"This place. Oh man. What an oasis of incredible fresh flavors in what is otherwise just another mall food court inside of the Peachtree center in downtown Atlanta. This place sustained me while I was staying in one of the nearby hotels and searching for a fresh lunch. The 5 star Yelp rating (at time of writing) is absolutely warranted. It reminds me a lot of a place that I love where i live. Fresh flavors, unique and appealing spices, a charismatic owner who is both present and actively involved in making his restaurant amazing, and his customers happy. While waiting in line to order, he emerged with a tray full of cups of soup to give out to everyone as an aperitif, and to possibly entice them to order a whole bowl.Fresh food is continuously emerging from the kitchen, and it has to, because the line is steady but moves quickly thanks to their format. This keeps it all fresh, and you from waiting too long. I had mixed shawarma with rice, loads of roasted veggies, hummus, creamed spinach, red cabbage slaw, and pita. It was a plentiful feast, some of which came back to my room with me for a snack later. All of it was delicious, every component. Not to mention, it's a large and modern restaurant with plenty of tables to enjoy some peace, even if busy. This will be a must have anytime I find myself near downtown Atlanta. Healthy, delicious, runs like clockwork. Thanks Kameel!"
"This spot has free parking in the city so it should definitely be given some credit for that. It's in a really good area in Buckhead. It has a lot of area and places to go if you want to walk around after dinner. But the spot itself is very nice and well kept but it's still looks kind of rural and rustic in a Mediterranean sense. It's a really good aesthetic. Not over the top and not too much. That been doing outdoor seating so depend on the weather you could do both. And there's plenty of patio so there's more than two or three tables outside. But the indoor is very nice and aesthetically pleasing so if you wanted to stay in the air conditioner this would be a good spot as well. I got seated right away, and I got water right away, even though it took a minute for the server to get to me. But the service here was really nice, I don't have any issues overall. I got suggestions on what I could try. Everything was good though. Now I'm very biased because where I'm originally from they have a heavy population of people who are of Mediterranean descent so I am very spoiled lol. But I try to go into it with an open mind! Sigara (beef) rolls were pretty good. There is a lot of dill flavor in them so if you don't like dill then they may not be for you but I enjoyed them. They were brought to me still hot and the sauce added a little extra cool taste. Just think of them as egg rolls. My only gripe with them was they came out a little bit burnt so they may have said enough fire a little too long but they still at the same flavor though.Chicken gyro was good. It comes with a salad but I got a substitute of fries instead. The gyro was very big, even to be a little messy (which I dont mind). It was stuffed to the brim! The fries were very well seasoned also.Adana kebab plate was good, it was hearty and filling. Presentation was solid, it came with rice and salad, it was a good choice."

"I liked this place. It is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, near some old Federal/courthouse type building. It is a few blocks from Peachtree Street. I met a friend here for lunch before doing a walking tour. The shop is a straightforward, no frills sort of place. They have a small dining area with multiple booths and a couple of tables up front, and a counter at the back where you order. There is a menu board above the counter. The guy behind the counter was friendly and engaging. The food is then brought out to your table after you order. I got a gyro and fries and enjoyed them. This place is well worth a stop for a quick lunch if you are in the area."
"Celebrated a joint birthday dinner with my hubby and it was fantastic! Service was impeccable, ambiance was great, cocktails and wine were tasty and our calamari, orecchiette dish and Patagonia salmon were absolutely delicious. And they were very sweet bringing our dessert out with a birthday treat and message if you're in John's Creek you should definitely come here!"
"Great food here with fast service! I ate in the restaurant and there is a plenty of space. The soda machine area was a bit of a mess and not as tidy/clean as I would have liked so thats why I took off once star. This is more of a grab and go! The food is tasty and good prices. I would go back for take out."
"We had picked up takeout through the drive-through one time, but this was our first time eating inside the restaurant. They do not offer table service, but you can order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table . There are also multiple people checking on you throughout the meal. The food was clearly the highlight of our experience. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and very flavorful. I enjoyed a bowl of the Greek lemon soup, and I would definitely go back for more. We tried the beef Souvlaki Sticks, and the steak was super tender and very flavorful. We also tried a few of the appetizers, including the Greek wings, and the Saganaki. When they bring it to your table, they use brandy to literally light it on fire, so it's smoking hot when it's served. This is definitely a favorite of mine.Being that we live not too far from this restaurant, we would definitely consider returning and highly recommend trying Yeero Village in Roswell. Cheers"
"Very nice hidden gem in Hapeville. Street Parking and there is also a parking lot. I went to Volare with coworkers for dinner...it was a great choice. Excellent customer service...Yummy appetizers and food. We had all of the appetizers on the menu ...ALL yummy even the mussels. Sorry no pics of the appetizers...we were hungry lol I had Tetrazzini Pasta with Salmon. Delicious Perfect atmosphere for an after work dinner and drinks. They have a good wine and beer selection. It was a bit hazy inside and I think that was because of the kitchen. Overall experience Enjoyed myself"
"Always a great visit. The food is fantastic. This is one of those places you can bring a first-timer and they'll probably come back on their own within the week."
