"I think for a vegan restaurant, this place absolutely sets the bar. The food was delicious and fresh. I also think appealed to a wide audience. Neither myself nor the friend that I went with are vegans. Yet we found ourselves in love with Potato Croquettes, the sliders, and the Pan Seared Cauliflower. Our waiter was lovely and very attentive. My only complaint is that this place is dark. It is nearly pitch black inside the restaurant, and the space is very small. That made it challenging to have a conversation and truly enjoy my time there."
"Everything went well.Don't live far from here and always come when I have a taste for guaranteed goodness. The menu isn't large and that's great because the few things on there are done to perfection. I always experiment with cocktails and entree pairings but the charred octopus is my staple appetizer. Parking in the front is ample and the prices are reflective of the quality. Wait staff is attentive without being overbearing and the vibe is light and airy. Spacious digs with outdoor seating and dog accommodations outside as well. You can't be disappointed with the seasonings and although dessert isn't on the menu the do have a couple things the wait staff can riddle off without a stutter. Love it"

"Fabulous food in a fabulous, and unique, setting aboard an anchored ship. We all had fish--bronzino, salmon, and Red Snapper. All were fine, but the snapper was out of this world."
"Fantastic all around: decor, drinks, food, bartenders, staff, vibes. My favorite kind of spot that totally owns its originality and makes anyone feel welcomed and at-home.I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, wings, and parmesan pepper tots. The tots are addicting comfort food that I absolutely recommend not skipping. I appreciate that they have great vegan options and imagine the whole menu translates really well to takeout, if that's the kind of vibe you're feeling instead. The sandwich was super filling and not overly spicy, if you're a spice hesitant person.I grabbed a cider on tap and also tried the Cosmo Cloud cocktail, served with cotton candy and an absolute treat. I don't think I could do more than one (especially since this drink comes with a shaker full of cocktail remains...so it almost drinks like two cocktails) but I highly recommend giving it a go if you're in a sweet tooth kind of mood.Cannot wait until my next visit to South Street and Tmoms! Follow along on their social for all the fun and collabs they cook up all year long."
"Big portions. Good service. Good food.Esquites Guacamole $16 lots of chips and good amount of dipOptopus Al Pastor $16 soft, flavorful, potatoes that came with it was a nice touchBrisket Enchiladas $17 came out nice and hot! Be careful! Was good.Sweet Plantains $8 great snack even after taking it home for the next dayEverything we ordered was great portion size to share among the two of us."
"We were looking for a great outdoor spot to enjoy some light food, salads and sandwiches, nothing too fussy. We found Harper's Garden nearby that fit the bill perfectly. We walked up without reservations, but were offered a table for an hour, which we gladly accepted. It was very busy at lunch with what looked like local business people, but cleared out by 2pm when we headed out.The atmosphere at this restaurant is great, very casual and cute environment. Perfectly shaded outdoor pergola with a shade that allowed a lot of filtered light through. Very cute planters as well. The service was great - attentive but not hovering. My lemonade came in a dirty glass, but it was quickly switched out. Food came out quickly once we ordered. We ordered the pork sandwich, the turkey sandwich, the burger, 2 caesar salads, corn bread, and fries all around. The fries were perfectly cooked and salted. The pork sandwich was a bit too much bread, but the filling was fantastic. Everyone was very happy with their food!Great lunch time spot."
"I've been back a few times and I have an important update: ROYAL TAVERN HAS THE BEST GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH IN PHILLY Honestly, it might even be the best grilled cheese sandwich *in the world*"
"Been coming here for lunch special recently -- pretty great! I'm trying all the lunch special options and so far the ramen has been the most delicious and best value IMO.Large space and the workers are attentive and active but still chill as I hang out on my computer. There probably was a misunderstanding today with me being seated by one waitress and then another thinking I sat myself down but overall they've been mostly cordial and good experiences. As of now, still plan to continue to come for the lunch special."
