"HOUSTON, TX 77006 / BURGER / 12-04-23 / DINNER+The fire burger was legit.+The spicy ketchup was addicting.-The french fries were okay. Thrasher's and Five Guys are usually my go-to fries."
"Why oh why did I wait so long to visit Moon Tower Inn. It is probably one of the oldest bookmarks I have on Yelp. Well, I finally pulled it from the bottom of that list and paid this place a visit. After a few cocktails nearby, we were looking for something to eat before heading home. Parking is street parking. You order your food and you have your choice of two types of outdoor seating. One under a covered patio type area or a large spacious open air patio. Both have plenty of communal type benches and tables. Customer service was great. The staff know their beers and their meat really well. Ask for suggestions and they will get you something you like. I will say, there is a wait after you order, so pack your patience. The only thing I knew about Moon Tower prior to coming was that they had great tubular meat. What I didn't know was that their selections were wild game that was totally chef'ed up. The offerings vary visit to visit, but they have the things like duck, pheasant, buffalo, pork, etc. So you pick what they call their World Famous Tubesteak and pick from a variety of their toppings. It's not your typical toppings either. It's things like sambal mayo, black pepper catsup or creole mustard for example. I got a rabbit with sambal mayo, fresh onion, feta cheese, fresh jalapeño and cilantro. I'm glad I only got one because this thing was hefty. It came on a pretzel bun that was the perfect vessel for the dog and toppings. The rabbit hot dog was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned to perfection and had that nice snap when I bit into it. It was my creation of flavors and toppings and I gotta say it was perfect. I also foolishly got a Fat Taco w/ beef thinking the hot dog wouldn't fill me up. I forced that upon myself, but it was delicious as well. I washed it all down with a Burlington Raspberry Whale Cake beer, which was a fruity cream ale. Delicious! Burgers are also an option which can be made with chicken or veggies as well. If I lived closer, I would be here atleast once a week. I can't wait to go back!"

"Burgers are huge! There are quite a few combinations you can get here. They definitely have some of their own specialty concoctions too! Service was quick and easy. Walked right up to the counter and ordered! Not a lot of people were in there so there were plenty of booths and tables to sit in. Burgers were well seasoned. Panties are hand formed. Fries were okay. I went with my family and everyone got their own burgers and had rave reviews about them!"
"Good spot for burgers that don't feel like fast food. The burgers are juicy. And I love their challah bread bun. Their home made Jalapeño ketchup is my fav! The few times I have came in, the staff is nice. And anything that you don't like, they have no problems fixing it or getting you something else."
"21s agoFryday just got a whole lot yummier with some of the best Philly cheesesteaks, cheeseburgers and fries from @houseoffrieshouston. Come join us for all the deliciousness that only "the House" can provide! #FrydayFeast #HouseOfFriesHouston"
"Kinda like a divey burger joint but well worth the trip. The bbq brisket burger is loaded with melt in your mouth brisket on a burger. I will definitely order this again. The onion rings are home made with just the right amount of home made breading. If you're in need of a delicious burger and onion rings, this is your go to. Definitely recommend this place. If I'm in the area, I will return"
"I have no idea how authentically Chicagoan this place is because I only spent a day in Chicago 30 years ago and no two people I know from any city, state, or country can ever agree on whether the food claiming to be authentic from their home is actually authentic or not. All I can say is that the Supreme regular crust pizza I had was pretty good and their prices are reasonable. I was here with a group so I will overlook the fact that it took over an hour to get my pizza because I'm guessing they're not used to a large group just showing up but the service was friendly and has a both family friendly and adult friendly vibe. There is a bar and TVs, but then there is a family room too."
