"What a great meal! The ambiance is upscale, and the service was amazing. I could barely take a sip of water without a refill. The menu has a lot of great options from seafood to chicken and beef. The breadbasket had a nice assortment, and it was hard to resist asking for another round.The fried chicken may seem like a less elegant choice, but man, it is made fresh and it's worth waiting for. It's also a huge portion coming out so hot you may need a minute to eat it, but it had a crunchy outside and soft inside. The grilled seafood platter had an array of tasty items, including giant shrimp and scallops along with 2 lobster tails. It was a meal fit for a king!For sides, the mac n cheese is a real winner with that amazing baked crust on top. The sweet potato was nice, but the praline pecan butter really took a nice vegetable and made it into a mini dessert.It was packed even early in the evening, so make sure you make a reservation. Every part of the experience was masterful. You will not be disappointed coming here."

"Finally came back here after 7 years. Had to upgrade my review from a 3 to a 5 star. I think coming here on a busy weekend like Chinese new years made the service not so good last time. This time around, we were able to get a table without having to wait and received relatively quick service and most importantly delicious food. This tablet placed on the table was a little confusing at first, especially if you want to order from the Dim Sum menu. I accidentally left an order of potstickers in my cart on the tablet, and it was brought to my table along with my dim sum order of pot stickers. Whoops! Luckily I love pot stickers so no biggie, but something to be careful about. Aside from the Pot Stickers, we ordered their Short Rib w/ honey sauce, Fried Sticky Rice, BBQ Pork Crepe, and Steamed BBQ Pork Bun. Everything was delicious. I was really surprised on how great the BBQ Pork Crepe was. The steamed bbq pork bun is always a family favorite. The sticky rice tasted a little fishy but still delicious. Will definitely be returning, hopefully a lot sooner than 7 years!"

"Love Hampton social! There was a time when almost all of my friends would have their birthday dinners at Hampton social. I find this very funny. The ambience is very fresh and maybe a bit too sailor themed? Lol, no complaints there though. Definitely makes you feel like you are in the Hamptons. The service is fast and the servers have almost always been nice. Love the food here too. The avocado corn pizza is sooo yummy. The creamed street corn is my absolute favorite. The crispy coconut taco is very delicious too. Oh, and my favorite part? The Rose All Day sign. :p"

"Swung by for Happy Hour with friends, and had a really great time at Hugo's. We sat at the bar, and though I wasn't super clear what the Happy Hour prices were, I did know that oysters were a $1 and bottles of wine were half off! I do wish the oysters were juicier, and we did get some shells, but for $1 a pop, not complaining! The wine options were endless, and really happy with the bottle of sancerre we had. Also had bites like cheese dip and chips, steak and fries, plump shrimp cocktail and more.Service was great as well! Not a fan of their bathrooms, as there is an employee that is there helping you and providing little items you may need. I never carry cash with me, so it feels a bit awkward to accept help."

I got the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy inside, a nice sear on the outside. Can't go wrong with the au gratin potatoes. Cocktails were delicious too. "Went here for dinner with a friend. The restaurant is much bigger than you can tell from the street. They have an enclosed heated patio in the back area where which we sat. They give you as many orders of fresh chips and salsa as you wish. Salsa is kinda spicy, but I prefer it that way. We ordered Al pastor enchiladas which were very good and got the churros for dessert. There are cheaper Mexican restaurants in the area but this place isn't overpriced. The Crab Bisque had good flavors, but it was not what any of us expected and it had a lot of vegetables. The Ceviche was light, Fried Calamari was extra crispy, and Crispy Fish was breaded on thick- all fine. However, we were thrown off ketchup was the sauce they served with the Calamari. As an entree, we shared the Hot Mess- the portion was enough for the 4 of us, and we liked the Cajun seasoning. Overall, I'd consider stopping in if I was in the neighborhood again."

Couldn't tell the difference. Most importantly, it was delicious. The heat level was just right as well as the sauce. The sauce also made the corn and the potatoes taste delicious. I hate peeling shrimp. Especially when all the sauce comes off the shrimp when you're done peeling it. So I peeled all my shrimp first, threw it back in the bag and shook it up to make sure all my shrimp was coated in the sauce before it went it my mouth. Absolutely delicious. I ordered online and this is the best service I have ever received with an online order. They text you, call you to confirm your order and call you when your order is complete. You order by checking off what you want on the menu. S, m, lg, xlg. As they deliver they check it off. The dim sum arrived hot and fresh. We also ordered hand pulled noodles from the lunch menu and for $3 more we added American broccoli to the dish, unfortunately the dish arrived lukewarm and the broccoli was cool. It was still good and a healthy serving.I highly recommend this restaurant. We arrived at around 1pm on a Friday and people continued to arrive all thru lunch. The food was very tasty and the portions were a good size. The food was very fresh. They only use the bamboo steamers once, so no worries about hygienic.The toilets have seat coverings and there is a foot pull to open the door so you don't have to touch the door after washing your hands. You walk into the restaurant on the ground floor and walk up to the seating area as you pass the fountain. All seating is upstairs and if you time it right you can get a bay window seat."

