"Honey lavender latte - fantastic. The food was so good! Expect large. portions & it's cash only but they have an atm out front. Def will be a regular spot for me when in the city."
"Came here for dinner before seeing a show at the Kimmel. Great service and tasty food! The restaurant is very dark and moody. My parents needed a flashlight to read the menu.We ordered the crispy cheese curds to share. 10/10! Super light, crispy and easy to eat a ton. For entrees, we ordered Marilyn's fried chicken, seared verlasso salmon and short rib stroganoff. I'd honestly recommend them all, but my favorite was the stroganoff! At the end, we all shared one order of the pumpkin cheesecake which was decadent and sweet.Great restaurant and a place I would definitely return to!"

"Words cannot explain how much I'd loved the food here and the ambiance and the service. Just everything! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and some well-deserved promotions at work and we couldn't have chosen a better place on a lovely Saturday brunch-filled morning. .We arrived and we're escorted to the second floor which opened up to a cozy but at the same time tall ceiling Place filled with art and random exotic plants and happy customers eating delicious food. We ordered a few appetizers which were pretty delicious, but the star of the show for me was their spend on a Nashville hot open face chicken sandwich. It was by far the most delicious chicken sandwich I'd eaten in years. The combination of a thick breaded and buttery crust holding very moist chicken was just incredible. I honestly can't even remember what my side dish was or would it taste like even with pictures because that's how focused I was on the chicken sandwich lol My drink was pretty good but I really enjoyed my wife's drink the most because it had hints of elderflower and some really bitter liquor. That was a great balance. I had their take on carrot cake for dessert which was okay.. It wasn't terrible at all, but I wish the portions were a little bigger. Overall, I cannot wait to spend another Saturday or Sunday brunch at the Love."
"Great vibes here love the drinks at this spot always good I enjoy the vibe happy hour good even if you miss it the bill still be chilling"
"Breakfast was ... fine. To be fair I didn't have French toast, which seems to be their calling card, or a mimosa ... music was really loud for 9am on a Sunday, service was ok."
"Beautiful outdoor area with heat lamps and spacious interior. Happy hour food is only at the bar while you can get happy hour drinks at the table. They do half off the cocktail of the week for happy hour which is a steal! Great place for a night out."
"Finally made it to middle child and it lived up to the hype. I'm still thinking about my pancake I ate 3 hours ago. The workers were friendly and the inside of the restaurant gives off chill and causal vibes. Besides the pancake we had the breakfast sandwich with pork roll add avocado. Highly recommend checking this place out especially if you're from out of town. You won't be disappointed"
"If you are ever in Philadelphia, you must stop at this place! I wish we lived closer and could go more often! This time we tried a few new dishes and all were delicious. Also tried a few we had before and were still just as good! I don't think you can go wrong here! Food: Potato pancakes just as good as I remembered and love the apple sauce where my husband prefers the sour cream. Husband got the huge roast beef and loved it! Plenty of meat! Good rye bread and he enjoyed the potato salad Chicken noodle soup-absolutely delicious!!! Macaroni salad-so good! Hot dog-on the challah bread-so delicious! The way a hot dog should be. Carrot Cake-so tastyFunfetti Cake-tasty as well Chocolate chip cookies-the best! The inside is not too large and some of the tables are a little close but I think that is part of the charm. A lot of famous people have visited throughout the years and they have pictures on the walls as well as placards at the tables where they have sat. Our server was attentive and even though it was a full house she checked on us and the kitchen was rocking with getting food out. Love that at the end of the meal everyone gets a decent size chocolate chip cookie!"
"Holy Heck great pizza, and great bathrooms too, especially in the winter! We went as a group and the service was spectacular, the pizzas were amazing, and we were in an out in a reasonable amount of time for lunch. The bathrooms must be right next to the pizza ovens as it was so warm and cozy inside. Probably not the best in the summer, but on a cool day, it's worth a trip to warm your cockles."
"Had five stars but my last visit something kinda gross happened. I love this place, don't get me wrong. The food is some of the best mexican in the city. They have a beautiful outside section and the indoors is cozy and well decorated. However, last time I went my water was served to me in a dirty cup. There was a lip stick stain on the lip of my cup and I took a sip before I noticed!!! The server seemed unapologetic but replaced the cup (which i obviously still didn't drink from). For the rest of my meal he would come up to us and just stand silently look at us for a bit too long before speaking. Every time he came over it just felt so awkward. Other than that I used to ADORE this place. I'm upset that my last experience wasn't too good."