"Still a bit warm outside for this icehouse-style joint seating, but loved the setup- it will surely be the lick in the fall!!! Burgers were great, our party had the BBQ Burger, Chili Cheese Burger, and the Kimchi Burger. All were great and cooked beautifully, we're just a sauce kinda group, so just needed a bit more bbq sauce and a bit more 'Korean bbq' sauce on the Kimchi burger... but that's just us (smile). The fries were hot, and just the right amount of crispiness on the outside. I don't know what's in that extra bbq sauce they provided at no charge, but soooo good! I put it on the Kimchi burger, lol. We all had the non-alcoholic shakes. The cups were a bit smaller than we hoped for the price, but by the time you get through eating that nice size burger, you're full anyway. And they even offer a double patty for those wanting even more! Finally, can't say enough about the service. We came on a Saturday afternoon (today) during the Astrid and Texans games, and received plenty of attention. We had 3 or more servers attending to our every need, REPEATEDLY checking on us, asking if we needed anything, and keeping finished food trays and packaging out of our hair! And so friendly! We'll definitely be BACK!!!"
"There's nothing quite as satisfying as a well made burger. Burger-chan had been on my bucket list for quite some time. They're only open for lunch, which can be a bit of an inconvenience for some.Burgers here are build your own via a paper list of ingredients and toppings to create your perfect burger. They also have other options such as hot dogs and awesome unique flavored milk shakes. My sour dough bun held the contents of my burger well. The tots I requested extra crispy were perfect. I can see why every loves the scallion creamy sauce. It's tasty with everything! There's plenty of seating offered indoors and outdoors. Love the fun vibe!Definitely one of my favorite burger spots"
""Hello Detroit, you won my heart" those who know, know what I'm singing. That is what I was singing after visiting this spot! I have heard lot of good reviews and I was finally able to get here. This place right here brings me back home. The chili dog is right on point of the Detroit coney I get when I come home. Let start with the wings - nice and crunchy like I like them, and moist. The lemon pepper seasoning was not over powering. French fries were good but I should of made those a chili fries. Now let's get to the coney dog, they chili sauce on top is very flavorful. I have been to other place that say the coney dogs taste like the ones from Detroit, this place has hit it on the nail!!! The service was great the own came out letting the customers know that there food will be ready soon. Letting us know that food is cook to order so you know you are getting it fresh. He was very nice and so was the staff. They carry the staples from home. Better made chips and Faygo. The next on the list to try is a Boston cooler (ice cream and Vernon's another Detroit staple). Check out the menu, they do offer various hot dogs and wings."
"So I came to try this place out and the burger was really DELICIOUS!! They have waffle fries that come with your burger on the side (I don't think they give you too many fries but I'm looking to portion control so it was okay with me) Everything tastes made to order, fresh and the bun is very soft. This is one of those burgers that you bite and juices are dripping down your hand, lol. I personally think that's a sign of a good burger. They have indoor and outdoor seating and on this day they had a dj on the patio which was cool bc it was a pretty day. The only complaint/s I have would be that we wanted 1 normal meal and 1 kids meal, because neither of us were under 12, they add $2 to the meal and take away the soda. So you basically should buy the adult combo which would then be the same amount of money but you'd still get kids meal. Really doesn't make sense to me. I should still get the soda if I'm paying $2 more or the cost shouldn't be as much as the adult meal. Ended up ordering mozzarella sticks which were $8 and they give you a lot but ours came out looking fresh but the cheese In some of them was still cold - kind of a bummer.Other than that service was quick and I'll prob be back for the burger because it was really good. Pricing is comparable to other burger joints but more fries would be great. They give u the burger meal on this wooden mini cheese board so not much fits on it. Pics attached"

I went here for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. They had just opened so it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the smoke stack burger and the chili queso fries. The food came out pretty quickly. The burger was huge and I only ate half before being the rest to the airport. It had a large burger patty, pulled pork, Mac and cheese and egg and it was very delicious. I also ordered the chili queso fries and they tasted great. Total was near $30.I think it was all outdoor seating from what I could remember with a big covered patio. Free parking in the front but limited. Would definitely come again.

