"The Colectivo has tons of seating and a great ambiance. I would say the drip coffee is just OK, but the coffee drinks are good! The burritos are good, the bowl not so much. My one gripe is that the internet doesn't seem reliable (sometimes it's spotty, sometimes not working at all). It's a shame because I really get in the zone when I work there!"
"I was having a bad day and so I stopped in here for a snack to pick myself up and it really worked. I got an horchata, beef empanada, chicken empanada, and a pastelillo with guava and cheese and everything was delicious and five stars. The horchata is so refreshing and good and both empanadas were great, but if I had to pick a favorite, I'd say chicken. The pastelillo was so wonderful and the guava cheese combo really is top tier. The service was also great - the woman behind the counter was so nice and warm and good vibes, and the whole experience was the highlight of my day. I'd definitely be back again to get all the things I ordered again and/or try their Cubano."
A delicate blend of coconut milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Topped with shredded coconunt and served with homemade vanilla rum syrup.

So it's been tough to get a decent Cubano or Vieja Ropa samwich. I'm also a big fan of the Philly cheese steak, I love beef and cheese and onions and peppers, etc. so when I saw that Bia's has both sandwiches, along with credible reviews and ratings, I said to myself, "Get yourself over there and get some pronto." There's plenty of pahking on Addison St., fyi. Inside, there are a few tables and there's a long table along the wall, where you can grab a stool and have your meal. You order upfront and they'll bring your food to you. I'm really into protein so I got double meat on both sandwiches. The Cubano comes with roasted ham and ham slices, along with cheese and mustard. The steak sandwich is really where it's at - so tasty and flavored just right. Between the two - the steak sandwich reigns supreme. The empanadas were a little underwhelming but at least I gave them a shot. I believe it's byob, not 100 percent sure though, fact check before you bring your Schlitz. Hope to be back asap and go Cubbies!!"
"Warm and inviting cafe in Humboldt Park with excellent coffee and bomb vegan donuts! We live in the neighborhood and were excited to check out Café Calidá. There's nothing like it in the neighborhood, our options are either very expensive drip coffee or Dunkin Donuts so this cafe is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of the coffee. When you walk in there's the coffee bar and then a large open space in back with plenty of seating for hanging out or working. I tried the cafe con leche and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The ube donut was also SO GOOD and vegan! Even if you're not vegan, it was better than a regular donut. They also had a lot of other flavors like maple, horchata and chocolate. If you're not a coffee lover they also have matcha and chai lattes! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood!"
"Jazz hands! Well, I hope not, anyway. Jazz Cafe is a Russian restaurant which probably shouldn't be called a cafe much more than Mistiko or LaMirage. If you plan on coming here, I'd definitely advise to consider going with someone who is familiar with Russian cuisine and/or can read Russian. Let me start by saying that the tea was great, and the food was.....decent. I mean I understand that blintzes are apparently a Russian cuisine, but that doesn't necessarily translate to amazing cuisine. All in all, it's a nice place to go and a place worth checking out the food. I always dig some good blintzes."
"This was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived around 10:30 and did not have to wait to be seated on a Saturday morning. However, it did fill right up after being seated. Everything on the menu looked amazing and I'll definitely be back to try everything else. The guava nectar was too good! The caribella skilled was good, but could've used some hot sauce of some sort- I did like how they used plantains instead of potatoes. The protein lovers skillet was packed full of several proteins and veggies! The pancakes were okay in my opinion, fluffy but not very flavorful. The wait for food was not too long, but a bit longer due to the space being full of customers. The prices are very affordable too! I would definitely recommend this spot and will be back!"
"Amazing, delicious Guatemalan food. I came in right before a lunch rush and before long this "hole in the wall" was filled with families and local patrons."
