"My friend from out of town, who loves ramen, visited recently, and we decided to try Ramen-San. It's a casual spot with fulfilling food, perfect for a relaxed meal. We started with yuzu sake and Asahi beer, which were both refreshing. For appetizers, we had the karaage chicken nuggets and spicy kimchi. The karaage was crispy and flavorful, a great start to our meal. For the main course, we ordered the fried chicken ramen, fried Brussels sprouts, and tan tan san ramen. The kimchi and fried chicken ramen was a delightful blend of flavors, and the tan tan san ramen had the perfect amount of spice. I was particularly surprised by how much I loved the fried Brussels sprouts; I'm not usually a fan, but these were exceptional. The service was quick and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and I definitely recommend Ramen-San for anyone looking for a cozy place with great ramen and a welcoming atmosphere."
"I came here for dinner and the food was amazing! I had the chicken ramen and shrimp bao buns! Both items were a 10/10 I was extremely blown away how tasty the food was and I have tried many ramen places but this was by far one of the best. The waiter was extremely attentive and helpful with navigating us through the menu and what he would recommend and why based on what we had a taste for that night specifically. The ambiance is for a mature adult vibe not for young children, they also have a drink menu as well if you're looking for a tasty cocktail or beer my go to is the Sapporo beer."

"This was the best taken I've ever had. I really enjoyed every part of our dining experience and even better was the leftovers. I will definitely be back"
"This was my first time eating at Strings. The ramen was delicious but if you want to be full, you'll need to order either an appetizer or another bowl of ramen. One ramen bowl doesn't really fill up an adult male. Prices were standard and fair. Service was okay. I like that they're open late on the weekends but if you want good quality food that fills you up, look elsewhere. This is a 3 for me. Food was decent but not memorable. There are many other choices in Chinatown."
"I've come to Furious Spoon multiple times over the years, and I think that they started out good, and have only gotten better as time has passed. I'm a big fan of their Furious Ramen bowl, but with a little extra spice added. I wrestle with myself when I order this because the noodles that come with it are thin, and perfect but I also love the little extra spice that comes along with the chili noodle substitution. I have had their karaage before, but now they have added sauced options. We had the Smokeshow, and it is indeed a little show coming in a glass dome filled with cherry smoke. The sauce on these is a ginger sesame sauce, and it is sooooooo good! The only gripe I have with Furious Spoon is that they took away my favorite Ramen, and I'm impatiently waiting for them to bring it back, even if it's only for a limited time..... The Holy Cow! The spice on that bowl was phenomenal with ground beef and green beans. The drinks are also super good. I had a Dreamsicko Mode, and it was very tasty, and stronger than it tasted. I seem to find street parking on Fullerton with very little hassle. Cash and card are accepted. The staff are super friendly, and knowledgeable. When I was on the fence about the Karaage, our server brought us some of the sauce to taste to seal the deal."
"This is a small mom and pop ramen spot. The inside is kind of dated but I personally prefer it that way, gives off old school home vibes. They have a live waitlist on Yelp, I highly recommend utilizing this to avoid a long wait time. The ramen is absolutely delicious and tasty. The broth tastes like it's been boiling and prepared for hours, it's very good. Ramen comes with lots of toppings without having to add more for an up charge. They do have them though. The price is reasonable, most places have crazy high prices for ramen these days and I appreciate this one not raising their cost like others. Service is fine - You are able to enjoy your meal with who you're with without their staff hovering over you. This has become one of my favorite ramen spots in the area!"
