I just had lavender bubble tea, and it was great! The staff was really friendly. When I asked about caffeine-free options, she offered to make my bubble tea caffeine free. The inside is small and quaint and there were homemade pastries and cookies in the front. They have a large menu so I'll be trying banh-mi next time!

The first time I went, the lack of decor was a sore spot in my experience. That's still true almost a year later, but I guess if you're doing the food and drinks right then you can get away with a drab interior. The mochi waffle had been on my mind ever since I'd visited for a Yelp event last year and I was excited to bring my kiddo to try it too. I got pandan instead of strawberry this time around and ugh it was so good. It was fresh and hot, with perfect waffle pockets of deliciousness with a gooey mochi center layer. I don't usually eat mochi when my littles load up on them at H Mart, but this might make me a convert. I actually had no idea what pandan is but I'm assuming it's green and has coconut lol. What I do know is that it's so yummy and not overly sweet. Although I got there around 1 or 2 in the afternoon, it was my first meal of the day so I also got a teriyaki chicken bành mì to put some real food on my stomach and not just the mochi waffle. The bành mì was delicious, with French bread that was the balanced combination of soft and crunchy, fresh veggies, and tender pieces of well seasoned chicken. I devoured it right there at the table while my kiddo talked about the snowflakes he's earning is his current fav video game. The kumquat and aloe vera fruit tea was the perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. Full of flavor and aloe vera jelly which is quietly becoming my fav addition to my bubble tea.

Long before they were ever part of the Mama Mia brand, they were SmooTea Cafe (#1), a small shop tucked in the far back of Southside Village Plaza. Locally known for their banh mi and tea, they've since upgraded to nuoc mia (#2), mochi waffles, making them a bonafide legit option for a casual Vietnamese fare.I stumbled upon them while looking for Vietnamese iced coffee, which given the lack of Asian options, is no easy feat in a place like West U. Not only did I find a good caphe sua da option here, but some solid banh mi as well. I've had their vermicelli (#3) and spring rolls, which makes for a solid snack in a pinch.I think their drinks are where they really shine. They have an array of sugarcane choices as well as fruit teas. Sugarcane drinks can get pricey but to be fair, they're using a custom machine used for pressing the juice, so there's no denying the freshness. When in doubt, I'm all about the dragonberry and mama mia special. For the fruit teas, the kumquat, strawberry sweet cream, and passion fruit are my usual go-tos.The place can get busy quickly. Since there are so many kid friendly spots nearby, this place can become a zoo during after-school hours. With WiFi, drinks, and plenty of seating, it can be a haven for youngins at certain hours. I'm fine with the crowds, but the parking has been where it's gotten tricky.I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the staff. Usually the owner, Sam, is hard at work and running around, but there's always someone handling money in the front. They're usually young folks, but much better about approaching the counter when folks come in versus their Smootea days. I am appreciative of their efforts and always make it a point to stop by when I can.For anyone on this stretch of Bellaire Blvd, give Mama Mia Fusion a shot. An easy way to get started would be to jump on that 15% check-in offer on the Yelp app. A discounted drink is every reason to come in and try something no one else in the neighborhood is doing.____________(#1) The memories: https://www.yelp.com/biz/smootea-cafe-houston-3?no_redirect=1(#2) Vietnamese style sugar cane juice. The best all season drink.(#2) Or as they say in Viet, "Bun"

I always came here when it was originally known as SmooTea. The new look is very nice! The staff are still super friendly. They still offer banh mi Vietnamese sandwiches and their previous drink menu. The big new items are the sugarcane drinks & waffles. They also still have Asian snacks like Hello Panda & Yan Yan which my daughter always grabs of course. I got the combination banh mi, veggie eggrolls & OG kumquat sugarcane drink. The food was still very yummy. The sugarcane drink isn't overly sweet like you might think when you hear sugarcane. I'll definitely need to return to try more drinks.I love the pandan waffle but it gets sold out alot around 6 pm so try to get there earlier. My daughter always enjoys the strawberry waffle. They recently are offering pandan and taro chiffon cakes. I got the pandan cake and it was very fluffy and light. My go to drink is the lychee peachy green tea 1/2 sweet. There isn't a changing table in the bathrooms and the bathroom itself could use an updated remodeling.Overall, this is one of my fav places to visit near the medical center!