"I was lucky enough to come with four people and have a feast. Unluckily, I was traveling alone when I was in Georgia back in 2018, and was never really able to eat in my favorite manner, which is to graze from a tableful of dishes at once. Chicago Diplomat gave me back what could have been. Because really, since I left Georgia, I haven't found that many restaurants that do it justice. This did.First and foremost, you gotta have the big, crazy-rich, unfinishable bread boat (adjeruli khachapuri). I would say that this one landed on a cheesier (rather than butterier) side and the cheese was stretchy like a pizza, not crumbly like a feta.I could have taken or left the beet salad - it seemed like it was just beets out of a can covered in a metric ton of cilantro - but their version of eggplant/walnut salad (also covered in a metric ton of cilantro but I think it worked better here) was really good, not dry like it can easily be.The real stars of the show were the two stews: lobio and chakapuli. The chakapuli was impossibly rich, stuffed with lamb meat, overgrown with tarragon, and this strange part-meat-part-fat-part-oil-part-soup texture that would have been perfect with dipping bread had a) it come with it and b) we been able to fit any more food in our stomachs. The lobio was bacon-heavy and tasted like it, but it was herby enough to not weigh you down. This I ate leftover with a roll of paratha, which worked very well.We finished the meal with honey cake and another pastry I can't remember the name of, neither of which I initially had any interest in because I'm not much of a bread heavy dessert person, and also, see above re: not being able to fit any more bread in. But some of us ordered it anyway and I ended up eating three slices of the honey cake because of the grainy, sprout-y heartiness and the sweetness of the layers of honey."
"After eating breakfast nearby, I hopped on Yelp to find a coffee shop to grab a latte at before walking around the city a bit. Dollop Coffee seems to be located in an apartment building and has a small patio outside. I ordered my go-to, an oat latte. It's a small space inside, I wouldn't recommend this spot for working or studying as it seems like more of a grab and go type vibe. There's a nice fancy lounge area adjacent to the shop but I couldn't tell if it was part of the apartment building itself. My latte was put together quickly, but I was definitely taken aback by the tiny size, especially for $6. By far the most expensive latte I had in all of Chicago. The drink itself was fine, but I would skip this place next time."
"Went back after a rather long time twice in 3 weeks and I will only talk about what is famous at Milk & Honey Cafe. They're absolutely delicious, freshly made bakery items and fantastic coffee. The seasonal bakes never fail to impress me and this time it was an Espresso Chocolate chip scone! Could it get any better?!!! Sigh! I truly savored every crunch and bite and could eat more than 1 scone - it was that good! Customer service is always stellar and quick, though they are so busy. Beautiful outdoor area in good weather and such a modern fashionable crowd! Totally still love the spot!!!"
"Yum! This little place is serving up some very tasty grub. The Shrimp Po' Mi, a kind of fusiony po boy, was calling my name; I chose the grilled shrimp and, with the Asian slaw and chipotle mayo, it all came together nicely. I would get that sammie again. We shared the sweet potato fries, and those were great too. I don't usually like stuff on my fries, but the sauce, cheese and scallions really did enhance these crispy morsels. I tried a bite of my husband's guajillo pork bahn mi, and that is something I would order. Everything I ate was really good, maybe cravably so. This place has a great menu, with soups, rice bowls, sandwiches and salads to choose from. I'll most definitely return."

This Blackberry Cream Matcha Latte is delish! Not too sweet and pretty good on the nose with floral notes. I love it. It was prepared fast with pleasant service. I also appreciated their big yet cozy seating area with plenty of tables. It's very bright and airy too with plenty of indoor plants. Loved getting some work done here.

This place opens until super late, so I wanted to try it out. I got the media noche and my boyfriend got the steak quesadillas. We also shared a guava and cheese puff pastry. The steak quesadillas were top tier, although at $15 I thought the price was a little steep. My media noche sandwich didn't look like the pictures I had seen. It wasn't grilled, but looked more pan seared? Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the sandwich. It was almost mushy in texture and I was expecting a more crispy/hard bread. However, just because I'm not a fan of the sandwich doesn't mean this place deserves less than 5/5. Everything else was good and the service was very nice. I would come back just for the puff pastry. It was SO YUMMY! You also get free chips and dip with your order.