"Santouka is a Japanese ramen chain in which they're known for their 20-hour simmered pork bone broth.I usually get the Cha-Shu Gohan Combo, which comes with a small bowl or ramen of your choice and a small cha-shu gohan. For the ramen, I go for the Tonkotsu Kara Miso Ramen, which is a miso-based broth with a hint of spiciness - sometimes, the broth is super creamy and savory with the perfect amount of spice; other times, it can be a bit thin in consistency and not as flavorful. The Cha-Shu Gohan is another regular order - this rice bowl is topped with braised pork belly, and when it's prepared properly, the small pulled pieces of pork is tasty and saucy, which is enough to mix and coat the rest of the rice. Other times, the pork is less than generous in the amount and lacking the sauce.Located at the food courts located inside Mitsuwa.+located inside Mitsuwa at their food court+plenty of parking in private lot"
"Okay so I've been here twice since my last review because this is starting to become a staple for me.My favs:The Tokyo sandwich (I think): so this is one of my fav things on the menu. It's mango, salmon and other stuff on a two slabs of rice. There's two sandwiches offered and I think this is the right one. The garlic yellow tail nigiri: 2 pieces of yellow tail seared and has garlic. THEY ARE SO GOOD.Creme brulee: what??? You must be joking. But I'm not. Their creme brulee is $6 and pretty solid portion. Honestly I'm such a creme brulee fiend that I may come back just for the creme brulee. This is not gonna be life changing but it surprisingly solid, and a reasonable price, and a decent size.Everything else I've had I loved. I just really like this place. I usually spend between $30-40 but leave fully full which is nice. I also think I may prefer it to all you can eat because there isn't a pressure to finish everything. You can just take it home."
"I had a great experience here! All of the sushi was pretty fresh. I tried the Unagi, Escolar, Salmon, and Scallop. Everything was honestly really decent quality for revolving sushi. Better than Kura Sushi! My favorite was the scallop nigiri! My only gripe was anything with spicy tuna... Didn't taste great. Staff here was great! Very helpful and kind. The conveyor belt was constantly replenished with new plates every 5 minutes. We came during the rain and were able to take home rain ponchos! Super cute, colorful, and branded with Sushi+"
"My first visit to Ramen San was pleasant. Their spacious seating area easily accommodated our large party, and we appreciated the variety of seating options. We indulged in a selection of drinks, including the Penicillin, Asahi, and Yuzu Sake Bomb, all of which impressed us.As for the food, everything we ordered, from the Japanese eggplant fries to the crispy tofu bun, maki express set, and Kimchi & fried chicken bowl--was delicious. A standout was the generous portion of the kimchi and fried chicken bowl, which we asked to be split into halves, and the server happily obliged. We also ordered karaage nuggets and chicken gyoza, both were equally good. For dessert, the Thai tea creme brulee and donuts were yummy, with the creme brulee being a definite recommendation.Overall, the experience was fantastic, with prompt service and a pleasant ambience adding to the enjoyment."
"Came in on a Sunday at noon to celebrate my brother in laws birthday. No wait and we were seated immediately. Located in a strip mall that's very unassuming with a pretty huge parking lot. From all the polar opposite reviews we really didn't know what to expect. Many complaints of weird or bad service but that was not the case on our end. To start, there's maybe 20 seats available at the restaurant and many of them you sit in front of the chef preparing the food. My husband and I ordered the red miso with egg which was INCREDIBLE! First time having red miso and it had wonderful flavoring, heavier than the white miso but absolutely incredible. The table also ordered white miso with vegetables, curry ramen, and the hotdogs. Everyone loved their food. I actually think this place has better ramen than a lot of places in Chicago. We had good service and everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be making the trip back. The only improvement I would request is for this place to upgrade the bathroom. Very poor lighting, strange latch that kinda works, boxes unpacked on the floor, toilet paper holder not properly installed, it looks like a college kid set up this bathroom. It was alarming compared to the rest of the restaurant."

Found this place out one night barhopping. There were a lot of people there so I thought I should check it out. This is a cute little place with plenty of tables outside and inside. So I would say don't worry about making reservation. People are in and out pretty quickly here. I ordered the sumo Ramen, which kinda came with everything. The bowl did not look intimidating at all. I thought I could finish this all by myself, but I was totally wrong. The portion is huge, definitely enough for two people. The broth was well seasoned. My favorite were the noodles. I definitely like my Ramen noodles al dente. They had a crunch to them which I loved. I also love the dumplings that came with the ramen. It was a really nice addition to the bowl. Overall, the entire bowl of Ramen definitely hit the spot. No

This is the best ramen in Chicago--maybe even the world! Everything here is homemade and fresh, with flavors that will blow your mind. The depth and complexity of their broth are unmatched, and their pork? It's on another level--perfectly tender, savory, and drenched in the most umami-packed marinade.Honestly, nothing else even comes close!

