"I'm surprised the rating is at a two stars. It's a fried food stall! It's like heaven for all fried food lovers! You can choose between a few combos. Essentially getting a fried entree and a side dish (which most are fried). The bagnet was what I've been craving for a while now and so I knew I had to get that. And because I didn't just want to eat white rice with a bunch of fried stuff, I opted to some laing (dried taro leaves in coconut milk) because you know, health. I can't say I've had a lot of laing but it tasted very hearty on it's own. A little bitter and a little sweet from the coconut milk. All in all, it was a decent lunch for about $10. My biggest complaint was that some of the food items had been sitting out there for a while and looked a little sad, especially the two non-fried vegetables dishes. And eating at 12 on a Friday afternoon, I expected everything to look a little fresher. The pork belly is where it's at. It's a pretty popular item and so you can probably bet that it's replaced quite often. Regardless, this place is definitely worth trying if you know what fried goodness you want."
"I would never guess a place like Aloha Wagon would be in Pilsen but here we are. It's Filipino owned and run, and this brings me back to the island from the exterior and when you enter the front door.Get the chicken adobo. It was my favorite! So flavorful and so much to eat! Comes with rice, greens, and Mac salad. You'll find other Hawaiian comfort foods like loco moco and spam on the menu whether you get a plate, sandwich, salad, or even a taco! They also offer Kona coffee and some tropical drinks which are a nice boost to your day. Aloha Wagon is the type of place you come back to as a regular because it's the right balance of tasty, value, and friendliness."

I placed an online order of sisig (with a fried egg on top - $2 extra) and Shanghai lumpia ($0.50 extra to add the sweet sauce). I arrived just after it said it would be ready, and it was. The lady who I grabbed the food and tipped at was friendly. I brought it home and it took me a while, but it was still all warm which was great.I have to say that the sisig was very wet. I'm used to the Kapampangan Sisig which was certainly different than this one, but I've had other regional sisigs that were never this wet. It tasted good, don't get me wrong - but I don't feel like it was the most authentic version of a sisig plate. It's also quite expensive at over $20 for a plate. I did get pretty full quickly though. The lumpia Shanghai was pretty good and standard of what I've had before. I for some reason thought I'd be getting less for the price point, but they packed it in nicely. I would certainly order from here again, but not sure on the Sisig specifically."
"Lumpia and best crab Rangoon I know of. Can't pass this place with out an order of crab .ragoom. Small family owned. Delish. .you might have to go to rehab for the addiction g crab ragoon."
"Two of my favorite things! Pig and fire!!!! How could I go wrong? That's right...I can't! I recently ordered some delicious eats from their weekend popup and it did not disappoint!!! They specialize in catering and pop ups! The pop ups are available for pickup and delivery...and need to be pre-ordered in advance during this time.Follow them on their FB and IG for their latest schedule and menu drops. Ordering was very easy as it was through the tock app and once I arrived at The Hatchery (commercial/communal kitchen complex). I texted and received my order in a matter of minutes at my selected pick up time. I had the chicken insanal skewer with garlic rice; the pancit palabok; lumpia; ube chocolate chip cookies! EVERYTHING was so flavorful and made hot and fresh! I would definitely order all of these again in a heartbeat! Chef Roel and his wife Jen are the sweetest! Make sure you give them a try! Continue to support local small businesses, wash your hands, and be kind yelpy friends!"
"Great diner spot if you're looking for some authentic Filipino style breakfast food. You could wait up to 10-15 minutes for a table if you're there during peak brunch hours, but the servers really work hard to clean up tables and take orders. I loved the combination meal with longanisa and tocino, but I opted for spam this time. Anything you get will always be a hit! The bill was about $45 plus tip. Highly recommend!"
"Not sure what the hell happened with this place, but never again. Been ordering here over 14 yrs so obviously loved it. No more.I asked for extra sweet sauce for my pad see eiw- didn't get that and what I did get didn't even taste like pad see eiw- just bland beef w peapods and mushrooms- not only no extra sauce, NO Sauce! This is the second time my pad see eiw didn't taste like pad see eiw. This time I had to repeat my order 3x. Then- when I got my order an entire half of it was missing. When I called and explained- the woman spoke over me loudly, saying driver was on the way (I clearly said I received my order and half was missing) again, I repeated myself 3x before she screamed at someone onsite and said driver would be back. By that time, the missing half of the lunch meal was cold. Last 3x I have ordered- (shrimp egg foo young, pot stickers, orange chix and a few other things) doesn't taste as it used to. I am done and searching for a suitable replacement."