Lately, Moontower has been a reliable go to.The burgers are always fantastic, the Cheech may be THE best burger in Houston. The Blue Cheese Potato Salad is phenomenal, you probably won't miss fries with your burger Their steak night is a great deal for the size And the beer selection, just outstanding. The Petrus Chocolate Cherry Quad I had tonight maybe bow be on my top 10 all time best beers.Usually here on weekends but the Thursday night I most recently visited was nicely quiet.I have taken several people here for their first visit. No one has ever left disappointed.

Think Larry David: Prettyyyy...prettyyyy....pretty good. The menu is the perfect size - just enough variety for whatever you're feeling like. Every side we tried was hot and solid. The burgers were all the picture-perfect version of "decent." The people running the place were pleasant. The setup inside is sparse and honestly depressing, but no one is here looking for it to look cute. Won't drive a distance to get here. Haven't craved it since we came here. But if you're in the area, it's not a bad spot.

My friend and I visited JAX tonight for the first time and were not disappointed! I got the Baja grilled Chicken sandwich, which turned out to be very large and VERY scrumptious! It had bacon, jalapeños, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, mustard and mayo - YUMMM. I was torn between this sandwich and some of the others, so I'm definitely going to be returning. I did four stars because unfortunately the garlic on the garlic fries wouldn't adhere to the fries and so it basically all fell off onto the plate. I ended up scooping it up and it was really tasty, I just wish the execution was such that the garlic would stick to the fries. I tried my friend's Cajun fries, however, and they were excellently seasoned, so will probably get those next time.

When I think of going somewhere in Houston for a solid homemade burger this is where I think of. I can count on House of Fries to deliver to me a solid burger and good fries. Doesn't hurt that they have good sauces as well.I first went here years back trying places around my job and have been going back constantly ever since even now that I'm working from home. A funny story is that after having enjoyed it so much I was able to put a team of coworkers on to them. We needed a place to have food catered for a team meeting and when no one else could think of a place I suggested here. I was nervous if everyone would like it but they actually all loved it. The sad part of that story is that my order was the only one that was kind of messed up but it was still good and I was thankful everyone else enjoyed their food. After having only ever had their burgers I got the Philly cheese chicken sandwich. It was delicious but they got my fry order wrong. I started out with ordering the Mushroom and Swiss burger but now I usually get a Bigger Better Double Cheeseburger (not sure if it's listed on the menu that way but that's what I get lol and I usually have to add a second slice of cheese because they will give me just one). For fries I get the curly fries which are seasoned curly fries and have never let me down. I really like that spicy ketchup, which you can see the red peppers in, and their honey mustard. I always get both sauces anytime I order. You can do a bottle drink instead of a fountain drink when you order a combo and since I tried to avoid soda I usually get one of their apple juices. They've had a few times of messing up my order but for me it's a place that has been good enough times to where a few times messing up doesn't deter me but after a couple back-to-back it almost had lol.I've only eaten inside like once but it was cool. The people are always friendly when I go. Most recently I was even told that it was free cookie day when I didn't realize it and was told I can get a free cookie the next time because they had ran out. She didn't have to do that, especially since they ran out but I appreciate it.Anytime I want just a really good burger without all the extra fuss of gourmet toppings, oh and at a more than reasonable price,I know I'm going!

My dad decided that Chicago style pizza would be a perfect meal for the Astros' play off game. So I went into the Height's foodie group and decided to go to this restaurant after seeing everyone recommend it! I want to give this place a 3.5 but I am going to round it up because the food was good Food: 4My family and I have been trying to find a restaurant with Chicago Deep dish pizza that was more authentic and this place hit the spot! The pizza crust was well seasoned and served as a nice base for the sauce and toppings. However, there wasn't as much sauce as I was expecting from a deep dish. It was extremely filling so I'm thankful I only got a medium for the 3 of use my mom got full with just one slice! They allow you to do half and half on the pizza which I would highly recommend if you can't decide which to pick! Service: 3 While the server was sweet she seemed new. When I called to put in the order she told me it would take 25 mins when it actually took longer. She also didn't tell me about the take out fee. When I was going forth between ordering the supreme and Chicago style it took her a while until she remembered that you could do a half and half order. Ambiance: The restaurant looked like a typical mom and pop. Disclaimer -There is a Take Out Fee (8.00%)

"I got the patty Melt. You really can't go wrong. Great burgers, onion rings and shakes!"