Great coffee, if ethnic style sweetened speaks to you. Good Cuban sandwiches & more are tasty & can hit the spot. Two bummers: their homemade BBQ sauce is not available till later morning and parking is unavailable out front. But since the Metra construction is still not complete, if you can walk a lil' you'll find some on the corner. Wish they had an area of the street held just for them or with a temporary 20 min zone. There are more than one Cuban sandwich joints in Chicago. It's worth it to try them all. Better hours in da Chi.

Really good quality food. They have a good verity of Ukranian/Russian food. The place is cozy and the staff is nice. The place is small, make reservations. They also host many bigger events.

My friends and I went here because one of us lives by here and I'd been eyeing this place for a while. I am so glad we got here for brunch - we got there around 12:30pm on a weekend and was happy to be immediately seated despite being a group of 5. We went at a great time too because by the time we left every table was taken and a few folks were waiting. I definitely love to see this neighborhood spot thriving and the place is cute - natural light and beach paintings.Food - I got the sorullitos and coquito french toast. Everybody Loved the sorullitos including myself and they are personally some of the best I've had in the city but I've only had them a handful of times. Even my friends who don't like corn dough and corn batter (think corn dogs for example) really enjoyed eating this, including a picky vegetarian. I would absolutely go back here and order the sorullitos again. The coquito french toast was also yummy - sweet but not overwhelmingly so.We got a kids order of guava pancakes to share and that was the perfect amount. I'm not sure if I'd go with sweet mains next time. My friends got the Caribbean chicken skillet, breakfast burger, and the Caribella skillet. They liked what they got and I also thought the Caribbean chicken skillet was yummy.

We stopped by for a lunch a couple of days ago while visiting Chicago, and I already miss their food!!! Everything I tried was delicious, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. I ordered a chicken tostada, the gringa that I am, and it was just a piece of art. I loved the atmosphere of the place - everybody was very friendly and welcoming. My friend is a native Guatemalan. She tried several dishes and said that the food tastes very authentic. To sum it up, Cafe Antigua is a very simple place with simply delicious food!

Just exotic and different in an authentically wonderful way. Georgian food (without the peaches and the pecan pie). Lovely dining room and friendly peeps usher you in to a world of tasty and worthwhile treats. So much excellence to be had here. The cold appetizer plate is a must, as is the bread and cheese dough creation. Your correspondent obviously doesn't know a lot about food from the country of Georgia, but enjoyed his introductory studies a great deal. You will, too.
Visit Restaurant Page"I grew up in Queens, NY and worked in deli's growing up. In NYC and Long Island people will refuse cold cuts that aren't boars head in my experience. They originally from Brooklyn, NY. I mean they're consistent good quality and they have premium products. Usually prosciutto and certain cheese I prefer imported. So we received a large order from my office. I had the beef wrap and it was tasty. Thin sliced, nice balance of veggies, protein and sauce. We order from them regularly. Gotta make sure I grab one of their boxes again."
"Our crepes were delicious! We had a party of four and ordered two dessert crepes. Service was not speedy but honestly it gave us a chance to relax and chat. And it was worth the wait. The crepes were fantastic and the cook / server was pleasant. The cleaner they use has a strong scent, but it is not bleach nor is it Pine-Sol scented either, thankfully. The shop is small and has no bathroom. We would visit again to try other flavors."
"What an interesting spot out in West Town.A friend and I wandered in one afternoon to grab a coffee. We dd not expect to see a bakery and full bar that also served actual meals. One guy at the bar was eating a giant burger that looked fantastic. The bakery case in the back was filled with beautiful sweets. There was also a croissant case at the front. We tried pistachio cookies and a plain croissant. They were both delicious. We took everything to go after chatting it up with the manager Andre. On my next visit, I brought a different friend. This time we sat at the bar to enjoy our sweets and coffee. Everything was just as tasty this time around.Andre was working again that day and was just as charming with his beautiful Italian accent. At Dolci Amori, we would expect nothing less. We each picked out something different and Andre split them between us on our little plates as if he knew we would be sharing. It was a sweet touch.I plan on being a regular at this location, even though I live near the Gold Coast spot. I love the cool modern vibe that the West Town neighborhood is known for, coupled with the warm hospitality that Andre offers."