"For catering needs:When the holidays arrive catering needs are required (especially when work/life gets too busy to cook). Subo has tasty options that can satisfy in a jiffy. The BBQ'd meat sticks, different types of filled & fried rolls and more. There's an ease to acquiring catering needs. No need to call several days ahead, they will accept orders that can be prepared and picked up within hours. Though I've noticed that when giving them more time to cook and prepare, quality is best. When having lesser times before pickup, quality is different depending on what's being prepared. Ie placing an order when they open and pickup later that afternoon. I've had catering order/pickup times both ways these past holidays. Good to go catering includes:Large orders of lumpia shanghai & or eggrolls. Pork or chicken BBQ skewers."
"I was in the USN about 30 years ago and had my first experience of lumpia back then. There is nothing finer in life than when a flavor from way back comes to life again.I pulled in. Darted in. Ask if it was possible to get 20 count of lumpia. No. How about 25? Well sure I'll suffer for the good of humanity.Only $9.00 for 25! Great experience. In and out with deliciousness."
"This is a place holder. We haven't received our order yet, but so far the host of our gathering who placed the order said that there were few bumps in conversation but overall fine. They said they spoke with the owner's daughter who was facilitated the order and did good. TBD on food! Really hoping for good taste! Before pandemic we visited another Filipino karaoke bar and ordered food as the owner said it was very good.... Unfortunately 1) it tasted horrible and 2) it tasted so horrible. Heads up on the menu posted on their social media - prices aren't updated. For tray options at this time, dinuguaan with pork only is now $55, kaldereta kambing $70, pork lumpia is the same $32 100 pieces, those are the only that was relayed to me by friend. The special plastic container orders also has about a $2 hike in price. Can't wait!"
"Mano is a small and locally owned Filipino cafe located in the west town area. This establishment can seat about 20-30 people comfortably. There are a few outdoor seating spots as well. Tip: highly recommend going on an early Sunday AM since parking is free that day and street parking is plentiful. There are 2 ways to order - at their front counter or online. I ordered online and their system is user friendly and easy to navigate. I ordered an Ube chai latte with pistachio milk and it was delicious! This was my first time having pistachio milk as a milk sub and I enjoyed it. For food I tried the longansia and tocino bowl which came with a fried egg and rice. I'll probably pass on ordering food from here going forward, however I do appreciate that they offer food which makes it an easy 1 stop spot! The owner was there and he was hustling! It was great to see this place busy especially since they were only open for about an hour at that point. He was very friendly and kind which shows me he truly cares about his business and making his customers feel at home and welcomed."

More like artery clogging, heart attack town. After moving to Chicago, I never thought I'd have legit Filipino food ever again. This food stall is located inside Seafood City along with several other food vendors. They really bring back that comfort level of food I used to eat back in LA. The only gripe here is that it's not as freshly prepared as I'd like. The stall doesn't get busy so I'm not sure how quick the foods sitting there gets rotated. What I love that's really bad for you is the pork chicharon and crispy chicken skin. I was excited when I saw them deep frying a fresh batch, so I had to buy some. It's a little over salted but the flavors are good.

We had takeout from this place. So much food for our order. Decent food as well. They have a range of Hawaiian food. We all enjoyed it. We were able to make 2 meals out of one entree! Since we had take out there is no comment on how it was if we ate there.