"consistent cheeseburger and fries. the flavor is delicious. short wait times for ordering and for food. attentive staff."
"Usher loves this place, and I guess I love my OMG too, if we're talking about my "Orgasmic Mesmerizing Girlfriend" anyway.I so badly want to give them 3 stars because(1) you can't get a burger for under 15 after tax here, even the small ones(2) they make a lot of their burgers badly and inconsistently because the staff really doesn't seem to give a...(3) the fries are never, ever hot, ever(4) I don't like the burgers as much as at my 10 or so fave HTX burger placesHowever(1) we live in COVID times and businesses are struggling to survive and with inflation I can forgive the prices(2) most employees are really not great in the HTX area so what else is new(3) I found out it's a little local chain with 3 locations, not a national chain, so now I can't be as mean(4) Halal means they're in touch with the fact that Houston is so ethnically diverseSo therefore, it has to be 4."
"Staff extremely friendly and food was delicious. Hamburger was the best I have had in a while and I eat my fair share of burgers. Bun was perfection and toppings fresh. Do yourself a favor and come through, faster and better than my neighborhood whataburger!"
"If you're not eating enough, and you look a little BONYAnd your head keeps playing Billy Idol's MONY MONYDon't go to some other hot dog shop and get a PHONEYGet the best dog in Houston at MIDWEST CONEYWHATSome of the most amazing hot dogs and wings that you'll ever try. Certainly my fave in Texas that I've had. It's probably my favourite hot dog truck in the whole country, and sells some of the best hot dogs outside Chicago that you'll ever eat.The owner is energetic and passionate, and I love the location where the actual truck is, at Chimney Rock Food Truck Park, as well as this sit down location way out in Westchase.Sadly, I don't really come here anymore, because the last couple of times we were treated very badly by employees, not including the owner, although on a separate occasion, I did hear him have an altercation with some rude-ish customers over an online review they'd written, and that kind of rubbed me the wrong way a little bit. It was a little confrontational. But the problem with us is that we are usually in a hurry when we come here, and I know it takes ages for the food sometimes and I'm okay with that, and we don't stop in unless there's no one in line. So one time we came in and we were just basically ignored for ages, girl serving was on her phone, and then had to wait a very long time for phone orders to be taken (which came in after we were standing there) and while people that ordered ahead of us got food that was more complicated than ours, and then she finally took our order about 10 minutes later. That trip was nothing compared to our final visit. The most recent time we went, we came up to order and nobody else was in line, the same girl ignored us again. Then one of the people that were sitting down in a group stood up and came and looked at us, laughed, and proceeded to order in front of us. The girl that was working laughed along with it, saw all this happen, immediately took their order while looking at us to see if we were going to do anything about it, as if they were messing with us. I don't think I described these interactions very well - they were weird - but there were a lot of things going on here that strongly suggested something between "you'll be badly treated here" and "you're not welcome here."Based on these last two trips I would say that we are customers that they don't want to serve. I don't know if that's the case for the establishment in general, or just the person working those 2 days, but I do think that there was some nastiness towards us going on, blatant, obvious, repeated rather than an isolated incident. There's a chance I'll still come back here in future, but we were weekly regulars for a couple of months, so it's a shame for both us and the business, as we haven't been back since.Having said all of that - this is some of the best food in Houston. The best hot dogs, the best wings. I highly recommend you come here and give them a try. But if you experience the same service issues we did, don't be shocked. So if you're living in Houston under Witness PROTECTIONAnd hoping that the right wing doesn't rig the ELECTIONAnd you can't get rid of your all-night ERECTIONCome and try the wings at Midwest Coney CONNECTIONWHAT!"