"I don't think I have ever succeeded in finding a hidden gem restaurant till this moment! I've lived in the area for over a decade, but only recently discovered Noosh. Firstly, the ambiance is excellent. It comes across as a very upscale environment with reasonable prices. Our sever was Vee, and he was the highlight of our experience. The food began with an appetizer which was delish and fresh, and everyone there was incredibly kind to my mother and I. I ordered the lamb Kabob and she had the chicken, and we honestly could not get enough. The food came out quickly and had really decent portion sizes. All of the service was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The meat was cooked perfectly and was a great blend of spices and freshness. If you have not tried this place, you are missing out!"
"This was my favorite restaurant while visiting Atlanta. My friend lives nearby and suggested it, so we walked (braved the cold and wind) 10 minutes to the restaurant. We didn't have reservations, and there was no wait. Apparently, the restaurant was closed for remodeling and recently opened. You can dine downstairs near the bar, but most of the seating was upstairs. The stairway tiles in between were such a beautiful print reminiscent of Greek or Turkish design. There's intimate 2- person seating and larger seating for groups of 4 or more. The teal velvet seating added to the charm. The place was dimly lit and cozy. Mary Lyle was our waitress. She was amazing and attentive. My friend and I ordered cocktails and various appetizers to try. Excellent price points from $7-9 with large portions, not to mention, delicious.I had the Gardenia cocktail with gin and cucumber that was refreshing. My friend ordered the Basilisk. I tried it, and it's green apple forward and also good. The appetizers we chose were hummus, babaganoush, shakshuka, and spanakopita. Unfortunately, they ran out of the babaganoush past 8 pm. Mary Lyle brought us a complimentary appetizer - lentil kofte. It was served on a bed of romaine. Hummus: Large portion. I loved the fried chickpeas on top. It's served with a full basket of pita. Spanakopita: 4 pieces and comes with a side salad with vinaigrette dressing. The spinach and feta was baked to perfection.Shakshuka: I absolutely loved this variation of shakshuka because it was eggplant based. It's typically tomato and egg. There was no egg, but it did have green peppers in a homemade tomato sauce. The eggplant and peppers were tender and paired nicely with the pita bread. Since the eggplant was cooked right, I'm sure the babaganoush was just as great.I had eaten a large, Southern dish for lunch, so I was getting full. My friend ordered the Turkish moussaka that came with eggplant and ground beef and was served with rice. I had some of it, and it is a filling entree. Again, it was a large portion. At the end of our meal, Mary Lyle surprised us with a free dessert - rice pudding. We killed it! There's a hint of cinnamon. It was creamy. I could taste the whipping cream or milk they used. When I go back to Atlanta, I'm coming here for my Mediterranean fix. I just hope there's babaganoush next time! *fingers crossed*"
"Had a great Kafta wrap, $8 plus tax. Great deal and taste, fresh veggies, delicious sauce. Perfect!"
"Tannour is a very casual spot, and it doesn't pretend to be anything. What I like about it is that it delivers on flavor. We got the falafel and shaved chicken - along with all the relevant toppings. Bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the sauces as a free option to provide some extra flair for your dish. Also got the baklava. It was delicious - but much smaller than expected.I was also happy that the environment was clean (perhaps because we were among the first to walk in).I'd be happy to return."

I love Aviva by Kameel in Atlanta! The food is always fresh, healthy, and delicious. It does get busy, but the line moves quickly. Every time I visit, they offer generous samples. I usually get the chicken shawarma plate, and the sides are excellent. I've been eyeing the lamb, but it's a bit out of my budget. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the chef is often there, bringing great energy and showing a lot of love for the customers.

The service was great and best of all, the FOOD!! Yummy!!We started with the sampler plate of different dips followed by Dolmas (stuffed grape leaves), and buttered and fried cheese sticks that I cannot remember the name of at the moment Also the shush kabob of lamb and fries with salad that it came with. Everything was exceptional!!Ended with a pistachio baklava dessert that was perfect!Highly recommend. I know that there are a ton of really fancy, over priced restaurants in Buckhead but this place is amazing and I highly recommend!! We also had a beer and a soda and the bill was 100 dollars! Gotta love that

My friends and I were looking for a quick dinner spot after spending a long day in downtown Atlanta. We were super hungry, but it was getting late. We wanted to be served fast and eat quickly before we got back to our hotel to shower and rest for the night. Then, we kinda found this place on our search. It was opened, empty and close to our hotel, so it was perfect for us.There was 2 men inside manning the whole store. There were decent amount of tables inside. They answered any questions that we had. I personally got the COMBINATION PLATTER. The 2 meats choices they had were pretty good. The white and spicy sauce that they had made it even better. I went up to ask for more sauce and they kinda gave me more. The side salad had a good amount of vegetables and a nice light dressing. They also gave pita bread on the side, but was surprised to see how thin they make theirs. It was different, but nonetheless good. The whole combo with carbs/protein/vegetables was enough to satisfy my super starving stomach. I also ordered a BAKLAVA dessert. I was kinda disappointed in their baklava. It was not your typical slice, but more like 2-3 tiny rolled baklava in one order. It personally didn't think it was worth the price despite it tasting good. It was really small and left me wanting more.Overall, I do recommend this shop for their food. Despite how I may have judged this place by the lack of reviews or lack of customers inside, the food was good. It wasn't the best halal food I've had, but it satisfied my hunger and tasted good.

