"Great food and quick service. Came here with a hungry group, and our food came pretty quickly and hit the spot!A few of us split a scallion pancake, and it was quite good--flaky/not hard and had some nice layers. It was on the small side but still good for sharing.I tried the knife cut roast pork stir fry noodles and enjoyed the flavor of the meat and the slightly varied textures of the noodles! Very flavorful but not too rich. I enjoyed the veggies that gave a nice texture contrast with the noodles.I also sampled some of the house noodle bowl with the hand pulled noodles, which were also great! The broth was tasty, and there were a lot of varied meats and veggies included. With the solid food, fair prices, and good location, I'd definitely come here again!"
"Solid but not the best I've had. The duck was on the dryer side and quite bland, needing hoisin sauce for flavor. While the skin was crispy, they should balance the crispness without overcooking the meat. The service was nice and friendly. The pancake was standard. I tried some pieces immediately after picking it up to taste it at its peak, but finished the rest later. There are better spots I've been to for about the same price."
Spice Level: 3/3. One of our most popular dishes! Crispy, boneless pieces of chicken are tossed in a zesty combination of fiery dried chiles, tingly peppercorns, and smoky crushed red pepper, topped with sesame seeds and chopped wok-fried scallions.

"If you know me on Yelp then you've probably dined on tantalizing spicy Sichuan cuisine with me at a spot like Han Dynasty and know how much I enjoy dining with a group at spots like it. So when a friend suggested getting a group together to meet in Chinatown for a meal at EMei it was something that didn't take me long to say hell yes to. And when I read about it being among Philly Mag's top 50 restaurants of 2024, and Yelp's top places to eat of 2023 list, I was even more sold on this decision! As soon as I walked in it didn't take long to understand why it was so well received as soon as I made note of perfect dining spots for all-size parties, a well-stocked bar that served Asian & US beers, wines, and tantalizing-sounding cocktails, exceptional service, and then some. They even had a robot that delivered takeout orders from the back to the front of the house! While having take-out food delivered to you by a robot is a perk, going with a group of four or more so you can share as much food as you can family style is definitely the way to go! And our group enjoyed the following:Dan Dan Noodles w/ Pork - not as good as the ones that you'd find at Han Dynasty or DanDan, but still a satisfyingly spicy dish!Cucumbers in Garlic Sauce - the perfect cold vegetable dish in a pungent sauce to counterbalance all the incoming heat with!Homemade Dumplings in Hot Chili Oil - perfect spicy pillows filled with pork.Beef & Vegetable Chow Fun Noodles - HUGE sauced noodles with shreds of beef and vegetables. So good!Hot & Spicy Flounder Filet Bowl - Flounder perfectly cooked in a double chili and peppercorn broth with napa cabbage, Chinese leeks, garlic, scallions, and cilantro!Stir-Fried Steak Slivers with Long Hot Peppers - Finely sauteed slivers of beef cooked with long hots to provide just the right tinge of spice.Smoked Pork Belly Slices with Chinese Leeks - perfectly cooked smoky fatty slivers of sweet pork belly cooked with leeks for just the right bit of succulent funk. With a great first impression like that, I'll definitely be back for more!"
"Legit Philly Pho! Simply delicious! Clean broth and less MSG than NYC options. The parking in the plaza is chaotic but the fo water od was worth it"
"Banana Leaf offers quick and affordable Malaysian food. I was craving a hearty meal and had never tried Malaysian cuisine before so I gave it a go. A table for me and my two colleagues was available immediately during the lunch rush. This place is huge! The waiters and waitresses walk around with pitchers of water to give refills anytime they're needed. The staff working behind the counter were nice; welcoming us on the way in and greeting us on our way out. I ordered the Banana Leaf Mango Sauce with tofu. There is also an option of chicken, shrimp, or beef. The sauce was smooth and not spicy (I didn't want to burn my face off). The mango was cut into medium slivers and the tofu was crispy. The only thing I wish it had come with was rice, however, the rice was an extra $1.50 so I opted to have it sans rice. I boxed the leftovers and will probably add rice at home. Overall, I had a good experience here! They have several vegetarian options and can even customize existing dishes to include vegetables and substitute meat for tofu."
