"Why 5 stars? Because the donuts and kolaches really hit the spot for us. --- --- ---My in-laws live pretty far out in Montgomery where there aren't a ton of great eateries conveniently located right outside their neighborhood. Where my parents live in Friendswood, it's actually not super challenging to find a decent snack or twelve nearby. And very high on that list of snacks are donuts and kolaches - something my wife and I eat our weight in when we are visiting family in Houston. Sitting in the in-law's kitchen, looking on Yelp at options nearby, there wasn't much to be excited about - there was Troy and not a whole-lot else. But even through Troy was close, it was only 3.5 stars. Fine, when you're in the sticks, you're options are limited. But it turns out, Troy Donuts was pretty awesome! There's a decent amount of kolaches to choose from, including boudain and Chappell Hill sausage, which certainly are not found at every donut shop. Speaking of donuts, they were very Shipley's-esque, which is a good thing. The only weird part of our experience is that they had a sign on the door that says that they have Thai Tea, with a big picture of it. When I asked the woman behind the counter for a Thai Tea, she goes.... "Oh... I don't know how to do that. I can try, but I will warn you that I've never made it before, so I can't guarantee how it will turn out." That was unfortunate, because my wife loves Thai Tea, but it would have been a bonus/surprise, since she was not expecting me to come home with that. Still, you'd think one of the people working here would know how to make something on the menu?Despite that small hiccup, I could see us visiting Troy Donuts every year around Christmas. Troy, see ya next December!"
"I visited on an overcast day but I could imagine this spot truly shines in the sunlight. This intimate cozy nook is punctuated by concentrated warm light, brick accents, deep wood tones, blissful tunes, and friendly people. What a win for Spring! I was greeted with a smile and a window display of sweet treats (including an ube cupcake). Everything I ordered arrived hot, fresh, and smelling delicious. The peppermint tea was peppermint tea, the Philly cheesesteak was flavorful. Could the "meat" pass for meat or the "cheese" pass for cheese, no. Does it matter, no. This lighter, flavorful take is a pretty impressive way to consume vegetables and I'm all for it. While the ube cupcake was a little denser than I'd prefer, the frosting was amazing, and I'm excited to try their other varieties. I'm so happy these folks are planted here! Excited to see them continue to blossom!"

My Yelp bestie Tiffany located this spot, and come to find out, I've had it bookmarked for awhile. It is located in the Boardwalk at Towne Lake. Parking is plentiful in this really nice shopping center. Walking in, I really liked the chill vibes this place had. There were a few families there as well as people on their laptops taking care of business. The staff was very friendly and helpful.I looked over the everyday menu and they had quite a few options to choose from. They have hot, cold and specialty coffee drinks along with tea and bottled drinks. I went with what looked like a seasonal drink called the Turtle Dove. I saw the word toffee and knew that was the drink for me. I requested mine with almond milk. This drink came out in a large coffee mug with a pretty design in the foam. The toffee flavor was very present but not overpowering. I could totally taste the great quality coffee as well. It wasn't too sweet which is how I like my coffee. I knew I needed some food in my system as well and noticed a plethora of baked goods. Come to find out, everything is freshly baked daily. They had cookies and pastries as well as made to order cakes. I'm a sucker for cinnamon rolls, so I had to get that when I saw it. They asked if I wanted it heated up which of course I did. The cinnamon roll was so soft and fluffy and the sweet cream cheese icing was the icing on the cake, no pun intended. I would come back for this alone.I've been finding myself in the Cypress area frequently recently, and if that trends continues, I will definitely be stopping in here more. I highly recommend this spot!"
"Small kolache store off of 59. Donuts are cooked well and taste like Shipleys. The jalapeño sausage kolaches are solid. The Boudain kolache is a bit bland and heavy, I forgot to consider it was rice wrapped in bread..."
"My family has been eating here on and off for many years. We don't get to go more often because we don't live very close but when we do go it's a real treat. I ventured here with two friends from the area after a spa day. It was perfect. We had a pitcher of mojitos, empanadas, papa rellena, platano maduro, and croquetas. I'm pretty sure I broke my diet this day lol I ordered the Pollo Al ajillo which was delicious. My friends ordered the Camarones Enchilados and the Snapper Al ajillo. Everything was good. We did not make it to dessert but spent a large part of the evening laughing and reminiscing old times. We even took pictures on the body cut outs outside!"
