Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and some well-deserved promotions at work and we couldn't have chosen a better place on a lovely Saturday brunch-filled morning. .We arrived and we're escorted to the second floor which opened up to a cozy but at the same time tall ceiling Place filled with art and random exotic plants and happy customers eating delicious food. We ordered a few appetizers which were pretty delicious, but the star of the show for me was their spend on a Nashville hot open face chicken sandwich. It was by far the most delicious chicken sandwich I'd eaten in years. The combination of a thick breaded and buttery crust holding very moist chicken was just incredible. I honestly can't even remember what my side dish was or would it taste like even with pictures because that's how focused I was on the chicken sandwich lol My drink was pretty good but I really enjoyed my wife's drink the most because it had hints of elderflower and some really bitter liquor. That was a great balance. I had their take on carrot cake for dessert which was okay.. It wasn't terrible at all, but I wish the portions were a little bigger. Overall, I cannot wait to spend another Saturday or Sunday brunch at the Love."

Food: Potato pancakes just as good as I remembered and love the apple sauce where my husband prefers the sour cream. Husband got the huge roast beef and loved it! Plenty of meat! They have a beautiful outside section and the indoors is cozy and well decorated. However, last time I went my water was served to me in a dirty cup. There was a lip stick stain on the lip of my cup and I took a sip before I noticed!!! The server seemed unapologetic but replaced the cup (which i obviously still didn't drink from). For the rest of my meal he would come up to us and just stand silently look at us for a bit too long before speaking. Every time he came over it just felt so awkward. "I had my first experience at Winnie's over the weekend and while I think the 3.5 star overall rating is pretty accurate, I needed to bump up to a 4 star thanks to the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Every person we encountered was so kind and welcoming, which goes a long way for me - especially when I have a dog in tow. That's the other amazing part of Winnie's: they go beyond dog friendliness on their patio and even took a photo of Miss. Fred for the dog wall! Winnie's is an amazing vibe for post-hike outdoor lunch or brunch. We were sitting outside on a relatively cool day and had no issue snagging a table at 10am on a Saturday.That being said, my veggie frittata and my boyfriend's lox plate were not great. The lox plate only comes with one bagel option (pumpernickel) and the veggie frittata is just unremarkable. I think I want to try more of their *delectable* options when I return in the future, like eggs benny and the sandwiches - both of which look really good.My coffee? Fantastic and not your standard diner fare. The complimentary cornbread? Sweet, cakey, and just how I like it. Vibes? So good. This place offers an Australian theme which was really cool. The brunch menu was reasonably priced. If dining in, this place is cash only! Venmo is only accepted if food is being picked up. The place has two dining rooms. I didn't realize they had another side until I got up to use the bathroom.The menu definitely has an interesting twist in food selection. For example, I got the Sweet Chili Pork Roll Sandwich which was really delicious. Reminded me only a little bit about going to the Jersey shore. I like how they used foccacia and I liked the crunchiness the hash browns offer. The asian crisp garlic mayo offered a different taste than I am use to with this kind of dish. The chip that came with this dish (sweet potato fries) should not be missed either. The waiter even said how amazing the chips are. The service was great (unlimited, quick coffee service) and I loved the music they played."

There's probably going to be a line whenever you go (and there is a 100% chance of a line on weekend mornings) but don't let that deter you! I tried their BEC for the first time, ordering it ahead and enjoying it on a park bench in the square, a course of action I highly recommend. I started with the lemon ginger honey tea which exceeded my expectations. All the ingredients were FRESH, no tea. For lunch my husband and I shared the brisket tacos and seafood soup. I started with the brisket tacos w/ consommé... I can't believe how good they were. The consommé was so rich and complex, the brisket crispy yet juicy. The seafood soup was made with guajillo and tomato broth served with the perfect crusty bread. I ate it until I could not eat anymore. Atmosphere is welcoming and authentic. The place is byob which was a pleasant surprise when I discovered it. I told my other girlfriends and we ended up having 2 bottles of wine at brunch. The hostess turned out to be the owner and he was quite friendly. He opened our bottles and told us the specials (the place specializes in Dutch food which was quite an experience).The waitress came by and we placed our orders. I ended up getting the Hawaiian Uitsmijter, which was basically a Dutch open faced sandwich. Honestly, the plate was so stuffed it was my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bread I chose was pumpernickel which was soft and tasted so fresh. On top of the bread was ham, pinapple and Gouda with runny eggs. I added some chili pepper since my Indian scents don't like a nonspicy meal (I know, I ruined the Dutch taste). The ham was nice, juicy, and thick. There was a salad and pickle that came on the side.Honestly, my friends and I had such a blast we ended up staying past closing. The staff was friendly for not kicking us out). We ended up getting last call for dessert. All three of us split the Deep Fried Bread Pudding French Toast. It was delicious. It was so thick and the homemade blueberry jam killed the dish."