"This is my number one roast duck in North America so far, it's very delicious, another recommended dish is beef brisket noodles"
"Tried out their dumpling sampler. 6 for $12 seems a little pricey as you'd expect to be somewhat full. There was no way to find out which dumpling was which without biting into one. I couldn't differentiate a couple of the dumplings which I guessed were buffalo even though I know I ordered only 1 buffalo. Flavor wise it wasn't bad for most of them. Some of the dumplings looked more fried than others but it didn't really take away from the flavor. Nothing really bad but I don't think I'd drive out of my way again to have these."
"Was in manayunk with the family and has such a great " stumble upon" experience at this restaurant! There are so many restaurants packed down the strip of manayunk and it was really hard to choose. What made this choice easy was that they had the most food options my daughter would like on the menu lol walking in the atmosphere was so beautiful and service was immediately welcoming and let us know the kitchen was closing within 30 minutes but we could take our time ordering. I ordered Thai tea along with some pad Thai because I can't help but want to try these two items everywhere I go. We also ordered the fresh spring rolls. My favorite thing was definitely the pad thai which was made traditional with the cilantro and sprinkles of peanuts everywhere which I love. Some places don't use onion sprouts but I really love that this place does. My daughter really loved her chicken skewers which is the biggest win. I can't wait to intentionally dine here again."
"I'm not sure how I haven't yet reviewed Noodle 88, but it's fantastic restaurant that deserves a review! On our first trip in, we decided to try a variety of items. Fried rice, rice noodles, lo mein, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, dumplings, spring rolls, etc. I can honestly say that EVERYTHING was impressive! We had plenty of leftovers, but we polished them off within a day.We tend to get the same things over and over- the rice noodles are a favorite!- but we also tried a few new things. The one dish that BLEW MY MIND was the beef and broccoli. The beef is outrageously tender and reheats amazingly well! I also think all of the chicken in their dishes is lovely. White meat chicken, perfectly moist! The only thing I can say is "negative" would be the lo mein. It is NOTHING like any Chinese lo mein I have ever eaten. It is thick, ribbon-like noodles. I was pregnant the first time we ordered and I was VERY disappointed in the lo mein. Like, crying pregnant lady disappointed. It isn't BAD, but it's just not for me.Added bonuses are the delightful chocolate fortune cookies and a reward stamp card. You get a stamp for every $25 spent and eventually get a $25 gift card. Also- cute side note- all of their prices are $x.88... $5.88, $11.88. I emphatically recommend giving Noodle 88 a try!"
"Pro: My views on Thai food are a bit biased, for it may be my all time favorite cuisine. So I've rarely had a plate of Thai that I didn't like! However, I'm gonna give a general synopsis of Smile Cafe as just being "okay". Read below. Con: The Thai Beef Salad was decent. Maybe a little bland for heat seekers like myself, but it serves its purpose. However, the Spring Rolls tasted like they were fried in slightly reused oil. And this seems like a consistent trend after a couple visits. Bottom Line: Perhaps an abandonment of the fried fare and a request for extra spicy on the dish may bump the rating up by a star. Until then, it's just adequate food."
"I don't think Sang Kee deserves less than a 4-star rating. It Szechuan lunch specials are affordable, tasty, and authentic, definitely worth becoming a regular lunch spot just to try the food. Service was quick and easy, and the restaurant is clean. For reference, my bf and I tried the double cooked pork belly and mapo tofu, which is vegan but tastes good without the animal ingredients. The szechuan peppers are especially apparent in the mapo tofu, which was a plus for me. Not too spicy either."
"I had been to the Cherry Hill location and was excited for this one to open. The crab and pork soup dumplings will always be a staple item for me. My gf and I also enjoyed the scallion pancake with sliced beef. Shanghai Sui Mai was decent but I think next time I'd stick with the chicken sui mai."

