"Always a good time when I come here. This time I came for a double date with my family and my bf (cute, I know!) for Valentine's Day. This is my third time coming here with my bf so we were accustomed to calling in our reservation which we made a couple of weeks in advance. As soon as we came in, you are instantaneously hit with the yummy aroma of cooked meats and veggies. It's honest to God, a scent that is drool worthy. We ordered up the Chungkiwa special which is a lovely mixture of meats and seafoods. We got our ban chan and our kimchi fried rice.As usual, the customer service was prime as the sweet, young lady was our sever. She was so quick, attentive and kind. We never felt like we were a burden to her as this restaurant was pretty busy tonight. All in all, this place is amazing. The main reason my bf and I treated my family here was for them to get a slice of Korean bbq heaven and what better time then for Valentine's Day?!? They thoroughly enjoyed the food and the customer service. The food was plentiful and tasty. You can tell that the quality of meat is good and not only that, we absolutely love the cast iron grill everything is cooked on. It helps to ensure that everything is cool evenly and it cooks the meat fast which is much appreciated. This place has an old school charm to it which I really enjoy. The meal ended with a Haagen Dazs bar which was super yummy! Overall, I've said it before and I'll say it again; this place is awesome! When in doubt, try this place out and I can promise you won't regret it"
"Another KBBQ spot in Chicago marked off my list, and I am greatly surprised by the fantastic service, warm & welcoming staff, and the quality of the meat. It's definitely on the pricy end and it does seem like they've recently raised their prices, but who hasn't? Inflation is costing us all a lot to dine out now. I see this place as the kind I would come to maybe on a bi-monthly basis because for two people, with three orders of meat (tongue, ribs, and brisket) and two Soju bottles, it came out to $150 not including the tip. Totally worth it though if you're ready to spend that kind of money. The tongue here is DELICIOUS. Great quality, and it's hard to even find tongue at a KBBQ spot in the greater Chicago metropolitan area, so kudos to this restaurant for offering it. Also, you can NEVER go wrong with a charcoal fire to cook your KBBQ. It's the best way too cook this tasty meat. Just keep in mind that you will have to cook it quick and eat it kind of quick because you don't want the grill just chillin' with fire and getting burned quicker. The server who assisted us for most of our experience was extremely friendly, and we actually forgot a credit card in the bill, and she ran outside and knocked on our car door window across the street to return it to us. So sweet! If you're looking for great service and excellent meat quality, make your way to Woo Chon BBQ in Budlong Woods!Just expect to pay a pretty penny."

"Excellent Korean noodle place, lots of dishes you just don't see outside of South Korea or South Korean movies. Since I watch a lot of South Korean movies I knew what all these dishes looked like, but not what they all tasted like. Authentic Korean service, so no you're not going to get that obsequious insincere emotive and dramatic American restaurant service, but you don't really want that. It doesn't go with this kind of food. Be really careful about splashing sauce or soup, some of this will really stain. By the way, it's good manners to make slurping noises with your noodle soups, that means you're enjoying it. You eat Korean noodles quietly if they're mediocre. Also be careful, Koreans, like Japanese, like their hot soups hot enough to burn. It's another reason to slurp, if you suck in air with the boiling hot noodles you can avoid burning the roof of your mouth or tongue. It's a technique that takes practice. The portion sizes are generous so you can get a lot of practice."
"This Korean restaurant is a hidden gem. We ordered soft tofu soup, streaming potstickers, kalbi, bulgogi beef, and spicy marinated blue crabs. These dishes are great. Taste like Korean home cooking food. This is the first time I tried the spicy marinated blue crabs. The husband and wife that serve us were nice. Service is friendly There is plenty of parking space in the front of the restaurant."
"Went in for a breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint. The prices are great, and the service is quick. Plus it seemed like a family owned business and I am down for keeping as many of those around. The sandwich was good, and it seems like it would be perfect for breakfast after imbibing too much the night before. I also had the hash browns, and those were a bit greasy but like I said, the best hair of the dog you can of. I have to say that I am very impressed with the packaging of the food. We ordered to go and everything was individually wrapped. My OCD heart was very happy."