"I LOVEEEEEEED this place! I went there last month and today I decided to leave a review because the food is sooo yummmmmy! So delicious ! It's super chill and I also enjoyed the service! Yummm will be back soon!"
"We waited leads thank 20 mins for out table by the windows.Made the crème brûlée pancakes with theirveggie omelette .2 cups for Joe.What is delight! What delicious fresh food. Service was good!!"

In Philly Green Eggs Cafe for brunch is a must do. They are cash only but have an ATM. Their staff is very friendly and seating gets full so be prepared to wait even on a weekday. Our wait was short but there was a long line waiting when we left on a Monday morning, so be prepared to wait a while especially on weekends. The ambiance is very nice in a historic building yet simple. The Lavender and Oreo Lattes were the best we ever had and the Spicy Margaret 21+ drink I got was amazing too. But the best thing here is the unbeatable food in which my wife and I shared the French Toast Board (a smaller of four of their famous French toasts, an Apple Pie French Toast, and the Short Rib and Tinga Egg Rolls. A final cute touch was when they put the receipt in an empty coffee mug and we put our cash in there.

Hidden gem right in the middle of Philadelphia! After finding the restaurant (it's on the corner, just a bit hard to find), the vibe hit me at once. It was filled with memorabilia you would remember from your family, scattered around in plain sight with a cozy restaurant ambiance. The staff were so friendly with so many insights on the food (our waitress was excited we asked ... it was very cute) Food was delicious and not overpriced for what you were getting, which is a change from a lot of the restaurants around. Homestyle meals from your Sunday night dinners growing up ... including the biscuits! Some of the best biscuits I've ever had. Kids kept talking and I kept fading out from the deliciousness. Please try this restaurant out, it's going to be a new tradition for us in the next trip to Philly, and I think it might be for you too!

What a beautiful Stephen Starr restaurant located right in Rittenhouse. While everyone loves Parc on Rittenhouse Square, this place does offer a similarly interesting menu. The place was very busy for a Monday afternoon when we arrived. Slowly around 2pm the lunch rush left and we were left to a pretty desolate restaurant. The waiter was very attentive the whole time and didn't rush us out.I ordered the Nashville hot chicken (Take Me Away) and man it was so delicious. I don't even want to think about the amount of calories in this dish but it was perfectly crispy and was coated with spice (they didn't lie about the heat). The chicken came on a nicely toasted bread with some pickles on the side. I could only eat half the dish in one sitting. They really packed two big pieces of chicken. The salad I ordered as a side was also super fresh and well done. It was a cucumber and feta salad that came with pickled onions (always a highlight on a dish) and this amazing vinaigrette you just have to try.

My bf and I love coming here for dinner. We never make it in time for happy hour and never tried brunch, but their dinner menu is great.Love the ambiance and the staff are all very friendly. Multitaskers. One night my waitress was also the host. Last night my water was also a bartender. Busy but still very attentive! Nachos are good and easy appetizer to share for a few bucks. Both the red and green are spicy. We love the chopped salad and ordered it twice. Once with grilled chicken and the other time with shrimp. Delicious and a dish I highly recommend sharing and pairing with something else. The enchiladas verde that's on their special is a hit! Delicious, filling and flavorful! The chicken quesadilla in the other hand gets two thumbs down. Wasn't terrible but not a dish we would reorder.Love their city wide specials and a great date night spot!

I stopped in on a Thursday for brunch. Overall, I liked the food and drinks as did my friend. They were a little short staffed, so I'd have to go back to give a true assessment on the service. It was a little chilly in the dinning room but the bar area is warmer. I ordered the vegan crème brûlée French toast. Tasty but on drier side. I would had asked for more syrup but it was too busy to get anyone. :(

Made it here for breakfast and they were very busy with a bit of a wait. However, the kitchen puts out amazing food very quickly so this should not be a worry to have. Interior is very welcoming and there is also a back patio when the weather is nicer. Drink and food selection was good, and there are lots of comfort food style breakfasts. Chilaquiles we're quite tasty and well put together. Very good place to stop in. Thanks

Wow! Blown away by how delicious these sandwiches are. I never believed it when I heard everyone rave about this place because I didn't think I could be blown away by sandwiches. We got the Shopsin Club and the Bye Felicia sandwich. Overall I like the Shopsin Club better than Bye Felicia because I like warm sandwiches better than cold. The miso sauce paired really well and I was craving protein after my workout. However, I was also quite surprised at how they were able to make the Bye Felicia vegetable sandwhich so good! If you can't decide what to get, bring a friend and split the sandwhich since they come in halves anyways. The portion sizes are also huge. We came during the weekend around 10-11am and there was a 25min wait to get the food takeout. I would highly suggest ordering online to come pick up if you were not planning on eating inside. The spaces felt very casual and too busy I wouldn't suggest eating here anyways. The entire time I was waiting for my food, there were constantly streams of customers coming in to order take out! It was crazy busy. Highly recommend this place for a health and filling breakfast/lunch

Found out the other day that my boyfriend had never been here, so we changed that! We came in on Friday morning. We're able to find street parking easily which is always a good thing! We started with the pickles which I love! I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs. My boyfriend had the grilled Reuben with the potato latkes. We also had the fries. Everything was incredible, including the service! I love it here. Always have. It's beautiful to me-the windows, the light fixtures, the tile. Such a wonderful place to enjoy some really great food! Yes, it can expensive but the servings are huge. You can absolutely split a sandwich or you can take leftovers home and enjoy it again! Well worth it!