"In my initial review I was upset about mistakes that had happened. Within an hour of it I was reached out to by the restaurant and they completely 100% made up for it. It was an honest mistake and they had accountability and fixed everything. The food was 100% better and I was treated exceptionally well absolutely recommended this establishment and respect how they handle their customers. Great service !"
"Half Baked just dropped off cookies to my work to try and oh my goodness!!! I had the crème brûlée and it was hands down the best cookie I have ever had!! The cookie was topped with the creamiest custard base and topped with a thin layer of hardened caramelized sugar. You must try this cookie!"
"Vibe- This spot has such a clean dope look and feel! The vibrant orange and blue are so welcoming!! There's plenty of seating outside and inside. Great place to study or get work done. There's outlets all around!Customer service- Great! The barista that took my order was fantastic. I asked her about the coffee shop and she gave me a thorough explanation about the idea behind the coffee shop. I got a chance to actually meet the owner too and she was so sweet :) The owner is into fitness and coffee and so she combined the two! Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte with oatmilk and the homemade orange cinnamon syrup on the side to try (the barista recommended it!) I also got a vegan chocolate zucchini muffin that the owner recommended; it was all good!Parking- There's about 15 spots in the lot"
"Dun Huang Plaza has become a pseudo epicenter of bubble tea in recent years, housing nearly a dozen boba spots that are in constant competition with each other. Yum Cha faces Bellaire Blvd on the outer edge of the plaza, and has been one of my more reliable spots to quench my never-ending thirst for milk tea.I appreciate the literalness of the name (#1) and love a lot of what they offer. For starters, the interior is on the nicer side, more so than some of the other bubble tea spots. It's bright, somewhat spacious, and has a quality lounge space for groups or for folks looking to knock out a little work. The WiFi is on point and it always smells good in here. Bonus points for a clean bathroom as well and the very eye-catching IG wall. The service has been a slight lowlight at times, but thankfully they have a self-service kiosk to make things easier. I have been fond of their milk tea choices and especially anything with cheese foam. Their fruit teas have been a hit with folks, especially the supreme strawberry and grapefruit. The passion fruit is a sleeper, as is the peach oolong.Parking can be problematic since Dun Huang is perpetually busy, however, I've always managed to find a spot parking inside and not directly in front of the store. There is always a good, young crowd here, and I am likely to be chillin with the WiFi or getting a handful of drinks for takeout.__________(#1) 飲茶 (Yum Cha): to drink tea in Cantonese."
"A great place adjacent to the University of Houston Campus and a short drive from Texas Southern University. Great service, good ambiance. Not too loud. You can always find students studying or just on their computer taking advantage of the WiFi."
"Love love love love love love love love love this little donut shop! Can the church pray with me? Lord, I failed on my diet while in Texas, but forgive me for I did know what I was doing but I needed to try this donut shop out as it kept looking at me. God forgive me for I have failed this diet. My honesty hopefully will keep me in your heaven. A prayer, praise what more is needed? Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah! Drops mic"

I first visited Wisdom a few years ago when I was visiting my family in Houston. This past weekend, my sister and I decided to pay a new visit since we were out and about and in the area. The ambiance is low on the lights but is super cozy with booth seats that make you feel like you are sinking in lol. For my entrée, I went with the "chicken" parm with sweet potato fries. I like that the texture was super crispy on the outside, but I guess there wasn't enough butter or oil or something because everything was falling apart easily. My sister ordered an iced latte which she thoroughly enjoyed, and a spicy "chicken" sandwich which was "just okay". The food was not spectacular, but it was indeed filling. The ladies working that day were super nice too!