"When I'm back in Chicago... D2 and I were staying downtown for a volleyball tournament and this came highly rated from a friend. It was a short walk from our hotel and so conveniently located if you're in the Magnificent Mile area.We were greeted and seated promptly. We shared the calamari fritti and it was delicious. She had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and she said it's the best she's ever eaten. I had the gnocchi a la bolognese and it was delicious. It was so much food that we had to bring our leftovers home with us. We even went back 2 nighs later, it was THAT yummy to us. Second time around we shared the steak and frittes and the margarita pizza. Again so yummy. It can get loud inside. Tables are close to each other. But I would still go back for all the yummy food."
"Another good place for coffee. Dollop is a small cafe along Dearborn. It mainly has coffee drinks but there's also bagels and pastries. Fairly okay prices considering the location and how they would be able to take advantage of office workers looking for something convenient in the morning. The inside has some comfortable couches and a few outlets. It has a good choice of drinks. Many things to get any time of the year, chilled and hot. There's often a seasonal menu along with their regular stuff. Coffee here seems like it's epic. This gives a pretty big jolt so maybe think again if you're ordering a large. Last time here it was pretty warm so I got a cold brew. They had some seasonal specials. I had a Babe On Rocks. It's $5 for the regular size. This is a cold brew with oat milk and spice. Among the food here are bagels and donuts. There's not a whole lot to choose from. I usually get a bagel. It's $3.25 for most. They have a pretty limited selection of toppings. Butter, cream cheese, and jelly. The bagel selection is pretty small too. Clearly they're more focused on brewing coffee. It has some things to eat but nothing that makes a meal. The good thing is the coffee is the best around so they know what works."
"Growing up in New York I learned to love Puerto Rican food. This place is great. I can eat their Lechon breakfast lunch or dinner. Folks that work there are great and portions are ridiculously large."
"I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem that combines my favorite things - a cute cafe in an apothecary store. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed with an apothecary with the modern appeal of a trendy café.I went there for a late brunch with a friend. And we ordered Avocado toast, Bangkok bowl, Cappuccino and Chaider tea. The tea has apple cider (which is quite healthy) but a bit too sweet for our taste and it was a part of a special menu. The star of the show, of course, is the Bangkok bowl. Even though on the menu it says SPICY. It wasn't spicy. Everything blended togther so well and nothing was overpowering. The chunky peanuts were adding it to the flavor. It was served with lime wedge which we didn't need to use as it was perfectly flavorful already. I can't help but sing praises for their avocado toast. The toast is perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of crunch, and the avocado spread is generously creamy, and they used the most perfectly ripen avocados. It was a bit on the expensive side as the cost was $20.95.But what truly sets this place apart is the apothecary element. The store boasts a wide range of herbs, teas, candles, skincare, stationary, and wellness products. Might add some therapeutic dimension to your visit. The service was overall satisfactory, with an attentive staff. Overall I will recommend The Lunchroom. Whether you're seeking a delicious brunch or natural remedies to enhance your well-being, this place offers the best of both worlds."
"Vegan Panini with hummus, eggplant, sun dried tomatoes & arugula is soooooo good! They always have a vegan soup of the day and really good dirty chai lattes. This place has been open for over 15 years. There's a reason why. They're consistent with food quality and customer service. It also helps they open early and close late."
"It's my first time here. They recently opened up and I remember seeing the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce promote their ribbon cutting. The staff here are friendly and efficient. I tried their roasted oolong milk tea -- their drinks come in one size and this drink didn't include boba. I added tapioca as a topping, and they didn't have pudding. When you ask for no sugar it's literally no sugar which I appreciate. I also like how I can see what they're keying in for me at the counter, and there's also a kiosk for self ordering. The ambiance is really cute and spacious. I can see myself studying there if I was still a student. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for boba, and they even sell street food like popcorn chicken. I'd totally come back to check out other items on their menu, and they also gave me a punch card."
