Tabanco is a delightful Spanish restaurant nestled in Coral Gables, offering a rich tapestry of authentic flavors that truly transport you to Spain. My recent visit was a culinary journey worth sharing!First off, let's talk about their new dishes. The Stuffed Mushrooms, filled with Spanish chorizo, were an absolute delight. Each bite was bursting with savory goodness, perfectly complemented by the freshness of the mushrooms. The Spanish Mussels were another highlight - full of flavor and cooked to perfection, they were a seafood lover's dream. For my main course, I opted for the Ibérico Solomillo, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The meat was impeccably cooked, tender, and flavorful, showcasing the quality of Ibérico pork. Paired with Pave Potatoes, it was a match made in culinary heaven. Now, Johnny couldn't stop raving about the Braised Oxtail on top of creamy Manchego Polenta. He described it as a dish where every bite melted in your mouth, the oxtail tender and richly flavored, and the polenta providing a creamy, comforting base.To cap off our meal, we indulged in their traditional Spanish Churros. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and dusted with just the right amount of sugar, they were the perfect sweet ending to our evening. The ambiance at Tabanco is warm and inviting, with attentive service that enhances the overall dining experience. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado of Spanish cuisine or someone looking to explore new flavors, Tabanco is a must-visit. Each dish tells a story of craftsmanship and passion for Spanish culinary traditions that are hard to find elsewhere. In summary, if you're in Coral Gables and craving authentic Spanish cuisine, Tabanco should be at the top of your list. You won't be disappointed!

This is a place I really wanted to like, although we have many Spanish restaurants in the area, none of them market themselves as "home style" Spanish cuisine. They have a very simple minimal menu, which should make those few dishes spectacular. Well, unfortunately they are not. I should have known when we entered a Coral Gables restaurant on a Friday night at 8pm, and we were the only people there. The restaurant is small and unassuming, which gives it a distinct appeal. The attention and service were mediocre at best, not warranted for the automatic 20% tip, which they add on top of the service fee, for using a credit card and they do not tell you about, and the tax. I brought this to their attention, and they pleaded ignorance. (I have attached a photo of my bill to this review. The food was not impressive, and the dishes were small and expensive compared to other Spanish restaurants in the area, and I am comparing them to very high-end restaurants. All three of their tablas plates stated that it included jamon but our tabla did not, when I asked about it, the waitress said that they didn't have ham today and walked away. Again, not telling us in advance. The overall dining experience was memorable, but not in a good way. I don't mind paying a premium price when the food is good, and the service is great. This restaurant is a "one and done" for me, I will NOT be returning to this place. I do not enjoy giving restaurants a bad review and you will see this by my history of reviews on Yelp, but they did nothing to try and remedy my concerns when I brought them up. I don't know if the owners are first time restauranteurs, but they need to improve greatly if they wish to survive in Miami.

After seeing a review on Instagram two friends and myself decided to try it out - SAVE YOURSELVES !! 1 - the only thing that we ordered that was good was the octopus appetizer.. the croquetas were mediocre at best, just no flavor. The pan con tomate was ok we asked for salt just to give it what it was missing and only after 4 attempts did we finally get salt.2 - we ordered to main entrees to split - the pork was chewy and honestly tasteless . The huevos rotos had minimal amount of ham and the eggs were over done, not how it's suppose to br served.3 - only on desert and it was crema catalana - which honestly tasted more like Natilla and it was good, the only reason the review got 2 stars. Although they didn't take the time to toast the sugar on top, so it was missing that.If you want good Spanish food in the gables, plenty of other options available for you. Oh you don't get a bill, you have a "server" come with an iPad and show you in the air what you may or may not have charged without an actual receipt.Needless to say the service was "ok*

We had our monthly girls outing. We decided on a new little locale. It was cute & the food was good. The vibe was lacking, as it was Friday 7 pm with a happy hour special, and no one there except us. We ordered 2 bottle of a Spanish wine and shared some tapas. Not cheap.. you can try and advise your experience..

We had the privilege to visit Tabanco for their soft opening and let me just tell you this place was nothing short of delicious. This is a new family owned and operated Spanish tapas restaurant. That's exactly what you get when you come in; a family sense of service. When you walk in you can tell all the details that went into making this place look beautiful. My favorite part was the wine wall. Just this beautiful wall with so much antique bottles of wine. It really makes you feel like you've taken a trip to Spain. The food was amazing. Everything we tried was fantastic. My favorite was a potato with shrimp dish they had us try. It really made me want to go back for more. We also tired a cut of ham (I forgot the name) but I swear that just melted in your mouth. The quality of food was so fresh and you can see how the chefs plated every dish with love and admiration. The chefs (also family I might add) are from Spain and come with a few Michelin stars under their belts so you know everything you are about to have here is going to be great. The wine! I can't believe I didn't start with this sooner because I love me some wine! I loved the Cab they served. My husband and I had two cups and I think alone I would have had the whole bottle. If you want to support and family restaurant please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this new gem in Coral Gables.

Food is really tasty and service is great. They had live music, a flamenco guitar artist performed on a Sunday evening. This is a family owned restaurant with a special touch.

We were in Coral Gables to pickup our visas for Spain and decided to try this Spanish restaurant that was close to our hotel. I believe we were the only English speakers but the server was very patient with our limited Spanish and tried to help where possible. The food was delicious, as was the wine. We had a tapas and then dinners. Roling Lopez was setting up for to play guitar and sing. We returned to sit at the bar after a walk and enjoyed every minute. He was very good. We felt like we were back in Spain.