Unfortunately my family had a poor experience at Sugo and they basically have said they never want to go back. It feels like most of the blame is on me because I was eager to have Italian food and I have dined at other restaurant owned by the same hospitality group and was hyping them up. The Good: I actually enjoyed our appetizers. We ordered several for the table- Calamari Fritti, Bruschetta, Greek Flatbread, and the Classico Salad. I personally thought they were all delicious and I would order and eat them all again. I will note that the Greek flatbread was incredibly thin, so much so that my dad wondered if it had been made using a tortilla. I still thought it tasted great though. Also, our server was very nice. The Bad: Basically, everything else, especially the entrees. We had a 6 pm seating time on a Saturday and the place was deafeningly loud- not because of music or anything (I actually don't think there was any) but something about the acoustics in the restaurant make it impossible to hear anybody who isn't directly across from you. I was on the opposite side of the table of 6 from my brother and we had to shout to hear each other. My dad just gave up on trying to hear anything and was just annoyed the whole time. Our appetizers were brought out one at a time, with the time in between rounds getting longer and longer. It was an hour and a half before we received our Classico salad, which we had been intending to split as a table, and the server apologized profusely and explained that the salad had been given to the wrong table, so they brought us a second one for free. Also, despite our server assuring us that the apps were a good size, they would have been best shared for 4 or less people- with our party of 6 the apps were reduced to a tasting menu by necessity. There simply was not enough to go around for everyone. Our entrees came even later and the only people who liked their food were my husband and my mother. My husband said his cannelloni was fine, just not his favorite thing ever, and my mom had no complaints with her Frutti di Mare (however, from my observation, the dish was mostly mussels, and I don't think she got all of the types of seafood that are listed in the menu description). Also, the entree that both my sister in law and I had selected (the veal ravioli) was apparently 86'd so our server brought us a menu and asked us to pick new ones. I was actually incredibly disappointed because I had looked at the menu several days ahead of time and had been looking forward to it. My SIL picked the eggplant Parmesan and I picked the Aunt Lena's Chicken. My brother and his wife split their entrees (cannelloni and eggplant parm) and both of them did not like their entrees at all. They found the eggplant parm to be inedible (to be polite) and basically did not touch the dish at all. They did eat most of their cannelloni but said it was mostly cheese and very little meat. My Aunt Lena's Chicken was not great. The chicken part was a basically a whole fried breast, and I basically only ate that. It was served with some pasta in a pink sauce (on the menu as "pink cream sherry sauce") that was cold and tasted canned. I ate maybe 3 pasta pieces before leaving the rest. Additionally, the whole thing was plated on a bed of raw baby spinach, so the spinach underneath was wilted and a tuft of spinach that was peeking out was still raw and fluffy (as you would find in a salad). I mean come on, pick one- if the spinach is intended to be wilted go ahead and actually saute it and cook it but to just throw hot food on top of spinach to make it wilt and call it a day is lazy, or just serve it as a spinach side salad. We ordered a few drinks as well, my dad got a Sicilian Spice and didn't like it, my husband got the Island Export mocktail and liked it so much he had 2, and I got the For Your Health mocktail which was very small compared to my husband's drink and got warm quickly. If I could drink I would have gotten the sangria but alas. To give an idea of how long we were there, the table next to us had gone through 3 different seatings by the time we paid and left. Mr and Mrs Castellucci were present and making rounds while we were there but we were only visited once by Federico who gave us a speech about perfecting appetizers which in retrospect almost felt like a warning. We were celebrating double anniversaries so the whole meal was a big let down and my brother was very irate about the entire thing. Our server definitely felt bad. The restaurant gave us spumoni and mango sorbet as both a congratulation and apology. Unfortunately I think the only people who would come back are myself and my husband (just for appetizers) and maybe my mom if I asked but everyone else at the table considered it a gigantic disappointment and waste of money and they would never come back.

I love shawarma's and I cannot lie! I was introduced to this restaurant in 2016 at a wedding. I had to find out who catered the dinner and I was told it was Ameer's. I searched quickly where they were located and once I found them, I have been addicted. The good news, it is legal and I don't have to worry about going to counseling. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty! I love their Tabouli salad so I always get a large portion as a side. (Small will not cut it) The falafels are crispy and flavorful and that is no lie!As my main course, I had the lamb/chicken shawarma platter and no need to ask if there were left overs because there were not. My friend had the lamb shank and he basically ate the bone. My other friend is vegetarian and had the falafel platter and she loved it! The restaurant is quaint and cozy. Just what you need to have a great lunch/dinner. If you are ever in the area, stop by and falafel away as you will say "you had me at tabouli"

The food here is incredible! Everything was very fresh, and served piping hot! They make their own sauces and salad dressing in house. I never knew a salad could be so delicious! Try the lemon chicken soup too! Next to my YiaYia's, it's the best I've had! The restaurant was clean and nice. The staff is very happy to help you. All around, a great choice! The portion sizes were enormous too!