"My bud and I went to Copacubana Cafe the other day for a casual Cuban dinner. Copacubana Cafe is located at the corner of Irving Park and Menard and has its own parking lot. You have to order your food at the counter first, and they will then bring your food to your table. Overall the food was pretty tasty. My jibarito with pork, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and very fresh-tasting tomato slices was served as two mini-sandwiches. My bud polished off his plate of fricase de pollo - a heaping order of chicken seasoned in tomato sauce and served with yellow rice. We also split a couple of appetizers. The pastellito (meat pastry) with ground beef looked like a biscuit but was delicately flaky. The papa rellena with ground beef came out piping hot. The kind owner also gave us complimentary sips of sweet Cuban coffee."
"We came here Saturday morning for some coffee and it did not disappoint. I ordered the s'mores latte which was delicious and the rest of the group ordered the snickerdoodle latte which was also tasty but not too sweet. The shop is small but we were able to find a table right in the middle for our group of four."
"Cute little shop!I was greeted with a warm welcome as soon as I walked in the door. Both staff working were super friendly. I had a cold brew coffee, and it was tasty. I loved the sunlight coming through the front windows. Awesome artwork inside. Give them a try vs all the chains down Archer Ave!"
"What a lovely little spot! I was actually there for coffee and coworking this morning, meeting up with a couple of local colleagues. During the day, the bar side is a coffee shop with your typical array of coffee, espresso, tea and so on, as well as pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Coffee was great, service was good, wifi was fast, and it's a great place to meet up with a friend if you're in the neighborhood."
"Was a little taken aback at first with the price of the fries but it turns out it can feed two people comfortably - not to mention that it was delicious and flavorful. The staff was friendly and told us where to pick up our food as we opted to seat ourselves on a high top. There's plenty of seating around their area of the riverwalk though for full service. A nice little respite through a hot summer walk in along the river!"
"Great coffee shop with desserts! Old world style with fabulous recipes and good service! While seating is limited, it is very quaint. Cheesecakes are European style which are less sweet and dense. Small bite cookies are delicious. Custards, crème brûlées choices are numerous and good!"
"I'm so happy a randomly found this place. Not something to eat every day, but as a treat, their buns are amazing. I got a savory pork one and after devouring it ended up getting two more sweat buns to-go. I also got a mango smoothie, which was fine but nothing special."
"Love the "cozy" feel to the cafe. Inside had great decoration for the holidays and the service was very welcoming and friendly. I had the Strawberry and Milk waffle which was amazing."
"We went on a Sunday afternoon and they were quite packed! Luckily we were able to find a table for 2. We ordered at the counter, paid, and received a number to put on a table. They warned us that the kitchen was backed up and it could easily take at least 20 min for us to receive our order. It wound up taking only about 10 min. The kata club is great. I love butternut squash and it's not your typical vegan sandwich but I didn't find anything lacking about this minus maybe including a side? The price was only for the sandwich, no sides which was a little steep to me at over $10 when this place has no special vibe and almost has a sterile look. However, still giving a 5 star rating since the food was really good. My bf loved the breakfast sandwich but it was smaller than what he was expecting for the price. Would he still get it again though? Absolutely."
"Definitely go here. This is my favorite coffee spot i've been to in Chicago. The inside is super cute and cozy, and the place is just a breath of fresh air. Service was quick and everyone was very kind. I had the horchata latte and it was my favorite coffee I've had. The food was all interesting and different options. I had the date truffle and it was incredible. I'll def. go back!!"
"I loved my breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. The potato's were good also . There were many things on the menu that looked good! It was a very busy place. It is a family type friend gathering Resturant with tables and booths . I will try it again in the future"
"Great coffee and fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend this place! Friendly service."
"Friendly staff! They have both inside and outside seating. Their pancakes were nice. A little sweet. Coffee was excellent too. They have small parking lot but plenty of spots."
"Pretty cool that this location is steps away from my bank. So why not drop in for a sip and a bite. I ordered the chai tea and it had the perfect amount of heat and spice. My lavender donut well, it was nice and light. Not at all overpowering. The blueish color on the inside was a nice surprise. Can't wait to go back and try the cinnamon honey latte."