"My go-to whether I stay at the hotel attached or not. THe food is great, you can work from the tables or counter with ease and the coffee is unmatched."
"(to the tune of "Build a B*tch" by Bella Poarch)If I had to build a brunch (a brunch)And I could pick and chooseI'd have lots of options for foodsand a variety of brunch boozeIf I was building brunch (some brunch)I'm make my way to Kraftwork soonand if you need brunch, this is the spot for you (yeah)Beer and burgers, this is the spotBut I heard they had some brunchSaw the menu, looking goodWent around a weekend lunchGot some chicken and some wafflesHuevos Rancheros, bacon (natch)And the potatoes were so crispyalmost ordered a second batchThe prices are on pointwith plates as large as my big headBloody Mary garnished with grilled cheese -I am DEAD.It's been a minute since I've visited Kraftwork (as I'm expecting a baby and haven't been going to bars too much) but I didn't realize they now offer brunch! Naturally, I had to try it (as it's a quick walk) and was so pleased with the experience. Our server was the friendliest, and the food came out fast but hot/fresh. The Bloody Mary was a real hit with my husband, and I was OBSESSED with my chicken and waffles - nearly licked the plate. We found out they have takeout beer, too - looking forward to taking advantage of that when I'm drinking again!"
"I had my first experience at Winnie's over the weekend and while I think the 3.5 star overall rating is pretty accurate, I needed to bump up to a 4 star thanks to the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Every person we encountered was so kind and welcoming, which goes a long way for me - especially when I have a dog in tow. That's the other amazing part of Winnie's: they go beyond dog friendliness on their patio and even took a photo of Miss. Fred for the dog wall! Winnie's is an amazing vibe for post-hike outdoor lunch or brunch. We were sitting outside on a relatively cool day and had no issue snagging a table at 10am on a Saturday. That being said, my veggie frittata and my boyfriend's lox plate were not great. The lox plate only comes with one bagel option (pumpernickel) and the veggie frittata is just unremarkable. I think I want to try more of their *delectable* options when I return in the future, like eggs benny and the sandwiches - both of which look really good.My coffee? Fantastic and not your standard diner fare. The complimentary cornbread? Sweet, cakey, and just how I like it. Vibes? So good. I look forward to my next trip to Winnie's and appreciate this amazing team for making our weekend morning out with a dog such a success!"
"This cafe is located on south street. Usually I go to Sabrina's cafe since I have been going there since college but I decided to try somewhere new. This place offers an Australian theme which was really cool. The brunch menu was reasonably priced. If dining in, this place is cash only! Venmo is only accepted if food is being picked up. The place has two dining rooms. I didn't realize they had another side until I got up to use the bathroom. The menu definitely has an interesting twist in food selection. For example, I got the Sweet Chili Pork Roll Sandwich which was really delicious. Reminded me only a little bit about going to the Jersey shore. I like how they used foccacia and I liked the crunchiness the hash browns offer. The asian crisp garlic mayo offered a different taste than I am use to with this kind of dish. The chip that came with this dish (sweet potato fries) should not be missed either. The waiter even said how amazing the chips are. The service was great (unlimited, quick coffee service) and I loved the music they played."