Very casual, homey restaurant. The servers are friendly, and the food comes out quickly. The food wasn't bad (3.5 stars for the food), but overall I enjoyed the food more at Spice C.Things we tried:- Dumpling sampler: The dumpling skin was a bit too thick for my liking. Among all the types of dumplings in this sampler, the Chicken Mushroom was my favorite because it was the juiciest. The Pork one was my second favorite. The Vegetable dumpling was alright, and so was the Chicken Coconut Curry dumpling (nothing amazing). The Satay Beef was my least favorite that I didn't even want to try another piece. The Satay Beef filling was pretty dry. - Beef brisket noodle soup: This wasn't bad. Compared to Spice C's beef noodle soup, the broth here was lighter, and the hand-pulled noodles (not the shredded, knife-cut noodles) were thinner. - Scallion pancakes: Not bad. They were fragrant and more chewy than flaky. They were on the small side too. The food isn't bad here, but because Spice C is so nearby, I'd probably go to Spice C next time I'm in the area and want noodles. I think Spice C is a bit cheaper too and their portions are a bit bigger.

Beef chow fun and their wonton noodle soup never disappoints! The broth is light yet flavorful. Noodles and wontons are bouncy. Love the duck wraps as well- perfect amount of scallions and hoisin sauce.

"holy brrsh"The best restaurant in Chinatown. Absolutely stunning dishes everywhere and not even expensive. The layout and space of the restaurant can be wonky but wear a blindfold and enjoy.Recommend the chongqing spicy chicken and chilled sesame noodles.Enjoy the hot tea and iced water.

Found this buzzy little Malaysian restaurant thanks to Yelp! The inside is deceivingly large, we walked in and almost walked out because it seemed like there was no one in the restaurant. Our server led us all the way back down the hallway and we were suddenly greeted by lots of large parties happily chowing down on noodles and rice and having great conversation. Once we sat down we immediately knew we were in the right place. Our Indonesian coffee, roti canai, beef chow fun, and beef rendang were all immensely enjoyed by the family. Everything came out piping hot, tender when needed, and just authentic and delicious. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant with kids, our servers were so accommodating. They made a makeshift booster seat for my two year old, brought out appropriately sized utensils, and checked in on them often like they were their own. When they found out about my youngest peanut allergy, they made careful note to run through to the menu and make sure all of the dishes we ordered were nut free. This place isn't super aesthetic or fancy -- but it's good food served by good people and honestly made this whole meal a five star experience.

This place is spot on point. Every other place we tried in Manyunk was eh. On tops if that the parking sucks. This place I would brave their unbearable parking situation for. I was worried after trying that new Thai place in fishtown nothing would compare. This place is different. Not as fancy or expensive. Plus for me. Good just as delicious. We had four people checking on us and I think one was the owner. Even though we were the only people out front. There is outdoor seating along the side we didn't notice that looked real quaint. Next time we will try that. AND THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME.

"This restaurant is on the smaller side but in the best way. You are immediately greeted with a warm welcome as you enter, truly feels like home! The service is so fast but they give you plenty of time to look things over, there is no rushed feeling what so ever. The menu is pretty big but I've never disliked a roll here! The garlic roll was so different and delicious! The vegetable fried rice had a Smokey taste which I liked but it was surprising! Overall such a great place to dine or take out!"
"Delicious Pad See Ew with fresh veggies. The cozy restaurant doesn't have much space for indoor seating and just a take-out spot. The Pad See Ew featured thick al dente noodles with a heap of fresh veggies - peppers, broccoli, squash, carrots, green beans, corn. I was impressed by the variety and freshness of the veggies. I wasn't a fan of the stiff tofu and tossed out the cubes of tofu. Overall, the dish hit the spot and the restaurant satisfied my sweet and savory craving, true to its name!"
"I've dined in and gotten take-out a few times from this location. The menu is extensive, with traditional offerings, which is always a welcome sight.Whenever I see authentic Chinese cuisine offered at a local Chinese restaurant, I always have to order something. It's not that common out here in the burbs. I've always had a positive experience dining in here and the food for takeout is always piping hot and well-seasoned."
"The food was delicious when we ordered delivery, but when we went in person we had to walk out after waiting to be seated. There were two people at the front counter and they greeted us, but they didn't offer to seat us and we had to ask. Neither could seat us and we had to wait for the host. After waiting around for the host, we decided to leave. It was a Friday night. Not sure if I want to come back in person again."