And it's all true, their wings are prepared a special way and are crispy and full of flavor. Aside from that, we enjoyed the crab Rangoon, quite pretty in its floral design. I personally liked the beef with pea pods. The wonton soup was what you'd expect and they were generous with the ingredients. I put too much chili oil in my soup and I almost needed a ventilator. Service was excellent and we had the place to ourselves on a Saturday late morning which was nice. Street pahking on Lawrence and you have to pay on Saturdays, there was no neighborhood parking to be had. But that's ok, I'd like to come back for more wings and other items on the menu."

"The ambiance and service were both noteworthy. It's stunning inside. -Perfect for a date. I loved our server. He was helpful without being overbearing. The food was good. Don't get me wrong. But for a $300 meal, not sure it was quite worth that. We ordered the steak tartare to start. Loved the grilled sourdough bread it came with. The wagyu strip steak was good but not a slam dunk. I did really enjoy the blackened salmon with grits, but the baked potato with creme fraîche and caviar needed more caviar and it wasn't presented in a very appetizing way. I'd have gladly paid more for more caviar on it. I load it up when I make it at home. It was an enjoyable experience and a nice change-up from your typical steakhouse, but I'd consider this a "one and done" restaurant."

It is an upscale, elegant establishment that is a great part of Vernon Hills' restaurant scene. In my most recent visit, I tried multiple dishes that included sushi rolls, sashimi, chicken karage, sashimi salad, okonomiyaki, scallops, and a saké drink. All the food I had was super tasty and good. The fish was fresh and had big chunks or pieces. The okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake with seafood, was super yummy. It was my first time having it. The scallops dish, whose name I can't remember, was unique in taste and very good. The sushi rolls were big, and I liked how they were created. We received good service. The ambiance is nice. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but you do get your money's worth. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you haven't been here before."

(I used to live north side, I know what to look for in a "classic Chicago knock you in the dirt delicious corner spots") Came in. Read the full, wide variety of items they serve. Holy crap. This place was for real. Philly Steak. Philly Chicken...but my man behind the counter said "nah bro. Not tonight. Tonight you're eating an All-American". He let me add bacon. Hit the grill after the order. He recommended the straight up waffle fries. He fried them fresh, single order just for me. Damn. That burger was a half pound easy after cooked! The fries would make Chick-fil-A fans flock here...because however they fry these fries (wait for it...)DAMN!!! so I dragged a friend here again tonight. He had the cheddar bacon burger, I tried like hell to eat half my Philly Steak. Same quality...except tonight my man behind the counter hooked my friend and I up with badass smoothies. Off the menu badass smoothies. Nothing crazy... traded something for apple juice and let us try a sample...Damn. We both bought one. If he had had a large, I would have bought it. If you're in this part of Chicago, eat here. If you live up to about 15-20 minutes away, it's worth the trip. I know there are a lot of spots like this in this town...but this one is one step up. "I've been wanting to try this spot for a while, and I took my parents to experience it with me. We were first greeted with complementary ceviche tostada, which was fresh and delicious. We had no idea what to order (the menu is overwhelming with pictures and no prices), but our waiter pointed us right away to the special platter big enough to feed 3-4 people. That was the perfect dish to order for us because we loved the variety of seafood - lobster, crab, scallops, octopus, shrimp, etc - and the quality and amounts of it all too! The sauce was delicious, and we had a good amount of seafood leftover. The fries, fried rice, and garlic bread that came with it was also scrumptious. My dad's virgin pina colada (we didn't bring our own alcohol with us oops!) was very refreshing with the meal. The servers were so nice and explained that everything was made fresh to order too! It definitely tasted like it. Overall the price was well worth the value of quality and amount we got too - around $150 for the huge platter."

"My lovely wife and I attended a fine dim sum brunch with family at Dolo Restaurant on Archer, located sort of on the edge of the busier areas of Chinatown. Dolo has its own small parking lot for customers, and a few choice parking spots along Archer too. My cousin made a Saturday reservation for our party of 9, and so we were rewarded with one of the primo private dining spaces in the back. We ordered such a variety of dishes, with something to satisfy everyone's palates. My love absolutely adored the shrimp dumplings, while the BBQ pork chow mein hit the right notes for me as my older relatives distinctly remembered that I loved chow mein ever since I was a wee lad. Instead of elbowing others for precious real estate in the main dining area (quite busy as you would expect on a Saturday), our family brunch at Dolo was all good times thanks to yummy food, colorful stories, and warm hugs."