Good place for ramen on a cold day! This is my first time trying this type of ramen with their curly flat noodle type. I was very excited to try this place when I saw this place was known for their chashu, pork broth, and that they top their dishes with lots of green onions. We had to wait a bit given it was a Friday night and cold outside. They have a iPad out front that has a yelp waitlist you could put your name and number in. Next time, I would try to put my name down using the yelp waitlist on the app before getting to the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and took our order very fast.I got the Green Chili Shio Ramen that had a pork broth base topped with lots of Chashu and green onions as the name suggests. The soup was a good temperature for immediate eating and the broth was thick with a rich pork flavor. The noodles had a decent bite texture but I wish it had more because it was a bit soggy like. The Chashu were very lean cuts that did not have much fat. I really appreciate the amount of green onions and corn that they topped the dish with. The restaurant was relatively quiet even though they were fully booked. It is cozy and a great place to eat with friends and family!

I came here for lunch on a weekday and this dish came out just a few minutes after ordering! I got the hell ramen level 1, which felt like "medium spicy" to me. I liked the variety of toppings and textures (pork skin, ground meat, mushroom, clam). Ultimately I think I prefer tonkatsu but this was super fun to try (especially if you like spice)!

Delicious! We were headed to Stan Mansion for a show and wanted ramen in the area. We had three choices and picked Furious Spoon. Glad we did. I was worried at first because the place was light with business. We ordered drinks. My daughter got the grapefruit fizz drink on the menu it was so delicious she ordered two. I had a spicy margarita which was delicious. The price was supposed to be $7.99 but on the bill it ended up being $11. No worries I didn't fight it. Our server was Olivia and she was soooo nice!! My daughter is also an Olivia so that went over well. Lol We had: THE FURIOUS - it was delicious! The broth was so flavorful you don't have to add anything to this dish. I added corn because I'm a corn head but you're good. TOKYO SHOYU - so good! This was a darker broth but it was like having a pot roast without the beef. So good!Oh and by the time we left, it started to get a bit busier. We were just there early and it was a Wednesday.

I really enjoy Ramen House. I've ordered for pick up and delivery several times, and everything I've ordered has always been very delicious and fresh. My favorite is the Tonkotsu. Very delicious broth!Only complaint is that I've had some pretty chewy pork a few times I've ordered, but overall- it hasn't been a consistent issue.

While my son decided to eat sushi from inside the market, the wife and I both opted for some ramen from Santouka. The line was t very long, and the ordering system may seem overwhelming at first, but it's actually quite simple. Unfortunately, the waiting time was a lot longer. It was definitely worth the wait. I ordered their Salt Char Siu Ramen. The noodles were a little thin, but otherwise a near perfect dish. They were perfectly cooked and the pork was very tender. The broth was so flavorful, everything went so perfect together. In also ordered a side of Hanjuku tamago (soft-boiled egg) to put in my brother and it also tasted great. Will definitely want to return next time I'm in the area.

My friend who lives in town raved about Sushi Plus Rotary Sushi Bar and walking in the concept is really cool. You pay by color of plates and you take as they go by you. If you do not see the item you want you can order off the iPad at the table and then gets delivered to you by train. The staff was plenty and stopped by for drinks /!: asking how the meal was and if they can get you anything else. So I would give them 5 star for service and the ambience I would give 5 stars. The sushi I would give 3 stars max. The sushi was average and you have no clue how many times the food went around the conveyor belt by the time you get it. My friend who has dined there before said the sushi was better in previous visit.

