My only gripe with the food was that the Fajitas for 2 do not come with two plates of beans and rice, which I thought was the whole point of fajitas for 2. Their pupusas are some of the best restaurant pupusas you'll get. The rice ones were a bit hard and not how they should be, so I wouldn't recommend getting them.Their tamales were delicious and had a surprising amount of chicken in them.My server was attentive and helpful, I have nothing against them on that. Overall a good, cheap, and authentic eating experience."

Sarah R. "This place is amazing! The pupusas are delicious, as all pupusas are, and so having them in buffet form is the best idea I've heard of in a long time. The place is very small and casual, and prices are good. The people who work there are nice and friendly. Knowing a little Spanish will help you to order, but if you don't speak Spanish and the person working there doesn't speak English, gesturing to the buffet will probably get your point across. If you are Salvadoran, you will not be disappointed in this place either. One evening, I had a last minute need to pick up food to feed 10 of my friends. About half of them were from El Salvador. I stopped by this place, and they got my huge order together in less than 15 minutes, including pupusas with cream and beans. Everyone thought the food was excellent. So there you go: Salvadoran-approved pupusas in buffet form. You can't go wrong!"

We'll but is 9:42 I said. She said we are cleaning already so is to late to take take your order . I told her is fine thanks. My concern is if you don't take orders after 9:42 just call google and ask them to change your business hour otherwise client are going to keep calling you. At the same I'm happy to not being able to try your food after I see your photos reviews I see some one complaints about finding a cucaracha in your food. That's not good at all. After looking for another place to order my dinner I found antojitos salvadoreños 12 min away from my location I call in at 9:48pm they took my order very happy and friendly staff and they also closed at 10:00 I dot arrive to the place at 10:00 exactly and my food was ready. Now this place most def needs a renovation but to be honest the atmosphere to this place really makes the experience the best. This restaurant is like a little house it's family owned and the brother and sister that own it are super nice. It's a small staff and they always have some type of sports game on. The food is to die for while I love Pupusas I would recommend trying the yuca frita con chicharrón, mondongo, mariscada, and the tamales. Everything is made fresh and delicious. The drinks are also made fresh I recommend the chan and tamarindo. Another thing to love about this place is that it is super affordable I've had dinner for 5 here and it was $53!Don't be scared off by the looks of the place it's aged but very clean. I was disappointed that they were out of the fruit salad agua fresca. I ordered a cheese and loroco pupusa. It comes with the usual cabbage and tomato sauce. The curtido (cabbage) was too vinegary. It was over done. I've had better pupusas in Houston. I ordered a corn tamal to go. They gave me salty cream to accompany it. The tamal could have been more moist. Prices are very reasonable. I paid $3.50 for both items. The staff in the restaurant were very nice but I don't know if I'd go back for pupusas."

Manda C. "We were in the area for a short visit last Friday so we decided to Door Dash instead of driving around looking for a late lunch. This place turned out to be a crowd pleaser!I placed an order for a variety of pupusas and one beef fajita quesadilla to feed 4 people. The prices were fairly typical considering upcharges for certain ingredients and most restaurants having to change prices due to the numerous challenges of COVID. I specifically ordered the queso y pollo for myself, that's always been my favorite. We also got several each of queso, queso y chicharron, queso y fajita and revuelta. It took a while to arrive, especially for an off peak time. It almost seemed like they accepted the order... and then accepted again more than 20 minutes later. The menu was varied, although I would've liked to order some a la carte side items. That's probably just a limitation of Door Dash though. The food itself was a big hit, only a couple of pupusas made it to leftover status and then there was the infamous standoff in front of the fridge later where several people are demanding to know the fate of the rest. Sometimes you have to decide if you are hungry or love your family, but damn I was looking forward to more!I really loved the queso y pollo, it had the perfect ratio and texture and was top notch delicious! I wanted to try several others, but we're a bunch of animals and ended up doing zero sharing so I can't weigh in on flavor profiles for anything else. However, there were no complaints and everyone said theirs was really good multiple times. I would definitely order again, but I'll plan better and save myself a secret stash next time!"

Larry B. "A good way to learn Spanish (and its country variations) is to immerse yourself in a place where they only speak Spanish. And, to a yelper, the 'place' is a restaurant like this one.The Salvadoran restaurant is one of four in Houston in the chain, and looks like a remodeled strip center place. It is fairly stark in décor, except for landscape murals (by Felix) on the walls of what looks like Salvador. But it looked clean, so I Their specialty is Pupusas, which are corn and/or rice dough filled with cheese and/or pork. But, the menu has a variety of dishes, including seafood and burgers. If you are really adventurous, you might try the beef feet soup (I didn't).On the table are some interesting things (but no free chips and dip):Bottle of Picamas hot sauce (Guatamaln green hot sauce... not very hot) and Curtido (vinegary cole slaw in a giant jar).Good news: There are pictures on the menu of several items. And if you are new to this kind of place, there are some interesting items, drinks and desserts on the menuI had:Tamales de galina (chicken) - 1/2" thick corn/rice masa wrapped in a banana leaf, and filled with a very small amount of chicken ... not worth the $2Antojitos Mexicanos (taco) - corn tortilla with cilantro, onions and chopped beef in 1/2" pieces .... very good taste and value, and for only $1.50 ea.Cocktail de camerones - the small size ($7) was chock full of real shrimp (not the tiny canned ones) and reasonably tasty, but not great (it's a good healthy choice, though)Service at lunch is by one non-English-speaking person, who also runs the cashier and makes the drinks and some of the cold dishes. Luckily, there were only a few other customers, so the wait time was not too bad for me.I might come back and try some more items, knowing that I can rely on at least a couple of the Antojitos Mexicanos."

