Nice looking restaurant with good silverware and food that is colorful and well-plated. However, food is fairly pricey, cooking time is a bit long, food takes a while to be served (even items high in moisture were only some-what warm when they reached our table), and flavors are bland. Here are my thoughts on the items I tried:Pot of tea: Looks nice with a blossoming flower, however the flavor of the tea is extremely light.Baked basa fillet: Tender and juicy. Was seasoned alright but portion size was very smallMeat blintzes: Meat was very bland and the texture wasn't great. The crepe itself was very generic in flavor and didn't have much elasticity or chewiness to it.Hungarian Goulash: Meat was tender with a very light sauce and served with lightly seasoned rice. Shrimp scampi: Buttery and slightly sweet, but not much else in terms of flavor. Portion size was also small for the price charged.Siberian Pelmeni: The dumpling skin was alright and the meat filling was a bit bland. Didn't seem too different from grocery store items.Overall, the food is presented nicely but the actual flavors, texture, and experience is underwhelming. For its price, I didn't find it to be a good value -- but maybe the majority of the business is for wedding banquets and birthdays rather than small group dining.

Service level- first day at workFood quality- everything tasted freshFood taste - Chicken soup was tasteless, feels like they put chicken dumplings only before serving , which is wrong way to cook this type of soup , 1 star !Meat blinetz they were really good . I recommend to try . Last thing , people who owns these place , please teach you servers what they have to bring food step by step , because I had hot buns on my table as soon as I came in , which is looks nice but by the time I finished ordering they were hard as rock because they microwave them or something . And than I received my soup and blinetzs at the same time again , and when I finished my soup with hard Bread , they were cold, by that point I was about to leave . But taste of them make me calm and stay . PS , there is no good European restaurant around, you people have such a great opportunity to make your business perfect and better than the other ones , you just need a good Manager and some improvements and Evers I'll be perfect !

I just recently found out that Jazz Cafe is a russian restaurant. I had been passing it many times throughout my driving trips, and thought it was either an american-styled bar or lounge. Yeah, i guess if the name isn't as obvious as "Boris's Hot and Happenin' Katletki and Borsch", I won't bother to ponder if the restaurant 's style and menu pertains to a specific culture. On a day in which i felt particularly more russian than i usually do on most days, i decided to come here with my boyfriend for some lunch. This place also got really great reviews and this devotchka wanted to see what all the hype was about. We arrived at noon and walked into a pretty empty restaurant. There was one woman eating in very middle, and no server to be found. Within a few minutes, The server came out and seated us. The place was really cute. White tablecloths, small tables, lots of sunshine in the restaurant. I ordered their homemade fruit kampot (punch), and it was amazing. It tasted like fresh berries, and i usually despise punch because the kind that's mostly sold as stores tastes like something squeezed out from the fiery pits of sugar hell, and the one i got was soo refreshing! The menu was very authentic. I recognized all the items because as a child my babushka didn't believe me when i said i wasn't hungry anymore, so she stuffed all types of russian food in me herself to fulfill her babushka duties. My boyfriend and I ordered stuffed peppers (galbutzi) and they were delicious. They were presented so classically, and the meat stuffing was very rich and flavorful. I'm usually a light eater and this portion was perfect for me. there were 3 peppers and i ate all of them. Service ruled, and our waiter was really friendly, attentive, and nice. (shout out goes to you sir with the eyebrow piercing!)I will definitely be back here again. Good food, atmosphere, and service.

Really good quality food. They have a good verity of Ukranian/Russian food. The place is cozy and the staff is nice. The place is small, make reservations. They also host many bigger events.

Came here for a birthday party - banquet style, in the big room. Didn't realize that they were having another party in the small room and there was only 1 bathroom in the place. Throughout the evening, the other party kept walking through at the most inconvenient times... Food was just ok as well, nothing special or original from the rest of the russian restaurants around. I was the most excited to try the cherry vareniki, but they turned out to be very artificial. Party was lots of fun, but it could have been anywhere.

Tasty food. Very delicious bread, made there. I was surprised various menu-in slavian food. 4 stars because interior is look like "ussr", very dark and not comfortable for me. Russian food is enough to make the atmosphere. Interior can be more modern.

I have to say that I was very impressed with my Saturday night dinner for a friends birthday here last night. From the mass of Russian restaurants in the northwest suburbs, this one definitely rises to the top. The quality of the food it was top notch, each dish had a distinctive taste and you could tell was created with the outmost care. You don't get that from the other Russian restaurants. Their dishes tend to taste like fish, meat, etc. but nothing special. The food was delicious, from the trout to the chicken roll ups, to the duck, to the salads that were put as appetizers. I truly enjoyed every dish. I will definitely be coming back here and will consider this place as top in terms of hosting parties here. Oh and the favorite of the Night, was their amazing crispy fried potatoes oh Em Gee!

Jazz hands! Well, I hope not, anyway. Jazz Cafe is a Russian restaurant which probably shouldn't be called a cafe much more than Mistiko or LaMirage. If you plan on coming here, I'd definitely advise to consider going with someone who is familiar with Russian cuisine and/or can read Russian. Let me start by saying that the tea was great, and the food was.....decent. I mean I understand that blintzes are apparently a Russian cuisine, but that doesn't necessarily translate to amazing cuisine. All in all, it's a nice place to go and a place worth checking out the food. I always dig some good blintzes.

Havent had Ukrainian/Russian food since working in the Irving Park area. Went in and was surprised with all they offer. Definitely will be going back to get more food. Didnt get their names, but the host ( guy and girl) are both great :)