"We got the beef soondubu with kalguksu. 2 extra rice bowl. Yes we eat noodle and rice- it was very filling. The flavors are pretty good and the banchan is also pretty good. 1 order with 2 rice bowls was definitely enough for a small-to-average eater. Unless your goal is to have leftovers at home. Each item is pretty expensive. They are on average 17-26 bucks. They give a lot, but now if we have limited budget we can't get more variety! I mean a plate of galbi is $31, yikes. The menu is in english but korean language. There are pictures. But I feel like if you're not familiar with korean food, you'd struggle a little choosing what to get."
"Korean spoon has been around since before the pandemic, and did super well despite the pandemic. They offer so much to-go banchan serving local Korean community, high quality and quantity homemade banchan. You can't find that just anywhere except a few places in Niles/Glenview.Their parking lot was a struggle as it literally is off the road parking, but there are generally enough spaces for 8+ cars. Spicy pork-- this by far is my favorite. First bite really reminded me of the foods I had in Korea. Not overly sweet like many other places, but the marinate flavor really seeped in. It's one of the few spicy porks around the area that isn't too spicy! And they give a decent amount of meat as well as nicely roasted vegetables coated in the sweet spicy gochujang sauce. Kimbap-- I was just gonna order one but I think they package them in two rolls at a time so one is $4.50 and two is $9. I just went with two. They were very thick and I love that they added in spam and burdock roots. The sesame flavor does not come through as much as ASSI plaza food court's but it feels more filling. Flavor is otherwise really balanced and great!Bibimbap-- i love that they provide decent quantity of toppings, really very generic, what you'd expect toppings but all are in really good quality and quantity. Rice is just white rice, as opposed to other nearby places that serves purple rice. But overall, exactly what you'd expect in good quantity and quality.Kal gook soo-- I picked this in hope the kids would eat. This has seafood flavor with peeled shrimp, zucchini, and peeled potato. Thick udon like noodles. I mean, the flavor and smell are great, but my younger kids didn't like it probably because the broth was a bit too thick because of the starch. And the noodle was thicker than they were used to. Oh well, more for our oldest one.Japchae-- also really good quality. The clear noodles are soft but still bouncy and chewy. Also not super sweet, which is ideal in my opinion. Lots of depth of flavor, and vegetables are also had nice sesame roasted flavors. Very quantity too. Owner told me I could microwave it to heat it up, and that they make it fresh everyday.Banchan-- they give four very basic banchan, all are good and what you'd expect. we liked that the fish cake wasn't too spicy with the jalapeño and oil, so that my oldest could eat no problem. Overall, I think the quantity and quantity of this place is superb. I especially like that they don't go overboard on the sweet profile of Korean foods so that other flavors come through. I can't wait to try some of their own banchan stuff. Definitely will come back!"
"Came here on a Tuesday night at 10pm and ordered the japchae, Korean fried chicken wings, and seafood pancake. They were all SO good. I highly recommend and the service was really awesome! It's a fun vibe inside and they played K-pop music videos when we were there. Just an FYI it's a little difficult to find the place because there's no sign outside. Just a paper on a door that looks like you're walking into an apartment lobby. Overall would recommend and come back!!"
"Came to one of the many sushi places in Arlington Heights. It didn't look all that good from the outside, just in a crummy strip plaza. Nikko makes it count on the inside though. Mainly because of the food. The prices are about average for good quality sushi, so not enough to be bank breaking to get some great rolls. At lunch it was pretty quiet inside. It may have to do with the location. This isn't the easiest to see or get to. At lunch they have a bit better prices. It's about $4.50 for most rolls. Got ourselves a few of the vegetarian ones. The Avocado was filled with creamy and fresh avocado, and the Sweet Potato was filled with big soft chunks of the tubers. Good place to get great quality of sushi and still not pay a crazy amount. It also has Asian cocktails but that's only for dinner though. There's a few rolls that are okay for vegans and vegetarians."
"Dined in on a Saturday night. Firstly, the food and ambience were decent and met my expectations - at least in terms of quality, temperature, freshness and taste. No wait (as we were the only customers). However, value and service were both below average. Specifically, counter guy missed one of the items we ordered and did not add it to our order because they misunderstood us asking about the ingredients of one of the entrees as canceling it. We didn't realize it until 10 minutes after our food was brought to the table. I went back and asked about the fried rice dish and they said "Oh, I thought you cancelled it." SMH. Sigh. OK. Never mind.Something annoying you should be aware of: they charge you a 3% "convenience fee" if you pay by credit card. This just screams greedy/shady IMO. The bill was just over $48 for two orders of wings, 1 order of fries and two canned beverages from the refrigerator. Guy tried to charge us for a bottle of Aquafina because my son asked for water. They have a big container of in the form of a self-service water cooler - yet he assumed Aquafina bottled water. No. So you get a teeny little plastic cup (think Dixie Cup) to use with the self serve jug. SMH. But the "convenience" fee? If anything it's more convenient for the restaurant to not have handle cash - yet they punish the customer for paying by credit card. Sorry, but that's wrong. I've not seen this at any other restaurants. IMO, it's nothing more than opportunistic scam. Unfortunately that was the most memorable thing about the visit. I don't envision going back."
