Fresh, flavorful Mediterranean fare done well in an intimate neighborhood restaurant.Came here with friends for a pre-wedding dinner and this place did really well as a fancy, but not over-the-top restaurant that was walking distance from the groom-to-be's townhouse. We shared the stuffed grape leaves and few other things for an appetizer and the stuffed grape leaves were light and flavorful like you'd like as opposed to being cold and dense like they'd been in a case all day. I got the Chicken Adana plate, which was somewhere in between chicken kabobs and chicken shawarma and really good. Spiced, but not spicy and tender but not ground. It came with rice and a grilled pepper. Like almost everything, it was simple and excellent, but not huge. The service was attentive and polite, but not intrusive. We brought wine which they corked and poured for us for a readable fee, which was a nice addition.

Very nice new phone as we love Turkish food. Our first time here we start off with the Ezme appetizer, have a very nice flavor profile surprisingly as we had no idea what to expect. For our main dishes, we shared the Monti, which is a go to favorite for us and the donor Gyro. What kept me from making us a five star was that the Gyro meat that was cut was dry. It would've been nice if they cut the dry and toss it and give you fresh moist meat. Unfortunately we must've been too early in the crowd. It's a BYOB and FYI if you came by car like us, good luck funny parking.

I might have set my expectations a little too high but Pera was definitely still good! We started with tabulli and I wouldn't recommend but the bread was great. We also had the calamari and it was really good but not super special. The shrimp kabobs had a great flavor but the shrimp themselves were kind of tough. Boyfriend ate himself into a coma with the doner gyro so I would say that was a good order. Service was phenomenal. The space itself is cute but I wouldn't really recommend for large parties

Five years in Philly and this is probably my number one most visited restaurant. A halal Turkish restaurant that serves some of THE BEST dishes in Philly. Located in northern liberties, it's a small restaurant with a beautiful interior and friendly staff. Not to be THAT person but I have also gone to Turkey, and the knafeh here tops some of the ones I've had in Istanbul, Ankara, AND Fethiye. (I might be taking it too far but it genuinely is really good in my opinion lol) I absolutely love the seafood options and my go to with friends is the mixed platter. That way you get to try a little of everything. Price wise it's definitely a bit more expensive so I save this place for those special moments. However, every penny spent is well worth it. I've compiled some of my best photos to really emphasis my love for the restaurant!

This is an amazing place to eat. Despite not offering reservations they're quick to seat you and offer fast service as well. It's BYOB so don't expect to see any alcoholic drinks on the menu. Overall, the menu is quite expansive and offers a lot of different options for small or large parties to share or have their own dishes. A lot of vegetarian friendly options as well - I couldn't recommend the smoked eggplant appetizer more. I would literally lick the bowl if I were home alone it was that great. For the ambiance, it's nice with paintings and pictures and moody lighting. Overall I'd absolutely recommend to friends and can't wait to visit again!

Excellent service and food! This place is super cozy and inviting. The meat was cooked perfectly and not dry. The serving size was also excellent. The cheese rolls were crisp, and a really yummy app. The salad was a nice balance for all the meat we ate. definitely give them a try!

Had a great visit here with a friend. Have you ever had some awesome halal food from a food truck around town? Coming here is like taking that food truck food and making it 100x better. The location is unassuming but very cute. Service is friendly and servers are happy to help pick items for you. We ended up getting a great assortment of dishes, but what really stands out is just the perfectly cooked, tender meat that they served up. Great value for money as well! Although they have gotten quite a lot of fame recently it still feels like a neighborhood joint. Do not forget to order the baklava, not only is it to die for, but it is very pretty as well.

Really fresh and flavorful ingredients in every dish. I think I liked every dip that was provided in the sampler. I really enjoyed the white eggplant dip (maybe I'm wrong and it's not eggplant !?)The Turkish coffee was great and it came with small Turkish delights. The candy paired well with the coffee.

In a city with so many Middle Eastern food options, Pera has become one of our favorites. We love their gyro and falafel sandwiches for lunch (affordably priced at ~$12). For dinner, our favorites are the doner/gyro platter ($21), which is SO much food and always is full of flavor, and the iskender ($25), a decadent, filling platter of bread and gyro meat layered with tomato sauce. We have discussed trying some of their cold meze and dessert (the baklava in the little bakery case looks so good), but the mains are so large, we end up too full to try anything else!Service is always friendly and the restaurant itself is cute, with blue plates, tiles, and evil eyes, as well as photos of Turkey on the walls. I believe Pera is BYOB as well. Its location in Northern Liberties makes it a bit of a long walk from Center City, but that is probably for the best - we'd probably come here all the time if we lived a little closer!

The most amazing Turkish restaurant in town. The food was really fresh, tasty and yum even better than Turkey itself. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. There were beautiful sketches and pictures from Turkey and Istanbul. It was so good that we went two days in a row
