Food was great, service was good and this is the second time I have been here. Got to app to order is the ceviche trio. So yummy and fresh. Queso flamed with mushrooms and onions a taste treat as well. There are no freezers here. All food is farm to table and the taste reflects it!Will be back soon. Waiter told us that after next week they will be adding lunch and brunch. Very happy to hear this.

Incredible! Let me begin by stating that we have an incredibly high bar for Tex-Mex, and dine out weekly to try different local varieties. We judge Tex Mex based on 4 things: frozen margarita texture/flavor/strength, chips and queso (cheese texture/flavor), beef fajita (quality/ flavor), and cheese enchiladas (again- cheese texture/quality). La Viva gets a "A+" across the board, and the hidden bonus is its GREAT prices and we love the location. Also the staff is attentive and great personality. It is apparent it's run by a superb owner/operator. It's absolutely the best Tex Mex option north of northern Heights/Oak Forest/Garden Oaks. And an added amazement: the tres leches is seriously the best we've ever ever had We have already recommended to all our friends and neighbors! And plan to be back weekly! Gracias, La Viva, for being our new favorite spot!

wow. service was unbelievable! we had the happy hour margaritas and the seven layer dip. we thought we couldn't eat anymore, but the crispy tacos kept calling to us. I hate crispy tacos that fall apart, are super greasy, or have so much stuff on them that you can't take a bite. These were perfect. No grease, slightly spiced, and just enough toppings that i could eat them without having to get a fork or spoon to finish them. Charros were very nice too!Only drawback (and it's just a little one), they kept pushing us to order and move on, I guess cause there was a line. I wanted to relax and slowly sip my margarita but I kept being asked every 3-5 minutes if we could order. Ended up leaving part of my drink because they cleared my table of chips and stuff and gave us the check before I was finished with my drink. Maybe I need to sit at the bar next time

Saw a new spot was coming to the old Berry Hill and was excited to see it was a Mexican restaurant. After scoping the menu, decided to try their happy hour on a Friday evening. Arrived around 5 PM and was able to get seated right away. Server was very enthusiastic to take our order, we had to let her know we wanted to enjoy our drinks first before ordering. The happy hour drink menu is nice as well as the food options. Ceviche is only think I wouldn't get again. It's small and not worth $13. By the time we left around 6:30 there was a line out the door. Will definitely be back!

Wow! So this used to be a Berry Hill but now it's been taken over by La Viva. It was packed when we went as they recently just opened and it was great! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the food was really good as well. I was told that the owner used to work at Pappasitos so the flavors were great! Let's start with the margarita, I am a margarita snob. The consistency has to be smooth and I don't like those cheap lime mixes. This place has a pretty decent margarita and is strong! I would rate it an 8/10. The chips weren't my favorite, they were kinda stale and I like less salt and oil so there I give a 5/10 but the red salsa was fresh and flavorful so I give that a 9/10. The 7 layer dip and the queso were creamy and good and those get a 8/10 and the guacamole gets a 7/10.The fajita meat was so tender and soft and the tortillas were great as well so that plate gets an 8/10 because I also take into account the rice and beans that were just not the greatest but still good. There is plenty of parking and the service and vibes were great so all that gets a 10/10 for me. Overall this is a great new spot in the neighborhood and I will for sure go back!!

Actually so good! Faghitas hit the spotttt. Place was really cute aswell. Everything came out super quick, and our server was sweet. Would definetly recommend if you're in the area looking for a bite!

Service was very good, especially so soon after opening this new restaurant. In general it has nice interior decor but could use a little more pizzazz, especially in the bar area which is very open. They could use a pony wall behind the chairs where people could stand and have pre-dinner drinks. I have to say that for a second restaurant from this group, they are off to a good start and a Mexican food place in this location at this price point is a great anchor restaurant for this part of Oak Forest. We've been there twice and the food was consistently good. The fajitas for one gives a good portion of fajita beef which has a great flavor and is cooked perfectly cooked - tender and juicy. Giving a 4 for now because I'm hoping to see a step up in the consistency of the frozen margaritas and would like to see some more aesthetics added.

Chris .... That is not necessary. We will go back for the fajitas and do not need compensation but appreciate you offering. I hope the margarita recipe finds the necessary tweak.

Ordered cheese enchiladas to go, and they were damn good - some of the best I have ever had in my 28 years living in Texas! Will definitely be coming back soon.

Food is decent. Service is good once you've been seated. Needs some bar stools and tables in the waiting area so people have somewhere to sit when there is a wait.
