"This is the OG boba spot of the city. I remember coming here quite frequently a few years back but eventually it fell off my radar because I wanted to try other places etc. Over the years I have tried many flavors including Taro, Thai tea, Sakura rose etc and their quality of flavors and boba has always been consistent. I got the premium jasmine milk tea, which is just 25 cents more than the normal jasmine tea, so why not. I haven't seen the Jasmine flavor offered at many places so I was super excited about it. It is so refreshing and I am glad it is only mildly sweetened. The sesame is interesting if you like the flavor (not for me but my husband loves it). It reminded me of sesame sweets and I am not a big fan of those."
"Quaint full-service restaurant with Ethiopian food. About half the food is Ethiopian, and the other half is (American) sandwiches and soup. I got the sega alecha (beef stew). Came with injera bread (a sour, spongy flat bread made from teff). Definitely different from the usual fare."

Acai is an antioxidant-packed superfruit native to the Amazon rainforest. Here at SoBol, we blend frozen acai berries, strawberries and bananas to make a thick fruit puree. We then parfait the puree between two layers of our homemade granola. (Contains cashews and almonds) The bowl is then topped with blueberries, sliced bananas, strawberries, a sprinkle of coconut and a drizzle of honey. Please specify any allergies.

"We came here for lunch. It was such a great experience. The prices are great for what you get. They offer milkshakes, burgers, chicken and more."
"My neighbor brought me here for lunch. And I'm so happy he did. I was mildly familiar with Ethiopian food before this. I've been learning through our neighbors. After this meal I want to learn so much more. I went with the special beef tibs on the mild side. The flavor and tenderness were extraordinary. Paired perfectly with the injera And I love the iced coffee. Ethiopian coffee is special. Highly, highly recommend this place!"
"I ordered Hibiscus via Uber Eats. I wanted something fresh and healthy. I haven't eaten at this place in a while, so it was a perfect choice to get back to loving their food. They give good portions and good flavors. I ordered the super powers smoothie, garden wrap salad and salmon platter with veggies and jerk sauce. I definitely could've bought two of the super power smoothies because it was so refreshing and tasty. The super power smoothie contains, blueberries, strawberries, antioxidants, gogi berries, sea moss and rice milk. I was initially interested in ordering it because it has the added bonus of sea moss. The smoothie is a beautiful dark red or purple color and has a thick consistency. I couldn't wait to drink it from the look alone. I'm definitely thinking about getting another smoothy soon. Maybe one of their green goddess smoothies. The salad is a very simple and delicious. It has fresh crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and avocado and a side of sesame vinegarette dressing. It was wrapped in a tortilla and cut in half. The portions was enough for one hungry person. I also ordered the salmon platter option with brown rice, sautéed veggies and jerk sauce. The jerk sauce was a good flavor and little spicy. The brown rice was accompanied with brown beans and the salmon cooked well. I was given a lot of salmon, enough to share a piece with someone else. The meal was so filling I couldn't eat it all. Wish I lived closer get smoothies everyday. I've never actually went into the store. This is my first time ordering via Uber eats and the previous time someone ordered it for me. Will visit soon!"
"YUM YUM AND YUM!! Best breakfast meal I've had in years! And the staff was lovely. I wish I had took a pic of the food but I inhaled it. I'll be back for sure! PS- I had the fish and grits."
"So this place was a bit of a let down for me. The décor was nice and the service was fast and friendly. But they were out of several appetizers and sides. No Mac and cheese bites, no tater tots, no onion rings etc. I went on a Sunday afternoon and we had reservations. The price point for the sides was also excessive for the size. I ended up getting truffle fries and it was $12 for the fries pictured. I could see if it was a basket or something but it was a very small serving for that price point. The burger was good and the price was reasonable at $15I don't think I'll be back."