"Above average fresh sushi. But, portions are small. Not many gluten free options. If you order a meal with choice of miso soup or salad, both contain gluten. It would be great if the restaurant could afford a gluten free option, for those who are allergic to gluten. Rolls in the Any 3 Dinner are 6 slices each, as opposed to 8. It comes with miso soup or salad. I ordered two of the Any 3 Dinner. They could've substituted 1 edamame for two soups. If I opted for the salad, which there's no gluten free dressing option, it would've been $1 more for each. However, they didn't. Shortsighted? There's many rolls to choose from. All refreshing and healthy."
"GF friends, delight! Noodle 88 offers a specific GF menu which highlights what can be made gluten free, and their adjustments are delicious (Copy of Gluten free menu from fall 2023 included in pics!). I had the sweet and sour chicken, which came with broccoli; it was the most delicious sweet and sour chicken I've ever had! Everything was extremely fresh and tasty. Will certainly be back to try more."
"Absolutely loved it! We ordered Gyoza and Seafood soup to start and for dinner we both ordered a Stonepot. Very delicious!! Every one there appeared to be friendly and they had an efficient process going on, balancing take out, dine ins, and the sushi bar. We didn't have to wait long at all for a table or for our food. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He accidentally spilled some soup when placing it on the table but handled it super professionally and it was not a big deal at all. He was still a great waiter and we enjoyed having him. I'll definitely be coming back and enjoyed my experience! Check them out! I recommend."
"Pros- easy and ample parking- clean, spacious, and inviting interior- we got there early before they opened and they still seated us so we wouldn't have to wait out in the cold- food portions are great and so worth the price!- Aoyama spicy ramen was delicious..so flavorful and not too salty- offer bubble tea here as well!- check in on yelp and get 15% off your first visit!- Food came out quickly but also not all at the same timeCons- restroom does not have a diaper changer :("
"This was great ramen. The broth was insanely complex and almost tasted like bacon. This was one of the best broths I've had.The wavy egg noodles (ordered as a sub) were fresh, and chewy, and dense. The egg was so creamy and smooth. The side mini curry had perfectly executed rice, intense Japanese aromatic curry, and tender/juicy chicken thighs. The service was prompt and friendly."
"I wanted to like Sakura Japanese Restaurant so much because after we rented a car with no trunk our Delaware visit got scrapped so it was the one other place beyond Halloween City that we stopped into. But we didn't know they did an 'all you can eat' special when we dropped in, which was not the type of restaurant we were looking for. We decided to stay and I ordered the usual suspects, an avocado and cucumber roll as well as miso soup. The service was friendly and I enjoyed their decor and that the rolls were served in a boat, but the food was simply okay. Nothing amazing, just average quality ingredients made into average sushi. At the end of the day, I wouldn't make a special trip for Sakura Japanese Restaurant and would likely try another spot first."
"Amazing food and service! A hidden gem in Exton, Pennsylvania!! If you pass this place on route 100 going through Exton, you should stop...it really is amazing!"
"Some of the best Thai food available. The chef and her husband make a great team. The chicken and curry, red curry, and papaya salads are crazy good"
"Tried the bum bo hue this time. Very good, but was expecting the tomato base broth. Overall good experience."
"Surprisingly decent Vietnamese food in the Havertown area. The broken rice dishes and pho were both good! Super comforting and flavorful dishes. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. Service was friendly and attentive. Bathroom was pretty dirty which could use improvement. The other speciality entrees were not too noteworthy, but I do recommend a classic rice with grilled meat or pho from Hanoi's."
"Take out/Pick-up review: four stars!! I've tried Singapore rice noodles at five other Chinese restaurants in NE Philly, and this has been my favorite bang for the buck. Good amount of meat (beef and chicken, because I don't like shrimp or pork) and cabbage was sufficient. Could have used more carrots and onions imo (but I say this about every Chinese place because I always want more veggies lol).I also got the sizzling cauliflower and bacon wrapped mushroom/white stringy fungi. Bacon wrapped at a spice level of "Less Spicy" was still REALLY spicy, but 100% worth the tears I cried because it was that tasty. The bacon was slightly-crispy on the outside and tender and soft on the inside touching the mushroom. And it's so cute!!! The cauliflower I got the "No spice" option, and it ended up being quite bland. I was kind of hoping it would have been seasoned with salt&pepper&garlic or something, but it really seemed like it was just cumin and no salt at all. Next time I know to get the "Less Spicy" option. My sister ordered the Vegetable Lo Mein and loved it. For 10-14$ for a meal a serving size of 1.5-2 servings, I'd say this place is pretty great. As other reviewers have mentioned, their customer service has room for improvement (the front desk man and woman seemed very stressed and curt when I picked up my order) but eh, if you're just doing take out or delivery I'd say it's worth it. Love that this place has creative options and flavor combinations, as well as the option to sub rice noodle for egg noodle for any options (great my me and my gluten-free self). Would return if I want food in a jiffy. My order was ready in ten-15 mins!"
