First off, Da Gama should give the busyboys a raise. They were attentive in every aspect of my dinner with my friends. Picking up our dishes right when were done eating and refilling our water even when it's only half full are services that I do not see very often. Therefore, I just wanted to give them a shoutout. For dinner, we got the Mushroom Kulcha and assado de bife. The food was excellent, well seasoned and with unique flavors. The mushroom kulcha was the best. I would come here to try other food again.The ambiance was nice. Waiters were attentive, and it was an atmosphere where one can bring their dates or have a nice meals with their friends/family. It's also located in a very nice area, where one can take a stroll later.

Delicious! One of the best places I've eatenWe got the snapper and mums chicken. I'll post a picture but we had already eaten most Snapper delicious. We went back next night and it was fabulous. Goan Fish Curry..I was worried as I do not like fishy things. NOT FISHY AT ALL. Gunpowder fries are a must. Quality food. Worth the price. Ingredients are FRESH.

My friend and I sat on the patio facing the Heights Trail. I absolutely love the location for the Heights area because it's so centrally located between shepherd and Yale that walking is possibly for those that live here. Houston needs more of this. The food was fantastic. When they ask if you want spicy, get it, trust me. It added a nice kick that didn't melt my intestines and dissolve my tongue. Portuguese and Indian fusion goes together so well. Perfect flavor. I'm a cheese person so I had paneer and goat cheese (separate dishes) and they were tasty, the perfect temperature when served, and a good portion to share. And not like a 40lb plate where sharing is recommended. These were small plates but sharing allowed me to not waddle out of there. I recommend this place.

Great atmosphere and friendly service! I feel like the curry could have had a little more flavor. The drinks were tasty and unique, definitely not your common cocktails. It gets a little loud on the inside so maybe sit outside if you want a conversation.

Really cute date night spot. This place has a nice elegant flare to it. Getting a reservation is highly recommended. Bar seating and outdoor seating are also available. The outdoor area is right by a small park and really nice to eat on a warm day. Lots of options available. Some Portuguese influence with their selection of port wines which is unique within this Indian style restaurant. If you have dietary restrictions such as gluten free, they have a separate menu but you need to ask for it. The main menu does clearly label vegan and vegetarian options. I'd recommend getting a few items to share as it is encouraged to eat family style. I tried the chili tofu and chana masala. Both were delicious.

I have never had a bad meal at Da Gama. In fact, it's one of my go-to places when guests are in town, because the menu is unique, the flavors are flawless, and the atmosphere is inviting. This last time we went, 2 out of the 3 of us opted for the Restaurant Week menu, which was also a great price and a LOT of food! My husband opted for an appetizer and main meal, and yours truly was hungry and went for all 3 courses...which I wasn't able to finish. So, my eyes convinced me that I could eat more than I could. Two of us opted for seasonal refreshments, and they went amazingly well with our food too! I'm not sure how they keep their menu, flavors, and appeal so top-notch, but this place warrants repeat-visits. Definitely one of my faves in Houston - will be back!

Service was immediate! The restaurant looks beautiful and is in a gorgeous part of Houston. I think the food was incredibly flavorful, but presentation was great, I do think I was expecting more creativity with the dishes. It was still a good time I would say overall!

They have bar seating and an outdoor area right by a park, perfect for a balmy evening. The menu is diverse, featuring both Indian and Portuguese influences. Don't miss their unique port wine selection. If you have dietary restrictions, they can accommodate you with their separate gluten-free menu (just ask). The main menu clearly labels vegan and vegetarian options. I'd recommend ordering several dishes to share family-style. I personally enjoyed the chili tofu and chana masala - both were packed with flavor.

Food is always good here. So far after numerous times here we don't have any complaints on that. We had the lamb this time but it was poor quality, mostly fat and no meat. That should be reconsidered from the chefThe service is a bit downgrade and could have improved. We have to look for our server many times to order more food or getting our check.