"One of the finest culinary experiences in South Philadelphia and possibily all of Philadelphia but is it worth it?I changed my mind approximately four times on choosing a restaurant to go to for a big birthday number for myself however I decided upon Laurel as this birthday was a milestone and I had never had a wine pairing dinner before this occasion which Laurel offered.First of six courses started with a magical presentation of two large oysters over gorgeous rock pebbles that had water poured into them by our server to elicit a smoke rise from the small bowl. Presentation A++. Oysters were bathed in Honey and Camomile on the left side of the oyster. This was a great way to start the experience but I feel obligated to mention when you break down the cost you just ate a $30.00 oyster LOL. Ahhh...Talk about splurging for a birthday.I enjoyed all the wine pairings except the last pairing for dessert. Only criticism I have concerning the wine pairing is I hear most venue's refill pretty quickly once you finish the glass. One of the servers refilled my glass once. Now to be fair the food is coming out very fast at this restaurant, entree after entree very quickly, so it is hard to really time to refill a patron's glass before the next entree/wine pairing, but for $115 for premium wine pairing I think that is worth a mention. You can choose the $85 wine pairing or the $115 premium wine pairing, in my opinion if you are electing to go to a restaurant of this stature opt for the premium and trust the wine sommelier that they task with this service. To summarize, romantic atmosphere creating an intimate dining experience with delicious high end food accompanied with elegant service. Only you can decide if you prefer a more traditional dining experience that is more laid back or a six course set menu prepared by some of the finest culinary masters. As always people SYOY!!!"
"So fun!! One of the best happy hours in the city.I took my partner here for his birthday, and it happened to also be happy hour during the time our reservation was scheduled - boy, that saved me a lot! The happy hour had one of the best selections of food and drinks, and you don't need a spot at the bar to take advantage. The service was fantastic too - all the staff were sweet, energetic and engaging. They were quick with great recommendations. We thought the focaccia bread was a little overrated, especially because we preferred to fill up on their pasta (the non-happy hour crab pasta entree was to die for). But we tried so many (not watered down!) happy hour cocktails and plates. The ambiance is also beautiful and laid back. A place you'd want to spend hours in. Definitely worth it and a great value. We will definitely be back :)"
"The food here is great!! I love love their nachos! Love the picked onions and the "expensive cheese" that they use lol. The burrito my husband got had a little too much rice and beans. Their chicken tinga is flavored well. Ive also had their korean inspired dishes and loved the fusion flavor. I have gotten food through door dash and also sat their to eat and both experiences were good! Great mexican food in the neighborhood."
"came here on a Thursday and the environment was pretty fun. To my surprise as the evening got later there was a game night it seems because a dj was handing out bingo sheets throughout the place. It was a pleasant surprise. A lot of people played including myself and the prizes were pretty cool. I just came for drinks but I will be back for both drinks AND food. The bartender was very nice and attentive. This place is clean and the drinks were nicely made. I'd say the bartender i had definitely knew what she was doing my drink was strong. It was called a lavender moon."

Great ambiance and excellent vegan food (coming from a non vegan). I had the crab cakes made from zucchini and they were divine! The sourdough bread was chewy yet crisp on the outside. Worth a try!

I appreciated the vibe of In Riva- folks seemed to be enjoying themselves and the servers were attentive (but not too!)The Ballerini cocktail was dangerously good, I could have kept drinking them all night. The food was decent but I guess I expected more:1. Arugula and mushroom salad- we thought the mushrooms would be cooked- they were just freshly cut up. It would have given the salad more flavor. The rest of it was fine.2. The burrata was good, but it had a lot of olive. When we ordered the Branzino, we requested olives on the side, but there wasn't a note about there being olives in the burrata so we didn't ask. So one of us couldn't eat the whole dish.3. As for the burrata, I am glad we asked for the olives on the side because it was a very salty (yummy) mix. The fish wasn't mindblowing, it was good though. One thing that I really appreciated is that when we got to our table, the people next to us were quite loud, and I couldn't hear my wife. And the seat cushions were lopsided, so sitting was uncomfortable. When I asked to move, it happened immediately, and the meal was so much more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. Thank you!