"I'll say it: living in close proximity to The Bakeshop and trying to live a healthy lifestyle is hell. What's a girl to do when one of Yelp's top chocolate chip cookies in the COUNTRY is steps away, calling my name after any minor inconvenience I encounter? I am a mere cookie-loving mortal!Everything is so good here you're not gonna go wrong. There's probably going to be a line whenever you go (and there is a 100% chance of a line on weekend mornings) but don't let that deter you! It moves very quickly and you can even order online for pickup if you're looking for added ease. I tried their BEC for the first time, ordering it ahead and enjoying it on a park bench in the square, a course of action I highly recommend. The staff here is as sweet as the baked goods and truly nothing I've tried has missed. The classic chocolate chip is the star of the show but my underrated favorite is the gorgeous lemon ricotta cookie. Next on the must try list? Breakfast items like sticky buns and their lunchtime sandwiches. Thank you for existing, Bakeshop on 20th!"
"Wow. We have dined here before and it has always been good. Today is was great, one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I started with the lemon ginger honey tea which exceeded my expectations. All the ingredients were FRESH, no tea. For lunch my husband and I shared the brisket tacos and seafood soup. I started with the brisket tacos w/ consommé... I can't believe how good they were. The consommé was so rich and complex, the brisket crispy yet juicy. The seafood soup was made with guajillo and tomato broth served with the perfect crusty bread. I ate it until I could not eat anymore. Atmosphere is welcoming and authentic. The barista was friendly and knew what he was doing. We live this place, you will too."
"For some reason I thought this place would be light bright but it's a very dark pub bar sort of feel. I opted for just the empanadas which isn't really ground chicken as described on the menu but more pulled. I reallyyyy enjoyed them. My friends had the quesabirria which they liked - very filling. It's been awhile since I've had a good margarita and this place had some good ones. I had the pineapple jalapeño. We also did 6 shots of patron ($90) which was a wee bit pricey but to fair they were pretty hefty shots. Id come here for drinking and apps again but not for dinner."
"Wow! This place is an outstanding brunch place right across from Planned Parenthood (quite an interesting scene outside) in the gayborhood. The place was packed when we went on a Saturday afternoon. The place is byob which was a pleasant surprise when I discovered it. I told my other girlfriends and we ended up having 2 bottles of wine at brunch. The hostess turned out to be the owner and he was quite friendly. He opened our bottles and told us the specials (the place specializes in Dutch food which was quite an experience). The waitress came by and we placed our orders. I ended up getting the Hawaiian Uitsmijter, which was basically a Dutch open faced sandwich. Honestly, the plate was so stuffed it was my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bread I chose was pumpernickel which was soft and tasted so fresh. On top of the bread was ham, pinapple and Gouda with runny eggs. I added some chili pepper since my Indian scents don't like a nonspicy meal (I know, I ruined the Dutch taste). The ham was nice, juicy, and thick. There was a salad and pickle that came on the side.Honestly, my friends and I had such a blast we ended up staying past closing. The staff was friendly for not kicking us out). We ended up getting last call for dessert. All three of us split the Deep Fried Bread Pudding French Toast. It was delicious. It was so thick and the homemade blueberry jam killed the dish."
"I ordered via Postmates so I can only imagine the in person experience. The chorizo breakfast burrito is AMAZING. I've never rushed to write a review to fast. As a Mexican and Los Angeles visitor I can attest to this being some of the best chorizo I've ever had.The flat white with vanilla syrup is equally delicious.Would definitely recommend this place!"
"I've never actually dined in here so this review is based solely on their takeout and delivery game, which is top notch! They have a great crowd pleasing menu that ranges from soups and smoothies to chicken parm and all day breakfast options. One of those great spots when you're not totally sure what you're in the mood for...you can basically let their menu kind of decide for you. I've tried their tuna / chicken salad wraps and also their Moroccan salmon salad, all of which have been excellent. Wraps come with a tasty caesar salad and are an absolute go-to. The team members I've encountered here have always been incredibly friendly. If I lived a bit closer to either location I would be here all the time, but for now I really enjoy grabbing lunch or dinner while in the neighborhood, and would absolutely recommend a stop in to anyone."
"Delicious food. Service was a little slow but thats bc the places was packed to the gills"
"I was here for a yelp pickup event but wanted to stay to work a little since the place was not very crowded when I came. I ordered extra items and got the Portland Panini. It was a bit disappointing because I didn't read too clearly and didn't see that the Portland panini was made with wheat bread. (Instead of the classic ciabatta, focaccia, or baguette) So basically it's a sandwich, not a panini...I added chicken as an extra and the bread came out to be around $15. The "panini" was a bit soggy and almost room temperature when I took my first bite. It was tasty but there was nothing special about it. I liked how they have outlets throughout the shop close to the seats so if you were here to work you can easily charge your electronics. The amount of natural sunlight is welcoming. The staffs were really friendly. This is a cute coffee shop to grab coffee and breakfast to catch up with friends or work. I wouldn't come here and expect to be wow-ed or find anything innovative."
