Danny L. "There's quirky charm to this place. Something about the ripped bench seating, run-down arcade machines, and dark unattended salsa station gives it a unique vibe. Despite the somewhat warm room temperature on a summer night, this place seems like a fun hang out place for the locals, especially with a bar that serves frozen margaritas. We just came here to try the food and hang out with some new friends.Food is ordered up front and then brought out to you. Drinks, salsa, and condiments are all self serve. I ordered the "Huge" seafood burrito for a moderate price of about $15 (July 2023). The burrito was a decent size, but was mostly filled with rice with 2 (maybe 3) pieces of shrimp and some fish. It was good, but I'll try something else if I ever come back. The complimentary chips were a bit stale, but it's complimentary. The service was disappointing, even after tipping a good amount. When asking for a to-go container, the person behind the counter was already in a sour mood. She unwillingly handed us one container. When we asked for a second, it came with an unpleasant attitude. I preferred if they had the to-go containers as self-serve to avoid the interaction. The salsa station offers jalapeños, red salsa, and pickled carrots. Love it. With that said, I question if any excess drippings fell back into the serving bowl from anyone's fingers because accidents happen when filling small plastic cups with large ladles. Is it still worth it? Worth it!Overall, I wouldn't choose this as my first choice of Tex-mex, especially because there are so many other options just miles down (Gringos, Lupe, El Tiempo [though expensive], and those smaller mom and pop shops). I truly wish I could love this place because it a local thing, but I'm not a fan of the service, atmosphere, or food. Maybe next visit would be better."

Tracey L. "Salata isn't only the best salad bar I have ever been to; it paid off. So I had that 12 extra pounds left from when the world shut down, and I couldn't seem to lose it. Well, I lost it by coming here about three times a week. I like to say it was easy because of the variety of salads I had to choose from, allowing me not to get bored. So, you have the mixture of greens, an assortment of veggies, not your norm veggies, more than the go-to veggies, a selection of bread, then your protein, which would be chicken, shrimp, or salmon. Oh, another thing I liked too: once your veggies, salad, protein, and dressing are in the bowl, the staff mixes everything together. Also, I like the green and white decor; it is so bright and calming. And it seemed like most of the people coming in for lunch were on the same journey as me. One lady told me to do half and half for soda, like half soda and half water. Great tip"

Canny F. "Ordered customized salads online and picked up shortly. Absolutely loved the multigrain croissant. Completely amazed by the texture and flavor. As for the salad, it's $9 for a regular side salad, $3 for chicken and $1 for avocado. Not too shabby. Downside was the chicken was so salty. Granted it could've been all the other side toppings with the chicken that made the salt flavor enhanced. I didn't use dressing bc I rarely do. I ended up adding more greens to dilute the salty aspect of it. Besides the salt, I'll probably be back again due to limited salad places nearby."

Chantel C. "Craving something light and refreshing for lunch, so I stopped in for a build your own salad. There are so many fresh toppings and protein options. I got so many toppings I almost forgot I had lettuce. I always go with the shrimp and avocado. Those cost extra, but they're worth it. I don't have the rewards program, but Eddie checked me out and let me know all the benefits, and he made the checkout seamless. I was in a time crunch this visit, but next time, I hope to enjoy the patio, weather permitting."

"Let's begin with a Raplata for Salata.I like to sing fast songs but my fans love the BALLADI like to log in but my password's INVALIDI'm walking in the air with a Snowman like ALEDAnd I like to go to Salata when I want SALADFresh greens are something for which we RALLIEDAnd I like to worship Barbie if you'll let me be CANDIDAnything she wants especially a tossed SALADBut she would never want me if I looked like DJ KHALEDI wonder if my parking pass is still VALIDI wonder if my voice could ever sound like KHALIDI wonder why my d*** just got rock SOLIDBut I love Salata when it comes to SALADThe salad itself was maybe three or four stars as opposed to the five star salads in some of the best locations, and the portion size was about four stars, although it wasn't huge which would lead to 5.Their croissant is amazing too, not healthy but omg, that whole wheat croissant is worth the price of admission alone, and you get one free with your salad. Oh, and the best dressing is the Lemon one, but a lot of people like Fresh Herb. It's a lovely large location with a little room in the back as well, so there's plenty of places to sit and eat. It's definitely one of the better locations that we have been to, and it's part of the super fancy mall and pretty gorgeous outside in a modern "shopping village" way.The better locations are Weslayan (#1 fave, the best employees and biggest salads!), Gray (some great employees, good salad) and I-10 next to Energy Corridor/Hwy 6 (great ingredients, #2 fav!).However, I had to increase the rating because a couple of the employees were really friendly, although one of them a little bit less so.The reason I rounded up from four to five stars is because of the girl that was here that recognized me from Yelp. She was so excited and happy and extraordinarily lovely to us. She was thrilled that the person who reviews all the salad places had come in.I'm usually told that I'm the person that reviews all the boba places, but salad is more healthy so it's nice to be associated with that as well. She is the reason I will definitely be back to this location. And let's finish with more rap:Finding good food is hard, finding good salad is HARDERSometimes you pay a high price, some times you have to BARTERSometime Barbie comes here in fencenets, sometimes in a GARTERBut if you want a wonderful Salad, go to SALATANow I have to go, so I'll Salata Alligator."

Brandi K. "Fantastic! This little build-your-own-salad bar is right below the hotel I'm staying in this weekend for a conference. Stopped off during a quick lunch hour because I am a big fan of a massive loaded salad. You can choose between a small (which is a generous portion) or a regular (which is massive), pick your greens of which there are 6 options, then all the toppings. Like, literally ALL the toppings you can imagine. There are no limitations. Yes, you do have to pay extra for protein, but they plop on a decent amount. The bacon is free and pretty sure I got like half a pound in my salad. No complaints! Many dressing options and they toss it for you or put the dressing on the side. I forgot to take a photo before I started my snarf sesh, but you get the idea. Fresh, tasty, fast, and affordable!"

Juan Pablo S. "The salads are awesome. Build as you go sinilar a Chipotle or Subway but can be much healthier. The large bowls are big enough for 2 people. You spend about $10-$12 per person depending if you get drinks or the types of add ons you get on the salad. The place is big enough to get a table even at busy hours. The staff is bilingual (Spanish). Try the juices, they're awesome."

Mike G. "It's like your regular Salata everywhere you go. It's a lot of salad with a lot of toppings for not much money. Toppings were all fairly fresh. Basil chicken was just kind of meh tasting as it seemed like it had been sitting in a cooler for around a month. I'd probably eat here again just because it's a salad bar that doesn't nickel and dime you for each topping you add."

Angee A. "I've been hearing good things about this place so I decided to stop by and get some stuff for my family. Omg y'all. The food is so good. The dishes I ordered were a hamburger for myself and a chicken kebob plate and jerk chicken plate. Everything was top notch. The burger I got with just cheese and sauce. Sooo good. The sauce is a little sweet and reminds me of the sauce on the hot and spicy burger that Whataburger has sometimes. While I waited the owner gave me some rice and jerk chicken to taste. I wish I had gotten an order for myself! The chicken was perfectly spicy and juicy. The rice was great too. Whew I'm definitely coming back here to try the wings and Philly cheesesteak. This is strictly a takeout place as it's in the gas station. You may have to wait a little bit for the food to be prepared, but trust, it's worth the wait. The owner is vey nice and friendly and best of all the meat is halal. Run, don't walk."