Oh em geee!! I finally was able to make it to this place and it did not disappoint. First thing first... Staff was amazing. I love a friendly staff from host, server, bar, food runner and cooks. The wine selection has something for everyone. The food was delicious. Everything on the menu was something I would want to try. The appetizers were so filling. I came with my mother who has lived in Hapeville all her life and so have her parents & their parents but she has never gotten to enjoy what the area has to offer. She felt comfortable and was so impressed with this place. I was as well & most definitely will be back. I had two glasses of wine, my mom had one and we shared 2 apps & a dessert for about $70. Not bad.Definitely recommend for after work, dinner date or self care date.

Delicious gyro wrap combo! . I used to go across the street for bbq. Always wondering about this place. My father was the first person to take me to get a gyro when I was a kid in Savanah Georgia. Every time I get one I think of him. He passed in 2014. I didn't eat a lunch at work just snacking on chips. I wanted my appetite right for when I got off from work. I ate the fries in my car and the lamb gyro is loaded. I got the combo with the sweet tea. I also got a lamb plate for lunch at work tomorrow it's flooded not skimpy. The plate comes with potatoes and a salad with dressing and a tzatzikii sauce and pita bread. My new gyro go to spot! I can eat off this plate on first and second break at work.

"The food and service at Truva Turkish Kitchen in Virginia-Highland were outstanding. I give this place 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. This is perhaps the best Turkish restaurant in metro Atlanta. That said, there aren't many. Delbar and Cafe Agora come to mind. When it comes to Mediterranean food more generally, I think Truva still compares favorably to the competition.I went to the original Truva in downtown Atlanta during Dragon Con: https://bit.ly/47VHTBa That location closed in June 2020, leaving only this one: https://bit.ly/4bf7hom This location replaced American Roadhouse in Virginia-Highland in February 2019.We visited this location for a Sunday lunch. At that time, I was somewhat surprised to see a brunch and breakfast menu, which wasn't on Truva's website when I checked. The menu had a lot of egg dishes (e.g., omelets, Eggs Benedict) and also incorporated Turkish foods like beef soujuk (sujuk - spicy fermented sausage) and borek (pastries/pies).Truva is on OpenTable and they award points. Book your reservation there and earn points which can be used to redeem restaurant discounts, Amazon gift cards, hotel stays, and more. Here's what three of us shared:Hot Meze* Octopus ($16) - chargrilled Mediterranean octopus, arugula salad, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, grilled tomato caper sauce, hummus* Mutebbel ($14) - smoked eggplant, dehydrated yogurt, garlic, walnut, paprika, butterChargrilled Kebabs* Mixed Grill for Two ($62) plus One ($35) - chargrilled adana, chicken kebab, beef kebab, shaved doner, Turkish rice, grilled tomatoes, long hot peppers, Everything was delicious, especially for a Sunday when service was slow. Sometimes, restaurants don't churn out their best stuff at non-peak times, but everything we ordered was on point. I was impressed. We actually ended up ordering off the dinner menu instead of the lunch menu because we wanted to try a variety of kebabs. The best way to do that was via the "Mixed Grill" option on the dinner menu. Coincidentally, I happened to do the same thing relatively recently - ordered off the dinner menu at lunchtime to try more kebabs - at Zafron Restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant in Sandy Springs.Regardless if you're visiting for lunch or dinner, Truva's Mixed Grill is the way to go if you want to try a lot of items and have a feast. At the time of our visit, the Mixed Grill was designed for one ($35), two ($62), and four ($120) people. Since there were three of us, we got two plus one. The portions were generous. We had leftovers. What impressed me the most was how perfectly each meat was cooked, especially the chicken kebab. The chicken kebab was made out of chicken breast. It was lightly seasoned and chargrilled. Each piece was consistently moist and tender. It's the best chicken kebab I can remember. The other meats - adana (hand-chopped lamb), beef kebab, and shaved doner (beef and lamb) - were terrific as well. All were very flavorful and savory. The adana tasted "clean" (no noticeable game). The doner, which is Turkish, is similar to gyro (Greek). Doner is the OG -- shaved meats like gyro and al pastor (Mexican) evolved from it. I found Truva's doner to be tougher and meatier than gyro, but still quite soft and delectable. The beef kebabs were like mini hot, juicy steaks. Really tasty. The Turkish rice was a fluffy white rice pilaf that tasted great because it soaked up a lot of the meats' juices. That and I believe it was also buttered. The grilled tomatoes, peppers, and side salads (with dressing) were fresh and nice accompaniments. The Mixed Grill also came with a couple sauces, one was tzatziki (yogurt) and the other was roasted red pepper aioli, made in-house.The Octopus and Mutebbel (mutabbal) were fantastic, as was the complimentary housemade tomato sauce they gave us with housemade pita bread to start. I believe the tomato sauce they gave us was Ezme. It's a Turkish red sauce that's kind of like salsa. The pita was appetizingly thick and had some bounce. It was yummy by itself. You can buy Truva's homemade tomato sauce in 10-ounce jars for $10 per jar. You can also buy their aioli. The Octopus dish was packed with flavor and the quality was excellent. To nitpick, the octopus could have been bigger. Mutabbal is similar to, but not the same as, baba ghanoush.Service was wonderful. Unfortunately, I missed our server's name. Otherwise, I would've put in a good word for her here. There was another person, a manager-looking guy, who took great care of us too.The ambiance is elevated casual. They have indoor and outdoor seating (small covered patio).Truva has a dedicated parking lot that it shares with other businesses in the same building. Parking is paid during certain days/hours. Follow the instructions on the signs. When in doubt, just park, go inside, and ask if parking is paid at the time of your visit. During our Sunday afternoon visit, it was free."