"Loving this place during the pandemic. Easy pickup from the window they installed in the front vestibule. I don't eat sushi, I mainly get teriyaki and Samurai does a great chicken and steak teriyaki. I get the dinner which comes with rice, salad with ginger dressing, and half an orange. I prefer a sweeter ginger dressing, but this is still pretty good. The chicken has been phenomenal. Very tender and juicy. I had them make a bid and chicken combo but the 2nd time my beef was a bit overcooked. They didn't actually ask me how I liked it, but at most places it's served medium rare and this was medium well. They also have a filet mignon one I'd like to try."
"Saigon Noodle Bar is a great addition to the Chestnut Hill Farmers Market bringing Vietnamese cooking to Chestnut Hill. You can eat at this stand in the market or at a table outside ... or just do takeout as I did. They'll give you a beeper to alert you when your order is ready so you can shop in the market or go buy a beer and claim your outdoor table if you are eating there and the weather is nice. Now the food ranged from great to decent. I loved the Chao Tom! This famous shrimp mixture wrapped around sugar cane is a special treat from the Hue region of Vietnam. At Saigon Noodle Bar it was expertly prepared and the accompanying fish sauce added to its flavors. The Cha Gio were also good and well filled. I like dipping these in fish sauce as well but at this point I was running low of the one sauce portion they included. That became more of a problem to me with my main dish of Bun Thit Nu'o'ng. It was okay but I need some sauce for the noodles, veggies, and salad ... or some seasoning. Fish sauce would work fine but I had used all mine up. Note to restaurant - put in two portions of fish sauce and not just one! Fortunately since I was at home I could make up a nice & spicy Thai sauce (ok I know it's not Vietnamese) and it worked well with the noodles and salad. I don't want to fail to mention that the staff working at this Vietnamese eatery were very friendly ... and probably would have given me more sauce if I had known at the time of purchase how little was included. I would def return to Saigan Noodle Bar but switch up my main course. The Chao Tom, however, I would easily order again!"
"This is our go-to for takeout sushi and Chinese food in town. We especially love that they're open on Mondays when a lot of other restaurants are closed. We're always so happy with the order and they can accommodate dietary restrictions as well (like asking for gluten free dishes)."
"What a delightful Korean-Japanese fusion cafe! They offer ramen, delicious fusion dishes, and inari which is like giant sushi but with tofu skin instead of seaweed wraps. The whole place, while small, is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated with a unique personality. Love the creative inari, and the ramen was very good as well. See my photos. One of the highlights is their fruit punches that come in funny-looking plastic bags (that reminded me of IV bags). There were yuzu and pineapple punches. Yuzu was the best!"
"Had to come and viet this place to see if it was legit. There was an old Vietnamese man smoking a cigarette outside so we were pretty sure it was going to bistro good and we were right!I used to go to Huong Tram/Nam Son all the time when I lived here and I love The Breakfast Den but it's so great that there's a traditional Vietnamese place in Grad Hospital again! I recognized one of the waiters from Huong Tram I think and my friend recognized another from another closed Viet restaurant at 11th and Washington so it's so nice to see familiar faces again!Food:Egg rolls (cha gio)- usually call these spring rolls but either way they're delicious, fried and stuffed with pork.Spring rolls- usually call these summer rolls but, again, so delicious we forgot to take a pic. Shrimp and pork Pho Tai- we ordered Tai Nam but they brought the wrong one. Either way, good amount of meat, good broth (not as amazing as Washington Ave, but still good).Banh mi- ordered the BBQ pork and they brought out the wrong one, but brought out this one when we told them- toasty fresh bread, delicious meat, watch out for the jalapenos!Lemongrass beef bun (vermicelli)- great flavor beef and sauceGood size portions, great price, delicious food, quick service, and BYOB! Just double check when you order and get your food that you got the right thing. Hoping all the people who learned to love fusion Viet food from TBD migrate over here and support Viet Bistro too!"