I was dying for crispy pata and lichen kawali since leaving the SF Bay area a year and half ago. Wow this place doesn't disappoint on the food and portion size. The service started out a little slow. We waited about 10 minutes to have the server take our order. He was very friendly though so made up for the wait. We started with the lumpia which were wonderful. You get 12 with a sweet chili dipping sauce. I like them rolled a little bigger but no big deal. The palabok was new for us and while it was decent, It seemed like it needed chicken or something instead of just the egg and chicharrons. It came by itself and we waited for the pata and lechon for another 10 minutes. The noodles were then too cold. The cook/chef didn't time the dishes which would have been better. So we just sat there letting the noodles cool until the rest of the food was delivered. The pata and lechon were outstanding. OMG lots of crispy skin and moist meat. Lots of food. I was in heaven. It's BYOB, they are waiting for their liquor license. The one issue was that the door opens right into the dining area. No wind break. So the food cools down quick and it's a huge draft when anyone leaves or enters. Really uncomfortable since we sat right in the draft path. In the winter don't sit by the door.Food= 4.5 starsService = 3

We weren't in our own territory today and needed a bite for late lunch and good old Yelp brought us here after striking out at 2 of our favorite locations. We love chinese food and this little place has some of the best ever! We wish it was close to us.The smells when you walk in the door is that classic chinese food that you are looking for. It is cute and fairly typical. It was busy as heck, so the locals must know the quality. The lunch specials were so cheap! We got the chicken with cashews, chicken egg foo yung, lemon chicken, and garlic chicken. All of them were fantastic, and cravable in some cases. They all come with fried rice and soup. Hot and sour and egg drop were both an amazing start. We also got egg rolls, and they are the best I have had in a decade. So delicious. Also Daniel who sat us at a table and brought us things was so kind amd funny. He made the experience memorable. Definitely stop in when you can.

Hot damn! What a lunch. We were able to get a couple of their Longanisa burgers brought in for lunch at work and it was mind blowing. The pork chorizo burger reminded me of something very similar I've had in lots of Vietnamese dishes. There's a sweetness to the meat that marries well with the richness from the burger. The vegetable slaw and pickles brings a great acidity to balance the wonderful mouthful of flavors. Last but not least, the garlic aioli brings a fantastic creaminess and kick of garlic. Also, love that the buns they use are from a local bakery! The only thing I wish is for a bit of heat, but even despite that, one of the best burgers by far. Pretty sure I ate that burger within five minutes. That ube chocolate chip cookie was a great addition to the meal. I love ending the meal with a sweet treat and this perfectly met that expectation.Highly looking forward to being able to visit their restaurant once we regain normalcy. Definitely will be one of the first places I go to once we can start dining out again. In the mean time, I'm keeping an eye out on their social media to order one of their pop up meals. I've noticed the meals go quickly, so make sure to be on top of it to take part!

I'm probably the last Filipino yelper that hasn't been to uncle mikes. Surprise it's not just Filipino breakfast. It's actually a large menu with lots of traditional breakfast items. Upon seating you're immediately served complementary porridge(arroz caldo). The brunch combo of steak and tocino came with Champorado(chocolate porridge). Are you kidding me? Im sold! Is it the best steak? No. Is it the best tosino? No. Im giving it five stars because the food is good enough, the portions are huge, and all the other trimmings it comes with. P.S the plain pancakes tasted really buttery - even that was good.

It's very unfortunate. Filipino food used to be very affordable. Now it rivals just about any other place with the skyrocketing prices. The food was still good here. The customer service could have been a little better. When we arrived two ladies were sitting down and they weren't very welcoming. Like not a hello, or any type of eye contact. A customer after me received even worse service. The young lady was on her phone with the same no greeting and then finally looked up to place the gentleman's order. We placed an order for their Lumpia with pork. My wife ordered their my wife ordered their Pancit Bihon and I ordered their Tocino breakfast bowl. The Lumpia was very delicious. It had a nice crispy outside and very tasty pork inside and served with a sweet chili sauce. This is a must order at any Filipino restaurant. The Pancit Bihon came with thin stir fried rice noodles, with chicken and vegetables. Just a few years ago, you could get this dish for around 7 to 8 dollars. Now it's $15. But still worth it. You get a lot of food, it's very delicious and filling. My Tocino Breakfast bowl that I got for dinner was really good as well. Although I would have preferred my rice to be more garlicky and more fried, it didn't ruin the rest of the dish. I also would have preferred my fried eggs to not be so over cooked. I like my eggs runny, especially on top of fried rice. The tocino was definitely the highlight of this dish. It was so tender, and just the perfect amount of sweetness to go with the rest of this savory this. Would definitely order this again and will definitely be returning.