"Small Korean restaurant whose seol (sole, haha) focus is serving seolleongtang - Ox bone soup, and doesn't pretend to be anything more. Don't expect much else other than getting soup here - service is quick, the ajumma running the entire show is no-nonsense. Cash only. Pick your own seat and order off the menu on the wall, which is a bit too small to see when you're across the room.As stated before, the entire menu is different iterations of seolleongtang - which here means you get to pick the meat that goes into the broth. My favorite was cow tongue, although brisket or flank are safe bets if you're squeamish. Soup comes out hot, which really hits the spot on cold winter days. Salt served on the side, make sure to season to your liking (the soup itself is served unseasoned), and add green onions as you'd like. Banchan are cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi. A side of rice comes with your soup, make sure to dunk or empty the rice into the soup. It's a simple but refreshing meal. Good price. As a side note, there's also a Han Bat in Los Angeles that's been around for many years; not sure if there's any relation between the two, but it also serves seolleongtang."

A la cart korean bbq place. (No AYCE option). The decor is very interesting and entertaining. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. The banchan was good. We each got a carb entree (cold buckwheat noodles, seafood noodles, etc). And then split a combo bbq tray. The meat platter had a good amount for 4 people. The meat was well marinated and cooked well. Even the chicken was dark meat and super tender and juicy after bbq.Highly recommend this place! Would love to come back and try more off their menu.

We are always on the search for good Korean barbeque when we are in Chicago and randomly found Woo Chon. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but if you ask me, that's how you know it's going to be good! And it did not disappoint! We ordered two different types of beef. Both were delicious! I really liked the marinated beef. Side dishes were great as well and we enjoyed a couple Korean beers. Our server was very friendly and helpful. In a slower neighborhood so parking wasn't an issue. There is a parking lot in the back. Highly suggest for no-fuss Korean barbeque!

OMG. I have finally found a restaurant that meets my expectations as a Korean American who grew up with homemade Korean food 3x a day. I swear my mom makes the BEST fried rice and this place pretty much makes fried rice that is on the same level as my mom's. Dishes are slightly on the more expensive side but portion sizes are huge. Our family's favorite dishes are the chicken fried rice, rice cake soup, jap chae and soojaebi. When I crave my mom's food, this is the place I go. It is tucked away in a shopping plaza, and next to a restaurant that has a very similar name. Ample parking, good service, and quick. Can't wait to go back.

We were a few out-of-towners who were craving Korean food. Found this on Google and tried it out. Service was friendly by the male owner who welcomed us and also served us. There was a homey feel to the place probably because most of the customers at the time seemed to have a personal relationship with the male owner.Food-wise, nothing to complain about. Appreciated the complementary seafood pancake which came out crispy and hot! Standard variety of side dishes. Prices were pretty reasonable as well.Pleasant experience.

This is such a fantastic hidden gem with amazing, affordable food. The breakfast sandwiches are my favorite. I definitely recommend getting it on a croissant with giardiniera with an extra kick. I've also tried some of the Asian food and it's phenomenal as well. The owners are the sweetest people and the restaurant has a nice and cozy vibe.

Had lunch here with some friends last week! Lots of space, clean, and the staff is nice efficient. I ordered the bento box with bulgogi. It's A LOT of food! It's pricey but I think it worth it! I loved the banchan. Lots of options. You order on the iPad and don't forget to check in on Yelp for a free soda!I can't wait to go back!

My dear friend Judy invited me here for a late lunch... I had mentioned to her time and time again how much I really wanted to try this place out and... FINALLY. This joint fully met all my expectations... FULLY.Such a cute little spot with amazing food. The menu isn't crazy extensive but everything I had was super yummy. And the service just as good. He's a kind Korean man... obvious he has a sweet spirit. We ordered the jjolmyun, dukbokkee, soondae and kimbob. So, so, so yummy.I believe their main source of income is from their catering though cuz the cafe is only open 11:00-3:00 Tuesday through Saturday. But their catering must be pretty fabulous cuz apparently they deliver to a church in Munster IN. I mean, whaaat?! So. Come here. Eat something. And order something to go for a party. Or just come here and eat something. =]Just FYI... they do have a lot but it's kinda tiny.

