Always a great time at The Green post! Perfect for a casual date night! Their mules were so good!! I got the chicken wrap and my date got the gluten free fish and chips! Both were amazing! Place was a bit toasty, but nothing too unbearable! Our server was so nice and funny!

After the gym we were walking by and decided to go have lunch. From the outside it looks sort of dumpy and old with some sidewalk tables in summer. Inside, loads of carved wood and dark green walls, a small bar on one side and some small tables on the other side. There is another room with just tables and a fireplace. The decor was old pub, with some basic tables and chairs thrown in. They left a little dust so it could actually be old. Very English/Irish pub vibe, yet cozy. The menu was brunch/lunch and apparently everyday thing. It was not very crowded so we were seated right away. We were going to have a drink but since it was kind of early we drank water... They offer a few vegetarian options. I ordered the Ruby Scramble and my Partner ordered the Rasher Burger with chips. The food arrived after about 10 minutes. My Ruby Scramble looked a little strange and my partner's Burger looked great. I think when I got my Ruby Scramble, I had forgot what I had ordered so it didn't look like eggs. It was scrambled eggs with masala sauce and other items mixed in. It was orange/red so it threw me off. (Think of something drunk or stoned people would make or eat) I was neither at the time, but it was very good. My partner liked his burger as well.Overall funky old pub setting, Good service and good food. Should have had a drink. We will return.

Finally made it over and had a lovely time here. They have a cute and welcoming atmosphere and great patio. My partner and I are gin people, and we each got a different one of their specialty gin and tonics, and they were both delicious! I loved my jerk chicken wrap...though the fries/chips are the thick style that never really get crispy, which wouldn't be my first choice. Also have to write about the Herb Ertlinger cocktail which was...an experience. And cracked me up. The competing and clashing flavors really recreated the scenes of Moira and David sampling wines (going from "It tastes like amoxicillin", then mixing a bunch of things together to get to "I've had worse things in my mouth.") At first this tasted like koolaid, then the cider layer hit, and then there was a medicinal thyme finish. I laughed the whole time I was drinking it - not sure if that's what they were going for, but was impressed to have such an aptly named drink that could elicit such a reaction. Will definitely be back to try more...just might stick with G&Ts. Glad to have this spot in the neighborhood!

Great experience. Ambience and service were fantastic had the meat pie it was good but was definitely Irish style pastry ( as it should be in an Irish bar) the thin non flaky type. Was very good but my New Zealander meat pie bias requires me to mention it. Saying that I would have it again!

What a lovely little spot! I was actually there for coffee and coworking this morning, meeting up with a couple of local colleagues. During the day, the bar side is a coffee shop with your typical array of coffee, espresso, tea and so on, as well as pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Coffee was great, service was good, wifi was fast, and it's a great place to meet up with a friend if you're in the neighborhood.

During my maternity leave, The Green Post was my go-to spot. It feels so nice and cozy inside - truly like a pub. I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee and then order a nice mimosa while reading a good book or working on my crossword puzzle. The staff here are always so friendly. The burger and fries are always a huge hit.

Green Post wins on vibes immediately. Just walking by you'll feel for a moment like you're not quite in Chicago, and heading inside you're immersed in dark wood ceilings, fireplaces, and pints. For some reason most American cafes can't seem to hold down the "coffee by day" "beer by night" game. Folks think of a place as one or other (Map Room and a few others do this, but still are usually known for night or day). But Green Post, by taking us to the UK, seems to cross this effortlessly, with the big bar serving up espresso or Guinesss (or thankfully a nice curated selection of craft beers) any time.I stopped by again today to open up a laptop and work, and wound up inviting a friend and then staying for lunch. It's the perfect casual atmosphere to do this. The TVs are the Samsung photo frame TVs, and it contributes a lot to the ambiance that they keep them on British museum-like art (think Danish stilllifes) when nothing's happening, but then converts to a proper sports bar for soccer (not a soccer fan so can't add more there). The meat pies are delicious, and I appreciate that they're handmade, but they're the size of a small pastry, and at $13-14, they're just overpriced, which means they'll only be an occasional splurge. The one I got today was a bit dried out too. The chips and curry sauce tho... just tasty.

I've been back a couple of times of the last year and man this is my go to spot in the neighborhood. First of all, always great service ambiance and friendly staff. Second, great food and wonderful drinks. Third, I love that you can come in here and order food and drinks from a QR Code. You don't have to talk to anyone and it gets brought to your table, an introverts dream especially on a busy weekend night. Fourth, they have live music playing on Sundays I believe 4-6 PM. Every time I come back I am more and more impressed.

Very friendly service, great food, and a cool ambiance. Green Post is a comfortable bar with many TVs available if a soccer game is on. Along with breakfast, pies, and sandwiches have a good beer list and coffee/pastry options. This would be a great place to hang out and work as a "third space" or just a place to go to watch your favorite soccer team. A great addition to the neighborhood and an interesting concept.

Popped in for a Sunday night supper. I had the chicken and paneer - and my partner had the fish and chips. The meal was tepid. The music was some awful punk rock type music - some guy screaming out of tune. Air conditioning constantly blowing on us. While this is a convenient spot for us - and we like the decor - everything about the experience this evening suggests they don't want our custom.