"Instant save! All vegan food, fresh pressed juices, ample seating, plants all around, and oganic/natural products for sale.We ordered two juices that were delicious, exactly the flavored you'd want and expect when you buy something that's fresh pressed.Breakfast is served all day so my table ordered two vegan egg sandwiches that were tastey. Whatever sauce they use had a little heat and plenty a flavor - definitely a plus! The sandwich itself was loaded with onions, lettuce, cucumber, pickles and tomatoes with a chikepea based egg, which as a vegetarian, I certainly enjoyed.I'm not from the area so I usually look for vegan places when I'm traveling and Nourish is on my places to revisit when I'm in town.Street parking."
"Easy online ordering process, delicious açaí bowls, and lots of customizations make this SoBol a winner in my book. I haven't tried a ton of the bowl-style chains in the area as I tend to make fairly delish smoothies and bowls from home when the craving hits, but grabbing lunch delivery totally hit the spot. I appreciate the use of agave in their standard açaí bowl - perfect amount for a not-overly-sweet experience. You can add all kinds of things like peanut butter, fruit, etc, but keeping the classic as is was fabulous. I appreciated the speedy delivery and the fact that my bowl was still frozen perfection upon arrival to my home. I imagine they do a great large order service as well in the event you're looking to mix up your office lunch or breakfast. Will order again!"
"This coffee is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Found this when my daughter was at Abington hospital having our first grandchild... love Jenkintown, my first apt was there years ago ... needed a good cold brew and hubby found this place ... it was the best ... always told everyone about this gem in Jenkintown, made me wanna move back to the neighborhood lol anyway I'm up in Bucks County and saw they now sell the brand at Bolton's Turkey farm market which is so close to me .... I was THRILLED! Made my first batch of cold brew with it and it was awesome !!! Thanks for having it available there ,"
"Worth the hype.I went to Asad's Hot Chicken on a Sunday afternoon and waited 10 minutes to order. The line was 7 people in front of me and stayed around 5-10 people the whole time I was there. After ordering, the food took another half hour. They give you a ticket number and have a digital ticker on the building that shows the current order number. They brought out 2 or 3 orders at a time, about every 10 minutes or so. I ordered the #4 since I wanted to try both the slider and the chicken tender. There's 5 heat levels, ranging from no spice to reaper. I went for "hot" which is the level in the middle. It was a good level of spice, the kind that makes your nose water a little but doesn't overwhelm the food. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly: juicy and tender meat with a crispy breaded outside. It also came with a good amount of seasoned fries and their "secret sauce" (similar to spicy mayo). The #4 came with one tender, one slider, and fries for $11.99. It might not seem like a lot of food but the tender was huge and the slider was more like a burger size. If I hadn't been starving it would've been enough for 2 meals. There's no place to sit and eat since Asad's is located in the parking lot of a gas station, but that wasn't a problem since I drove and ate in my car."

Decent Ethiopian food. We visited Almzaz Cafe late on a Friday afternoon, and it was completely empty. The dining area is small and spread over two floors. There was ostensibly Ethiopian iconography on the walls and a large TV visible from the upper floor. I ordered the Alicha Misir. My dish was not bad, but it was not the most flavorful Ethiopian dish that I have had. Overall, I had a decent experience at Almaz Cafe and would only recommend them if you are craving Ethiopian food.

The service was the best part about our experience. Our server (I think her name was Erin?) was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself had a cool 50s vibe. It was busy, but we were seated immediately. The milkshakes and soda fountain were incredible. The cheesesteaks were perfectly fine, but there are better options if you are only interested in food. The menu had enough variety that even my picky kids found meals they liked.

Decided to get some late breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem There IS limited seating so if you are in a rush, maybe wait until you're not for this cafe. BUT the wait was well with it! The staff were friendly and busting their butts to keep up with a completely full house. I enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. It was a little loud, but again, all the tables were full, so that's expected. The food: DELICIOUS.We both had the Welcome Home breakfast special. I got over easy eggs, toast, home fries, and turkey bacon. Husband had the cheesy eggs, grits, turkey sausage, and English muffin. It was all good!!! I know this is stupid but the butter was melted on the toast and English muffin As silly as it sounds, that isn't the standard anymore, so I was thrilled when a small detail like that is being done correctly! Finally, we got the best surprise of all when we found out that there was a special batch of BANANA PUDDING available to take home. Secret menu item.... I hope they have it next time.... And wish I would have bought two because we fought over who got the last bite! Can't wait to go back!

