I loved the customer service and friendly staff. They love what they do and seeing the customers enjoy their meals. I ordered a 5 piece, two sauce, wing meal. I opted in for the sassy and Korean bbq. The cashier was so generous and allowed me to get a sac sac for free just to see how I enjoyed it. My personal favorite sauce of the wings were the Korean bbq as it's spicy and sticky similar to a glaze. And it has a kick of spice/ heat which is needed. You don't get bored with this sauce. The wings were large but super crispy. I'll be back for sure!"

My friend doesn't eat very much meat so Korean BBque was not an option for him. Neither one of us is very versed in Korean cuisine but I'm really digging the different flavors that Korean food offer. It seems like they really are creative in blending different spices & textures especially w/things like the bibimop which I absolutely love it. That being did this is quaint little corner restaurant that serve a variety of different dishes. Like most Korean restaurants they serve an assortment of small Banchan dishes with the meal. We both ordered separately starting with/shared appetizer dishes of tofu seasoned with/onions, red peppers, green onions, sesame seeds, marinated onions in a fish sauce tasty snack. We also ordered pot sticker pan fried nice and crunchy. We then ordered separate dishes, he got some type of noodle dish w/clear noodle that o don't care for (didn't try them). I ordered a plate of beef bulgogi that was super tender & tasty. I would like to go back again w/someone that is versed in the Korean cuisine as neither of us was very knowledgeable about the dishes we ordered. Still the meal was very good w/good service I have eaten at a Korean barbecue before w/the little cooking pans below an overhead exhaust but unfortunately we didn't go that route due to my buddy not really eating meat. They do have this option here w/a variety of options that I would like to explore in the future"

Parking was a little difficult to find, but after driving around the block a couple of times we lucked out and found a parking spot across the street. We ordered our food from a kiosk they have set up. Our food was ready in no-time. We got the BBQ chicken bowl, a deluxe burger, and kimchi fries. Everything was amazing. I would love to get the BBQ chicken bowl again - it was lighter (compared to the pizza and burgers we had been eating all weekend) and packed with flavor. The kimchi fries were delicious! And the burger was juicy and very tasty. We will definitely be back!"

They brought me to Chef Bill's Amitabul: Healing Buddhist Spiritual Vegan Cuisine. This was one of the most calming, tasty dining experiences I have had!We arrived around 6:45pm on a Friday and immediately were seated at a table in the front of the restaurant, right next to what appeared to be a Buddhist shrine. We were given menus and water and plenty of time to look over the menu. The inside of the restaurant is deep with booths and tables. There were a few others seated but the sound levels were great. It took a little bit for our food to arrive but we were able to enjoy a plate of Mandoo Vegan Dumplings to tide us over. These were delicious and we appreciated the spiced miso sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Chop Chae from the steamed stir veggies section of the menu, with a medium level of spice. Chop Chae is steamed sweet potato noodles with three kinds of mushroom, gathered with veggies. This was excellent! The noodles were so good and I loved all the veggies and the medium spice level was great. This was a surprisingly filling meal; I did not want dessert. HahaI am so glad I got to experience Amitabul! The marinated beef is my favorite, but my kid insists on getting a variety. We had 4 in our party and the large combo ($84.99) was all eaten. Every single piece of meat and all of the banchan. They offer a bean paste soup or a kimchi and tofu soup for free with the combo meals. Even though they offer soup for free, I always order the spicy seafood tofu soup for $9.99. -Especially during the colder months. Service is always great here. I should have taken a photo of him but I was digging in and couldn't multitask. Husband got the basil chicken. He is not big on Asian food which is why we don't come here more often. I mean it's only 5-10 minutes from our home. We should come once a week!!! Oh well. I'm gonna start sneaking on my weekday lunches when he's working. We also had to sneak a red bean coconut smoothie. Couldn't let our boy see it cause then we wouldn't get a sip. Hubby likes it. So I said I'd share it although I didn't really want too. Service is great. They'll get super busy but they'll get to you eventually. Anyway, check them out. Food is great and reasonably priced. Less than $40 with tax and tip. I'd rather spend it here than Panera which is where my husband prefers for the fresher / healthier. But honestly, we spent 42 the other day at Panera for 2 cups of soup, 1/2 a salad, 1/2 a sandwich and a cup of macaroni/cheese. Really?! I know. Everything is much more expensive nowadays. Well, we can get healthy options at Jenn's too! They have many options. Veggies and tofu and other yummy options."

