"Don't write this off as another taqueria. This is a new casual El Salvadorian and Mexican restaurant just off of 24th Street Bart, which is exactly how my hungry self accidentally found this place. This is new as in 'three months old' and likely a place I will visit again. Tacos and burritos, yes. But, if you come here, you are missing out if you don't try the El Salvadorian or Oaxacan tamales. Oh. My. God. Their pupusas are also stars, here, as is ... hold for it, their *housemade mole*! You read that correctly. If you've ever made mole from scratch, you know the work and ingredient list this entails. Even the tomatillo and chipotle sauces are housemade. Oh, I was happy and full when I left this place. I wish I had taken more photos before I devoured my El Salvadorian tamale. Chicken, potatoes, masa in a banana leaf... oh this is my love language."
"I liked Cafe Rito at Westin St. Francis Powell Union Square. It's a nice place to sit and have some snacks or drinks..as well as a meal like pasta. It's open 630 to 10pm. Cafe Rito is open and nice to hang out and spend time. It's at Union Square like shopping businesses. I haven't stayed at Westin St. Francis but you know me and I have stayed at hotels in San Francisco during my life. The security guard was not clear on my activities at this hotel."
House made hummus, thinly sliced avocado, bagel seeds and chili-lime seasoning. Served on toasted sourdough with a side of lemon. A house favorite!! Delicious!! Try it!!

"Delicious Ritual Coffees, and Matcha Lattes. Theire Avocado Toast is also ny favorite in town. Friendly and fast service!!"
"Not the best location. I ordered a pastrami sandwich here a while ago and the woman taking the order said, we don't serve pork here. I blinked and thought, did I hear wrong? What?!? So random. I didn't order anything with pork... I brushed it off at the time because I was busy and in a hurry to leave. But it was such a weird vibe. I recently ordered a turkey club while at work and it was just okay. Probably won't be back at this location."
"Love what they did with the space and menu! Not a great photo of the remodel (I'm shy to stand up and take more photos) but they have nice bench seating with OUTLETS below it! I grew up in the neighborhood and there's just never been a good place to do laptop work in this part of town, and barely any cafes to start with. Excited to come back soon! The people here are the sweetest ever and it has strong local vibes."
"Momma's for breakfast any day and especially on your birthday. The staff got the whole place singing. Eggs Benedict was some of the best. Excellent fluffy pancakes. Make sure to ask for the homemade jelly. Great black coffee and some of the best coffee cake you will ever have."
"Sandwiches were great- my only my ask is to double check the order, we got two sandwiches w/o jalapeños and they somehow still added them in, that's all- please just check - especially for those of us with allergies. Otherwise super tasty sandwiches and amazing coffee!"
"New cafe that opened 5 weeks ago. Beautiful space and ambiance. Spectacular pink tree in the middle of the cafe and plenty of comfy seating. The chicken empanadas were delicious. I look forward to going back for the coffee and non-caffeinated drinks, some of which are Peruvian inspired. Very friendly barista. Great to have such a sweet spot in the neighborhood!"
"The viral Korean Egg Sando in the Bay Area! @toastnegg_usa has the most fluffy eggs with pillowy bread that makes up the perfect combo. You can choose different pairings like wagyu, mushroom, shrimp, etc for under $13 a sandwich! Fun doesn't stop there as they also have delicious croffles for dessert, crab fries made from real crab, and tasty drinks. Parking can be hard depending the time you go. Inside is cutely decorated with an outside patio and service is really nice! What We Ordered: Wagyu Toast Shrimp Talk Toast Strawberry Croffle Real Crab Fries Iced Matcha Latte"
"If you live and/or work in the Mid-Market area, you probably noticed how much The Market has changed since the pandemic. I remember the day shutdowns were announced and getting caught in techbro mayhem. People were furiously grabbing whatever they could off the shelves...while the vegan area remained fully stocked. Lol!Once bustling, The Market (food hall) today is more of a ghost town but we gotta stay optimistic. We need MORE food options in the area and CTK is coming through with that!CTK Empanadas took over The Market Café location in The Market. Central location since it's to the left of the main entrance. They're a tri-city based business that sells their goods at Farmers Markets. I believe this is their first storefront. Delivery available. M E N UPeruvian-Argentinian Empanadas: Breakfast (pulled pork or chicken sausage), Beef, Chicken, Chicken Chorizo, Ham & Cheese, Mushroom, Sweet Corn + Cheese, Potato, Apple, Etc. They also have bagels, toast, and tamales. For drinks, there's coffee, soda, oj, and chicha morada (peruvian purple corn).F O O D* Breakfast Empanada - Chicken Sausage w/ eggs ($7) // 3.5 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/2ap77y85Compact empanada with a light, flaky crispy shell with well-spiced, savory chunks of ground chicken sausage and pieces of scrambled eggs. Wish it was warmed through. * Classic Beef Empanada w/ potatoes ($7) // 3.5 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/4drbvkjkThe pastry shell was too thin to support the filling so unfortunately, the empanada started to fall apart upon picking up. Generous filling of ground beef and potatoes. * Pork Tamale w/ salsa criollo ($6.25) // 4.5 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/4ktd768yBest value item, the tamale was delicious and satisfying with a firm, spongy texture. The masa had good corn flavor. Filled with spiced pulled pork. The creamy rocoto sauce and acidic red onions (salsa criollo) brought everything together. Also, includes a piece of buttered ciabatta. * Sauces:- Huacatay Sauce: Creamy and mild. I think more garlic and herbs would help to cut through the richness of the savory fillings. - Rocoto Sauce (extra spicy): I liked this one better, as it has more flavor but def could use more heat. IMO, it was barely spicy. S E R V I C EVery kind owner with prompt service. He was receptive to feedback. A M B I A N C EPlenty of seating around the market and food hall. Dog-friendly outdoor seating in the courtyard with a firepit. P A R K I N GThere's a parking garage half a block away on Jessie (alleyway). Overall, props to the owner of CTK Empanadas for taking a chance with The Market and I hope this is the start to more food vendors moving in. If you're looking for your empanada or tamale fix, give this new business in The Market a try!"
"From start to finish everything went great. Sat outside in the parklet (with heat lamp) as requested in the reservation and watched the passersby which is quite spectacular given the neighborhood. The food was excellent including the stews (beef & lamb) and the ribeye, and the service too - very friendly and didn't rush us out. Will be back for sure."
"The view of the water was very nice, especially after working all day. The atmosphere was warm & welcoming. Server was very friendly and efficient. Food was tasty and completely filled us up with just 3 appetizers. Overall, it was a great experience on a sunny late afternoon."