Came here on a Friday evening and it was empty. We still had poor service, without refills, food was served barely warm, and the air conditioner was off leading to the sweats. The portions, particularly for $10 sweet potato fries, were offensive. Burger was tasty but won't be back.

"Fast, friendly service at a place that is open around the clock. I grabbed a 'business breakfast' here, and it was decent food with a very nice diner feel. Loads of options, but I went with an omelet. Plenty filling, and priced right!"
"We had a great experience this last time around. I had the best service, the tastiest and most tender chicken wings I have ever had. Round of applause for the cheesesteak with cooper this was my favorite of the two sandwiches. Loved sitting outside/ at the bar when it's nice outside. Pay them a visit for a sports game or just a good place to grab a drink and a solid meal"
"The deluxe breakfast sandwich (#1) on a bagel was INCREDIBLE. I don't normally like breakfast foods, but dang-- I might actually have to come back. The bagel and cream cheese was excellent, the chai latte was way too sweet."
"Food bribes still work on 19 year olds when m2o Burgers is the bribe. I needed help picking up some heavy furniture not far away. "...and we can stop for m2o afterwards..." sealed the deal. The thing is, while the NMA had gotten delivery from here quite often and had been by, I had not. The setup is basically identical to the previous tenant in the space, Elevation Burger. We came in, ordered on a touch screen for takeout, then sat back and watched a team of folks work seamlessly to cook and package many orders. It was somewhat mesmerizing. They were super busy but never lost their rhythm, and about 25 minutes or so later it was our meal being created. We filled up our drink cups (red birch beer yum!) and headed home. I got the burger with lettuce, tomato and a pretzel bun. The NMA got a cheeseburger on potato roll. I have to say it was a really excellent fast serve burger. Juicy with good flavors. Fries were also very good and held up well in takeout. I can see why they're so busy, and recommend ordering ahead if possible. I definitely will be next time."
"Delcious vegetarian restaurant. They have a easy online ordering site. Its a unique little place. I love the food, its a generous portion size and taste yummy!"
"Cute little juicery located on spring garden & 20th street. It's very conveniently located as there are multiple gyms around the area. There are string light decors outside and the interior walls colored with health benefits of the ingredients they use. They have 2 outdoor tables available for you to sit and enjoy under the tree shade. Something about this place just makes you feel peaceful and relaxed. I got the OG acai bowl and it comes with peanut butter. I'm not sure about this but it tasted like the peanut butter was blended in with the acai mix - and it tasted so good! Especially after a morning workout. The consistency of the blend is not running which I love! They give you so MUCH acai blend (feels like a 7:3 acai blend to topping). Most acai places I've been don't give you as much and some even have like a 50/50 topping to blend ratio. I love this place and the staff were all very friendly. Definitely come try this place especially if you're working out around the area! I would make this my daily routine if my wallet could afford it :')"
"Great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Offers unique blends of ingredients as well. I was surprised at the quantity of smoothie I received....and yes, I finished it!"
"This restaurant has 2 tables and 2 separate rolls.of seating. Really reminds you of a small vietnamese Cafe. This place was on my husband's list of food places to check-out. We were greeted and seated right away. They also have off menu specials. Ofcourse, I tried the Banh Canh cau which is a seafood tapioca noodle soup dish. This was pretty good. All of the ingredients were fresh and even the quail eggs. I really enjoyed the chewy noodles and soup broth. My husband got the bo kho with bread. He said that was good. I added goi cuon which is a summer roll (rice roll with shrimp, pork, lettuce and vermicelli noodles), I was in for a surprise with these rolls. They were huge. The sauce was phenomenal. Homemade sauce that tasted better then any other I have ever had. So you know I had to order one to go.We also got a Vietnamese hoagie to go (dac biet).Have not tried it yet but will report back.Parking is a plenty and metered outside. They close earlier then most restaurants. The plus is they also do catering. The staff were very nice and spoke English very well."