"Certainly there's a lot of sushi places around here. Enso is another, and it's among the good ones. It's surprisingly affordable, maybe because it's not that large of portions. About the only complaint is it's not exactly that much food. The sushi is fresh though. After looking around for a place to get sushi, we chose to come here. It's conveniently close to the Damen Blue Line. This place has a cool vibe. Kind of quiet. The prices aren't that bad, especially for around here where it's hipster stuff. It's about $6 for a basic roll. We got a few of these. Best one was the Avocado Roll. It was good in spite of being simple. An example of how good food doesn't need to be elaborate. The rolls were as fresh as food gets. For sure it's pretty easy to find sushi around here but it's harder to find it fresh and cheap. It's possible to get both here. There's also more on the menu such as gyoza, ramen, and other good Asian stuff."
"Great meal! Service was fantastic, the drinks were good, and the ambiance was perfect. My only complaint was they were out of the wagyu beef entree. My dining companion is Filipino and raved about her chirashi. I had teriyaki chicken with buttered veggies and it was tasty. We also enjoyed scallion pancakes."
"TLDR; - honeycomb seating is 1st come, 1st serve- weekends can get crazy busy so line up early --------4.5 stars rounding up~Shoutout to Pam for accommodating Bonnie C. and I with the honeycomb seating! Thank you Brent too for being so awesome!(Thanks!) Bonnie C. found this place on social media and ooof, on a Saturday later evening (8pm-ish and later) it was packedddWe were seeking for the honeycomb seating since we hadn't found anything like it in SF and Pam (staff member) mentioned to us that it's typically 1st come 1st serve but was really sweet in making it happen for us!Menu offers ramen on one side and on the other side, a variety of milk teas , appetizers and desserts. They even offer ramen combo options too!I took advantage of their ramen bowl combo~ Tonkatsu Curry Ramen, Pork Bao and Thai Tea, everything was delicious and I left with a filled and happy tummy! Only thing to mention is the Tonkatsu was OK, the breading was eh since it wasn't a lot of flavor and the chicken itself was pretty standard. Pork Bao was a tasty little snack and the Thai Tea definitely hit the spot after a long day.Would recommend to check out if you're wanting ramen, but don't forget to line up early for dinner!**note; since we waited for the honeycomb seating, that added more waiting to being seated (I'd say at least 20, if not 30mins more)"
"Their sushi is great, especially their dish, "The Gangster," which comes with a large array of sushi. The service is pretty fast for such a small place, and it maintains a very calming atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back."
"Yellowtail is by far my favorite BYOB sushi place I've been to so far!!! A lot of the ones I've been to aren't very nice and don't have high quality sushi, but Yellowtail was very good and had really good, high quality, fresh sushi. The inside was packed and not very big, so I recommend making a reservation. Although it is BYOB, there is a $5 fee for every bottle of wine you open. The quality of sushi and experience at Yellowtail is still worth the $5 fee though over going somewhere else that isn't as good.I tried the Miso Salmon and Spicy Calamari roll. Both were amazing, but the Miso Salmon roll took the cake. I would get it again and again next time I go back over trying all new things. Yellowtail has tons of options outside of sushi, so it makes it a great place to go with anyone. Can't wait to go back!!!!"
"Great little place! Little being the key word. Dont go in a group. 2 people per bench is comfy but then 4 would be a lot. Small spicy miso ramen - I like spice and this was spicy! Wowee. It was spicy with a ton of chili oil. Otherwise it was great. The small is just a normal bowl, it's small. Dont expect it to be a full meal and it's full of noodles with little broth. It barely tasted like miso at all, it was fairly bland and mostly just spicy. Not salty which is great! Noodles are a little thicker here. Spicy miso veggie soup - very good! More flavorful than the spicy miso and still not salty which is awesome. Lots of noodles. Noodles are a little thicker here. Spicy edamame- very good Tempura shrimp - good California roll - very food Staff super nice and attentive Price is a little expensive"
"Really great bowl of ramen with satisfying rich broth and super soft slices of bbq pork belly. I got the signature Kameya ramen, which was honestly amazing and now ranks in my top favorite 3 ramens near the city of Chicago. All of the components of the ramen were perfectly made including the pork, the broth, the soft boiled egg, and the noodles. Would definitely come back again if I am in the mood for ramen!"
"Very good experience at this restaurant, just like the one we had 2 years ago. The chicken in the Chicken Shio was cooked to perfection. Didn't know they were a chain across the city. Really enjoy this location, but if there is one closer, I will give the nearest one consideration."