Came for coffee and dessert after a wonderful day in the city. We were seated by the window and had a wonderful server named Patti. ((I cannot sing her praises enough for the care & the stellar hospitality that she gave us. We ordered a hot apple cake dessert with a scoop of ice cream and two coffees. how happy we felt! Absolutely, fresh and delicious, and the warmth of the desert really felt so soothing after chilly day at the Christmas markets in Philadelphia. It's an absolutely wonderful place to come with friends ... and even a special date. Everytime I board this ship I have the time of my life.If I had my ukelele... I would play a lil' song about the delightful Patty and her care, the dreamy venue on the river with lovely food.

I see why one of my friends loves this place. I was hoping for the special teri beef sando sandwich but no luck. Vegan sweet bbq wings and reasonably priced cool cocktails are nice here. This is a cool place and reminds me of older South Street except it is still around. They support the community here and have good food and drinks. What more can you ask for?

I had a good time here! There is a lot of space, but they took a while to get us in which was absurd because it wasn't really busy -- however food came fast and service was overall good! The portions of tacos were fair, but we also came out happy hour, so I don't know if I would pay full price for the tacos! They were yummy but I wasn't blown away! I liked how the regular guac was a little bit spicy and they had interesting variations of the guacamole, like yellowfin etc.

Beautiful atmosphere whether sitting outside on the garden terrace or the modern- designed indoors. Our large party was seated inside, upstairs at a long table with comfortable seats. Our server was excellent- someone in our group had brought a few bottles of wine and they graciously opened and served it to us. My partner ordered the scallops, which he said were delicious. The roast chicken I had was very tasty . It came with a couple of pieces of cannelloni that were tasty but not warm enough to really enjoy. There was also a pancake of some kind underneath the crepes, also tepid but tasty.

Returned to try the vegan wings that a friend had raved about. I swear this is an 'emperor's new clothes' scenario because these were absolutely the worst vegan wings I've ever had. It wasn't like I had a 'just okay' meal - these were honestly pathetic and frankly embarrassing to serve. For $16, you get just more than a handful of hard shards that are fried to oblivion. They reminded me more of the little scraps you find at the bottom of a frier basket than a 'wing'. There's no 'meat' to them - they're more like very tiny, thin crispy chips. And I've rarely met a sauce or condiment I didn't like, but after trying all four of the dipping sauces, I discovered new levels of bland. None of them made me want to go back for a second dip.I guess I'm missing something with this new menu, but it breaks my heart that it's so far from what it used to be, and instead it's just pricey, small portioned and disappointing. I think this place will be a 'drinks only' joint for me unless the menu gets an overhaul.

Came here on a Friday night with a friend, and I was actually confused where the door was because it was all glass and I didn't know where the handle was. Long behold there was a small door on the side that you could open. ( I was standing there looking confused and dumb lol)Anyways first time here since I'm visiting and they only accept cash on weekends (Friday, sat, sun) so make sure you bring cash or use the ATM machine they have inside. The food came out quick and we were sat down fast, I had a mixed drink and I got the miso ramen. We also shared Takoyaki as an appetizer as well. Food was good, broth was good light and flavorful and noodles were too my liking, not too hard, not to soft. They play literally music in here kinda loud, I felt like I lowkey was at the club lol.My only complaint was that we didn't have a lot of cash on us so we ended tipping the waitress with whatever left cash we had (which was 8$) and right when we got our check back she was explaining that minimum tipping is mandatory and that we needed to tip, I literally apologize and said I didn't have anymore cash on me and I wasn't going to use the atm to get money to tip, so she said she can take Apple Pay or Venmo. I literally thought to myself "is this a Philly thing?" And then I said it out Loud and she looked at me and I was like wtf I've never heard of something like this, she walked away and was prob talking shit but she came back and said "if it's too inconvenient for you then you don't have to" so then I was like what was the point of giving me your Venmo then. So then I got up and was like okay what ever byeeeeeee LOL. Idk if I'll be back because that literally ruined my mood. Like girl you checked on me maybe 1 time and you didn't even refill my glass of water.