My Yelp bff Justin and I were on our way to College Station and wanted to start the day off with a cup of joe and some breakfast. The place we were planning to go to didn't have many food options. After browsing Yelp, we came across this lovely café and decided to check it out. It is located at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake. The shopping center reminded me of The Woodlands Waterway. It's a very nice shopping complex. They have a decent amount of parking, but the lot near the entrance was almost full. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff. The display of bakery items looked so good and they're made from scratch. I ordered a Bacon Quiche and Turtle Dove Latte.Bacon Quiche - Very good and flavorful. It actually had quite a bit of spinach in it (which I love), but I thought they had given me the wrong quiche at first. There were a few pieces of bacon on top, but not any cooked inside the eggs. The eggs were light and fluffy and the crust was crispy. Turtle Dove - This is a toffee based latte; it was made with almond milk by request. This was really good and not overly sweet. It had just the right amount of foam and the leaf design in the foam was nice. I had a small bite of Justin's cinnamon roll and it was really good and incredibly sweet. The café is a nice size and they have plenty of tables outside. The store also has a drive thru and I noticed that it was constantly busy. The inside has a homey feel with a fire place and large chairs as well as tables and barstool seating. The décor really showcases their mission of Collaborative Trade with Rwandan farmers and emphasizes their Do Good Initiative Project. You can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and support a charitable cause!

I've been going to this place for years now and I honestly can say there is no other restaurant in Houston's that cooks better Cuban food (and I've tried a lot). Service is good, a little slow at times but the food makes up for it. If you're looking for authentic Cuban food, THIS IS THE PLACE. 10/10

Horrible food and service. Sever did not care to serve me. Chips where horrible made with old oil, guacamole was tasteless. When the main course came it was a joke. The tortillas are hard abs old, the meat is stale taste like it was cooked a week ago. That was a disappointment. I have been to the one on the way to Galveston in south Houston and it was great. Will not repeat.

The service was friendly. I love all the natural light. The espresso was very tasty and smooth. Ordered a cortado and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Visit Restaurant Page"Loved this family-run bakery in Katy. I tried the honey cake, the strawberry cream cheese kolache, and the spinach kolache. Everything was delicious! The honey cake was my favorite! It was not too sweet, and the layers of cake and cream were perfect. It didn't feel heavy, and I honestly could have eaten the whole thing in one sitting. The kolaches were so fresh. The cream cheese was homemade and paired well with the strawberries. Also kolaches are half off after 4 pm!Can't wait to come back and try more cakes and pastries."
"What a quaint place I love it! Food was great service was great. Clean environment. And the pan!!"
"Fast friendly service, self tablet order pads, visual of each flavor available. I tried the rice crispy cookie thinking it would be a cookie. Wrong it was completely a rice crispy treat. Even softer like totally ooeey gooey stretchy rice crispy treat. Yeah I could have made that at home. I LOVE crumble but I won't be trying this one again. If you want a cookie don't order this one. Delicious but still it was a rice krispie treat, not a cookie even though it's shaped like one."
"This coffee is DELICIOUS. I love sweet coffee, and if you do too I would definitely recommend this place! I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was very refreshing and exactly what I needed to start the day. The coffee shop itself is very cute and clean and has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I would definitely come back to study or WFH to enjoy a drink. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, and was very knowledgeable of the items on the menu. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu"
"Never been to a Crumbl establishment so I decided to check this one out that opened near me. They're opened til 10pm on weekdays. On weekends, they close at midnight which is rare for this area of the Energy Corridor. It was pretty easy. You walk in and they have two kiosks. They have the flavors of the week listed as well. You pick what type of assortment you want. You can get just a single cookie as well. You pick the cookies and it tells you how many they have left at the moment. They also have drinks as well to wash them down.I got a 4-pack, but the person working there told me they were offering a special for a 6-pack for the same price. So I added two more. Some cookies have to be served chilled for obvious reasons. They'll tell you when ordering them. The non-chilled cookies were still hot and fresh. If you need re-Heat them the next day, i recommend 3 minutes in the air fryer at 400 degrees. If you got a sweet tooth and it's past dinner time...heck even late on the weekend, come check them out."
"Babyyyyyyyy... I went to my friend girl's house for dinner the other night and noticed a box of cupcakes (or at least I thought they were cupcakes) on the counter. After dinner she offered me one and OMG.. that brownie was so good, I almost lost my mind!!! Girlfriend, God knew what He was doing when He put you on this earth, okay!? I've never had anything so delicious in my life, I swear. YOU MUST TRY THE BROWNIES WITH THE PECANS AND CARAMEL DRIZZLED ON TOP!! Yasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!"
"Banh mi for $5. Cash only. They make the sandwiches in front of you. I recommend #1 the cold cuts. I also tried #2 BBQ pork, but it wasn't that good. It was a peppery flavor. This banh mi place is inside the Hong Kong Market, so it's a bit of a walk from the entrance."