"Best ramen in the city! Bar none. Service was attentive and friendly. The place is small but clean and tidy; usually best for to-go orders but I enjoy eating their ramen on site. You really don't know how good something is until you've had other experiences. I first tried their ramen 3 years ago and found it okay. After eating ramen at a few other establishments and coming back to this one-their broth is the best !Their spicy garlic ramen hit the spot. Perfectly spicy! They don't shiest on their broth amount or noodle amount either. It's as close to authentic as you can possibly get ! They were also very generous in their tapioca serving when asked for extra. Their sushi is also bangin' too!Top notch!"
"It is great to have a spicy ramen in a cold rainy evening. Stopped by here for dinner after a long day at McCormick Place for conference. I ordered Agedashi Garlic Tofu and Daifuku Spicy Garlic Ramen ( level 2 spiciness). The tofu was hot and tender inside with the seaweed in great combination. The ramen was great with good noodle texture except not enough meat (only one slice of chashu pork."
"This place is SO good. I came here on Lollapalooza 2023 weekend because my brother lives in Chicago and suggested it, and he has been a large handful of times with friends. We walked in for lunch as a group of 5, and waited very shortly (like less than 10 minutes) for a table they had to clear. Inside is fairly small, and it looks like it gets busy so plan accordingly! The decor inside is super cute, full of neon lights and bright cute characters like you'd find in Japan.I ordered the SIGNATURE GYUKOTSU - creamy beef bone broth ramen. I was so excited to try this, since it's such a unique concept from traditional ramen, and I was not let down. Since most places are traditionally pork, miso, or soy-sauced based broth, I was so pleasantly surprised with how delicious this beef broth was. They really executed this well and I understand why from first bite it's one of their signature dishes. The beef was tender, and soup was savory and flavorful. My boyfriend got the Prime Shoyu ramen - comes with delicious medium rare filet mignon on top. It was so pretty and aesthetic - the bowl looked perfect. The flavor was even more delicious than it looked. I couldn't decide which ramen I liked more, but needless to say I ended up switching with my boyfriend and devouring much of his ramen. lol Overall, a really solid place for ramen. 5/ starsAnd yes sure, it strays a bit from "traditional" ramen, but coming back from visiting Japan recently, I can confidently say this place is WELL WORTH your visit to try something new and delicious."
"You need to get here! This #hiddengem recently made Infatuation Chicagos list of best ramen places in the city and they're the only ramen spot staying open until 1:30am! Yes, you can still eat good, late. The Japanese food here is to be enjoyed in their izakaya vibes, which are casual pubs that you can grab lots of small dishes to sample. Honorable mention to the Chicken Curry Ramen and Taiyaki with ice cream - my two favorite items from my visit! I also had a really good Mai Tai and Lychee martini. Go check them out for some good food and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you."
"This has been on my list for awhile and one day I decided to try. It's located in a strip mall with lots of parking. When you go inside, they have a sufficient amount of tables to sit at, but it wasn't very busy on a Saturday night. You order at the register and he brings it out to you. You'll have to be patient, they don't have a lot of staff. We ordered tako karaage (fried octopus), croquettes, Taiwan style tonkotsu ramen with 2 pieces of chashu, and the deluxe bento with butashoga (ginger pork). I had a bite of the pork and it was delicious. Ginger was not overpowering. Tender meat. Prices were very affordable and cheap. Service was great and he brought out our food hot and freshly made. I would definitely come back and try other items. -tako karaage 5 - it had a nice little chew and was not overly fried. Great taste.-croquettes 5 - I loved these. When you bite into them, they're soft. Flavorful, savory filling inside. I should have gotten more of these.-Taiwan style tonkotsu ramen 5 - noodles were chewy. Bountiful amount of ground pork. The two chashu pieces were tender and easy to break apart. Broth was not heavy, it was just right."
