"Came here on a Friday early evening 5pm as we were having dinner with friends. Highly recommend coming at this time as it got packed after we arrived. We got 2 pitchers of margaritas. I ordered the chicken and beef fajitas. We shared the queso and woah! It was delicious!The fajitas I had were okay; large portions so I had leftovers.Service was friendly and quick!"

"Stopped in before Saturday's hockey game and the place was packed.The line moved slow at first but picked up quick. The staff was friendly and killed the rush.I had ordered the combo plate with Carnita and Chipotle chicken tacos at $14.While it's a little pricier than I like to pay for tacos that's everywhere now and not just here.Service was quick and the food was amazing. Definitely a go to when I want tacos in the area."

"This is the perfect example of don't judge a book by the cover!!When you pull up you will be like, "what in the heck is he talking about? This is a dump." Yep it looks like that. It is right next to a "massage parlor" and it looks very sketchy! Inside the venue was clean and ready for business. It wasn't elegant it wasn't outrageous, it wasn't special... it was a local down home joint that felt comfortable.When we walked in we were the only ones there... that is usually a red flag! However it was 2pm and past the lunch rush so we hoped it was not a sign. They brought the usual chips and salsa to the table... it had a little heat. Not too hot but good flavor! Starting off good. The chips were fresh and crunchy not too thin and quite good.We ordered the queso and some guac of which the queso I loved! It was the right consistency, it had a bit of spice and flavor was awesome!Emboldened by the great queso (my wife said the guac was great as well... I just don't like avocado!) we dove into the menu and ordered. I ordered the carne asada tacos and one special taco the waitress recommended (I should have noted the name.) My wife and son had the flautas... chicken and the rest ordered various dishes.The food was out of this world! Stupendous! Fantastic! It was the best Mexican food we have had since leaving Texas! I wish this location was in Atlanta! Everything was fresh. The tacos were real corn tortillas, small and packed with carne... the special taco was loaded with shredded beef, cheese, and had a cream drizzled over the top of it... it was extraordinary! Wow what flavors! They brought out a hot cream sauce which, if used sparingly, was just en fuego! Every bite was a symphony of other worldly tastes. All six of us fell in love... so much so I didn't take any pics of the food. It was all just so gosh darn good I lost myself in the joy of the dishes.The prices were right.. the service was good the food was purely outstanding! Ignore what you see when you pull up and get yourself over here to try out some of the best authentic Mexican food I have had in years! This is one place you have to get to!Truly wonderful!"

"Needed to take a much needed break from the typical Nashville food fare and decided to come here based on some locals' recommendation for authentic Mexican food! The server was super friendly and helpful when answering our questions.We got the birria tacos and a couple of the soft tortilla tacos as well. Everything was really well priced and delicious. The birria tacos came in piping hot and fresh. The quesabirria tacos are crunchy, savory, and packed full of stewed, flavorful, tender beef. The soup/consommé was light and tasted of beef. My friend really liked putting in some lime juice into it and drinking it by itself too when she wanted to lighten up the meal following some heavy tacos. Delicious!!!"

"This food was ahhhhmaaaaazzzziiiinnngggg!!! We shared the Trio Sampler, which consisted of Tortilla chips with Queso, Salsa, and Guacamole. I didn't eat the guacamole, but my friends said it was great! The chips were perfectly seasoned with a great flavor! The salsa was good with a nice kick to it. Not too much of a kick. The queso... OMG!!! That queso was sooo good!! If you mix the salsa and queso together, even better!!! I ordered the Cheesy Chicken, my friends ordered the Enchiladas, and the other dish was some sort of Steak with Elote corn. They loved their entrees, and I loved mine! The flavor was on point! Everything married well together, and nothing seemed to clash in any way. Dessert looks scarce because it was too sooo good!! The Tres Leches cake was good but very coconut based. If you're not big on coconuts, you may not like it. I didn't eat the Chocolate Creme Brulee, but my friends said it tasted like chocolate pudding. The Flan...mmmm!!! It tasted like a dulce de leche cheesecake!! Sooo good!! I'm usually not a fan of flan, but this one will have me coming back for more!! This business says closed, but it's actually open. They just reopened and let me tell you, you want to try this food!! If you do go, ask for Nolan P!! He was our fabulous waiter who provided the best service I've had in a long time!! I'll definitely be back!!"