"Dined in on a Tuesday at 12:30 pm for a party of 4. You order at the counter first and seat yourself. Their baguettes are so fresh and delicious! We ordered:Sandwich au steak: THE BEST SANDWICH! The creamy mushroom sauce is to die for! It came with potato salad which was just ok Traditional Jambon au Beurre: great flavors, the butter is so creamy, we got fries with this and they were crispy goodness! Next time I'll ask for mustard, lettuce and tomatoes to be addedTomato Basil soup: more on the chunky side, no cream, not the bestFrench onion soup: a tad too sweetPistachio cake: good strong pistachio flavor, the cake was so moistStrawberry shortcake: DELICIOUS! The strawberries in the middle were frozen"
"I first noticed Cafetopia at Dun Huang Plaza was in late October when I crave for Aqua S soft serve. I was a little upset as the sign changed. I finally made it here before Christmas. Service was kind of weird. Considering they just opened unknown months ago. One employee said "two months" and the other employee said "since November". Okay. Whatever. Get your shirt together first.Cafetopia serves soft serve from Aqua S. It was so confusing with what they sell in the store. The website looks more organized. Besides soft serve, I see gelato and crepe cakes. I saw signs of cheesecake but I didn't see any in the display case. The seating was plenty. The interior color is painted in baby blue, which reminds me of sea salt soft serve by Aqua S. No one could tell me what happened to Aqua S. I guess it would just be a mystery."
"What amazing food and plating. The Deviled eggs are not what you would expect, they know about flavor pairing and it is obvious with these. Fried goat cheese was also delicious. I went with the SOB for my meal and it was delicious and unlike any brisket sandwich that you have had before. The staff was friendly, helpful and always there with a refill or anything else when needed. Katie's is well decorated and a the type of place that Livingston needs."
"If you're looking for a bakery, a real authentic bakery, with actual choices from everything from gelato, to macaroons, to puff pastries to decadent looking cakes and delicious coffee to wash it all down with, this is the place you need to be. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I've been here a few times and each time it's been for something sweet and a coffee. I've never considered myself as someone who likes sweets, normally I would rather have a bowl of mashed potatoes over a bowl of ice cream, but something about this place just reminds me of growing up in Chicago and hitting the bakery stores with my grandma and my aunt Liz, it just brings me back to that wonderful time and I can't help but indulging. Houston has a lot going for it, but bakeries was definitely not one of them in my opinion, that is until I found Rao's. Take it from an old Italian, this is where you want to go to impress anyone with an array of desserts or simply a coffee and a break out of the house. Take yourself to Rao's and enjoy your afternoon"
"Ain't nothing like a hot bagel! There are a variety of bagels and they are all yummy. Their cream cheeses are also delicious. I have tried their plain, jalapeño, and their chives. All yummy. love their everything bagel and their salt bagel.Their kolaches are also pretty delicious. I love their mini dogs. Their egg and sausage is really good as well. The best part about this place is the staff. They are so helpful and friendly. I just enjoyed their energy. Def planning a future trip!"
"Paco's Mexican Bakery has nestled themselves nicely into the this area for a long time. I have no issues. I give them 4 stars. They're on Veteran's Memorial Dr a few miles south of Beltway 8. I feel they have been consistent for over the last decade. The Same rotation. The Same selection. I see lotsa party cakes being sold. I get my usual comfort items. I've never seen a cashier smile or say hello. Be forewarned they turn and burn. They are handling Covid 19 by requiring masks and keeping clean utensils in rotation as well as spacing. Suggestion:The Bollios make nice sandwiches. With Fresh avocado slices is very popular. A twist on avocado toast. They sell a ton of them, however you like them."
"This place just opened near my dwelling area. On first impressions, the place looks very clean food looks fresh and attractive. I came in and had to wait for about 3 mins or so, not bad. I ordered the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant. I've tried the croissant at two other places before and I have to say that this one is the second best. Additionally just took a coffee to make sure I have something to wash my breakfast down with. Donuts look really good, very photogenic. Light glaze on top and round. Definitely have to come back to give them a try. Overall, pretty good and good price."