"Despite the restaurant being full to the point of having a short wait to be seated, the food came extremely quickly. The Mexi Hash tasted very fresh with each of the numerous vegetables, the applewood smoked bacon and the eggs being prominent to just the right extent. Can't wait to have this dish again, but also can't wait to try other items on the menu!"
"In spite of having not visited Penrose Diner during the two visits I have had to Philadelphia for the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run; I vowed to visit it during my third trip to the city since it sits right across from the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Arpt-Stadium Area where I typically stay. I must say that I finally realized that Penrose Diner is a hidden gem in South Philadelphia; this classic diner has been around for more than 50 years in Philadelphia which is why I had to visit. And I put off getting in an early morning run, just so I could visit once the diner opened because I have seen how busy it gets! In fact, that is a reason why I was deterred from visiting in the previous years. Once I entered the location, I waited, then proceeded to the bar area for a seat, rather than a booth seat in the dining area. The server, Colleen, did her tasks behind the counter, acknowledging me by asking me if I needed anything to drink and a menu in-between doing her tasks. Once I was ready to order after looking at the menu, I ended up ordering a short stack of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a small orange juice which was presented to me within an acceptable time frame. I enjoyed sitting at the bar because there was a television plastered ahead which gave me something to look at. Prior to taking my first bite of the scrambled eggs, I smirked as Adele 'Hello' played in the background because it is a song I absolutely adore! The scrambled eggs tasted fantastic! And the short stack of pancakes did not disappoint as I knew they would not; there were plenty of syrup containers given to make it taste just the way I like. My only regret with the short stack was that I should have ordered just one pancake rather than the short stack, because I ended up not eating all of it. In-between eating, I could not help but overhear the genuine employee interaction with one of the regular customers. Oh my, these Philadelphian accents, I always look forward to hearing them when I visit Philadelphia because it is a breath of fresh air in comparison to midwestern accents in Chicago. In closing, I am quite positive that I will revisit Penrose Diner being that I frequently stay at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Arpt-Stadium Area, plus I enjoyed my meal! With that being said, I most definitely recommend this diner if you plan to visit Philadelphia. ~ Be obsessively grateful. ~Thomas G"
"A Breakfast HavenNestled in the heart of West Chester, this charming breakfast spot, should be known for its delightful exquisite assortment of eggs Benedict's. It has quickly become a personal favorite. From the moment you step in, the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon captivates your senses, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of options, but the stars of the show are undoubtedly the French toast bites and eggs benedict. The French toast bites, the perfect breakfast appetizer, had a perfect balance of golden crispness on the outside and pillowy softness within, arrives adorned with a generous dusting of powdered sugar, fresh cut strawberries, blueberries, and a side of luscious cinnamon glaze syrup. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, a comforting embrace for the taste buds.As for the eggs benedict, they are nothing short of a masterpiece. The poached eggs, when pierced, reveal a velvety yolk that cascades over the perfectly seared thick cut scrapple and English muffin, all elegantly draped in a velvety blanket of sausage gravy. The marriage of textures and flavors is a testament to the chef's culinary prowess. The atmosphere is equally enchanting, with sunlight streaming through the windows, casting a warm glow over the cozy, rustic decor. The attentive staff and welcoming Roots team adds to the welcoming ambiance, ensuring that every visit feels like a cherished indulgence.Whether you're craving a sweet, syrup-drenched delight or a savory, indulgent classic, this breakfast spot is a haven for all breakfast enthusiasts. Each visit is a reminder of the beauty found in simplicity, executed with unparalleled finesse."
"11/24/22 Review of Catered Thanksgiving OnlyWe decided to have Thanksgiving cooked for us. Last years debacle- Founding Farmers - I heard was horrendous, expensive and the food was awful- the turkey was tough and chewy from that restaurant. Classic Diner from what I know has catered meals at my company, they've done weddings and many events. This company came highly recommended to my mom from a friend. Classic Diner did not disappoint!!My mom picked up this massive meal from the warehouse in West Chester. The employees helped her load the car as well which was very much appreciated.I would recommend heating the food much longer than the directions say- especially if you order the 20 person meal. The turkey was carved, succulent and delicious, presented nicely browned with rosemary, cranberries and citrus. We ordered the cinnamon sweet potatoes that were so delicious and tasted great with nutmeg infused into the recipe. There may have been walnuts in those- great texture and taste! We ordered delicious whipped potatoes, the green beans with pearl onions (Al dente), the herbed stuffing was really splendid too and my dad's favorite part- the gravy was rich and delicious. I would highly recommend this as an option if you aren't up for cooking the whole Thanksgiving meal! No yucky carcass to pick through and leftovers galore!Excellent and high quality food! Don't hesitate but get your order in early."