"We stopped by La Tartine for lunch and enjoyed two soups of the day (sweet potato and corn and also butternut squash) with zaatar pita chips. We also had delicious, enormous beef shawarma wraps that seemed twice as big as any shawarma wrap that I had before. The food could not have been any better. The soups were hearty and filling and the wraps were full of perfectly cooked beef. The staff, including the owner, were super friendly! You order at the cash register and they bring you your meal. They have two tables outside and plenty of indoor seating. The restaurant has a wide selection of crepes, Mediterranean specialties, and bottled and canned drinks, homemade juices, and Lebanese coffee. For dessert they have two types of baklava and croissants. Definitely worth a visit!"
"If you are a lover of Açaí bowls then this spot should be on your list. It is a great neighborhood spot for a healthy meal. You can order there and the bowls are prepared quickly by very friendly staff or you can order online and pick up. Online orders are easy and make it simple to customize your bowls."
"Tea-Do does bubble-tea so well! I swear no other boba shop in the city makes better taro boba than Tea-Do! I also got takoyaki to go along with my boba. Their takoyaki is always freshly made and comes out piping hot! It's delicious with the octopus inside and the bonito flakes on top! 6 pieces for $3.50 is also a steal. Tea-Do also has other snack options such as gyoza, onigiri, & edamame to eat with your boba. Boba can be customizable too! Tea-Do is a great place!"
"I alternate between here and SoBol, but honestly I prefer here (Playa) so much more. The menu is longer with more options to mix and match and I like their default options more. SoBol has a better granola mix (granola, nuts, pumpkin seeds), but Playa has more fruit options. Playa also pours less honey than SoBol does which is always a plus for me because it's easier to ask for extra honey rather than remove it once it's poured. I usually stick with the Tropical bowl; occasionally you can tell they removed the pineapple recently from the freezer, but it's appreciated on hot days.Worth stopping by to try different combinations. Service is always fast and it's never crowded."
"This was one of my go to spots for lunch when I was in the office. I haven't been to the office much since the pandemic and was so happy to see this business still open and thriving! Great smoothie and açai options to choose from. Everything is freshly made right in front of you. I always order the chipotle black bean burger or açai bowl. This time I went with the classic samba bowl, which is a tad bit pricey but they do give you a generous amount of fresh fruit and granola. Plus it's delicious and healthy so you can't go wrong with it.Service has always been great here. I just noticed for the first time that they have a beyond burger + smoothie combo for a great deal so I'll definitely check that out next time."
"Rolled ice cream is a work of art and this place knows how to make it! Topped with all kinds of lovely toppings, this is a delicious treat and enough for two to share in my opinion. We ordered the Brownie Boy; vanilla ice cream with bits of brownie chopped into it, flattened and rolled to perfection. Topped with whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate syrup, an Oreo and a little animal cracker! The place has some seating inside and a few tables on the outside. It's located on a busy corner, you'll have to find street parking. We arrived in the evening on a weekend night when it was busy but the orders came out in a timely manner."
"I made reservations to dine with a friend and they honestly weren't needed. We arrived at 1230 on a Sunday and there was only one other table of two. The decor was nice and the staff was friendly. This location is a BYOB but we just opted to get mocktails. Our meals took longer than expected considering there was only one other table. I opted for the fried chicken benedict and my friend got the breakfast burrito. My fried chicken could have used some more seasoning and my meal did not come with a side which was disappointing. They also add an automatic 20% for gratuity regardless of party size. Overall this place was just okay. I don't see myself coming back."
