A solid diner, open early. We went early enough that there was no wait. Food was good and what you'd expect from a diner. Grits (without cheese) were probably my favorite. As time went on, there was a wait on a Saturday morning with a lot of families with kids.

This place is part '70s kitsch museum, part local diner, serving old school diner classics with a hipster-spin and Fishtown flair. I haven't tried the legendary whitefish scrapple or the famous French toast yet (I'll be back for those), but what we did order was pretty solid breakfast fare. And the dude that sat and served us was awesome! Not to mention, his whole get-up double-downed on the hipster vibe.Scrapple & Eggs: 3/5Chipped Beef: 3/5Belgian Waffle: 3/5 (standard diner waffle)THOSE HASH BROWNS, THOUGH! (5/5)

The fact that I just visited Sulimay's for the first time, is a personal letdown. I can't imagine how often I would eat here if I lived closer to Girard. If you want a taste of Fishtown, then look no further...this diner has all the feels of what Fishtown represents: from the wait staff, to the art on the walls, to their menu (which has specific callouts and creations that showcase culinary ties to the local neighborhoods).I was completely blown away with my dish, which was scrapple and white fish mix with eggs. I am not embarrassed to say this, but I had an audible expression after my first bite...which immediately drew the attention of my family sitting with me, and they knew that I had ordered the winning plate. This is something that I've never seen on the menu anywhere else, it was the perfect combination of crunchy/spicy/buttery and dense. Also, when they ask you the option of the type of potatoes you want, you have to go with their home fries - unreal!it's a local vibe without the "locals only" expectations. This is absolutely a visitors destination for breakfast or lunch and one that you should try to schedule in, no matter where you're staying at in the city.

I've been coming here for a few months now and the food has always been excellent. The service is great even though they've been struggling to get enough staff. Sometimes things get hectic but be patient and they'll take great care of you. The diner itself is really comfortable and retro with a ton of Philly and breakfast-related memorabilia decorating the walls. They have a ton of great comfort foods on the menu and the chef-owner brings a ton of skill and care into the food he makes. Many of the things like their biscuits, pulled pork, and fish scrapple are all made in-house with hours of work outside their normal business hours and the extra effort really elevates every dish. They don't advertise it nearly enough but their food, and chef Chad's creativity, really shines on their lunch menu (weekdays after 11 am) with all sorts of delicious sandwiches and some of the best fries you'll find in the area.Anything with their pulled pork is fantastic and definitely give the Fishtown scrapple a try because it's more like the best fishcake you've ever had than anything weird. (Please make Fishtown scrapple sandwiches a thing though. A McFishtown?)

Food:Burger Night at Sulimay's in Fishtown is a revelation for the taste buds. The Oak-Lahoma and Double Onion burgers are the kind of culinary masterpieces that turn first-timers into regulars. With smashed patties that are perfectly crispy on the outside and oh-so-juicy on the inside, each burger is a symphony of flavors. The locally-sourced toppings and Chad Todd's homemade Pit Sauce elevate these burgers from mere menu items to a Philly food experience. And while the burgers are the Wednesday night draw, the buzz about their hearty American breakfasts has us planning our next visit.Service:The service at Sulimay's is a standout. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warmth that's become rare. Our server was adept at juggling dine-in guests and a flurry of phone orders, all with an effortless grace. It's clear that the staff here doesn't just serve food; they serve up smiles and a sense of community that's as satisfying as the meal.Ambiance:Sulimay's ambiance is a cozy blend of rustic charm and local sports pride. It's the kind of place where you can unwind and feel like you're part of the Fishtown fabric. The restaurant's vibe is a perfect backdrop for the delicious fare, with a lively yet relaxing energy that makes you want to linger longer.Sulimay's Restaurant is a must-visit spot in Philadelphia's Fishtown for anyone looking for top-notch burgers, stellar service, and an inviting atmosphere. It's a place that makes you feel at home, fills you up, and leaves you eager to return.

So many good things to say. Burger night, they are so worth it. The Big Mick will rent space in your head it's so good. The Eggs Bensington, stop it right now. That's the first dish I ordered from them, their scrapple game is strong. The hot sauce table makes me happy. The service is always good as well. When they have pumpkin pancakes on the menu, they're roasting the pumpkin for the pancakes, it's that kind of spot. The only reason it's not 5 stars is my last round of hash browns came out burnt, and not in a "we meant to do that" kind of way. It's a cash only spot with an ATM in the back, which is convenient. It gets busy in the weekends, so if you're headed there for breakfast, earlier is better.

Cash only but they have an atm. Really good greasy breakfast comfort food. Much bigger inside than I expected, walked in on a Saturday mid-morning and sat right away. Service was nice, only 3 people working but they were hustling

Good food, bad service. They'll leave you sitting there for 20-25 minutes just because they're yapping at the counter. Go spend your money elsewhere.