"This is a north side landmark. If you grew up in north Houston you should know this spot. It's down the street from Sam Houston High School and it's a great place for a homemade burger! Prices are very reasonable as you can get a burger and fries for under $6. These are the crinkle fries and they are cooked to perfection! Crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. All burgers come with the option of single meat or double and you are able to request your burger which ever way you like. I would also Recommend you try one of their shakes while you're there. I love the Chocolate banana shake. Not sure what they use for chocolate but it such a great taste and not too sweet. They use real bananas in the shake which gives you the perfect flavor!"
"Probably the closest thing I have eaten in Texas to a Philly Cheesteak. Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia this was a treat. Wish they had Cooper Sharp as a cheese option; that would make it legit! I appreciated the Amoroso Roll - nice touch. However, my personal preference is a roll with a hard crust on the outside. Overall, well seasoned and great tasting cheesesteak. I will definitely go back. Worth noting..... I read some reviews of people complaining about the price. That is normal for a place that uses sliced ribeye. Worth paying a little more for quality."
"It was 9 PM and that little voice in my head said, he'd dude - you're hungry. My natural reaction was to get on Yelp and query highly-rated, open places. Near the top of the list was OMG Burger. Next thing I know, I'm in the parking lot.I browsed the menu. They had quite the variety of "neat" options to try. From burgers to wings to wraps to tacos to loaded fries. The food wasn't healthy, but it sure looked good.I ended up ordering the Philly cheese steak tacos. The tacos were different than most places, but they were really good. In the end, I could only finish a a single taco. The place itself is rather small and that's part of the charm. There are a few more things on the menu that I want to try so I definitely need to head back. Overall, I was happy with that place."
"Five Guys sounds like a scene that Barbie filmed last week, but it's also a crap Burger chain.Up in Cypress on FM 1960 on the edge of spring near Willowbrook is this Five Guys which is honestly just as predictably bad as all of the other five guys. I don't understand why anybody really loves this place or these burgers and I can only say that people who don't know Burgers like Five Guys. The burgers themselves aren't the worst in the world, but not far from it... the fries are okay, but the prices are shocking and actual real handmade Burgers - which are the same price or cheaper - and a lot of Houston places are about a hundred and twenty-seven thousand times better. Lankford for example. Makes this taste like dog muck.Employees were pretty nice. Get the fried onions/mushrooms on it, makes it taste a little better."
"Fresh hamburger and hot fries with a good speedy service. All my visit Five Guys has not let me down. The service is fast and friendly."
"OK, I am in love with their burgers. Conveniently located off of the Katy Freeway, this store is located next to Goode Co Seafood. The lot is HUGE so no problem parking. Clean, clean store. Order at the counter & they call your name when your order is ready. Their burgers (sans the potato stix) are seasoned to perfection & topped with their Pincho sauce (ask for an extra side of it for your fries) & veggies. The bread is super fresh & goes well with the protein. Their fries are crispy & better than any other place in the area.Staff are accomodating, nice & efficient. Oh lord help me, I'm gonna get fat."
"If you're in the 77379 and are wanting a hot dog at a good price point - stop by Wacked Out Weiner! The place is a family-run shop and they have multi-dog meals. The toppings are unlimited which means if you want brisket, slaw, and other options added to your dog - it's the same price as if you just added mustard. The place is small and relatively quiet. The staff is very friendly and they are more than happy to make suggestions and walk you through the options to dress your dog.I would defiantly return again!"
"A great Sunday afternoon for family, football, and a great Burger. The parking was decent considering it was located near a busy area of Cypress, TX. The inside was clean; however, I noticed that one of the boxes of peanuts was expired according to the date displayed. But I managed to find a fresh batch of peanuts available. The staff was friendly, courteous, and the food was great!!! Just a heads up....the pricing is a little on the expensive side, but the quality of the food was spot on. The Bacon Cheeseburger was my choice and it was cooked perfectly. My goodness 100% beef and the Cajun styled fries were freshly cooked and not over seasoned. If you are traveling on the outskirts of Houston and looking for a great burger this is the spot. Enjoy!!!"