"Why 5 stars? Because the Texas Pecan Nitro was unique and delicious. --- --- ---If I go to a coffee shop and nitro is on the menu, my order is decided. I was on the fence about visiting Common Bond after having lunch next door, but I looked on the menu and found a "Texas Pecan Nitro" and the debate was over. There was a drive thru and no one was in line. The time between "May I take your order" and the coffee hitting my lips was no more than 45 seconds. And more importantly, when it hit my lips, I let out an involuntary "OoOoOo".A lot of nitro's are similar to each other. And don't get me wrong, I love most of them. But it was nice to have something a bit different here. The flavor was very pecan heavy, which was nice. I can't say I would *prefer* it over others, but variety is fun. And this delivered variety. And most importantly, caffeine. I saw multiple Common Ground shops during the afternoon, so now I'll know to stop when I run into one in the future."
"After a Houston Restaurant Weeks lunch next door, I stopped by Bagel Shop factory to buy a half-dozen bagels and a tub of cream cheese. Bagels are my favorite type of bread and you can't beat a New York-style bagel. Parking is a breeze in the complimentary lot. In addition to bagels, they also have some sweets but I didn't dabble. I did appreciate that they had a good variety of bagels . . . your classics including plain, sesame, poppy, everything etc. and some more exotic varieties including French toast. And if we're talking exotic, they even have a rainbow bagel. It tastes just like a plain bagel but it's trippy and looks like a work of art. It's definitely worth trying to say you've done it! Since I can be basic sometimes, I went with the plain cream cheese. If you're more adventurous than I am when it comes to your spreads, they have plenty of other options too.In my book, Bagel Shop Factory is up there as one of the best bagel spots in town!"
"Jody did a great job for my custom GF vegan chocolate bday cake. She can do almost any design and custom makes the cake to whatever you want. You can pick up or get delivered. All of my friends didn't notice it was vegan or GF and devoured it!!! It was so good and the vegan buttercream was awesome Will be coming here for all future cake inquiries and sending all my friends Jody's way!! Excited for a continuous relationship with Jody."
"Soft chewy cookies. Reminds me of insomnia cookies but not served warm. It seems to be the go to for gifts from clients."
"Found this gem 3mins away from home, so they've been hiding in plain site all this time. They sell homemade sweet treats; cheesecake, cobbler, banana pudding, tea cakes, etc. I came to order a cake for my co-worker's bday, but couldn't leave without tasting the peach cobbler. Crust was flaky and crispy with a cinnamon/nutmeg/vanilla filling. They did not disappoint, looking forward to my cake next week. Enter freely, they've been approved"
"It's a literal mom and pop operation. Somebody's grandma/big granny/yia-yia is in the kitchen baking like crazy. She offers close to 50 differs cakes and pies in total. Not all are available on spec, but put in an order and they'll have it for you.Along with the sweets, they also have comfort food. Burgers and fries and breakfast is available too. In my "humble" opinion the best key lime in the Lake Houston area, awesome peach and apple cobblers.I gotta try the German chocolate in the near future."
"This review is long overdue. As a new bride, Ive been on the hunt for a baker to help create my ideal wedding cake. Sweet Nation was my first contact. From the initial contact to the last, customer service was excellent. I was able to order a cake box of samples to go, which was convenient and hassle free. I was able to select 8 samples( the caramel cake was by favorite). When I arrived to pick up the cake box, I had the please to meet the owner, Mariana. She was/is a sweetheart & personalable. Instead of handing me the cake box and sending me on my way, Mariana took the time to get to know me and details about my wedding. She thoroughly shared her create process, her journey to becoming a baker, and details about her Pastry Academy. She expressed pride in being a family owned business that stays true to quality. I was overwhelmed with joy at her kindness and interest in ensuring her customers received quality service. I left that day confident that whether I use Sweet Nation for my wedding or another event, I will support this business and recommend them for bakery services."
"Today i was amazed by the moistness, creativeness, and quality of the cake that I ordered for my co-worker's Birthday. We ordered a chocolate cake with the cream icing and a graphic design to be placed on top and my office gave great ooooo's and ahhhhh's as they took ever several bites. When ordering for future holidays, birthdays, and special occasions I will be revisiting. This is definitely the place I put my 5-star stamp on!!!"
"She did an amazing job with my nephews monster truck theme cake. I will definitely be going back!."