"Bread & Butter in the Cedarbrook/East Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia is a Korean owned breakfast/lunch restaurant that is primarily a take out joint with a few tables along a wall for those of us who prefer to eat when our meals are right from the grill. I stopped in around 10 recently for their Veggie Omelet (onion, green pepper, mushroom, tomato and cheddar cheese), Home Fries with fixings, Rye Toast and Coffee. Service was friendly and attentive and the meal filling. But, there were a few things of note that were problematic. First, everything came served in To Go styro, with prepackaged plastic flatware. Even the decent hot Java came that way - all throw away recyclables and single use materials. I guess that is cheaper than having a working dishwasher, but ecologically unsound, and not designed to make anyone feel at home. Second, the only green vegetable in the omelet was chunks of green pepper, making for a bland taste saved only by the melted cheddar (an up charge). Third, same was true for the extra topping mixed into the home fries; more of the same onion and green pepper from the omelet that wasn't sautéed enough to be soft and pliable when stirred into the potatoes for the expected savory flavor. Forth, the taters while plentiful, were somewhat dry and mealy, rather than a pleasant texture and chew. Too many corners cut here to show appreciation for the customer. Someone with culinary skills should examine the otherwise good menu to be sure the right ingredients are being used to present the best version of these dishes. My breakfast was certainly not. Edible, but regrettable. Could have been so much more."
"While another Playa Bowls is my favorite location ever for acai bowls, this spot needs some work. I pretty much live for acai bowls. I swear they have addictive properties in these wonderberries. When I'm not actively eating them I am daydreaming about them. So this is why I'm super hype to eat them and super destroyed inside when they are messed up. Playa forgot my apples. They didn't forget to charge me for my apples, and definitely repeated the work "apple" back to me when I placed my order, but alas, there were no apples. I was devastated. My bowl tasted like disappointment. I will go back because I have faith in Playa Bowls and the wonder that is the acai berry, but that doesn't mean this didn't sting."
"Yum. We left the office for lunch and headed to have a good old fashioned Nifty Fifties meal.Slow for a Tuesday at 12, some were waiting for takeout. Our waitress wasn't as good and attentive as others in the dining area. The table shared cheese large fries, should've gotten the small. The order of onion rings, so, so good. No onion pulled out of the breading.Diner 1: 5 piece chicken fingers plus Oreo shake, breading was cornmeal like. So good. Plus a lemonade - looked fresh squeezed Diner 2: double ring burger plus the cheesecake Oreo milkshake and bottle of water. They don't let you drink the fountain water, had to buy a bottle. Diner 3: me- double cheeseburger with fried diced onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo so good. Probably could've done the single. Had a root beer soda. The place seemed clean. And busy. Would go back. It had been years since we went to the McDade Blvd one. It was a total of $83 with tip."
"Great little spot down the street from my childhood friends place. Family run for espresso, salads and a sandwich. Super friendly customer service and several tables to sit while enjoying your food and beverages. Top notch customer service. Treat yourself you deserve it."
"I was pleasantly surprised that they had so much more than smoothies!!!! The atmosphere was very vibrant, clean and welcoming. You can see your food being prepared, which is a bonus. I had the began sandwich which was pretty good. Along with my smoothie was very fulfilling. I can't wait to return to try a salad and all of the smoothies."
"I don't know how I didn't find or know about this place sooner, but I'm so glad I found it. It was just what I needed after my 2.5mil run. Philly Marathon weekend training just got a little bit more easy."
"A+ excellent food, excellent service and over all amazing. The food is healthy and a great choice."
"I was so glad when this place opened in the neighborhood and I could not wait to try some of the healthy bowls or burritos or even the empanadas I have been hearing about! Came here with the family to support the local business and was greeted by staff who explained the salad or burrito building concept. The food items are named after famous Philly sports athletes which is cool. I ordered the "Chamberlain" salad with chicken, chickpeas, onions, and a cilantro lime dressing. The salad was pretty huge and I could only finish half! Definitely will be back to try a burrito!"