"I have been going here for yrs. definitely good food and consistent. Staff-good also. Bacon burger, fries and coke- $18.30. Seems about $4 too expensive but it will not stop me from eating there. Thanks you..."
"Burgers and fries are delicious. Much better than 5 guys. I might order from here more often if it were cheaper. 9.50 for just a burger is expensive. 3.50 for waffle fries. Also needs some more side items. Chips, baked potato, salad would make it appealing. Also needs dessert menu."
"Let me start this off by saying how much I was surprised that this place is literally like 10 min away from me. I used to frequent another one but it's too far away and so I stopped visiting. I digress, what can I say about this place that I haven't said before?Anyway, let me get to the good stuff. What can I say that hasn't been said before about this place? I always recommend this place if you want something with variety, that's chill and simple. The food here is awesome. I used to always get the Nashville hot sandwich, but this time I decided to switch things up and went for the Nashville Hot sausage. WTH is that I never had friend sausage, and I must say all guilt aside it was really good and tasty, I love the batter that is used here, I'll be back for moreThe service is top-notch, too. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel like you're a part of the fam. Oh, and one more thing - they serve pretty decent portion sizes. Overall, I can't recommend Dog Haus Beer Garten enough. Whether you're in the mood for a classic sandwich or something a little more unique like the Nashville Hot sausage, you won't be disappointed. And with its convenient location, you have no excuse not to go check it out. I'm already counting down the minutes until my next visit."
"Amongst the world of hot dogs, it is hard to find a really good hot dog in the Houston area. Craving a hot dog, I turned to Yelp and searched the entire Houston area. Sloppy Dogg popped up as a place that I had not visited before.I ordered a few hot dogs and some fries. I cared more about sampling than finishing everything. The BBQ dog was my favorite!! It had a Sunday afternoon BBQ taste to it that was very unique. Much of the flavor was derived from the sausage and the bbq sauce. The chili dog was good, but was not even close to being my favorite. The trailer itself is located in an easy to reach parking lot. The staff is friendly, but they definitely have their favorites. The delivered the food and checked on another party that was seated there. For me, they rang my pager to come pick up the food myself even though I was the very next table over - and no one else was in line."
"Good solid food. Friendly people. Been here since 1938. Huge menu for such a small place. Watch your prices though, seems like some are priced well while others seem extraordinarily high."
"Five Guys for my family is all about the fries. That extra free scope of home cut greasy fries with our large order was what elevated this burger shack. The fresh cooked burgers we got were not bad either, especially with all the free add on such as jalapeños, mushrooms, grilled onions A-1 steak sauce, etc. Our only complaint was the diameter of the burger. It really was sized like a junior burger. Service at this location was friendly. We ordered on line and our foods were ready at our chosen pick up time. Social distance and mask protocols were observed. No dine in allowed at this time."
"I always pass them up coming from work on a daily but never stopped . Last night was a late night and pass it up and made a quick uturn . Let's give them a shot !! If your looking for something way different from the usual taco trucks this is the spot to go , good hotdogs and burgers !!! Mexican style hot dogs to the T be prepare to wait about 10-15 minutes a little over if it's a full parking lot I'm sure ."
"One of our favorite stops in the road! Bathrooms are clean and food is yummy!!Burgers are HUGE! I get the junior size and leave completely satisfied. My family loves the bacon cheeseburgers! I have tried the veggie burger and they are delightful if you are cutting back! A large fry feeds 4-6 people!! They're never ending! The Cajun fries are interesting!! They are a spicy sweet flavoring. It does take a few minutes to get your food because it's fresh!! Enjoy!"
"Delicious little food truck. Tacos and sauces were fresh and really tasty! There's also ample parking."