"Collegeville is lacking a good many things, and a decent takeout Chinese food place is definitely on that list. Well, perhaps no longer. I honestly had no idea Rice House was there, and it seems as though they are very new to the area. I tried it today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised!Ordered online for in-store pick-up. Their website could use a bit more work, but it allowed me to order online easily and quickly. Got the job done for sure. Order took about fifteen minutes and was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Service at the restaurant was pleasant, though I only spoke with the one girl who took my payment. You can pay in-person or online, but I chose in-person this time. Restaurant itself is small, basically purpose built for takeout in the traditional "small front area, ordering counter, and huge kitchen in the back" layout. Order was a lunch portion of General Tso's with pork fried rice, some beef on a stick, and tangerine chicken. It was all delicious! Ok, the beef on a stick was average. Good flavor, but it needed to be cooked hotter or longer. No caramelization on the meat at all, and that really gives it some extra flavor. But very tender. The General Tso's and Tangerine chicken were both delicious! Lots of flavorful sauce, good cuts of chicken, and crispy! So many takeout chinese places in the area, you get the food, the chicken is soggy. Rice House's offering is crispy and crunchy even after I got it home, which I've been desperately missing. The pork fried rice had lots of flavor, but was not greasy, so a pleasant combination.Overall, this may be my new place for Chinese takeout, though I hope they improve the beef on a stick. That being said, if you like takeout chinese, definitely give this place a shot!"
"New Banh Mi and Vietnamese eats shack on East Passyunk! We're so excited to welcome MoonNight onto East Passyunk! Looking forward to trying out the Vietnamese entrees that are on the menu!As for what I ordered when I went, we got 2 of the lunch specials with BBQ Chicken Banh Mi, Lychee Tea, Green Forest Sunset Tea, Egg Pudding, and Taro Pudding. The BBQ Chicken Bahn Mi was phenomenal! The chicken really tasted like it came straight off a barbeque grill. It was such a pleasant taste, and the chicken was quite juicy. The Lychee Tea was good! It's Lychee flavor is a bit subtle but personally I thought it was still enjoyable and good to go alongside a Banh Mi.The Green Forest Sunset Tea was okay, I personally didn't like that the seeds were still in the drink, it gave an unpleasant mouth feel and crunch. It was a bit too sour for my taste. The mango jelly in both drinks though tasted amazing! It reminded me of those mango jelly lychee cups I used to eat in the plastic tubs growing up!The Egg Pudding was hands down the best way to end this meal! The flavors were so complex and tasted amazing. There's a bit of a caramelized taste from the liquid and a light coffee taste as well. The Egg Pudding itself wasn't overly sweet and tasted like a very solid Egg Pudding. The Taro Pudding tasted good. Very light Taro taste, but more like a powdered Taro taste. I'm not a huge fan of Taro, so I feel like I can't really comment on the quality of the Taro taste, but as someone who isn't a fan of Taro it tasted good.I'd definitely come back here again to try out the other items on their menu, or honestly just to grab another lunch special!"
"This cute Thai restaurant is located at the corner of 8th and Moyamensing. So convenient to get to by bus 47 as it stops on the corner. There was only one girl at the counter. She was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. There are about 20 seats. Appetizer: crisp shrimp wraps: medium size shrimp, very crunchy with sweet chili dipping sauce. It's ok.Thai glazed chicken wings: 5 wings per serving. Came out super hot. Wait until they cool down a bit so you don't burn your hands and mouth. They are delicious but messy as the glaze is sticky. I recommend bringing wet wipes. Papaya salad: fresh and authentic, not too acidic as it was balanced with sweetness from palm sugar. I asked for it not spicy. It has sliced grape tomatoes and snake beans topped with generous amounts of crushed peanuts. Highly recommend.Drunken noodles: the chicken was flavorful but the beef was a bit tough and very sweet."