I expected thinner cut to be better for chewing purposes. One additional plus is that it also comes with the side dishes. So you didn't have to worry about only eating meat for the price that was paid. One thing I did note is the menu says it comes with ox tail bone broth if you dine in. Jin Ju is a pretty nice looking place, but it's not expensively fancy though. Actually it's quite affordable to be honest. There's also Korean liquors that go good with the food as well. After doing stuff around the area, we came here. It's strange that a Swedish neighborhood has so many Asian restaurants. This is just one of many of these. Has to be the most affordable. We got some of the soju. It's $3 for a sampler cup. This is a Korean liquor made from sweet potatoes. This is pretty much like vodka except sweeter. As for the food, we got the Kimchi Mandoo. It's about $18, which was kind of a lot for the portion. These were pretty much dumplings with kimchi it seemed. Has quite a bit to choose from. It's pretty expensive for the entrees, but get some of the smaller things. There's some things that are meaty like bulgogi, and there's dumplings for vegetarians."

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant based on positive reviews of high quality meat and we are so glad to have found this gem! The pahjuhn (seafood pancake) was light, airy and delicious. Many restaurants make them dense and very oily, so this was a great start to our meal. We went with their most popular Combo B, which serves 2 people with a variety of meats including kalbi, bulgogi, samgyupsal, and brisket (most popular cuts in Korean cuisine). I can confidently say that the food here was of excellent quality, as it tastes very similar to my mother's homemade cooking. Great assortment of fresh bonchon, white rice, and a palette cleansing side salad will come with the meal. The owner was very polite and friendly and had a great conversation with him. I must say, the aromas had my belly dancing. We sat and looked over the menu. Decided on wings and mixed up the sauces. Not really in the mood for spicy, so we opted for 1/2 Korean BBQ and 1/2 soy garlic. Coleslaw was our side choice. It was about ten minutes before hot food came out. For many they consider this the best place for Korean barbecue. This is a great long time local business that's been family owned for years. After coming from a few bars, we needed something to eat. In comes this place, or actually we came to this place. This is one of the many ethnic restaurants in Albany Park, and one of the best in the city to get Korean barbecue for sure. Not just barbecue. Of course vegetarians can get something. A few choices. We came later one evening after hanging around at some bars around here. Even though it's mostly meaty stuff, we found a few vegetarian items. We got the Yasai Gyoza, which were pretty cool looking. It's $7 for quite a bit. These are green colored things that look like potstickers. For sure would come here again. Sherwin C. "Fun place to enjoy karaoke and Korean food at a surprisingly affordable price. For people who are going here for the first time there's some things that would be good to know:1. Much of the song list is in a foreign language (Korean, Chinese, etc.) Most of the selection in English is pop music so most of the music you'll find is ones that were popular in the radio in the last half century -- limited if you're looking for show tunes, oldies, pop opera, etc.2. The food may seem a little pricey at first, but if you look at my pictures you'll see that these are more party sized portions. Each dish can easily feed more than one person (in particular, the fried chicken).3. Service is quick and friendly and you do not need to know Korean. The staff is very helpful with everything from getting extra utensils to taking a group picture. With that said, it's quite an enjoyable experience and I've paid more at other spots for less food and worse karaoke experience. I didn't find any of the spicy items here to be too hot, appropriate I think for those who have a lower spice tolerance. I particularly enjoyed items that were fried and found them to be quite crispy. Audio quality was pretty good as well. The design of the room helped to isolate the noise between rooms and prevent the sound from bouncing around the walls too much. The microphones were also above average in picking up the sound of the vocals.Overall, fun karaoke experience and delicious food here make it a good choice to celebrate or have a fun evening out."