"Five stars for Isakaya Sankyu Japanese Restaurant! Service was pretty good and the restaurant is a nice calm, quiet environment.I came in here for dinner and tried the Spicy Miso Ramen - it's very good not too spicy but it's decently spicy. I also tried the Sukiyaki - my first time trying that, it was good I think it's comparable to Korean Beef Bulgogi but like a soup version of it.The Spicy Tuna sushi roll was excellent as well - the fish is very fresh. Highly recommended if you're in the area and want an authentic Japanese restaurant for lunch or dinner, I know they have specials for entrees for both times as well."
"My daughter and I love going out for ramen! So to celebrity another one of her academic achievements we headed on over to Kinton on a Tuesday evening. We walked in with no res and were immediately seated. Kinton is a well-lit, casual eatery with a nice crowd of young, artsy types. We checked out the menu and immediately made our decisions: we both had the spicy beef ramen with a side of veggie gyoza, karaage and the Tokyo tots, which are free every Tuesday. Our food was brought out rather quickly and we enjoyed everything. The only thing was the runner took our leftover gyozas and tots without asking if we'd like a box, as a I was signing the check ( my daughter was in the bathroom at the time). I informed the server and she apologized profusely and said she'd make fresh orders. I told her she didn't have to do that but she insisted. So sweet! Kinton Ramen was a win with me. Affordable and perfect for a casual outing with friends, family or a date. I'll be be back!"
"Further down Rt 60 (Townline Road), past the mall is Sushi Kushi San3, which is the third Sushi Kushi (1 in Highland Park, Too in Lake Forest). I am assuming if you like either of those (I do, I do), then you will probably like this one also.We came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant was fairly empty, we were seated in the window alcove at a large table. The lunch special is still in effect on weekends so I ordered the katsu curry lunch which comes with a standard green salad with ginger dressing. The katsu looked to be a portion for three--crisply fried, sliced tender pork katsu bathed in a slightly spicy brown curry sauce with rice, and a dollop of pickled red ginger. It was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious--this was perfect for a chilly fall afternoon. My companions went with ramen--ginormous bowls with molten hot broth, thinly sliced char siu and ramen and vegs. This was super filling and tasty and they could not even finish half of it, the rest taken to go. I also had some saba nigiri -- the Saba was perfect--oily, bathed in a light vinegar, tender -- although the rice fell apart. We really enjoyed our meal -- service was timed perfectly -- server was cordial and efficient. Lunch seemed a perfect time to experience a leisurely meal."
"This is my spot for delivery sushi in West Loop and has been for many years. It's really not bad, but for how much I eat (3-4 rolls in a sitting), it is as expensive as a steak dinner. Preparation is always lightning fast. The selection is good and the restaurant rarely serves bad fish. Recently, they have been serving very low quality tempura shrimp."
"Four stars for the food. Two stars - maybe even one star - for the service. We came here on a Friday evening to take my daughter and her friends to dinner. There were seven of us in the group and the restaurant was not busy at all, so we were able to find a table right away. Someone brought us water and told us to scan the QR code to see the menu, then someone would come by to take our order. I prefer physical menus, but I've seen this electronic format become more common so I didn't think anything of it.So we made our selections and waited. And waited. And waited. We saw at least 3 people who appeared to be FOH staff walking back and forth but they never made eye contact and he had to literally wave and shout at someone to come take our order. They looked almost bewildered that we actually wanted to order food at a restaurant.Once we ordered, the food came out fairly quickly. We shared an order of wasabi string beans which was delicious. I had the black garlic tonkotsu ramen, which was overall excellent. The broth was rich and almost buttery, but the noodles weren't quite the right consistency. There was a decent-sized chunk of pork belly, but they could have been a little more generous with the vegetable. The egg was way overcooked - really, it shouldn't have been served at all. Other people liked their ramen as well - the level 3 "Hell Ramen" was a hit, but not nearly as spicy as was implied by their rating scale. Someone got the clams and pork over rice, a dish we hadn't encountered before, and this was also pretty good but maybe a little heavy on the salt. After we finished dinner, there was more waiting. No one seemed interested in bringing us the bill. I half suspect that we could have walked out of there without paying and nobody would have noticed. In the meantime, another group had been seated next to us and the waitress struck up a nice conversation with them - after bringing them a set of paper menus! I guess we didn't look like the type of group that deserved the courtesy of half-decent customer service. The final annoyance was the automatic 18% gratuity that was added for groups of 5 or more. Honestly, they didn't warrant that amount. We won't be back."
