"Do you want an alternative to the local "Latin" eating establishment in southern Dade this is the place. Don't expect fancy decorations or over the top service just good old fashioned Cuban food. And when I say old fashion I mean like my dad made for us and his clients back in the day. To call it a simple plate is not the proper adjective more like a platter. Yes when you order a plate and take half of it home it's a platter. The wife had the Chicarron de Cerdo, think of deep fried pork belly with rice black beans and sweet plantains. All it needed was some mojo on the the side (a simple suggestion) and you have a home run. I had the breaded chicken steak that looked like a blanket. Very tender and juicy. And if you get an appetizer make sure you have at least 4 people or be prepared to take some home. Great fast food for the family. Take out looks like a must but great little hole in the wall with fantastic food."

"We had just checked out of our hotel and headed to the airport and looked for a breakfast place nearby. Saw this one and I'm very happy we tried it!Very good! We had the Protein Banana Nut Pancakes and an egg & cheese breakfast croissant. Both were very delicious. The pancakes had flaxseed which helps with digestion and it can be a strong seed to cook with but they did an excellent job!Heads up for out of towners- it's a restaurant with a walk up window where you order and take your food to go. They have a tent to the right of the restaurant where they have about 5-6 tables for you to sit and enjoy your breakfast but no indoor seating. I highly recommend this little Jem of a restaurant!"

"This review is for the flatbread with the pulled pork, sweet plantain and truffle - what magician came up with this concoction?Not going to lie, it could've used a bit more char but when I came home I popped my leftovers in the air fryer and it was beyond perfect! The matcha latte was probably the worst I've had in my life. Cafe was very small and we were fortunate to wait 2 minutes for a seat on a Sunday at 2 PM or so."

"Cute little cafe in Ft Lauderdale. It's a great spot if you have a test in this area or staying in a hotel. Very chill vibes inside and they have plenty of breakfast items and mini sandwiches with good prices. The design of the coffee shop is very relaxing unlike most places in Miami that are cluttered and stressful. Maybe only two people sitting inside and are quiet. No kids either. You can focus and finish whatever work you have if you need to on your laptop. The lady working there is very nice and quiet. I appreciate that a lot. It's hard to find quiet and nice coffee shops nowadays with all the noise pollution. Parking: a bit confusing but call the shop and they will tell you exactly where to park. There is a whole parking garage if you go around the building but you have to park around spot 04 close to the door of the cafe. It will take you directly to the coffee shop from the garage. Overall: I like this coffee shop, I would definitely come here again."

"I tried this place after looking for a smoothie by the beach. This mango papaya and orange smoothie was refreshing and made fairly quickly. The inside is nice and clean there were plenty of people dining in and there is also an outside seating option. Very conveniently located near the beach in Sunny Isles and I would definitely recommend trying if in the area. I am unsure about the other smoothies and hope to try them soon but this one was very refreshing without being too sweet or too frozen. I also tried the organic Paleo chocolate and it was OK. I personally would not purchase it again for eight dollars. Overall the staff was nice and readily available when we walked in and we had our order within a matter of minutes."

"Juneteenth 2023I had the day off from work as it is a holiday. Love Coconut Grove and came here with a friend to walk around and to get lunch. When we finally found a place to park on the street it was in front of this store. Once inside I realized that it was just featured in a Local design magazine and I ripped out the page as I wanted to visit their location closest to me at the Aventura Mall. Once inside it carries the most unusual of home decor items, gifts as well as clothes and jewelry. There was entire section of finds from Greece. As well as beautiful jewelry. Right out front they have a cafe as well so something for everyone. Definitely a must see stop on your next visit to Coconut Grove."

"After the beach, we were looking for Cuban sammie but everything in the area seemed like tourist traps. I don't think Cuban sandwiches should cost $15. Then, I found Cubaton via Yelp and it looked decent. So we stopped in on a Sunday at around 4. I had Pan con Lechon (slow-roasted mojo-marinated pork, mojo onion, & garlic-cilantro aioli) and Hubby had the Original Hot Honey Cubano (slow-roasted mojo-marinated pork, smoked ham, melted swiss, pickled jalapeño, mustard, & hot honey). I was expecting the pan con lechon to be dry but thankfully it wasn't. I liked the pickled onions. The sandwich could have used more aioli. The hot honey cubano was meh. I think there was just too much going on there, but we took that risk. Should have just stuck to the original. Maybe that one is better. It's not bad if you happen to be in the area, but if I was looking for a go-to Cubano shop, this wouldn't be it. P.S. Check out their bathroom. It has a fun theme."