"We decided to try this restaurant on a whim. We walked in, were seated right away to a booth, which we always prefer. The restaurant was very clean and organized, which seems to be rare in Nashville (smh). The menu was straightforward and the food came out very quickly. The combination fajitas were spectacular, lots of flavor. The combo with the chicken quesadilla and cheese enchilada were very good as well. The waiter was on top of the drink refills. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner!"

"What a great place. Hidden away in a corner of a Lowe's shopping center, it's well worth the effort to find it. Huge menu--lots of choices, and excellent tacos are only the start of it. Very generous servings and reasonable prices. Fresh and well prepared. Well stocked fresh fruit drinks, beer, weekend music. Strong neighborhood feel.For lunch we had the choriqueso--the best in greater Nashville area I have ever had. The salsa is made in house, spicy yes but also smoky, way beyond average. My daughter pronounced the Cuban torta the best ever, marinated meats perfectly cooked, lots of flavor and HUGE. Easily enough for two meals. I had the huevos con chorizo with carne asada--so much goodness for $9.99. Always ask for the homemade corn tortillas--you have to go to the southwest to get better ones.How could this almost perfect place be better--a bit more attentive service. Everyone is friendly but a bit distracted. And I still prefer black beans with pico with my huevos. Here the refried beans are merely average. Soft drinks come in plastic bottles too. The diverse flavors, tastes and languages of Nolensville Road makes it THE street to explore and enjoy. Fogata's at the south end is a must stop."

"Taqueria Azteca is a veritable institution on the west side, and we are no strangers to their home-grown, delicious menu. We had a bit of a wait for a to-go item, but I never mind that: they ran out of one of the meats we were hoping for, but I figured whatever tacos they made would be fresher as a result. (I was right, and we were floored by all the food made for us). It is an absolute requirement for us to get horchata whenever it's offered on the menu, and this visit was no exception. It was the perfect pairing with our al pastor, carnitas, and chorizo tacos. We also indulged in a fantastic torta; they don't skim on the veggies, lime, or salsa here. The salsa roja and salsa verde seemed like they were made in-house and fresh. The spice within them was the perfect amount of heat. There is a sizeable private lot if you're meeting a larger party, and there were several different table sizes ranging from four to eight-ish parties. There are also outdoor picnic table options available when the weather gets cooler.This one is not to miss."

"This is truly a So-Cali style restaurant. we stopped by here on our way into town and enjoyed a great meal. Parking was easy in the shared strip mall lot and you order at the counter. There are 2 halves of the restaurant divided by a wall with plenty of seating. The barn style wall was closed when we were there so we were limited to the left side of the restaurant, where you order from. The staff was friendly and patient.The menu was easy to navigate and had all the good stuff. I got 3 rolled tacos and also 3 carne asada tacos. We also got a large horchata, which was huge and served in the classic white styrofoam cup. The food came out quickly and there was not enough sauce given so I had to get more, which was no problem. The rolled tacos were great and came with lots of guac. I loved that the cheese wasn't fully melted, just like in So Cal! The meat on the tacos was great, but not quite a 100."