"Roughly 9 years ago I came to this spot to get some shawarma. Back then I gave a 4 star review assuming something could go amiss. Needless to say after all these years this place does NOT disappoint. I had a lovely shawarma plate and watched about a dozen people of all races, genders, creeds etc order their food without one look of disappointment. This place is a staple of the Atlanta proper community and wish it never changes and serves the community to its best. Love this place."
"--Location/Parking--Plenty of parking in the strip mall.--Ambience--A cross between a pizza restaurant with Greek decoration adorning the walls and space throughout the restaurant. --Service/Staff--Staff was helpful in recommendations and explaining the menu. Since I am not familiar with Greek food this was helpful in my order--Food/Products--I recommend the lamb as your meat choice. The taste was perfect. If you are getting any platter I recommend the lamb and my 2nd choice of chicken. The fries. I recommend to no or very little salt is how I like it.--Capacity--Plenty of seating to hold 30 plus parties of 4. --Overall--Great Yelp event if you love pizza and mingling with other Yelpers. Thank you Alexa for finding this hidden gem."
"Our group of four enjoyed Zafron Restaurant. This is a good, more casual and slightly more affordable alternative to popular Rumi's Kitchen, which is just a few blocks south on Roswell Road. Zafron serves Persian food. We heard good things about it, so we decided to check it out and left pleased.Zafron is located in a freestanding building across the street from Sandy Springs City Hall. It was previously known as Flavor Restaurant and years before that, Flavor Cafe Bakery. Flavor completed its rebrand as Zafron in March 2015. The restaurant has its own free dedicated parking lot. There are a couple other small businesses on-site, but the lot is mainly for Zafron customers. We visited for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was busy, but not slammed. I got the feeling that a lot of locals like this place. I booked our group's reservations using OpenTable, which I like because of the dining points I can accumulate to redeem for restaurant discounts and Amazon gift cards. Resy and other booking platforms don't offer rewards for dining out.Inside, the dining room had nice, but not lavish, decor from floor to ceiling. We sat at one of several curved booths that ran down the center of the space. There were multiple seating areas including a fully-enclosed patio in the front and a semi-private large group table, next to some wine racks, in the back. This place appears equipped to handle big parties. There was also a bar, pastry display, and a small outdoor patio. The lunch menu, which is available weekdays only, had a good selection of dishes to choose from. They included several of the dinner and weekend staples like Lamb Kabob ($25 lunch, $32 dinner) and Zafron (Barg) Chicken ($14 lunch, $26 dinner). Exclusive to the lunch menu are the wraps ($12 each), where you can order a small variety of Zafron's meats in a wrap with veggies. That said, I think you can order off the dinner menu during a weekday lunch if you want. That's what I did because I wanted to try both the Tenderloin (Barg) Kabob ($20 lunch) and the Koobideh Kabob ($15 lunch). Our server told me I could get both if I ordered "Soltan's Feast," which is only available on the dinner menu. I actually got a lunch price for Soltan's Feast, $25 vs $35. I presume Zafron's portions are smaller at weekday lunch. Here's what we got:Starters* Mirza Ghasemi ($8) - smoky eggplant, tomato, onion, garlic, extra virgin olive oil* Muhammara (Hummus) ($6) - red bell pepper, garlic, cumin, walnut, extra virgin olive oilEntrees* Khoreshe Badenjoon ($12) - eggplant and tomato beef stew, subbed a veggie kabob for basmati rice (+$5)Feast* Chenjeh ($20) - prime sirloin kabob served with braised green beans in a tomato sauce mixed with basmati rice* Fire Roasted Salmon ($15) - marinated fresh salmon served on a bed of "zafron," fava beans, and dill rice* Soltan's Feast ($25) - combination of one Koobideh kabob (ground brisket) and one Tenderloin (Barg) charbroiled filet mignon kabob with smoked tomato and "zafron" basmati riceEverything that I tried was good. Our meal came with complimentary pita bread, fresh raw vegetables, feta cheese, and walnuts. The veggies included slices of radish, cucumber, and tomato, plus herbs like basil, mint, and tarragon. These were nice to munch on with our meal. All of the dishes were presented beautifully. Both of the starters were tasty. The Mirza Ghasemi was served in a cast-iron pan. The garlic was fried crisp. Both the Mirza Ghasemi and the Muhammara had nice texture and flavor. The Muhammara wasn't the best I've had, but it was still good. The Chenjeh and Soltan's Feast were yummy. The sirloin (Chenjeh) was a little too salty, but otherwise fine. My favorite was the Koobideh (ground brisket) Kabob. The meat was tender, moist, and flavorful. Really savory. In contrast, the Tenderloin (Barg) Kabob was somewhat dry. It tasted much better with a sauce. The Chenjeh came with a white sauce. I think it was a yogurt sauce, like tzatziki, but my wife doesn't think so (she's better at identifying foods/ingredients than me). Our table was also given a side of tangy sumac powder/spice.The various rice dishes that accompanied the meat and fish were appetizing and satisfying. I liked them a lot. The veggie kabob that we had subbed in for one of the rice sides was big, hearty, and impressive. It came stacked tall with charbroiled eggplant, squash, zucchini, mushroom, red bell pepper, and white onion. Unlike the meat kabobs, the veggie kabob was actually served on a thick metal skewer. The meat kabobs were served off-skewer (normal).Service was on point. Jannifer was our server and she was great. She was very nice and attentive. The other staff we interacted with (hostess, other server) were polite. Despite a busy weekday lunch service, our entire order came out in a reasonable amount of time.I would return. The business name "Zafron" is a play on saffron, the spice widely used in Persian cuisine."