Visit Restaurant Page"We are so glad that Bayan Ko has created a casual concept for this space! The bar area has a beautiful giant botanical wallpaper on it and the furniture is more comfortable now. Our party has the burrito, Cubano, Filipino breakfast w/tocino, pork belly adobo, ube pancakes, monkey bread, and coffee and teas. Everyone was very happy with their food with the minor note that the garlic rice could have been a bit fluffier and warmer. The pork dishes were quite yummy and the coffees were delicious. Ube pancakes were pretty and had delicate flavors of ube and coconut garnished by excellent mango and strawberry. the monkeybread had a great cream cheese frosting on topbut unfortunately was underproofed and dry on the inside. We trust this was a first opening weekend glitch and can't wait to go back for more great meals. Hooray for Montrose!"
"This is a special place that screams delicious in every bite. We started with a Hot plate of sizzling sisig. The Fried rice is a must to compliment all the meat you will order. Order a variety of items to give yourself options to enjoy the next day. The service is great and as soon the food started to come it all came in a well timed manor to give us a chance to have a first taste of the food. Altogether a great experience and happy to come back as soon as possible."
"The Saturday that I went to Simple Delights and tried their breakfast combos, was one of the fullest I have ever been.. and I was very happy. I came here with my daughter and we were greeted once we got inside. There was limited parking spots because the place was in a small commercial strip. There was no dine in service since they were strictly following the Covid precautions so we waited there for our meals to be cooked. We tried the DAINGSILOG and LONGSILOG. Both the daing na bangus and longganisa were delicious, especially with the garlic fried rice. I loved the toasted garlic that were sprinkled on the rice. While waiting for our breakfast combo meals, the smell of fresh-out-of-the-oven PAN DE SAL was distracting me so I had to get a few pieces. They were still warm and soft, so how could I resist?! They also encouraged my daughter to try their freshly made chicken emapanada. We loved it. It was stuffed with delicious filling and the pastry was so good. I am definitely going back to try other meals. Hopefully I can get lucky again with my timing so I can catch those warm and delicious pan de sal. The service we received was great. They were friendly, efficient and very pleasant. Til next time."
"I just had a simple, easy & inexpensive breakfast. 2 pieces of Bangus (fried fish), 2 eggs & 2 cups of garlic fried rice for $5.99. You can't beat that deal & best of all I ate half & brought the other half home for lunch. "SUCH A DEAL THEY HAVE FOR YOU". Not all meals are this inexpensive but if you like Bangus it's an awesome deal, tasty & inexpensive."
"Happy to be giving Umaga the full 5 stars it truly deserves! This was my 2nd time here and options were plentiful this time around. Everything was soooooo good!! This time I tried the señorita bread, halo halo and bibing - cute Ube. I'd get all of these again. The quality of ingredients umaga uses is seriously top notch. Everything is made with love and it shows. I love this place so much!"
"So happy the new location is located 15 min from my work! I've been to the old location that was at the French Market downtown a couple times, but now that I moved out to the burbs, I'm glad I have easier access. Stopped in and ordered carry out for lunch, I got the longanisa egg and cheese sando on the ube pandesal and it tastes as good as it looks! Also ordered the lechon with rice, but I was so excited to eat it I forgot to take a picture. The lechon was perfectly cooked and had the crunchiest skin! I would've had the ube donuts and cookies (which I've had before and are amazing) but am currently trying to cut back on sweets lol."
"Filipino Cuban Fusion...?! I didn't even know that was a thing! Glad I know now bc it was freakin DELICIOUS. First things first, my absolute favorite thing about this restaurant was that they have HALF-PORTIONS! For anybody as indecisive as me when it comes to ordering food at a new restaurant, this is a godsend. I just wanna try E-VE-RY-THING or die trying--and we came pretty close to it after ordering 8 half portions. I can't even choose a favorite dish bc we loved just about everything! The Lumpia Shanghai were hot and crispy and went so well with their garlic sauce. The Lechon Kawali was flavorful and tender, and the Bistek was also just so juicy and rich. I could've eaten another order of their crispy Adobo Wings bc they were that addicting but opted for the Ropa Vieja instead; I gotta say the Ropa Vieja wasn't my favorite but that's because I prefer Asian flavors to begin with. I also liked the Sisig and the Crab Croqueta Tots but my bf wasn't a fan of either. But don't worry, the Ube Sundae totally made up for the two and was the perfect palate cleanser! Our server (who might also be the only server) was excellent! He had the calmness and patience of a wise man, and he navigated the packed restaurant with ease. Definitely make a reservation if you plan on coming for a weekend dinner bc this small restaurant fills up fast! They had to turn away most of their walk-ins while we were there."