I *think* it's Radnor but don't hold me to it. I used to be a neighborhood nerd. Back when this city had more locals/long-term residents, I think neighborhoods mattered more. Now people call anything anything and... excuse me. I have a cloud to shake my fist at. Where were we? Tacos.Yes, I'd passed this stand (you have too) many many times while speeding past on Nolensville. 'Why check out another taco shop when I already have one*?' Because this spot is the truth! At the time I came here, there weren't that many reviews but the ones that were there were fire. So, on a warm early summer Friday evening, I made it a point to get tacos.Parking was a struggle. The lot was unevenly paved and, as people are wont to do, humans straggled all over the place. After hovering for a while, I decided to park and take my chances. I walked up to the counter and, as shacks are wont to do, overly prescriptive customer service wasn't a thing. Order, pay, move to the right. Ordering was a bilingual undertaking but I speak enough Spanish that I wasn't intimidated. Cash is king so pay with paper and keep it moving. The place was moderately busy and only one man was on the grill so it took a little time to get my food. By the time my six (!) tacos were ready, the young guy at the register hooked me up with 'a lot' of green sauce. 'You're going to want it.'I drove home, plated my bounty and got to work. First off, fire! Everything tasted fresh, seasoned, DIFFERENT, and appropriately textured. I ordered the pollo, asada, carnitas, barbacoa, chorizo, and pastor tacos. There wasn't a bad one in the bunch. All quality meat -- and all made even better by that green sauce. He was right: I wanted it on every taco. Hands down, these were some of the best tacos I'd ever had. It makes sense: when you have a green, white and red beacon off of one of the busiest thoroughfares in the metro, you need to have your act together. Five stars. "Hey @NicT, my husband and I were the other couple in the restaurant today. You didn't just say a bad word, you yelled the F word in the middle of a restaurant with children at your table. I know that because you were yelling. Also, why are you concerned what the owner was discussing with us? I had asked him what part of Mexico he's from because my grandmother is from Mexico. He was not doing that to make you notice and he was not loud. Your table was already seated when we entered. It wasn't until you were finished that we heard you complain to anybody about your food. It wasn't loud in there, as it was only your table and ours. So if your food was so as you put it nasty, why did you eat it and then expect to not have to pay? Maybe you should've complained before eating the rest of it.Oh, and we did notice you went straight out to your car to type in your one star review, lol. Maybe you didn't like the food so much because you don't realize that Mexican food depends upon the region. And his cooking style was very much where he is from in Mexico.On the flipside, my husband and I really liked our food. We had wonderful service and a wonderful conversation, about the differences in cuisine and how much I liked the Birria. We discussed that I was from San Antonio. He was NOT contradicting you, he was answering my questions and just chatting. We discussed where they source their meat from and found out. It was a local place that my husband and I go to as well.My husband and I will definitely be back. We had a fabulous meal and enjoyed our food tremendously. I am sorry that you did not. "Great basic Mexican food. Nothing fancy. Not everything needs to be fancy. The beans and rice are good! I like their enchiladas and their tacos authenticos. Good chips and good salsa. I need to try their chorizo cheese dip!Tuesday (is it just Tuesday?) margs are BOGO. My waiter brought me my second one before I was done with the first! House margs are basic. Could be better but I've had worse. 3 tacos, chips and salsa, and 2 margs for $18!"

"We like to go to this place. Certainly there are the value going this restaurant. Nothing is perfect here, but nobody can deny the effort the service crew is providing. They really try hard. The same thing is describing ambiance. It's not fancy, but is welcoming and homey. As I mentioned previously is applying for the food. It's not "wow" but you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. So we will go back anytime we crave for a good food and feel relax and welcoming."