Interesting place - I was having my phone repaired a couple doors over when I noticed Saritas and stopped for a water. Once inside, I discovered it was a Spanish only speaking place. The 14 year cashier was brilliant. She spoke English but made me try my Spanish and described everything sans Ingles. She gave me a sampler platter since this was not Mexican food but actually Salvadoran. Wow - rice and black beans, excellent, chicken tamale - too much corn but then it was on to other items, all OK but then the Elotes (a mixture of corn meal and sweet kernel corn) cooked in a banana leaf and shaped like a tamale. Excellent. I am glad that my Blackberry died again the next day and that I had make an 18 mile drive out for repairs. Again I saw the 14 year old who turns out to be a Sunday School teacher and a great hostess to introduce you to Saritas. I left with more samples and two Elotes. Lou C. "Two words about Mi Case de Sabor - muy amable (very friendly in Spanish). I was amazed with a warm welcome as I walked in this restaurant. Being a Hispanic Asian, I have advantages in many ways. Mi Casa de Sabor reminded me of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in South America where I came from. It has a large dining room to accommodate parties. The South American decorations and endless Latin American music made feel like the good old days. Here is how I found Mi Casa de Sabor on my staycation. I was shopping nearby on a rainy day. My immediate thought was "I want soup!" So, I pulled out my Yelp app and started to search what pops up with benefits.I considered soups and appetizers quick comfort foods. I ordered a beef bone soup and empanadas. The meat was so tender and the soup was flavorful. I was surprised with the size of the shank meat. I literally have to use fork and knife to cut it. Then, empanadas were so good. I normally expect huge cavity in the meat pie. But I was wrong again. The empanada was fill with vegetables, rice and beef; and there was no room for air. It took the kitchen a little longer than most restaurants for what I ordered. But I took time to enjoy studying the menu. I would come back for pupusas. I also want to try enchiladas as recommended by my Yelper friend Maria S.The friendly staff is another reason for my return. I enjoyed a weird stare from customers because I'm Asian. But it's okay. Manda C. "Overall, this is a good pupuseria! The service was good, the pupusas were solid, the prices were reasonable and the agua fresca was delicious!I only had two minor complaints about the entire experience. First, the chicken and cheese pupusa I got had very little chicken. I am used to shredded chicken applied evenly, whereas these were larger chunks spread out. The taste was still great, but it wasn't what I was expecting. The other thing is very minor and only applies if you are planning to order a bunch for later. I have had some great pupusas that tasted just as good cold as they did hot, but these don't keep. Not a big deal, just don't over order or let them sit too long. The texture is unpleasant when that happens. This was our first visit to this location. We were headed into Houston and already hungry. We stopped in here because it was convenient off 249 and not far from our destination. We were placing a to go order for nine pupusas to bring to some family members. It took a few minutes to be noticed and helped, but kudos to the girl who helped us. She clearly didn't notice us, because she was startled to see us and very apologetic. She then gave us a menu to look through and gave us a run down of a few items. She was very helpful. The prices are great in my opinion and match up to the portion. The queso pupusas are $1.99 each and the others we got with meat were $2.50. We ordered three each of beef, chicken and queso. We then added on some drinks when we were told the wait time was 20 minutes. My husband got a Tamarind Jarrito and I got a cantaloupe agua fresca. The total with tax was $26.65.The wait time didn't bother me as this place has 18 tables of various sizes and they were more than half full. The entire staff was hustling and they were kept very busy with all the tables and other to go orders. I think they did a solid job. They offered quite the variety of agua fresca's and I was thrilled to taste these were freshly made in house! The cantaloupe was delicious and there was plenty of the fruit right in the cup!! I really recommend this, or any of their other flavors. It was naturally sweet and refreshing. The food was made by the same person who took our order and it was ready in about 20 minutes. It smelled amazing! The pupusas were a hit with the family. Their cheese was very savory and had depths of flavor- it really hit the spot! There are a few items to note. Parking out front fills up quick! Luckily there is more parking in the back, so check that out before you decide to go elsewhere. They seem to accept most forms of payment, but not checks or American Express. They also have a case where they sell pastries!I was really satisfied with this experience overall and I'm glad we stopped in. I definitely wouldn't mind checking out more of their offerings the next time we are in town."

I decided to hit up the buffet in order to try a few different things while my friend just had a plate with two pupusas. I thought the pupusas were good but some were hotter/fresher than others #buffetproblems. Not a huge selection, but about a half dozen different types of pupusas and some other things available. She said that the food was solid and authentic, but not quite as good as her mom's pupusas. Overall I enjoyed it and would go back, but I didn't like how they pre-included a 20% tip.