"I give Fia Restaurant 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. This restaurant lived up to the hype, for the most part. For a nice night out in Buckhead, this place fits the bill. The cuisine is New American and Mediterranean.Fia is pronounced "fee-uh." It's Italian for flickering flame or little fire. The restaurant opened in December 2019 inside the Burgess Hotel, a boutique hotel. The hotel's co-owner and executive chef is named Burges Jokhi. Burgess and Burges. Coincidence? Burges owns the place with his partner, Freny Jokhi. The hotel bar, Mr B Bar, was named after Freny's dad, Keki Bunshah. The Burgess used to be a Wingate by Wyndham. Initially, the Burgess was part of Wyndham's Trademark Collection. Now, it's in Marriott's Tribute Portfolio.Hotel restaurants are notoriously hit or miss. I'm happy to report Fia is one of the best hotel restaurants I've dined at in metro Atlanta and one of the better ones anywhere. Fia was named a Yelp Top 100 US Restaurant in 2022 (#32).Reservations are recommended. It was packed during our Saturday night visit. Those without a reservation either had to sit "outside" at the bar or wait until one of the last seatings of the night. That night, I noticed a walk-in party return to be seated around 9pm. Book your reservation using OpenTable and earn dining points which can be used to redeem restaurant discounts, Amazon gift cards, hotel stays, and more.Free self-parking is available on the sides and back of the hotel. For a hotel of this "caliber," the parking did strike us as a bit sketch at night. And getting from the parking lot to the front of the hotel involved walking onto the driveway and into traffic. Not the safest. The restaurant and hotel are gorgeous. It's a distinct, eclectic mix of both traditional and modern design, decorated with art from different cultures. It sounds gaudy, but they managed to pull it off. The international flair reminds me of The Consulate restaurant in Midtown. Fia's dining room is cozy and offers a variety of tables and seating -- white tablecloth, wood and stone surfaces, booths, banquettes, and armchairs. There's also an outdoor patio.During our dinner visit, the drink menu featured over a dozen cocktails from Mr B Bar plus wine and bottled and canned beer. The food menu had many salads and apps (e.g., Warm Goat Cheese & Tomato Tartlet, Grilled Giant Prawn), a handful of entrees (e.g., Braised Lamb Shank), several woodfired items (e.g., A5 Wagyu Ribeye, Bell & Evans Moroccan Chicken), and large sides. Here's what three of us had:Specialty Cocktails* Coconut Pecan Old Fashioned ($17) - coconut-washed bourbon, spiced pecan demerara, bitters* "Dirty" Martini ($18) - vodka, Italian vermouth, olives* Base Camp ($17) - vodka, rose nectar, grapefruitWines by the Glass* Red / Cabernet ($17) - Katherine, Alexander Valley, CA 2021Salads & Appetizers* Beets & Burrata ($18) - sherry balsamic vinaigrette, basil oil, pickled onion, toasted pistachios* Pan-Seared Potato Gnocchi ($19) - beurre monte, white truffle, mushrooms, Parmesan cheese* Pork Belly ($17) - Jack and Coke glaze, heirloom grits* Charred Octopus ($19) - roasted pepper, artichoke, olives, capers, lemon, olive oil* Grilled Ciabatta ($7) - tomato-rubbed, chimichurriEntree* Pan-Seared New England Scallops ($37) - saffron risotto, artichoke, oven-roasted tomato, basilFrom the Fia Woodfired Grill* 8 oz Center-Cut Filet ($49) - cognac peppercorn sauce* Whole Branzino ($42) - fennel-citrus saladShareable Side* Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($13) - pear gastriqueDessert* Bananas Foster ($15) - vanilla gelatoEverything was excellent, both in taste and presentation. The plating was beautiful. Each dish was a work of art. The attention to detail was evident. The tableware was unique and artistic, some with colorful floral patterns. My favorites dishes were the Pan-Seared Potato Gnocchi, Pork Belly, and Pan-Seared New England Scallops. Between the mushrooms and cheese, the gnocchi dish was packed with umami. Buttery too, but not excessive. And the gnocchi had perfect texture. The quality of the pork belly was terrific. The meat and grits were delicious. The scallops were fresh and plump -- among the best I've had in recent memory. Together with the risotto and veggies, the dish was really tasty. If you like burrata and octopus, I recommend both the Beets & Burrata and Charred Octopus appetizers. They didn't disappoint. The beets were well seasoned. The octopus was tender and flavorful. The Grilled Ciabatta turned out to be a great recommendation from our server. It worked better as a side than an app. The Whole Branzino was well executed and fileted to have barely any bones, which I appreciated -- another wonderful dish. The Bananas Foster wasn't finished tableside, but was still fantastic. The drinks were superb as well. I enjoyed the "Dirty" Martini in particular and I usually don't like martinis. Our server Zoe S was amazing. She was very friendly and attentive."