"Pretty good. 4 ladies came for lunch. We tried the calamari and lumpia. Great to share. We shared the tres leches French toast which I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly sweet as I had expected. The short rib ways favorite- the marinade was smelled delicious and meat was tender. The breakfast chicken fine too. Some of us liked the chicken more since the short rib was a tad salty. So definitely like there non alcoholic drinks...the dark purple drink with ube and coconut was very yummy."
"This is the spot to get your crispy lumpia, lechon, and other filipino fare. We ordering catering for a party from Ima's and I showed up right when the doors opened. They didn't have all of my order ready which is totally reasonable. They just opened and were making it fresh! I went in to seafood city to kill some time and pick up some other things and when I came back they gave me an extra dozen lumpia for the 20 minute wait. I will definitely be coming back to Ima's for future catering the food is outstanding and the staff is very considerate and professional. The place is a little small so ordering take out is probably best or maybe you can eat at the tables in the seafood city food court."
"I called in an order for takeout. The guys on the phone was friendly, and was quick on the phone. And food was ready before the promised time. I came on a Friday night and was really surprised to see this place completely empty. This place is huge. Perhaps too big for the amount of customers that are actually coming in. I can't imagine this place ever getting completely full. I may be wrong though. They also have an outdoor patio. Overall a gorgeous setup that I hope people are taken advantage of. I was glad to have picked up my food and for it to be ready. I would just appreciate a thank you have a nice day as in heading out the door though. That goes a long way especially when you have an empty restaurant. I ended up ordering their Lumpia, Pancit Bihon, and their Lechon Sisig. It irks me to see the lumpia being called "egg rolls" on the menu. With the word lumpia in parentheses. They were good though, nice crispness and went perfectly with their sweet chili sauce. The Pancit Bihon and the Lechon Sisig were both good. They were greasy but both tasted very similar. They both had way too much red and green bell peppers. Both dishes had way too much crunch and hid the flavors of the noodles and the Lechon. Maybe they needed to be cooked longer to soften up, but after looking over their menu again, a lot of their dishes have the same bell peppers. This place definitely has potential. Although the the food had flavor is missed on a couple spots. The dishes were also on the pricier side and after we finished our food, I definitely felt I overpaid and sadly don't think I'll be returning anytime soon."
"Finally found my Filipino restaurant!!! I only ordered Uber eats but I can tell with the dish that I got that this place got their Filipino taste buds on point. I got the nilaga baka and liempo and it was delicious. I can't wait to try more dishes at this restaurant. I waited 1hr for my food and it was worth it."
"I am a little mixed on this place because I don't think filipino is really my thing. I will bump it up to 4 because I don't think anything went wrong, but I am just not a fan of this kind of food. We started with the getting all the grilled appetizers (minus the vegan option). The chicken, pork belly, and short ribs were all excellent. I would give a special shoutout to the short ribs which were better than I expected. The pork belly and chicken were pretty good too. The portions were also decently large. We also got the lumpia which is always a hit! I got the beef tongue for my main course which had some pretty good flavor, but was kind of mushy. This is probably how this is prepared so its probably more of a "me problem" than anything the restaurant did. We all also got garlic rice which we thought was a little too much garlic, but mellowed out with the addition of other meats and flavors. We ended with the fried sticky rice coconut balls which were good, but not extremely memorable. Still, it was a strong ending to a meal that I thought lagged a bit in the middle. It was also a little expensive. The menu seems a little too small and unless you really like filipino food, you are only going to have options in the applitizers. Honestly, that is survivable as I thought the grilled meats appetizers were tasty and I should have gotten more instead of the tongue. The other highlight was that the service was actually quite excellent. They were able to make recommendations, were attentive, and flexible with a few young kids we had. The place seems upscale, but is pretty cozy and has probably the best volume music I have heard at a restaurant. Not too loud, not too soft. Will I be back? Maybe. I would return to get the chicken, pork belly, lumpia, and short ribs, but that is the meal that I am making. I would suggest that to you if you are unsure.k"
"Had a very nice dinner here during the week with my friend. We ordered Crispy Pata, Sisig, Chicken Inasal, Balut, Batchoy, and Mais con Yelo. All of it was pretty good, although I personally just don't love the sisig here. Maybe it is Bacolod style? It didn't taste like the typical Pampanga one I'm used to, and I just wasn't that much of a fan. Everything else though, was excellent. Service was very attentive and both the ladies that come over to check on us, bring out our food, etc we're all sooo friendly. They suggested to come back with a big group to do their Kamayan style dinner which is something I've always wanted to do. I'm surprised this place doesn't have higher reviews, because I like it a lot and our service was excellent. I'll be back hopefully soon!"