Tried this place 2x now walking to and from 24th Street BART and I think it's a hidden gem. Delicious Oaxacan Tamales filled with chicken mole and delicious home style soups. Service is excellent and friendly. The restaurant has a lot more room in the back and an outside patio that looks inviting on a sunny day. Worth a try.

Small cafe located inside the Westin St. Francis. Cafe is open from 6:30 am - 10pm. This cafe offers a limited menu for breakfast. We decided to use our $25 credit we received just for our one night stay. The credit was good for 2 coffees and 2 pastries. We ordered a macchiato and latte. I need to add sugar to my drink because it tasted bitter. Once it was sweetened it sort of tasted a little bit better. I also got the almond croissant. It was good. And my favorite pastry to get for breakfast now.

Ordered the Avocado Toast with a side of bacon. Extra points for the tasty, not very toasted, but holds up to eating by hand.Looks like the entire menu is grab & go. The avocado toast was beautifully presented topped with a lovely purple nasturtium, sans the utilitarian foam container. Menu has an abundance of bagel combinations, as well as some fine coffee & tea. Inside is 4 cafe tables, facing the windows, marble tops, cherry red stylish chairs. Theres a long banquet bench hugging the picture windows. Found out the cafe rents space in the Infinity Hotel by Hilton. That explains the classy chairs & fire pit outside. There's seems to be a 50/50 mix of locals, & tourists from the many motels (really cool vintage neon signs) dotting Lombard St. This is not the famous twisty portion of the street, rather, on a busy, noisy throughway towards the Golden Gate Bridge. I'll be returning to Twisted St. cafe for sure.