"We've always heard good things about the Good King Tavern, but never thought to come by. I'm really glad we finally checked it out last month because all the good things we heard are true.I have to admit what really brought us here was the fact that they're DOG FRIENDLY! Since we came with our dog, we had to sit outside, but there are plenty of tables inside for indoor dining as well. Even though the outdoor seating area is on the sidewalk, this street is pretty quiet with not a lot of foot or car traffic, which makes this set up so ideal. There is also an awning attached to the restaurant, keeping guests protected from the sun or light rain. As for the food, everything we had from the beginning to end was delicious and on point. During dinner, my husband knocked over his glass of wine. Even though this was completely his fault, our server felt bad and comped our dessert, which was incredibly nice of her. Overall, we all had a great time. Service was great, and the food was very delicious. A lot of times, when we bring our dog out to eat with us, we have to sacrifice eating well. But NOT at the Good King Tavern. Here, we can have our cake and eat it too. I foresee us having a lot of doggie dinner dates here!"
"Hey, Yelp family! Yes, I'm making a review JUST about the bread pudding. I have tell ya'll about our date night at Booker's and this bread pudding situation--it was pure dessert nirvana! Picture yourself snuggling up with spoonfuls of warm, gooey bliss that melts in your mouth. It's as if they bottled up Grandma's secret sauce lol Hi, Grandma! (She doesn't Yelp but gets mad if I don't shout her out anyway)And let me tell you, you can taste the homemade flavor in every bite. I asked and there's defintiely an Auntie in the kitchen making it HAPPEN. I literally thanked her for making my day. What is the best part? The people at Booker's treated us like family. Seriously, their customer service is top-notch.So, the next time you want something cozy and pleasant, stop by Booker's for a taste of their famous bread pudding. You'll be hooked, just like we were!"
"Really great pizza and cocktails!! I had the pharmacist which was really refreshing and I would highly recommend. We got a few salads and pizzas and I didn't get the chance to take pics of everything before my family dug in. Our server told us the pizza oven was imported and you could tell everything was really fresh and authentic! I picked the Melazzo pizza and everyone grabbed a slice right when he set it down so I missed my photo op :) but that tells you how good it looked!! I would definitely recommend that pizza!"
"Got some banh mi delivered. The food kept very well even though it was delivery. I loved the Obama Bowl. I think it was the perfect meal. The bowl contains grilled pork and grilled pork sausage. It was definitely food meant for a former President. The Phở Brisket was very good as well. I think it was really cool that they incorporated pho into their banh mi sandwiches. The grilled beef tasted amazing as well. ***Update- my roommate and I both ended up getting sick after the food. Hopefully this is a one time thing and was just a fluke."
"It's been a while since I've dined here because they stopped serving lunch following the pandemic. Last night two friends and I met for dinner, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had here!I had made a reservation for 5:30pm. We all arrived early and they were happy to seat us early. They were starting to get busy (by the time we left the place was completely packed!). Our server, Mirabel (?), was wonderful -- very friendly, attentive, and accurate. Since it was the others' first time, I insisted they try the Estia Chips, which are a crowd favorite. Indeed, it was better than I'd remembered; in fact, one of the gentlemen in our party said it was "the best zucchini he's ever had." The house bread and hummus were also delicious; their hummus is one of the best.I opted for the Avgolemono (soup) and Dolmades as my meal -- both of which I've had on multiple prior occasions. Portions and temperatures were perfect and the flavor was out of this world! We all enjoyed glasses of wine (rose for me). No dessert as we were all pretty full.I am so happy I had a chance to come back and will continue to recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. My friends were highly impressed and said it was worth every penny!"
"Delicious Mexican food with yummy margaritas! Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. FYI: the whole restaurant is open like a covered patio. It was a hot day but the fans kept it pretty cool. The staff was very accommodating with my 83 year old mom and my husband who need to be near a fan. The place has a relaxed vibe. The margaritas were very good. Our server asked if we wanted sugar or salt. The food was delicious! The empanadas were nicely fried without being greasy. The birria tacos had tender beef, good flavor and the dipping broth was tasty. The chicken tacos also had good flavor and weren't overly spicy."