"We had an absolute feast when we visited Max's RestaurantBring your appetite. The drinks will transport you to the tropics. For our drinks, we had the Mango and Calamansi (Philippine Lime). These were actually like slushies, the Calamansi was citrusy but sweet. Both were very refreshing and delicious. We started with the Calamari appetizer, which was fresh, tasty, and more than enough for two.We then ordered the Fiesta Platter (available on weekdays and dine in only). We couldn't believe our eyes at the size of it. It easily feeds 4 or 5.The Fiesta Platter consists of:Crispy PataChicken InasalInihaw Na LiempoLumpiang ShanghaiDaing Na BangusGrilled EggplantPancit BihonGarlic RiceEverything is cooked well done and crispy. Just the way we like it. For dessert, we ordered the Halo-Halo, which consists of:Macapuno (Coconut meat)MilkGulaman (gelatin)BeansShaved IceUbe PasteLeche FlanUbe Ice CreamRice CrispiesJack FruitBananaYou mix up or shake the ingredients before digging in. Such a delicious end to our meal. This could easily feed four as well. Service from our waitress, Jeanna, was excellent. They are right next to Seafood City, so there is plenty of parking. Enjoy a memorable feast of Philipino food at Max's Restaurant"
"I thought the service was really good from Jean, I had made a reservation because they're often busy and she called to confirm my reservation and asked if I wanted to pre-order. Because good food takes time - that's what my dad used to say and I have to agree. I enjoyed the lumpia Shanghai egg rolls and the beef soup exceeded and I mean exceeded my expectations. It's a simple soup, beef broth with veggies and some marrow so when someone gets it right, the dish can transport you back to childhood. The crispy pata (deep fried pork hocks) was gigantic and flavorful and can make you feel some guilt as you break off some crispy skin to dip into the soy/vinegar sauce (that creates a nice balance with the fat). During my second visit, we tried the chicken inasal which is chicken marinated in soy, calamansi (Philippine lime) and lemon grass. I opted for the chicken breast and along with a BBQ pork skewer, that was a lot of protein. I'm also a big fan of eggplant and they have a pretty decent Tortang talong (eggplant battered and fried), this went really well with the banana ketchup and tobasco. Hope to be back soon and these dishes are inspired from my home island. FYI, plenty of strip mall parking and did I mention that it's BYOB?"
"I think for everyone who had the fortunate of having Asian parents or grandparents that cooked for them while growing up, Tita Mia invokes memories of lots of those flavorful, healthy(ish) comfort foods. Now if you combine this with a giant parking lots, beautiful huge dining room, reasonable prices (for the enormous portions), and fast friendly service you have a winner! You can't really go wrong with anything you order here as everything is pretty much between delicious to very delicious. The lechon kawali is nice and tender with a nice crisp on the skin and comes in a generous portion. The sizzling sisig is filled with umami, with the saltiness tempered down nicely by the onion. The pancit, whether stir fried or in a delicious soup is nice and slurpy and flavorful no matter what you pair it with. The desserts are also amazing here as well. The chocolate cake is full of lots of fudge and not too sweet. The flan is full of caramel, a bit thick but full of delicious eggy flavor and quite smooth. The ube crinkles are like little taro cookie cakes that are sweet and fragrant.Overall, a great place to get a great meal at a great price and be treated like you're family!"