"Interesting restaurant! Decent amount of vegetarian options. The service was phenomenal, our server Axl was so polite and attentive. The salad was a bit small, I thought it would be a bit bigger. The hummus was pretty good! My husband had the swordfish special and he wasn't terribly excited about it. The restaurant decor was very unique, there is a peacock room and comics on the wall. Worth a visit!"
"all I can say is yum, yum, and yum! Such good salads. I recommend the mixed green salad and toasted spinach ravioli. the ravioli is in a puff pastry and it's so good and really cute interior also so beautiful. I LOVE IT!!!!"
"Solid late night spot. If you need a drink at 230a, this is the spot for you. They have kabobs (obviously) and other Mediterranean type dishes (hummus, grape leaves, shawarma, etc). They do hookah, of course, and you can do inside and outside smoking if you need to. They share a tent with a Mexican spot so you can toggle between either of possible.Parking is not free, but it's only a couple of dollars to park. If you are picking up carry out, you may still use to pay for parking ... Just be aware... But it depends on what time of day I came in after club hours and it hit the spot. Got the chicken and fries. Both of them were good. Maybe it's because everybody was hungry after leaving the night of adventure, but the food definitely hit. The chicken was well seasoned, the fries were hot and crisp. If you're on a late night tip and need something, this is your spot to go to!"
"This is a nice spot in Sandy Springs, great décor with indoor and outdoor seating and free parking. The staff was friendly, we just had their small plates. The Brussel sprouts I wasn't a fan of them they didn't have much flavor. I enjoyed the mac n cheese and the cilantro lime chicken skewers."
"Kept it light for my visit. You know it's summer & I gotta get in shape & all that. Yeah, I know you're supposed to do that before summer but hey give me a break I'm trying! Anywho, food was bomb. Had the bowtie noodles without protein & The Vegan with a bottle of wine. Everything was flavorful & I shared with someone else. Yum-me! Parking was validated woohoo. If you're into Mediterranean food or trying to get on a healthy kick go ahead do yourself a favor & grab & bite. You're welcome."
"My @diningoutatl Passbook is my go to method of trying New restaurants in the city and surrounding areas.Last night I tried @athenspizza for the first time and I can definitely see why it's a neighborhood favorite.@athenspizza clearly has a regular crowd. Each evening offers a different special. Monday was "Baked Spaghetti" ; which was ordered. I also wanted to try the Mediterranean Pizza and ordered a small 6in.The pizza was absolutely delicious and the crust was divine! The spaghetti contained mushrooms which I enjoyed but, if you don't like them you'll need to request for them to be omitted. Great food and friendly service! I'll definitely be back!"
"This place is where it's at! Located in the Piedmont Area of Atlanta, it's a very popular venue for both locals and out of towners. We decided to drop in for brunch around 1pm and it was packed both inside and out and the doors opened at 12p. There is a 2 hour seating limit per party, you can sit outside or purchase bottle service inside. However, the more bottles you buy, the more your time limit extends. After 7 bottles and Lord knows how many hours of "brunchin", this day was a blur. All I will say is that the music/DJ here was different. The food was fresh, seasoned to perfection also. The lobster Mac n cheese w the fried shrimp is a must try. It's packed w so much flavor. The hot wings here are mouth watering too. There's so much I want to say about the food and service but for some reason it's not all coming back to me at the moment (still drunk 2days later). There's hookah here also if that's your thing. Honestly I enjoyed this place the most and will make sure I drop in every time I'm in the city. 5 stars for the venue5 stars for the food and service5 stars for the DJ15 stars total. Let's get it!!!"
"WOW! I'm middle eastern and grew up eating Mediterranean food daily and this place WOW'd me. The chicken shawarma has so much flavor and is so tender it melts in your mouth. My husband got the lamb shank and said it was a must and it just falls off the bone it's so tender. They come with rice, a small salad, pita and hummus. Everything was so good. Be careful with that spicy red sauce is it SPICY! I couldn't handle it, but my husband enjoyed it. Overall will definitely come back. Parking is paid structure parking"
"Lunch was so delicious, what a beautiful place! Fresh baked goods baked on-site. Trays of Baklava galore, breads, etc.... The smell of grilled chicken and lamb catches you in the parking lot.Order a plate but be prepared to share because the portions are huge. Rice, pita, hummas, cucumber salad, babaganoosh, fresh herbs. There is so much to go with the delectable meat of your choice. The lamb was amazing, so I'm told. My chicken shawarma was tasty, and the hummus smooth as silk. The falafel not so great, small and dry, but everything else was amazing.Save room for the Baklava! Or take some home like we did."