"Another couple and ourselves live in Bensalem and go to Center City Philly often. We usually spend our time in the Gayborhood, Old City, Rittenhouse Square, or South Street. Dont go to often to Fishtown, so we dont know a lot of places there. This past Saturday we went to Lloyds Cocktail Bar after searching VisitPhilly for a place to go in Fishtown after a show at the Arden Theater. We just hoped on the El to Girard Ave.The coctails were great, the food was great and the service excellent. In fact our group regularly drinks at home a little known cocktail made with Suntory Toki Japanese Whiskey and since they had Toki behind the bar we asked the bartender if he would make it for us if we told him how. He said yes, he made it and it was great. We'll definitely be returning."
"One of my favorite places on this side of the neighborhood. You can never really go wrong here. Good beer list. Good food."
"Go down an alley and then another alley and head on in. It was a Friday night, 10 bucks cover charge. We grabbed a drink at the main bar. Dark, loud, and a good mix of clientele. My SIL saw an upstairs sign and we went to check that out to find the dance floor. Pretty sure we were the oldest ones up there but it was a ton of fun. Buying drinks with a credit card and they add 20% tip, per all the signs we saw. They had high noons not in sight but they do carry them (white claws give me a headache). Bartender seemed like she could care less about smiling but she was quick."
"I saw they were on Resy and booked a table after doing some quick research for ceviche. The Food was amazing! I was on the hunt for some really good and fresh ceviche and they didn't disappoint. The lomo saltado was tasty and flavorful. I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the Philly area or passing by and looking for a hearty meal."
"They have a GREAT happy hour. I have been here for dinner as well, but HH is on point. Sometimes they run out of things but this adventure was with my bestie who showed me their greatness! So much food from rolls to edamame. Carrot cake dessert (yes yes yum!) dumplings and a not about the wings. We had them fried hard with sauce on the size. I do not like a wet soggy wing. I'm sorry I cannot remember the server's name but she was amazing. You would know her if you experienced her. Attentive and reads the table. I was never waiting long before a new margarita appeared. Food came out in cycles to not overwhelm. We were at a small table so that's part of it but she was amazing!!!"
"I love going to a place where the waiter is in love with the menu. Nestor took care of us tonight. It really heightened the experience to have someone going over the menu and making suggestions that they seemed genuinely excited for us to try. Honestly some of the things we would've never chosen for ourselves and they turned out to be the best. It was also my wife's birthday so we were given a glass of champagne for her and ginger ale for me. Such a nice gesture. For instance the prosciutto with the horseradish kind of scared us, but the horse radish was so subtle. It came with something similar to an Asian crispy noodle. There was a crispy pork dish with pineapples that was absolutely delicious. Fritti I think was the dish. Nestor explained to us how it's made and why it's so good. The roasted beets were delicious. The Burrata salad was so good. It was a very different mix of tastes that would make no sense if described separately but spectacular when combined. Like Captain Planet. For my main dish Casoncelli is what was suggested to me. It was fantastic. I also got the crispy potatoes. They were perfectly crispy and good but I don't recommend wasting space on them. The cannoli cheese cake was amazing. We were bursting at the seams after all this food. Portions are perfect. We are already planning to return for brunch."
"Amazing place. We tried the black bean burrito along with sweet potato fries. Both of them tasted really good.Definitely coming back again :)Tip - if a single burrito serving is too much for you, ask them to make it into half and serve for two. Attached is a picture of the half burrito. Ambiance - We always get the outdoor seating and enjoy the food in the evenings.Parking - Street parking"
"I went to the coffee shop they have downstairs at the MOTTO Ordered a horchata latte. And a ham and cheese empanada. Omg the empanada is so good. Flaky and there was salsa roja inside it when i took a bite. I definitely recommend! If i come back to PHILLY I'll go again. Perfect service."