This place was pretty full when we arrived and it seemed like they had stop taking people in. So make a reservation if at all possible, because you might not have any luck if you try to come in as a walk in. We were originally planning on ordering a la carte, but somehow convinced ourselves to do the All You Can Eat. There's a lot of rules and regulations on this, but don't order like an idiot and you'll be fine. The max is two items per person at a time, and that's honestly enough for one sitting. Where you have to be careful is ordering a bunch of appetizers. Don't be a dumbass like myself. The thing is they offer all the popular Asian appetizers. Crab rangoon, fried dumplings, lumpia and a bunch of other popular ones. Yea I did order the ones mentioned. I couldn't help myself. They were all good except for the lumpia. Not the greatest and definitely wouldn't order it again. For the meats, we ordered beef only. We got Ribeye, chadolbaegi, spicy beef bulgogi, and Kalbi. They were all good except for maybe the chadobaegi. It's a brisket cut; but just cut way to think and lacked any flavor. I also ordered their Thai fried rice and it comes in a big bowl. Both have yellow & red signage which further added to the confusion in our befuddled mind. We went here after a Memorial Day Service @ Montrose Cemetery for the Japanese veterans (my Ma & Pa are also resting in this section). I unfortunately missed most of the ceremony. While we sat there for over 15 minutes before I finally asked if we could order (slow service). While we sat there waiting it seemed like they were very short staffed but had a decent amount of people dining there as well as a pretty brisk turn around on carry out orders. It's definitely on the pricy end and it does seem like they've recently raised their prices, but who hasn't? Inflation is costing us all a lot to dine out now. I see this place as the kind I would come to maybe on a bi-monthly basis because for two people, with three orders of meat (tongue, ribs, and brisket) and two Soju bottles, it came out to $150 not including the tip. Totally worth it though if you're ready to spend that kind of money. The tongue here is DELICIOUS. Great quality, and it's hard to even find tongue at a KBBQ spot in the greater Chicago metropolitan area, so kudos to this restaurant for offering it. Also, you can NEVER go wrong with a charcoal fire to cook your KBBQ. It's the best way too cook this tasty meat. Just keep in mind that you will have to cook it quick and eat it kind of quick because you don't want the grill just chillin' with fire and getting burned quicker. The server who assisted us for most of our experience was extremely friendly, and we actually forgot a credit card in the bill, and she ran outside and knocked on our car door window across the street to return it to us. She would laugh a little with us and by all means this experience was very different than what a lot of others have spoken about in terms of service at this place. While their meat options are bit limited, I think for $28 AYCE, it was a solid choice. We really liked the pork belly and short ribs from here. The brisket was okay, and the bulgolgi was definitely better. As far as the banchan (sides), they had some decent slides that tasted fresh and really good however there were a few banchan sides missing that we were hoping for like cucumber, season spinach, tteok-bokki, and fish cakes... etc. I'd still return, but I think the brisket and bulgolgi could definitely be a little better quality and taste better."