"I found the food to be good...."Good", is the best word. The restaurant states they are Atlanta's best Mediterranean food, however, I disagree with that statement. The food is tasty just not the best.I'm just used to this place called Green Olive located OTP that has the Mediterranean food game on lock...That seems to be a trend with Int'l food in Atlanta. The best is OTP where all the diversity is. Lol!....I ordered Beef Soltani, and an order of Labneh. Like I mentioned, the food was tasty. Fresh and good flavor. No mistake here, I was just hoping to see some Nihari on the menu and a few other items as well as maybe more burst of flavors and seasonings?!?!Aside from the food, the service is 100. Greeted, taught about a few things on the menu and just good overall service. I def will be back as I live in the neighborhood, and the food is tasty, just not the best!"
"I stopped in here today for first time and it was good I must admit and fresh just like what they stand for ,I give it a 10"
"I was in Atlanta for a couple days, staying near Little Five Points. Friday night I took a trip to the Mediterranean from Ali Baba. I picked up a large, delicious bowl of perfectly spiced and marinated lamb, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and feta in yellow rice from the restaurant. Huge pools of Babaganush and hummus were on the side to drop the lamb in. Combined, this was such a special, local dinner treat! And definitely large enough portions of deliciousness for at least two people! If you're local to Atlanta, this place should be on your order list on at least a monthly basis."
"You would think it's impossible for a restaurant to have a 5 star rating with the number of reviews it has but seriously, the hype is real. So when Aviva by Kameel opened at the CODA, I had to check it out. Kameel unfortunately was not there but he had a good substitute filling in - not sure what his name was but he was super friendly and nice and treated me like I was a regular. I decided to go basic and ordered the chicken shawarma with a side of grilled veggies and falafel but it was anything but basic. It was super tasty and who knew they could make "food court" food look so good! Will definitely be back again soon!"
"I fell in love with Grecian Gyro at the College Park location. The same tradition of tastiness carries over to this Tucker location. I had a souvlaki gyro and it just made my night. I can't remember what my wife had, but it was gone before mine was. Another friend had the falafel and paid it some compliments. (And this is a woman who knows her Greek, be assured.) Service was quick, staff made some good recommendations, and the place was relatively quiet. I tried the ice cream thing they serve here. IMO, don't waste your time with this. There's better ice cream to be had not too far away. But for the Greek goodness? I can't wait to go again. Holler if you're coming with."
"If you are in search of flavors that make your tongue tingle with Mediterranean Glee and an added something something then, this is the place for you! Arhiboo Shawarma is a casual go-to, offering a mix of typical Middle Eastern fare, from gyros to falafel, in simple digs. Interior decor pretty minimal, but the food is very tasty. As the saying goes, "good things come in small packages". This small restaurant located in Stone Mountain off Memorial Drive and Rock Bridge Road is the best Mediterranean food. A humble family operated business. The lady that is at the counter is so lovely and friendly. Food is prepared to order, freshly cooked and you can see their kitchen from the counter while ordering and paying your bill.My first time coming here, went with a colleague of mine and we ordered the meat combination Shawarma plate which comes with two kinds of meats of your choice with Basmati, Rice, Greek Salad and Pita Bread. I choose for Lamb and Chicken as the meats. Large portions of meal, tendered meat, very flavorful and tasty food with minimal wait time. Basmati Rice was soft and fluffy just the way rice should be. They give you a ton of rice, get some extra sauce though. This place is just a counter seating. It is really a take out place with few places to sit. They have few chairs outside, you can use that when the inside is full or if you like to enjoy the patio style. Reasonable and affordable prices. Clean place and they also have drive-thru available. Go eat at this place, you won't be disappointed. As this place is in a shopping plaza, their is ample free parking in and around the restaurant. I would really recommend this place to give a try. I will be sure going back."
"Small little commercial gyro spot. Its not an authentic gyro but definitely does the trick and you get alot of food for your money.I will be back"
"Yes yes yes if you love greek stop here. I wanted something good and quick. The food is both, the service is quick. I had a chicken (spicy) wrap. Very reasonable prices as well. They offer combos, salads, gyros and have different daily specials.Stop by"
"Coming for the hummus bowls and the pizza, I'd say it was a five star hummus and a three star pizza. I got my hummus with garlic confit on top, and it was a beautiful bowl. The pita on the side was delightfully browned and spiced, and the pickled vegetables on top were carrots and celery and peppers rather than anything weird and distracting. The garlic was ample and was delicious without overpowering the rest. The hummus was smooth and salty. The pizza was a thin crust that wasn't nearly as good as the pita that came with the hummus, and quite minimal toppings. They have a nice oven, but the result didn't impress me. I also landed some cookies on the house that they said were going to be discarded otherwise as the week was over.It was a small shop without a ton of ambiance. I would come back to get the hummus another way, I'll likely go elsewhere for pizza."