"Just an ok experience. I thought we were going to a restaurant until I pulled up into the parking lot. Food station is located in he H-Mart shopping center. Food was hot but bland. And because it is in the shopping center, there are other food stations there, so you have to basically look for a place to eat. There are tables there, but they serve all of the food stations. Price-wise, I thought it was expensive for what we got.Definitely would not go out of my way to eat here."
"Chicago Kalbi is a long time Albany Park favorite for unique Asian cuisine. It has more than it looks. Sure the place is small, but they can somehow get all this food out. For many they consider this the best place for Korean barbecue. This is a great long time local business that's been family owned for years. After coming from a few bars, we needed something to eat. In comes this place, or actually we came to this place. This is one of the many ethnic restaurants in Albany Park, and one of the best in the city to get Korean barbecue for sure. Not just barbecue. Of course vegetarians can get something. A few choices. We came later one evening after hanging around at some bars around here. Even though it's mostly meaty stuff, we found a few vegetarian items. We got the Yasai Gyoza, which were pretty cool looking. It's $7 for quite a bit. These are green colored things that look like potstickers. For sure would come here again. It's one of the favorites for Korean in the city, according to many lists and polls. Take a trip up here and try some things."
"My recent dining experience at Jiang Niu BBQ House was truly exceptional. The restaurant's ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and contemporary, with rustic decor and dimmed lighting creating an inviting, intimate setting perfect for any occasion. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its unwavering commitment to delivering an outstanding dining experience. The staff's dedication to accommodating dietary preferences and their friendly, attentive service were genuinely impressive. Jiang Niu BBQ House's real masterpiece lies in its authentic Korean barbecue offerings. Here, you can embark on a unique culinary adventure with an unlimited selection of meats that you grill right at your own table. The meats are expertly prepared, with a smoky aroma and unmatched tenderness. The interactive dining experience takes you beyond the ordinary, allowing you to enjoy a diverse array of flavors. A delightful assortment of appetizers sets the stage, but the real star is the barbecue selection, which features a variety of meats cooked to absolute perfection. The restaurant's "unlimited" concept allows you to keep the succulent offerings coming by ordering a barbecue platter. The ability to sample a range of flavors, each more tantalizing than the last, is a true highlight. Complementing the meats are an array of delectable sauces that enable you to customize your culinary journey, creating a memorable and personalized dining experience. Jiang Niu BBQ House offers an unforgettable culinary adventure that will linger in your memory long after your visit. From the warm ambiance to the attentive service and the unparalleled Korean barbecue experience with its unlimited selection of meats, this restaurant has undoubtedly earned its place as a top dining destination. If you're in search of an extraordinary dining experience in a welcoming setting, I wholeheartedly recommend Jiang Niu BBQ House. You're in for a delightful culinary journey you won't soon forget!"
"Staying with my friends, who happen to be vegan, I asked them to take me to their favorite restaurants around Chicago. They brought me to Chef Bill's Amitabul: Healing Buddhist Spiritual Vegan Cuisine. This was one of the most calming, tasty dining experiences I have had!We arrived around 6:45pm on a Friday and immediately were seated at a table in the front of the restaurant, right next to what appeared to be a Buddhist shrine. We were given menus and water and plenty of time to look over the menu. The inside of the restaurant is deep with booths and tables. There were a few others seated but the sound levels were great. It took a little bit for our food to arrive but we were able to enjoy a plate of Mandoo Vegan Dumplings to tide us over. These were delicious and we appreciated the spiced miso sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Chop Chae from the steamed stir veggies section of the menu, with a medium level of spice. Chop Chae is steamed sweet potato noodles with three kinds of mushroom, gathered with veggies. This was excellent! The noodles were so good and I loved all the veggies and the medium spice level was great. This was a surprisingly filling meal; I did not want dessert. HahaI am so glad I got to experience Amitabul! Such a calming environment with friendly staff. I do not follow a vegan diet, but I would have zero hesitation coming back for a meal here!"
