stew with Ethiopian bread. The Biriz drink was interesting. It was made of Fermented Honey, Tumeric and water. At first it tasted a little odd, but it increasingly became more delicious. The Kerkede was also good and was Hibiscus tea with Cardamon. All in all this was a great eating experience and some excellent food. I would definitely return and soon also. 4.5 Yelp Stars!!!!

I got 2 Too Good To Gos here. Both appropriately priced. One of the containers was very similar to a TooGoodToGo I got from Alif Brew but Doro Bet has more entree options on the regular and the food looks to be prepared in a slightly higher quality to me. So they are priced reasonably at 4.99 per deal as Alif Brew is priced at 3.99 appropriately as well. Alif's injera (I had to look up what this spongy bread was) actually has more combination of things, and it is good too. Staff is friendly. The other container was creamy macaroni and chicken. I enjoyed this serving a lot.I have heard mixed things about this place from others- sometimes the containers are a good deal and sometimes not apparently.

Doro Bet was on my list of new spots to try for a while. I've tried most famous wing spots in the city, but Ethiopian fried chicken was a new one to me. I visited for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant has a fast casual setup. Orders are placed at the counter, and your name is called once your food is ready. The signature fried chicken they're known for is offered as a 3-piece half chicken or 6-piece whole chicken. I liked the simplicity of either the Aliche (mild lemon pepper) or Awaze (spicy Berbere) flavor options. Both are dry coatings on top of buttermilk fried chicken. I was with family, so we decided to order three whole chickens: two Awaze and one Aliche. We also ordered some Addis Fries. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes. I was impressed after only a few bites, which means a lot for someone as picky as I am about fried chicken. The breading had the perfect thickness. It stuck to the chicken very well, which you don't always get at other chicken spots. The dry coating was surprisingly very enjoyable. I'm not a huge lemon pepper fan, so I preferred the spicy coating over the mild. The Addis Fries were solid; crinkle fries don't usually do it for me, but the spice and crispness were spot on. Doro Bet provided a great experience overall. Their chicken taps into a specific niche that hasn't been done by other spots in Philly. I wish I had tried it sooner, but I'm sure I'll be back in the near future.

Greeted with a smile and kind service and knew automatically this place is worth it. The store is super clean and easy to find. The wait wasn't long (came here on Tuesday at noon). Might be busier on the weekends.Food: i opt in for spicy which to me is level 2 out of 5. Chicken came out super crispy/crunchy, and juicy! I do have to say most of the flavors stay within the outer part, the meat could have more seasonings for me.Price: nothing outrageous. $10.50 for the 3 pieces from Uber Eats.I would try this place again and get their other options.

Got take out from here last week. We've been hearing about this place for ages now so we were excited to try it out. Not a massive menu which was nice. We got a chicken sandwich, collards, mac n cheese, and the doro tibs. Food was ready on time and packaged well. Nice vibe inside - everyone was super nice, welcoming, and helpful. Food smelled FANTASTIC in the car. We loved the mac n cheese - not just greasy and overly cheesy but a nice flavor. Collards had a nice little kick too em too and were nice. Fried chicken for the sandwich was well cooked but only took up about half of the sandwich so it was both a mess to eat, and several bites had no meat. Injera had that nice fermented flavor, but the meat itself was quite bland honestly which was a bummer. Its tough because there are so many amazing Ethiopian restaurants around here. Had a few of our friends Addis fries. The spice was great but the fries themselves were just fine. So unfortunately didn't really live up to the hype. Nice service, great sides, but the main dishes we ordered weren't the best.

Wow - the fried chicken here is so good! I've seen posts of this place on TikTok and came to try it. My picture isn't the best-l bc I was in a rush to eat it. The flavor is nothing like any of the fried chicken I've ever had and honestly I don't even know how to explain it. It's a little bit different but so good. The next best thing about it is that the chicken was juicy! The wait after ordering does take some time just as an FYI.

West philly has always had a good selection of African food. I decided to try Doro Bet after hearing wonderful things about their chicken wings. The sign in the window says how the chicken wings come out fresh (within 15 minutes). It might be worth it just to eat on site (as it might be a better experience). Sadly, we ordered this to go. The chicken wings were average in my opinion. It wasn't spicy but I did like the amount of breading they put on the chicken wings.I tried the Doro Wot which was basically a chicken strew that come with injera. I wasn't a big fan. The chicken was average but the injera wasn't my most favorite thing on the menu. I've never had injera before (so I am sorry to criticize) but it is like a fluffy bread that has the consistency and taste of a cardboard pancake. The best item hands down was the Shawarma Sandwich. Not to sound like a basic American but WOW. I loved how it was grilled and the shawarma was definitely made fresh. I would 100 percent order the shawarma sandwich.

Outstanding food, friendly service. Safe for gluten-free needs. Among the few Ethiopian spots I've visited with true, GF injeera. Food was ready quickly & was delicious. Will be returning once in town again.

The food here was delicious. The Doro wot was a bit spicy but exactly what I wanted they give you so much bread as a side. My kids enjoy the macaroni and cheese.