I was introduced to Mama Mia through a Yelp event. That day I had noticed a spicy sour drink on a neighboring table as I was leaving and just had to go back to try it.It turned out to be Mangonada. There was Yelp check in offer which the guy at the counter acknowledged and I got a discount.Mama Mia had tea, smoothies, coconut based drinks and some specialty drinks too, one of which was mangonada. It looked dangerous with a red chilly candied straw in it, but it was delicious, not at all as spicy as it looked. For a cold evening it was great, and the spiced up mango pieces were just soo yummy. The place is small but cute, and swarming with kids coming out of all sorts of classes in that complex. Service is at commendable speed with very polite staff.

A small cafe with yummy food. Staff were super friendly and always smiling. I had the pandan waffle, 100% sugarcane juice, ginger lime sugarcane, and lychee sugarcane. The pandan waffle was chewy and had some shreds of coconut. The pandan flavor wasn't strong but the texture was good. The sugarcane juice was squeezed out from a machine. The juice was fresh and refreshing. This is a must-have in the warm weather. The ginger lime sugarcane juice had subtle ginger and lime tastes. A perfect combination. As for the lychee sugarcane juice, they use real lychee juice to mix in with the sugarcane. Yum. This is a good place to hangout for some snacks and drinks.

Mama Mia, Here I go again...Learned about Mama Mia Fusion from a Yelp Elite Event. The waffles and teas were so good that I had to visit again. The pandan waffles are so delicious. The sweet aroma of the pandan, rich addition of coconut, chewy mochi center and crispy outside texture are the perfect bite. Definitely try this one. The red mango tea with small pieces of mango is so refreshing. Make sure to take a wider straw for the yummy bits of mango. The shopping center is so much easier to navigate on a Sunday afternoon than during the week after school lets out. Parking was open with plenty of spots. Check in for a special 15% grand opening discount. Come on the weekend for a sweet treat.

Ever since I had my first bite of their strawberry mochi waffle during Yelp Elite week, I was hooked. I had to come back again for my strawberry mochi waffle fix. If nothing else, just get this waffle. It's that good, IMO. Just like the first time, my waffle had a slightly crispy outside, and a warm and slightly chewy inside. It had a beautiful aromatic strawberry flavor and it wasn't too sweet. The size of this waffle is generous as well. But, I still won't share this waffle. I want one all to myself. Lol. Please keep this on your regular menu. I forgot to take a picture of my waffle this time around because I was busy devouring it into my mouth. On this particular Wednesday, it wasn't too busy coming here after work. Sam, the owner, was so sweet and hospitable. She'll answer any and all questions about her menu and make recommendations for you as well. My sis and I wanted coffee. So, Sam steered us towards the iced Vietnamese coffee. She was able to accommodate us and make this 50% sweet, which we appreciated. The coffee was strong and not too creamy or sweet. There was adequate seating inside this cafe and bench seating by the window. The interior was simple and clean. Bathroom was well maintained. We ordered a lemongrass chicken vermicelli as takeout going home. The noodles had a good texture and the veggies were fresh. The fish sauce was just right. The chicken was a tad bit dry, though. I still want to try out their tofu and pork vermicelli, traditional combo banh mi, veggie egg rolls, popcorn chicken, and their various other milk and fruit teas. Come and check them out if you're in the area.

This was a great place to sit down and chat! It was pretty quiet even on a Sunday afternoon. I had the mango milk tea with boba and liked the drink, although the tapioca was quite flavourless. The ice was crushed, which I didn't like because the tiny pieces would go up the straw. Cubed ice would be better. My friend got the lavender milk tea, and she wisely said, "I liked it because I could taste the lavender." The walls were barren and could use some decorations, and there were a bunch of large storage boxes inside the cafe, so they should definitely work on the aesthetics. I can see this being a cute cafe if they put a little effort into decor. The staff were very friendly.
