My son and I decided to create our own "Taste of Houston Tour" for ourselves. We stopped at some recommended places and picked one item from each place to try. We hopped from one place to another and this was one of our stops. At this place, we decided to try the pulled pork, or chopped pork as they worded it. It was extremely flavorful, and we really enjoyed it. Seating area wasn't as big as the other places, but we had no trouble finding a spot. People behind the counter were friendly.

Stop scrolling, this is the BBQ place to go in Houston! I've had BBQ all over the country and this is the best brisket out there. Hands down, best!!!Cool and small bbq joint. Family style tables inside with small bar. You order at the counter. We were lucky to get a couple tables in the A/C inside. They got a nice backyard picnic table area with fans but it was a little warm for our taste. The food, great! The special was chicken thighs but I thought it was probably the only thing I wouldn't order again. It was a little dry. The brisket was an easy 10/10, perfect! The cap melted and it was crazy flavorful. The ribs were solid and the sauce is a little sweet. The sides were good. I preferred the Mac and cheese but the potato salad was great too. It was just a little much with all the meat. Go here, and go here often! I wish I didn't live on the other side of the country.

I didn't want to get up at 6 in the morning and wait in line at one of the other popular BBQ places so I figured I'd give this place a try. We got there a little bit before 11 when it opened and there was a little line but not too bad. The meat was priced by the pound but you can buy any amount you want which was nice. I think we got about a half pound of ribs and 3/4 of pound of brisket. They put it on the scale and ask if it's enough and they will add more if needed. The ribs were fantastic. I think this place beat my previous favorite ribs place in Kansas City. It had a nice Smokey flavor to it, the ribs were tender and flavorful and well seasoned, and the sauce on it was good too. The brisket was also great as well, nice char on the top and great flavor with just the right amount of fat. Wasn't too fatty or too lean, just right. We also got the coleslaw and Mac and cheese as sides and they were decent too. I would return if we were in the area afa

This was our first time at an original Texas BBQ spot. It's was incredible! The Brisket was melt in your mouth and flavorful. Ribs were delicious. Sausage very good. The BBQ sauce was on point. Side dishes portions were plentiful and very tasty. Save room for the amazing and decadent bread pudding, it was out of this world! We will be making Pinkerton our go to place whenever we visit Houston.

Arrived in Houston for the first time and Texas BBQ was our first stop. Went to Pinkerton's based on their reviews and it did not disappoint. Arrived about 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. There was a line out the door but it was constantly moving. The restaurant it's self is pretty small. There is a small inside dining area that is pretty crowded. The outside area is bigger and has more space, but it was pretty hot outside they day we visited. Luckily, we were able to find seating inside. The inside seating at long benches, so you might have to sit with or very close to other families. The BBQ is on point. This was our first time having Texas BBQ, so the only thing I had to compare is BBQ we have had in California, which this place is worlds better. The brisket was full of flavor and melted in your mouth. Pork ribs as expected just fell off the bones. The sides were nothing special, but they all tasted good. The potato salad had a strong mustard taste to it. Price-wise, I think this place is a good value. Our family of 6 spent about $150. Being our first time, we ordered more than we needed and had a lot of leftovers to take home. The staff is fantastic. Everyone was friendly and helpful in how we should order. This was a great way to start our vacation and our first taste of Texas BBQ!

Hands down, one of the best BBQ spots I've tried in Houston. Their brisket is simply amazing - juicy, perfectly fatty, and flavorful. Unlike other places, the fat blends seamlessly with the meat, making each bite heavenly. Service-wise, I'd rate it a 4 out of 5. Arriving around 5:45 PM on a Saturday, it was no surprise that they were already running low on some items as that's pretty common in BBQ joints around Houston. However, there was a slight rush while ordering through the cafeteria-style line. As a first-timer, it would have been nice to ease the ordering process. The picnic-style seating with the food on trays gives the place a true rustic feeling.

Classic Texas BBQ! Line as expected, but moved quickly. Bar had killer Ranch Waters and good beer selections. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Parking plan for street. As far as food, pork ribs very good, excellent fatty brisket, and yes the best Mac and Cheese ever!!! We did order Cole slaw as well but...meh.Will definitely be back!

Needed some real BBQ while we were in town and this place was incredible. We ordered online and did a pickup- which was seamless. We got a lb of brisket which was PERFECTION - tender, great flavor, and fell apart. Ordered a side of bread which is quite literally a loaf of bread and had their Mac n cheese as a side. Everything was well seasoned and prepared. It also came with an entire bottle of bbq sauce. What more can you ask for? Oh wait, they have banana pudding. I would seriously consider moving to the south just to be able to have banana pudding on the regular.

We just did take out, but the brisket was AMAZING! The service was super quick grab and go and we only ordered 15 minutes before we picked up.

Second best southern BBQ I found to date in Texas, or for that matter anywhere else in the US. The first place was in Galvaston. I only tried the prime brisket, but it was perfect. Smokey, succulent, and delectable. If you want the best Texan BBQ experience, try this place. The potato salad was pretty good too. Servings are delivered on a paper lined metal tray as is customary done in these parts of the woods. It comes with slice or two of white bread? Onions and pickles. By the time I arrived in the evening they ran out of pretty much everything but the brisket, so prepare for menu items to be sold out. It is a no frills community-table establishment. There are no white table cloths, or such, you just plop down next to a family and eat. The focus, as it should be, is on the food. Likewise, there are no waiters ir table service. You get your food at the counter. You can have the sandwich but in my opinion you might as well just order the meal. The meat, like in a Brazilian Rodizio, is bought by the pound or a fraction thereof, and you can add any sides on top of that. A large side is about the amount fitting in a flat container. Not to be missed if you like BBQ!