A bit on the expensive side, but worth it. The cachitos are the best in Miami. They are very soft and the flavor is delicious. The quality of the ham is great. I wish it had a little more moisture inside (which some bacon could easily solve). The ones filled with ham and cheese could use a more melty cheese. The ham and cheese croissants are scrumptious! So freaking good - very airy, crispy, and buttery. Enough ham and cheese that is not overwhelming. You absolutely need to get a palmerita (palmier), which is a food dream come true. The extra caramel on the outside made it sooooo crispy and the butter is in your face but in the best way possible. My mouth waters as I write this."

"In case it's not clear from other reviews and photos, this place is very small. The inside only has an ordering counter and no seating. Outside, there are a few tables shared with a few other neighboring restaurants, where you can eat your take out.I had wanted to try their ramen, but decided that it's not the set up for it, so I opted for the onigiri, which I always had fond memories of when it sustained me on a student budget in Japan, and takoyaki. The onigiri comes in a neat package (you can get these prewrapped seaweeds at Kimchi and other Asian stores) that allows you tear off the plastic and have the seaweed wrapped around the rice almost magically. The flavor was okay, fit the bill of filling me up. The takoyaki is pretty good, it came out piping hot. As I ate at the table, I had to battle with the wind to keep the plastic boxes and napkins from flying away. I probably would have enjoyed the food more under better circumstances. I can see this place being a good option for take outs for people in the neighborhood, but sadly not for me."

I came on a Monday and was seated as soon as I walked in. The place is pretty open and airy. I ordered the Croque Madame "Our Style" which came with an American Coffee and natural orange juice. The portion was huge and I was not able to finish it. However flavor wise the food was bland. I feel like I could have made the same breakfast plate at home. My friend ordered the salmon egg Benedict and she said it was good but nothing out of this world. Not a huge fan of this place."

"We had some time before the showtime. So, this place was right next to the Colony Theatre, and we decided to have some drinks. My husband had a draft beer from Wynwood brewery, and I had Sparkling sangria. I couldn't choose between red or sparkling. The friendly wait staff suggested sparkling. I am so glad that I listened to his suggestion. This sangria came with a cute decoration of different fruits and tasted really yummy. Since the place was packed, the service was a bit slow. But sitting outside under the nice weather, we didn't mind waiting. My friend who lives in Miami Beach told me that this was one of her favorite places. I can see why!"

"Another place I visited after a long day at the hospital with my daughter and her father where no one spoke English. However, it didn't phase me one bit. Staff was still super friendly. And to top off my great experience, our bill was only $25.00 for the both of us to eat and leave satisfied and stuffed."

Easily some of the best I've had in South Florida.All (most) meals are under $10 and although it has seating inside most seemed to call in orders and pick up. The scariest thing about this place is parking and just getting to the location. Traffic around it can be extremely busy so take the food and run."

Ordered Iced coffees which were great. My brother ordered hummus with pita. It was just mediocre. The pita was soft but tasted packaged. The hummus was not great either. He asked for well toasted pita and was charged for another side of bread. He also ordered the mushroom salad which he enjoyed. I ordered the fettuccine with creamy pesto. It was cold, and the sauce appeared to have just been poured on top without being mixed well. They offered to reheat it but I did not come for reheated food. Fortunately I was able to order something else instead. I ordered the tuna salad plate which was fresh and tasty. For dessert we ordered the breakfast waffle to share. They accidentally brought us the nutella brownie instead. We ended up having both. They were both excellent. The food here was not as good as I remember it from the past. The service was great. I highly recommend the desserts."

My daughter has a very specific caviar allergy that normally prevents here from being able to eat sushi - but that wasn't a problem here and she was so excited to be able to order a California roll. The girls also enjoyed mango slushies. It was raining during our second visit but that wasn't an issue for the outdoor seating because they had plastic guards shielding the covered seating area, along with fans to keep you cool. The young lady taking orders really had a grasp of the menu and was on top of things."

"Joanna's Marketplace has been around for years. They have delicious baked goods, sandwiches, meals, desserts, and unique food and drinks from other countries. During holidays, it's always packed with people ordering and picking up food. For example, during Thanksgiving, people line up to get freshly prepared and cooked mashed potatoes, turkey, sauces, vegetables, sides, and more. There's seating outside so people can eat and drink. Super dog friendly. The employees are really nice and welcoming, which is pretty rare in Miami. My favorite items that I've ordered in the past are almond croissants, cookies, salmon sandwich, cooked vegetables, and more."