So, California Tacos. CT is one of those examples of Middle Tennessee's expanding food scene. Drive through East Nashville and Madison on Gallatin until you happen upon the large strip mall that houses the small drive-thru. While the menu is larger than you might expect, stay on brand. Get tacos. There will probably be a line when you arrive so use that time to study the menu. Order. Pay (very fair prices considering the product)***. Smile. Prepare to wait an appropriate amount of time for fresh, to-order, well-made food. Get food. Ascertain that there are copious containers of green sauce with said order. Drive home.As I am wont to do, I got an assortment of meats so as to glean the depth and breadth of the taco offerings. Legit. Fire. This is what you want. Not only were all the tacos very well portioned with meat***, all the meats are seasoned, distinct and delicious. You won't wonder what you're eating. I availed myself of the steak, chicken, chorizo, pastor, and carnitas. I probably could have stopped eating with three but I was greedy and it was a Monday in late summer so I needed something to power through my work day. By the end, I was pleasantly stuffed. I might have been painfully stuffed but the intoxicating aroma of what I'd just consumed stayed in the air and reminded me that my discomfort was worth it. "Amazing with Mexican cuisine! The food at El Trompo will leave you stuffed and satisfied -that's what she said! Oh all jokes aside the food at El Trompo really does have flavor and soul. Most recently they added birria & quesibirria tacos on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday only). The tacos IMHO are priced but worth every penny. The ingredients are always fresh and the quality never lacks. The service is always great, my family has been coming here since 2018 and its been great to see them go from a small minimal seating hole in a wall to the expanded seating area and bar Hendersonville staple they are today. The service is consistent and the menu is larger but the quality doesn't change."

"There's nothing better than finding a relaxed Mexican spot to start off your night with a drink, and Las Palmas did just that on our recent visit on a Sunday evening. We ventured in after checking into our nearby hotel for a refreshment, and found the dimly-lit and nicely-spaced bar a great spot for a quiet drink before hitting the town. She settled on a margarita, whereas I had a huge modelo with lime, a perfect respite for the late summer weather."

"Service was excellent, food was tasty and good portions were great! There was live music that evening I went and it was a nice ambiance. Ordered the street tacos- one steak and one chicken. Both were very good, but I preferred the flavor of the steak (and it wasn't gristly at all!). Also ordered the side of rice and beans and it was a generous portion. I've never seen such a lovely and large "side of avocado"! Chips didn't have that lingering oil taste that can happen sometimes. Everything felt fresh. They have outdoor dining too!"

"Every once in a while you stumble upon something and you wonder why you hadn't been there before. Such is the chase with Chile Burrito. I mean, it's not like it's hidden or hard to find, I just hadn't been into the unexpectedly large retail area that it's located in until recently. What I didn't expect to find from its rather unassuming store front was AWESOMENESS.The first thing you notice is color. From the mural on the wall to the streamers hanging from the ceiling to the chairs that are all kinds of colors, Chile Burrito is a festival of colors from the second you walk in the door.The menu is laid out on chalk boards above the food area, hand written in various colors of chalk. The menu options are huge and run the gambit of all of your Mexican favorites from tacos to burritos to quesadillas to bowls, each available with a protein (or two) of your choice. Like other fast casual Mexican eateries, as you go down the line you add the ingredients you want to suite your taste. Some come with an upcharge, some don't. Items that come with an upcharge are listed on the menu board above. It isn't hard or confusing at all. While some reviewers state confusion about how/where to order, I have to wonder why. Have they never been to QDoba? Chipotle? Along with posting a photo of the menu, I've also included a close-up of one particular section of the menu. Consider yourself challenged.My choice was a chicken bowl with cilantro-lime rice, add some fajita veggies and sour cream. A side of chips and salsa, of course, because this meal needs to be well-rounded. One nice thing is the salsa bar, with five different salsas of different varieties and heat levels. I tried all five and found my favorite to the three-pepper Tomatilla d'arbol. Nice flavor, a little smoky, and just enough heat to let you know it's there.My food was great. I don't know what kind of seasoning or marinade they used on the chicken but it was amazingly good and very moist, not dry like some other places. The chips were good but a bit thick for my taste (nothing I'd take any points away for), and worked well with the various flavors of salsa.During my roughly 40 minute visit the dining room and trash were tended to a couple times and the salsa station and drink station wiped down to keep them clean.During my monthly visits to Brentwood I'm always on the lookout for great places to eat. This one just go added to my rotation."
