Stina is one of those restaurants we don't frequent because "it's so far away," but then every time we go, we leave saying, "we've got to start coming here more often!" We've gone for regular meals, tasting dinners, and collaborations, and every time, we leave impressed, full, and simply put: happy. The space is small and cozy, with eccentric decor and casual vibe, and the staff are always really friendly, teaming up to constantly make sure the table is cleared for the next dish (important when your table is small and your order is large) and that your group is enjoying their experience. It can be a tight squeeze, so be prepared to cozy up next to fellow diners. As far as the food, it's a fun mix of Mediterranean cuisine, based in Greek and Turkish, and just about everything hit the spot. If you're planning on ordering a lot of items to get a good sampling (which we recommend), definitely check on serving sizes and/or bring hungry friends. Some dishes are larger than others, so you don't want to be surprised or wasteful.Starting with the pizza. It's really good. The crust is closer to Neapolitan in texture and flavor, but size tends to run larger, and they're much heavier on the toppings. Same with their pide. The merguez pide, specifically, always fills us up. While we enjoy the pizza and always order one (or two), I really think the area Chef Bobby and his team really shines is their other dishes. We always have to get items from the mezze, pasta, and specials. Where the pizza is more predictable, their pasta and specials are often surprising and always delicious. If you show up with a moderate appetite and don't want to overdo it, put the effort into the pasta and daily specials. You'll likely to leave very happy. As if the atmosphere, staff, and food wasn't great enough, the restaurant also regularly gives back to local charities and the community. They also collaborate and promote local chefs and makers in the area. They're a mission-driven place that goes beyond the just the mission of keeping our appetites satiated.Sure, the 3-mile walk makes it feel "so far away," but our goal is get back to Stina with much more frequency. It's an epitome of a great, local BYOB. Affordable, friendly, delicious, unique, and engaged with their local community and city. Be sure to make a reservation (you'll need one) and check Stina out. You're unlikely to be disappointed.

Small restaurant so you will probably need reservations on any visit. I went with a tasty crab dish as the appetizer and we had the mushroom gnocchi and standard pizza. All were very good but I don't agree with Philadelphia magazine saying this is the best pizza in Philly (albeit with a sample size of 1 pizza). Definitely come here before or after a phillies game. Just remember to make a reservation.

Still the best. Intimate, ambient, byob, delicious and one of the best out there. We ate delicious food... the octopus is always a game changer.. drank wine, devoured the fungi pizza and the chicken kabobs and two of the specials and delighted in Chef Bobby's kitchen flair. This place is outstanding... time after time, year after year. If you haven't visited yet, what in the world are you waiting for?

It is a sin how delicious and affordable this place is. I wanted to take some out of town friends to a more upscale byob, and we were all blown away by the experience! It is an intimate, cute space, with lots of paintings. The owner is also the director of Philly aids thrift, so you see some vintage and quirky notes, but it was very clean and pristine! We got a spot by the window for four of us for a girls night. Our server was great - very personable and attentive without being overbearing. He gave several recommendations and we ordered all of them. We got the dips platter, the fried onions ( an upscale Mediterranean version of a bloomin onion that was insanely good), the braised greens pide, the eggplant pizza, the carrots, and the chicory salad. The pita, pizza, and pide dough was soooooo good. It was crispy and doughy and flavored with zatar. Everything was hearty, fresh, and light. I will order this same meal again and again!

Had both food specials and 2 pizzas for family of 5. Everything was so yummy. Sea bass was flaky and matched perfectly with the sauce. The short rib ragu was amazing. Used the crust to soak up all the gravy. Nothing on the plate was left behind. Highly recommend.

Top to bottom, appetizers to dessert, a 5 star experience. Just wish we lived closer to Stina, would eat there weekly.