"After reflecting on my experiences here the last year or so, I've adjusted my rating of Bardot from 3 to 5. Bardot is a delightful, no-frills bar that exceeds expectations with its immaculate interior and exceptionally friendly staff. It stands out as one of the most polished (dive?) bars I've visited. A dive by some standards, there's a level of sophistication here. It's clean, water is freely available, and TouchTunes is typically on point. The food is good, although I wouldn't necessarily opt for takeout. Their beers are reasonably priced. The bar consistently offers a fun vibe and a secure environment. I might not rave about the food, but I definitely recommend stopping by for some affordable beer, straightforward cocktails, and a great atmosphere."
"Wishbone has some of the best crispy fried chicken. But I go for the salads!! Fantastic food all around and a huge selection of premium drinks. And most importantly, it is always served with a smile!!"
"This was a tough one to rate. The Lobster Bisque was good but nothing all that special. My Scallop entree was a mixture of corn, risotto, artichokes and capers which, for me, hid the taste of the scallops. The Lamb Loin special entree was generous, delicious and different from other lamb dishes we've had with cippolini onions and shredded cabbage. A new dessert to us was Affogato - a delicious mix of salted caramel gelato, whipped cream and a piece of Biscotti served with a small pitcher of coffee to pour around the dish. Very different and delicious. Busy place so you might need a reservation, at least on the weekend."
"Hip bar with amazing drinks and tasty food! We were staying at the AKA Rittenhouse hotel and decided to have drink our second night (on a Sunday evening). We truly wished we would of came here our first night. First off, we were surprised how busy the bar was on a Sunday. It wasn't packed but nearly every seat was taken. We tried some of their different drinks with quirky names which were generously poured and crafted with care. The bartender on our end of the bar was friendly with everyone and his drinks were so good. The bar is dimly lit but not to dim that you need your phone to read the drink menu. We ordered some food to take back to our room which included the crispy oyster mushrooms, beet salad, and fettucine- all were delicious!! We will definitely be back!"
"Overall a great experience and we will be back. We ordered the octopus, broccoli rabe and sausage, squid ink pasta, and table-side fileted grilled Branzino. Wine and old fashioned to drink.Broccoli rabe was just ok. Table side filet was underwhelming. Everything else was superb. Wine was good. Old fashioned was excellent! And I am a picky drinker. We came for our 10 yr anniversary. The ambiance, service, cleanliness...all superb! A bit pricy but nothing unmanageable. Worth a try!"
"Very quick service - to the point where it was a bit scary. We order and within 5 minutes all the food was out. We skipped drinks - pricy but looked good. Enjoyed the decor. Top dishes were the eggplant , the mushrooms sliders and the crab cakes Strongly disliked the dry edamame dumplings. Meatballs were ok but the star of the dish was the focaccia"
"Dan Dan stands out as a uniquely good restaurant. I'll admit, this was more of an adventure for me because I'm limited in my knowledge of Asian cuisine outside of maybe Chinese take out, sushi, and a recent introduction to dim sum. However, at first I was little intimidated by the menu. However, our server was extremely patient and helpful with our party of 12. The scallion pancakes were superb. I've had them at other places, but these are amazing. The suggestion of the chicken wings was a pleasant surprise. Really good. And how can you not have Dan Dan noodles? Spice was on point and balanced. The 3 cup chicken in presentation was good, but in flavor and taste was great. Everything I tasted was flavorful. But the restaurant itself beautiful. This place is a gem. I'm feeling cultured and junk now."
"The experience I had here, drinking a dark and stormy with the windows wide open on a gorgeous spring day in Philly, is what 5 star dreams are made of. I am excited to go back and try out more of the food items, but the bar is well-priced and they have a fantastic happy hour. This part of South will surely have a bit more foot traffic now that Jim's is back open, and Milkboy is a fab part of this re-renaissance.They have a great upstairs space here that hosts everything from comedy to cover bands, and you can't beat the vibes in the bar space as well. The bar staff here was accommodating, speedy, kind, and helpful during my visit, and I look forward to the next time I get to stop by."