"TTOWA is our go to sit down and take out place for Korean food! The dak buns are delicious. They are char-grilled chicken nestled in a fluffy, pillowy soft bun (bread) and topped with their incredible aioli sauce. They are listed as "Sharables" on the menu but I don't like to share! They come 4 to an order, but we always add 4 more for my husband. The japchae is cooked perfect with the noodles being nice and chewy, but tender. We add beef to it and it's a very generous portion of the beef. Hubs loves their kalbi. It's tender and not super fatty, making all of it so good he eats every bite to the bone! I'm a fan of the beef bibimbap in a stone bowl. The rice at the bottom gets really crispy and when mixed together with all the ingredients and the nicely yolky over-easy egg, it's hot and delicious! The dishes are made with true Korean mom love! The owner's mom Mrs. Park, is often found coming out from the kitchen to check on the food, to greet customers, and to check to see if we need refills on the bonchons (sides). Terry, the owner, is very personable and proud of his restaurant."
"Passed by here the other day and I was intrigued so stopped in. When I entered I saw they have a station where you can place your order on your own and then pick it up. I placed my order that way and when I was preparing to pay I found that they don't have a way for you to use digital wallets at that station; a credit card is required. The employee made some comment that suggested perhaps they were going to fix that so it can at some point take digital wallets but I don't know if he was just saying that or not. Anyway, that was kind of annoying, just make sure to bring your card if you decide to use that or you can order at the counter and you can use a digiwallet. The chicken was okay. I liked the soy ginger flavor though it wasn't very strong. I also got the kalbi one we could share and it was really good. I don't think I've ever had short rib before, but this is what I'd order if I visit again. It made me think, is this what Korean BBQ tastes like all the time (as opposed to this just being their seasoning/saucing)? If so I've been missing out on it for sure. The potstickers were ok. I think they would have been good if they were steamed but they are fried here and that's not my preference. I got one of their dessert things but it wasn't my bag. It tasted to me like circus peanuts, which is a candy I hate with a fiery passion. There was no one here when I stopped in but they have plenty of seating including a counter at the front of the restaurant. Parking doesn't exist anywhere but on the street here, which can be tricky."
"06/15/24 - Today we went back to take advantage of our Groupon purchase. We bought $30 worth of food for $15. This time we both ordered poke bowls. I ordered the salmon poke bowl & my wife ordered the tuna poke bowls. They were both deliciousBoth were served over a bed of rice w/masago (fish roe), shredded crab meat, lettuce, roasted garlic, diced cucumbers, diced green peppers & cilantro. Of course my wife's had tuna & mine had salmon. We mixed it up so all the ingredients could be blended & eaten (like halo halo). I added hot sauce to mine. Awesome meal very filling and nutritious. I love this place they have a huge variety of Korean food options & is absolutely worth checking out. I just wish I lived closer to Arlington Heights, but I will definitely be back again"
"I've been feeling under the weather so I was craving some seolleongtang (ox bone soup with noodles and meat) and this was the PERFECT place to go. I'm feeling refreshed and slightly better! Bring a korean speaking friend- this place is very authentic. Their signs and menus on the wall are all in korean. The barley tea that they provide is very good, and they will bring you a pitcher for refills. They also give kimchi and pickled garlic along with pickled daikon for appetizers. The seollongtang is delicious. You can add some salt to enhance the flavor, and they have some hot pepper paste as well. You can also add in green onions. It comes with noodles and meat that is very tender. For two bowls of soup, we paid $27 after tip and tax. Overall, money well spent! Would highly recommend this restaurant."
"As someone who loves wings, BB.Q Chicken has quickly risen to the top of my Chicago foodie list. A group of friends and I had the pleasure of ordering takeout from and we were amazed. There is an extensive selection of flavors to choose from. I highly recommend the Honey Garlic, Soy Garlic, and Cheesling options. All three are excellent! The Cheesling flavor, in particular, was a pleasant surprise. It's not often you see this choice on a menu. For anyone looking to try something unique and flavorful, I would encourage it. The crispy fried chicken is made to perfection. It's cooked just right, with an optimal level of crispiness on the outside and tenderness on the inside. This sets it apart from other Korean chicken places. BB.Q Chicken also offers a wonderful variety of side dishes. Our personal favorite is the Ddeok-Bokki, a classic Korean street dish with rice and fish cakes. I dipped my chicken in the sweet and spicy chili blend for an extra zing. I would give it a 10/10 recommendation. Give it a try. Overall, the portions were generous, ensuring a pleasurable experience. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality and taste of the meal. With so many Korean wing spots in Chicago, I would highly consider BB.Q Chicken as your next wing stop."