They have a great crowd pleasing menu that ranges from soups and smoothies to chicken parm and all day breakfast options. One of those great spots when you're not totally sure what you're in the mood for...you can basically let their menu kind of decide for you. I've tried their tuna / chicken salad wraps and also their Moroccan salmon salad, all of which have been excellent. Wraps come with a tasty caesar salad and are an absolute go-to. The team members I've encountered here have always been incredibly friendly. If I lived a bit closer to either location I would be here all the time, but for now I really enjoy grabbing lunch or dinner while in the neighborhood, and would absolutely recommend a stop in to anyone."

It was a bit disappointing because I didn't read too clearly and didn't see that the Portland panini was made with wheat bread. (Instead of the classic ciabatta, focaccia, or baguette) So basically it's a sandwich, not a panini...I added chicken as an extra and the bread came out to be around $15. The "panini" was a bit soggy and almost room temperature when I took my first bite. It was tasty but there was nothing special about it. I liked how they have outlets throughout the shop close to the seats so if you were here to work you can easily charge your electronics. The amount of natural sunlight is welcoming. The staffs were really friendly. This is a cute coffee shop to grab coffee and breakfast to catch up with friends or work. I wouldn't come here and expect to be wow-ed or find anything innovative."

"In spite of having not visited Penrose Diner during the two visits I have had to Philadelphia for the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run; I vowed to visit it during my third trip to the city since it sits right across from the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Arpt-Stadium Area where I typically stay. I must say that I finally realized that Penrose Diner is a hidden gem in South Philadelphia; this classic diner has been around for more than 50 years in Philadelphia which is why I had to visit. And I put off getting in an early morning run, just so I could visit once the diner opened because I have seen how busy it gets! In fact, that is a reason why I was deterred from visiting in the previous years. Once I entered the location, I waited, then proceeded to the bar area for a seat, rather than a booth seat in the dining area. The server, Colleen, did her tasks behind the counter, acknowledging me by asking me if I needed anything to drink and a menu in-between doing her tasks. Once I was ready to order after looking at the menu, I ended up ordering a short stack of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a small orange juice which was presented to me within an acceptable time frame. I enjoyed sitting at the bar because there was a television plastered ahead which gave me something to look at. Prior to taking my first bite of the scrambled eggs, I smirked as Adele 'Hello' played in the background because it is a song I absolutely adore! The scrambled eggs tasted fantastic! And the short stack of pancakes did not disappoint as I knew they would not; there were plenty of syrup containers given to make it taste just the way I like. My only regret with the short stack was that I should have ordered just one pancake rather than the short stack, because I ended up not eating all of it. In-between eating, I could not help but overhear the genuine employee interaction with one of the regular customers. Oh my, these Philadelphian accents, I always look forward to hearing them when I visit Philadelphia because it is a breath of fresh air in comparison to midwestern accents in Chicago.In closing, I am quite positive that I will revisit Penrose Diner being that I frequently stay at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Arpt-Stadium Area, plus I enjoyed my meal! Last years debacle- Founding Farmers - I heard was horrendous, expensive and the food was awful- the turkey was tough and chewy from that restaurant. Classic Diner from what I know has catered meals at my company, they've done weddings and many events. This company came highly recommended to my mom from a friend. Classic Diner did not disappoint!!My mom picked up this massive meal from the warehouse in West Chester. The employees helped her load the car as well which was very much appreciated.I would recommend heating the food much longer than the directions say- especially if you order the 20 person meal.The turkey was carved, succulent and delicious, presented nicely browned with rosemary, cranberries and citrus. We ordered the cinnamon sweet potatoes that were so delicious and tasted great with nutmeg infused into the recipe. There may have been walnuts in those- great texture and taste! We ordered delicious whipped potatoes, the green beans with pearl onions (Al dente), the herbed stuffing was really splendid too and my dad's favorite part- the gravy was rich and delicious. I would highly recommend this as an option if you aren't up for cooking the whole Thanksgiving meal! No yucky carcass to pick through and leftovers galore!Excellent and high quality food! They have outdoor seating on the second floor, but for those who get chilled to the bone easily, there's always seating on the first floor. My partner also ordered their fried chicken sandwich and it was a generous piece of fried chicken and they let us get the bacon on the side which I enjoyed. This is far from the traditional banh mi, not so much due to the meat choice but the fact that the vegetables take a back seat. This is also a soft hoagie style bread instead of the crusty French bread that usually houses a banh mi. Still an enjoyable sandwich nonetheless. To my surprise, the fried potatoes were the highlight of this meal. Tender crispy fried potatoes are simply irresistible. Stockyard definitely has a lot going for it. If you didn't know, this restaurant is attached to a really stylish boutique hotel. It doesn't have its own bathroom. Instead, you have to go to the second floor of the hotel for the restroom which is accessible via elevator or stairs. The host at Square 1682 was extremely friendly as was our waiter. Our party maybe waited 10 mins to sit. I ordered the Wings and Waffles with a side of eggs and Turkey bacon. Those wings?? So good. Crispy and moist with a nice little zing and spice but not overwhelming. You only get 4 wings, but there should be more! And those waffles. Amazing!! They have little sugar crystals inside so each bite is crispy, but soft, warm, and deliciously Sweet. I didn't need to douse it with syrup. I as able to just dip eat bite and have enough flavor and sweetness. Im not from the area but when I return for a visit, ill definitely be coming back for brunch."