"I spent three days in Chicago for a work trip and wanted to make the most of my short trip, so I decided to take a drive out to Chinatown. On the way, I looked up recommended places to eat and Ken Kee looked pretty promising. Unfortunately, it was just alright.The outside of the restaurant is probably something to look at at night when all the neons are on, but the inside has a really cool retro styling with vintage-inspired lighting, neon signs, and kitschy posters. There were only two parties eating when I walked in, but it took a minute for the three people working to acknowledge me and even then, I got a half-hearted gesture toward a table and barely a hello.Service remained strange and lackluster throughout the meal. The waiter seemed a little standoffish and doubted that I knew how to order from the build-your-own-noodle-bowl menu, which, even if I wasn't extremely familiar with due to all the Asian restaurants here in the Bay Area that use them, would've been extremely simple to understand otherwise. Weirdness aside, I built my own bowl:- Base: plain noodle soup- Toppings: beef brisket- Noodle: handmade noodles- Broth: signature beef broth- Belly sauce- Medium spicy sauce- Green onionsMy food came out really fast and while it was a good portion, everything was somewhat middling. The flavors were a little lackluster, the spice was nearly nonexistent, and the beef brisket was a little fattier than I would've liked (though it was extremely tender). Good amount of noodles though, which were cooked perfectly. The bowl plus a can of Coke and tip came out to a little over $17. I'd be willing to go back (if I ever go back out to Chicago) to try some of their other dishes, but would likely want to prioritize trying some of the other places in the area first."

He spent lots of time chatting with us about the history of the restaurant and was just overall so friendly. We sat at a table that had a tribute to a long time regular, Mr. George Burrows. It was fun to learn the history of this patron.We had the Lobster GOT, the Fork & Knife Bacon and a side of Cauliflower Gratin and OMG....these dishes were riiiiiiiiiiich!. The Lobster pieces were nestled in butter, gooey cheese and herbs. The fork and knife bacon was huge! This slab of pork belly was tender and slathered in a smokey sweet sauce. The cauliflower was extra cheesy.This really was the perfect meal and dining experience. Food and service were top notch."

So I ended up ordering a fried oysters plate with fries, a fried shrimp plate, and a fried catfish plate all served with fries. Because I ordered catfish I asked in the comments if they can add tartar sauce to my order but I didn't receive any, so I assume they don't offer tartar. I also ordered cocktail sauce with all 3 plates, but received a cocktail sauce, hot sauce, and bbq sauce. The hot sauce was actually tasty, so I'm not upset that I received it. The fried seafood was all tasty, for around $16 for each plate it was filling. The catfish didn't taste frozen or like the cheap swai, it was surprisingly good as a Southerner. The batter wasn't overpowering or too floury. I definitely want to come to the restaurant to dine in and explore more of the menu."

"We were surprised to be able to be seated right away for a group of 4 on a Friday. It seemed busy inside but I think many people were there for a takeout order.This place is BYOB, which I appreciated, since their menu is so extensive. I would want them to focus solely on their menu.We got Mackerel a la carte - this was really good. As for rolls, we shared the Mafia, Tequila, Orchard, Inari, and a couple other ones that I can't remember. The black rice ones were surprisingly really good.The menu is very big, so it is very overwhelming to read and choose. I also dislike the amount of super white tuna (escolar) usage - this is a fish that is not very digestible. I'd consider coming back now that I've seen the menu once."

"It's been nearly a year since my visit, but here goes this draft in my draftbox, begging me to finish! My friend brought me here for my 41st bday last August. It's a casual, but formal affair, if that makes sense. The space itself is pretty grand and you can tell a great amount of attention went into its detail. We sat in what appeared to be a sunroom, the entire restaurant was packed (but not in a mess hall sort of way). While the restaurant would not be one I'd opt for visiting (out of my price range and in the heart of Logan which isn't my cup of tea but perfect for my friend who's the king of showing off--love him to death), it was certainly worth the visit. This restaurant hit every nail on the head when it comes to an experience, a word that has lost its luster in today's greedy, corners-cut, post-covid climate. Our server made recommendations and got to know us, our runner delicately deboned our fish before our very eyes, a manager poked by, since we ordered wine a wine specialist ran down an extensive list of wines and their backstories. Just perfect. We also went for lamb chops, a beet salad and dessert specially adorned with a candle. You can tell the restaurant is operated by professionals dedicated to their craft and anyone with a restaurant (or business) could benefit paying them a visit to experience the experience of what an actual experience should look and feel like!"

"We were looking for an authentic, casual and non spicy Chinese restaurant in Lincoln Park and this seemed to be the only one because it serves dim sums. So we went. It overall did not disappoint us! Restaurant was clean and bright and felt homey. Service was excellent during our visit. The dim sum menu is small but covers the classic ones. The time to get the dim sums on the table was slow but that's because the dim sums were made to order according to the menu. Not the best dim sums that I've had, but I am from Guangdong where dim sums are from haha. The quality is definitely decent and serves the craving."