My daughter and I were in town and needed to visit in the Northern suburbs, so afterwards decided to have lunch at a place that had meaning for us. Unfortunately, it was closed on Mondays so chose another Korean restaurant. Hwang Dae Gham ended up a great choice. We came soon after it opened, and it was already busy. It is a family owned business, and they obviously take great pride in their food and service. We had a chance to eat a lot of their non-BBQ offerings, and every one of them was excellent.Started with two appetizer portions: mul-mandu (small, bite-size steamed dumplings...supposed to be only pork but I swear I tasted seafood/fish in it...very good...reminded me of eating pelmini in it's size and density); the other was a small portion of japchae which we devoured...usually not a fan of this style of Korean mung-bean noodles, but really enjoyed it.We got two entrees (didn't share for once, so each got what we wanted). I got the squid bibim-bap (mixed rice in a stone bowl)...it's important to look at the pictures, cause it clearly explains the difference between the normal bibim-bap. They basically put a large portion of the squid-bokum, on top of rice...missing the normal cold greens. It was different, and I loved it. It was served with the requisite gochujang sauce, but you don't need it. It's already pre-seasoned. My daughter got the Gamja-Tang (spicy soup with potato and pork neck), and she really enjoyed it....like most Korean hot soups, great for a chilly February Chicago day. All of it comes with side dishes and purple rice. We especially liked the sweet glazed potatoes, picked cucumbers, and sliced mung bean pancake.Service was very warm and consistent throughout. It was just a beautiful opportunity to have a great meal and spend a lot of time with my adult daughter, reminiscing about the past and planning for the future. The entire Hwang Dae Gham environment was very conducive to that.I really wish I had two stomachs so I could sample the other dishes on the menu...all of it looked so good. I placed my order that way and when I was preparing to pay I found that they don't have a way for you to use digital wallets at that station; a credit card is required. The employee made some comment that suggested perhaps they were going to fix that so it can at some point take digital wallets but I don't know if he was just saying that or not. Anyway, that was kind of annoying, just make sure to bring your card if you decide to use that or you can order at the counter and you can use a digiwallet. The chicken was okay. Typically I'm more familiar with the AYCE places that offer a cheaper Menu A with less items. This one is $33 for AYCE KBBQ, which is a little bit on the higher end if you ask me, but there's not a lot of decent KBBQ options in the Chicagoland in general, so I think they get away with higher menu prices. They told me it would take average of 20 minutes, which I opt to wait rather than go grocery shopping and coming back (which is a what majority of people do). It is an intensive job to do every batch of chicken, they would coat the chicken pieces, fry and to my surprise, paint brush garlic seasoning to each and every piece. They would put all the chicken pieces in a nice decorative box with two small 1oz cups of vinegar radish cubes. I got an average of 12 small drumettes, wings and thighs. I would recommend Toreore to anyone who loves Korean Fried Chicken."

Gerry T. "I really have to eat here again, like really soon. First, they were ready to go at it once we walked in, a friendly greeting, ice water and when we mentioned that we brought beer - he brought out 3 chilled glasses. I was really enjoying the service and attention to detail. We tried to order everything to get a good idea of their cooking so we got not one, but two seafood pancakes, that's sooooo delicious, crispy and soft on the inside, with that almost teriyaki like dipping sauce. By the way, you get radish Kim chi and potato in sweet soy sauce as ban Chan (small appetizers). Of course, you have to try their mandoo (pot stickas) and that was generous. Also, the chap chae with the vermicelli rice noodles was very delicate and wonderfully light with beef and scallions. We tried their spicy seafood soup and if you add a little white rice, that'll make it a little bit more palatable and less hot. I had the bi Bim bop (rice with veggies, bulgogi beef and egg bowl) and that was excellent!! It also came with three sauce types (nice and cold and straight outta the fridge). I don't mix up the ingredients by the way. Our server asked if I wanted some of those sauces, so I got all three to go along with our left overs."

Jacob J. "Old school Korean restaurant. An older couple runs it and it carries that laid back, super casual feel. If you've got patience, it'll be tested. But at least food comes out timely if the restaurant isn't busy. Flavoring is good. You should enjoy your meal. Keep expectations minimal and you'll be happy. Nowadays one can obtain really good Korean food in many areas of Chicagoland. Topping that, they are operating near to veteran Korean & Korean Chinese restaurants. Still, they're doing their own thing and for that the costs aren't as high as their competitors."

Micah K. "I recently discovered this place by accident. I'm very happy that I stumbled across it. The inside has plenty of seating and is very clean. It was a bit smoky inside but not enough to drive me away. The service was quick, friendly, and helpful. These K-bop bowls might be my new OBSESSION. The balance of flavors, ingredients, and seasoning is PERFECT. I ended up going back 3 times within a week and trying different combinations. There is not a single bad option in my opinion but the bulgogi was my favorite. Overall this is a hidden gem of Chicagoland food and I highly recommend you making your way here ASAP."