"I love having a sushi place within walking distance in the neighborhood. My husband and I have frequented Nano Sushi well before restaurants were shutdown and the staff always treated us nicely. We were always able to score a table without having to wait too long. They have a ton of tables that could easily accommodate any sized group. My favorite part about Nano's is that they are BYOB and the maki rolls are reasonably priced. Be careful because they definitely add up if you don't watch yourself but oh so worth it. Nano's is still go to whenever my husband and I are craving sushi. Nano's has always been consistent with their rolls and other menu items. I don't think I can say that I have ever had a bad meal from Nano's. They also prepare the food so quickly that you won't be hungry for too long. Nano's is definitely worth the walk or delivery because they won't disappoint!"
"Menya goku is a place you'd find only if you were looking for it or passing by randomly and peering in. There's no store signage or advertisement. It's a small space with limited seating for groups. It's really perfect to go with a date or groups up to 4 people. I was surprised it was on the empty side when we got there around 7pm on sat. If by chance there is a wait, there is a waitlist at the front. All the ramen options are delicious. You can't go wrong with any of them. I find that the goku tan tan men is the spiciest. The other spicy ramen on the menu are more manageable. We also had the snow maiden sake which was on the sweeter side. It's a quiet, intimate ramen place. Highly recommend for the ramen lover. Make sure to check the double check the hours before heading over. I've found that the hours to be flexible and been burned a few times during the weekday."
"This was good ramen for the burbs. It was a bit of a drive to the Hoffman Estates location. However, we were able to get seated with no wait. If you check in via Yelp, you can get a free appetizer of crab rangoon. We also ordered chicken karaage, tonkotsu shoyu ramen, and black garlic tonkotsu ramen. Food came out surprisingly fast. The staff was good at taking away the empty plates and bowls. Chicken karaage was good. Chicken was juicy, crispy, and cut in good size bite pieces. Crab rangoon was okay, I mostly tasted the cream cheese, I felt like there wasn't much imitation crab meat in there. Tonkotsu shoyu ramen was delicious. I enjoyed sipping the rich, flavorful pork broth. Pork meat was nice and tender. It broke apart easily. Noodles were chewy and good. It's a tasty ramen for the cold weather. Black garlic tonkotsu ramen, I liked the broth more than the shoyu. I found it addictingly savory and had a longer lasting impression on me. Prices were reasonable. Sufficient parking."
"Best place to get sushi in Edgewater. It's a pretty unassuming place that doesn't look like much. YATAI is actually a hidden gem though. Has a big menu of rolls and other Asian favorites. The prices aren't bad for how much you get and there's a variety of basic and more upscale. After looking for a few sushi places, we came here. It's a pretty low key classy type of place. This looks pretty not fancy from the outside, but it's better than it looks, and that goes for the food as well. It's about $5 for the cheapest rolls. We got the Shiitake Roll, which of course had mushrooms, and this one was good for being simple. It's about $7 for the more expensive rolls. We got the Vegan Mexican Roll, which was more complicated yet so much better though. It was a kind of Asian and Mexican fusion. This was made with avocados, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeños, and lime, with a spicy sauce. It was spicy for sure, lots of flavor. This was well executed fusion of different cuisines that have more similarities than you may think. For sure could come here again. It has lots of rolls to choose from. There's lots of choices for vegans and vegetarians."
"Yep, easily 5 star ramen. The place is really cute and I enjoyed sitting at the counter watching the cook work. The counter was also a great place for Rudy to introduce himself. What a sweetheart! The man can cook, too.The takoyaki was crispy and creamy, hot and cool, and a completely unnecessary starter because I should have saved room for ramen. The tantanmen was so perfectly umami and a bit spicy. The bok choy was charred and seasoned with something I couldn't place, but it was awesome. I would order this again and again if I lived nearby. This is a total winner and worth the parking trouble."