"Ok - first time here and did a take out order. I think it was decent but by no means the best Korean I've ever had. Given that there's not many Korean options in this immediate area, this will do for now, but I wouldn't come out of my way for this place. I was expecting a little more more flavor out of the bulgogi plate with rice. Overall a solid 7/10 I'd say."
"Our table wasn't ready so we went to get a drink in back lounge. Cute lounge. You can choose from a tasting menu or a la carte menu. We did a la carte. Pork belly, wagyu and short ribs. Korean pancakes, Kimchi stew and the grill accompaniments. Super yummy and we were so full. Meats are grilled by the wait staff. Service was great and attentive."
"Loved their bowls during their pop ups in PT! Friendly service. Overall excellent!! Got a chance to try a bit of everything and they were amazing Korean food!"
"Small but mighty, Osaku Asian Kitchen serves up delicious Asian food in a small restaurant that does mostly carryout (but has 2 tables for dine-in, no washroom available though). With low prices and a varied menu, I was inclined to check this place out and was glad I did.I did opt to dine in on my visit here and had quick and friendly service, as they spent time between fulfilling pickup orders checking in for water refills or additional items needed. In terms of decor, there's not much here as the dine in area is the same as what you'd generally get from a waiting area in similar restaurant. I tried the bibimbap here and was quite happy with the portion size and meat provided. It was a good mix of spicy and sweet with rice that was a bit wetter and a good amount of egg provided (to make it extra rich). The vegetables tasted fresh and the overall flavor was good. I also tried some simple maki options, the california roll, alaska roll, and shrimp tempura roll. The vegetables and fish tasted fresh, with fairly generous sized portions of the seafood. The rolls could have had a bit more textural contrast, particularly between the shrimp tempura and vegetables, but i did like the colorful and neat presentation of the food.Overall, a solid choice for Asian food in the area with fairly good prices, good portion sizes, and yummy flavors."
"Came on a Sunday night with a couple friends, my partner and toddler - as reviews will attest, it's small inside, but not cramped. However, they also don't have any high chairs so we had to just hold our little guy. They had K-pop playing on the TVs and projectors so that helped to distract him, and I myself was distracted when TWICE came on screen. We ordered the rice balls, rice cakes, their famous fire cheese chicken, sweet pork ribs, seafood pancake and strawberry soju. Well, we didn't actually order the balls, but I think we confused our server and ended up with them anyway. That worked out ok though since what we ordered was the perfect amount for us five.Rice balls - well, we didn't actually get balls, we got a bowl of seasoned rice with seaweed and a couple plastic gloves. These were surprisingly flavorfulRice cakes - I was expecting a plate full of ttoekboki (little rice cylinders in a spicy sauce), but what you actually get are a few large pieces of ttoekboki, a couple mandu, an egg, potato noodles, and those rectangular flat fish cakes. Really great for sharing and weren't too spicy for our baby to have someSeafood pancake - Pretty standard, good quality and also good for baby to munch onFire cheese chicken - I get why this is their signature dish. The fresh grilled flavor really comes through and it had the most spicy kick out of any of our food. The cheese doesn't do much for me but otherwise the star of the nightSweet pork - Also good, and nicely contrasted the spiciness from the chicken. Solid, but I think the chicken and rice cakes stood out more as things you need to tryStrawberry soju - I expected one of those small bottles of soju, but our server told us it came in a pitcher meant to be shared. Turns out it's actually a frozen drink mixed with fresh strawberries, and was perfect for both the heat from the food and the heat from the humid summer. If it wasn't a Sunday we could've polished off a couple more of these pitchersOverall a really fun place with great food, just make sure to get your order confirmed. Also their credit card machine seemed to be down the night we came - not sure if this is a perpetual thing like most taxi cabs suffer from, but they accepted Zelle as payment too."