"I popped into Revolution House for lunch and loved this spot. They have outdoor seating on the second floor, but for those who get chilled to the bone easily, there's always seating on the first floor. They have plenty of apps, hand-held options, and then some, but I opted for American classics such as French onion soup and a wedge salad. My partner also ordered their fried chicken sandwich and it was a generous piece of fried chicken and they let us get the bacon on the side which I enjoyed. Everything came out quickly, made to order, and was incredibly enjoyable and delicious. No complaints from start to finish, I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a bite to eat with a view."
"Great service and very good food. Really good portions and prices were reasonable. We ordered the Brekky Bowl, Pork Brekky, and chocolate chip pancakes."
"Cheesesteak good and seasoned well. Only down side is the bread is to soft and chewy. The French fries were ok, they get soggy quickly. Mahi mahi taco is delicious and great toppings!!! Drink selection is amazing as well"
"I love me a great sandwich. A farmTo table sandwich shop with reasonable prices? Sign me up! Stockyard is small in size but big on flavor and creativity. As a meat eating mammal, I cannot resist anything "whole pig". The whole pig banh mi features carrot, cabbage, cucumber, jalapeño, something called XO sauce, and of course that whole pig. This is far from the traditional banh mi, not so much due to the meat choice but the fact that the vegetables take a back seat. This is also a soft hoagie style bread instead of the crusty French bread that usually houses a banh mi. Still an enjoyable sandwich nonetheless. To my surprise, the fried potatoes were the highlight of this meal. Tender crispy fried potatoes are simply irresistible. Stockyard definitely has a lot going for it. Worth a try if you are in the area !"
"Hey, Yelp family! Yes, I'm making a review JUST about the bread pudding. I have tell ya'll about our date night at Booker's and this bread pudding situation--it was pure dessert nirvana! Picture yourself snuggling up with spoonfuls of warm, gooey bliss that melts in your mouth. It's as if they bottled up Grandma's secret sauce lol Hi, Grandma! (She doesn't Yelp but gets mad if I don't shout her out anyway)And let me tell you, you can taste the homemade flavor in every bite. I asked and there's defintiely an Auntie in the kitchen making it HAPPEN. I literally thanked her for making my day. What is the best part? The people at Booker's treated us like family. Seriously, their customer service is top-notch.So, the next time you want something cozy and pleasant, stop by Booker's for a taste of their famous bread pudding. You'll be hooked, just like we were!"
"After too many months in SW Florida, I was eager to head north. Today, we (sort of) satisfied my craving for Jewish 'soul food.''Sort of' because the meat was too dry -- an element of fat adds flavor -- it was sliced too thin, and pastrami was almost indistinguishable from corned beef. Remembering the crisp and delicious fries from NYC delis, T and I shared an order. These were a little too soft, and a little too bland. I did however enjoy the pickle bar, and of course a can of Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray.Hymie's is a mainline institution. After hearing accolades, I was happy to finally see for myself. Good, but if you're expecting Katz's, forget it! Btw, a few years ago my daughter brought home blintzes from Hymie's. They were fabulous: cheese-filled, with a fruit compote. Next on the agenda: Hymie's for breakfast."
"We went for Sunday brunch around 11am. We actually called that same morning for a reservation on a very busy weekend and we were surprisingly able to get a table for 8. If you didn't know, this restaurant is attached to a really stylish boutique hotel. It doesn't have its own bathroom. Instead, you have to go to the second floor of the hotel for the restroom which is accessible via elevator or stairs. The host at Square 1682 was extremely friendly as was our waiter. Our party maybe waited 10 mins to sit. I ordered the Wings and Waffles with a side of eggs and Turkey bacon. Those wings?? So good. Crispy and moist with a nice little zing and spice but not overwhelming. You only get 4 wings, but there should be more! And those waffles. Amazing!! They have little sugar crystals inside so each bite is crispy, but soft, warm, and deliciously Sweet. I didn't need to douse it with syrup. I as able to just dip eat bite and have enough flavor and sweetness. Im not from the area but when I return for a visit, ill definitely be coming back for brunch."