"Don't sleep on Joy Korea! This is literally one of the two food court vendors that are still in existence inside the defunct Golf Mill mall - the place is going to go through complete renovation soon, but Joy Korea still keeps its patrons coming! After receiving a haircut, it was highly recommended to us to check Joy Korea out; appearances can be deceiving, because usually food court places tend to be a bit lackluster. The menu offers various 'BBQ', such as chicken and spicy chicken, chicken breast and spicy chicken breast, galbi, bulgogi and spicy bulgogi, pork and spicy pork (jaeyook bokeum), and shrimp; they also have chicken and pork katsu, japchae, bibimbop, ramen, soondooboo, and various sides (such as potstickers, eggrolls, kimchi, etc.).We tried the spicy pork, and it was pretty delicious! They prepare this over an open flame, so you have that nice flame/char taste to the meats; the marinade was flavorful, and the meal came with rice and various sides that were packed well.Definitely would like to check out the rest of the menu on the next visit.+flame-cooked KBBQ meats+located inside Golf Mill mall+plenty of parking"
"The ability to protein load at a Korean bbq restaurant is ideal. Between the beef combo and the seafood tofu soup, I got 70g of protein here. The marinated beef is my favorite, but my kid insists on getting a variety. We had 4 in our party and the large combo ($84.99) was all eaten. Every single piece of meat and all of the banchan. They offer a bean paste soup or a kimchi and tofu soup for free with the combo meals. Even though they offer soup for free, I always order the spicy seafood tofu soup for $9.99. -Especially during the colder months. Service is always great here. If you come here during the afternoon, there's virtually no wait at all. Dinner waits can be 30+ minutes"
"Checked out this place in Glenview after seeing it pop up when looking for Asian. It's a place that seemingly has lots of items featuring noodles. Paik's Noodle is a Korean restaurant. Has lots of items with noodles but has a problem about it. There's not much of choices for vegetarians as far as proteins. Has a pretty hectic atmosphere. If they're working so hard, why does it take so long to get the food? They're lacking in choices for vegetarians. It's $12 for Vegetable Fried Rice. The only thing basically acceptable, and that even needed modifications though. Make it vegan without eggs. The menu only has noodle items with chicken or seafood. It bites. Would have liked to try some of the noodles. Fuck. The others said their stuff was okay. Kind of greasy. This is like hit and miss. Being my choice the next time I probably wouldn't go here. It has a menu of only a few noodle entrees and not much choices for things such as proteins. There's almost nothing for vegans and vegetarians."
"Excellent service and fantastic food. They have yangyum gejang, which is hard to find in restaurants. It was spicy, so if you enjoy spicy I suggest you get it. The bossam was plentiful and included large fresh and clean oysters. We also ordered the gamja-tang and cold noodle soup. There were heaping amounts of beef in it and the soup was very savory. We also ordered the pajun as well. It was crispy, light, and flavorful. The service was excellent. The server was very attentive and kind. The restaurant was bustling with people. The ambience was light and fun. Lots of family in the restaurant that seemed like regular customers. Definitely enjoyed my time at this restaurant with my party of five. Definitely will be back!!!"
"Very thoughtful staff. Consistently great food and service. Very comfortable atmosphere."
"I have had this place on my list for a couple years and finally found myself in the neighborhood to go! Definitely some food competition on the block but Crisp holds its own. I loved the customer service and friendly staff. They love what they do and seeing the customers enjoy their meals. I ordered a 5 piece, two sauce, wing meal. I opted in for the sassy and Korean bbq. The cashier was so generous and allowed me to get a sac sac for free just to see how I enjoyed it. My personal favorite sauce of the wings were the Korean bbq as it's spicy and sticky similar to a glaze. And it has a kick of spice/ heat which is needed. You don't get bored with this sauce. The wings were large but super crispy. I'll be back for sure!"
"Delicious Korean street food! We ordered a corndog, ramen tteokbokki, and stick-bokki. All so good (but also spicy so be careful!). Great for that junk food craving lol. Portions were good for the price. Service a bit slow when busy but understandable. The stick-bokki had a bit too much glaze for my liking but it was fine. Would return!"
"Honestly, this place just made my heart happy. My friend and I shared the japche dish and the bulgogi and kimchi omelette. both were delicious, especially the omelette. Susie runs a one woman shop, and her grit doesn't go unnoticed."
"Haewadall is one of my family's go to spots whenever we're visiting Chicago. They have a wide array of dishes and every single entree we've tried has been amazing. If you're a fan of pork belly, I'd suggest giving the bossam a try (one of my personal favorites). It's a wrap using salted cabbage, boiled pork belly, and various toppings, such as seasoned oysters, which makes it a unique combination of flavors in each bite. Their food tastes authentic and is a hit even with my parents so be sure to give it a try when you're craving Korean food."