It's wise to consume something once you've woken up from a night out in the City, and Wise Sons helped quell a bit of our hangover with their solid sandwiches. You order at the counter before receiving a number for either dine-in or to-go. I ordered an Everything Bagel with their Oatly Cream Cheese Alternative and some veggies, and it ended up being a solid breakfast for me. It's an absolute must to toast your bagel - otherwise, it is a crime against humanity.I'm happy they offer a vegan cream cheese option though it would've been great if they made an in-house schmears similar to their other ones. If I need a quick bagel fix and I'm in the area again, I won't hesitate to stop by this deli.

To those of you that have heard of the Ozzy Osbourne song, "Mama I'm Coming Home", it paints a clear picture on this place for numerous reasons. One reason is that I was born and raised in San Francisco and another reason is that my mom is a native San Franciscan. Which takes me to arguably one of the most popular and well-known mom-and-pop breakfast joints in the city. This is none other than "Mama's on Washington Square". This place goes back... way back in time to the early-1950's when they opened their doors. Located in the heart of North Beach and just a block away from St. Peter & Paul Church, this place is situated directly on the corner of Stockton and Filbert St's. Parking can be extremely challenging due to the abundance of restaurants and businesses. My advice is to use rideshare, Muni, walk, or bike. However, my lady and I found parking only a block away. Reason being is that we came here the day after Thanksgiving (on Friday 11/29/2024) at 9:30am when the streets of San Francisco were empty. It felt eerily similar to the pandemic (from early-2020 to early-2022).I will say that the interior of this place is tiny (which on any other morning can lead to long wait times). Based on the size of this place, I am thinking Mama's can only fit about 30 guests at any given time. There was a nice enclosed outdoor area as well as a separate table/chair/umbrella; but with the chilly morning, we wanted to dine inside. Upon entry, we literally walked right up and placed our orders. I can imagine this place can get quite chaotic but our experience was very smooth. Much of the decor has a very quaint old-school feel to it as if you're in a no-frills diner from the 1950's/60's.I ended up going simple by ordering two eggs (over easy), Italian sausage link, sourdough toast, and home-fried potatoes. My lady went with the exact same thing but with bacon as her side. Both of our meals came with a side of their homemade raspberry jam. We both opted for fresh squeezed orange juice. Total time after we ordered to when our food arrived was roughly 10 minutes; not bad at all considering it had gotten much busier after we arrived. The young man who brought out our OJ's and meals was very accommodating. Even one of the ladies (who I believe was a manager) asked to make sure everything tasted to perfection. As far as the food, this place was solid. Definitely a 4.5 out of 5. Prices are higher than most breakfast spots but that's to be expected in a heavily visited area like this. The sourdough toast had that San Francisco flavor while the homemade jam was to die for. I tried some of her bacon and it was a bit too cooked and crispy for me. However, the sausage was perfect. All in all, "Mama's on Washington Square" is a San Francisco staple that I highly recommend. Portions are huge, service is above average, and the food will fill you up. My rating, 4 stars.

I have to write a positive review because the person working the counter was super friendly and even though added espresso to matcha without asking, she fixed it and gave me a different cup. Super friendly made me so welcome The matcha may not have been my taste, but it seems the stars of this shop are the coffees and the friendly service.

"The coffee and bagels here are always fresh. You can tell by the texture and smell how great the bagels are, but they have such a great selection too. It's a lil quant place not really setup for sitting and dining."
"Oh my goodness gracious! These are heavenly After going to the dog beach at Pacifica we were craving some delicious sandwiches. These were it! The sandwiches are massive! Enough for two people if you want to share it. If you are pickle lover you will love this place or if you are not pickle lover. YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE. The pickle are little different and have sour taste but a good sour taste. I ordered the Nico which is pastrami sand which with thousand island sauce and it was bomb. I'll definitely be back to try more sandwiches when I'm in the area."
"My family and I have been dining here for years, even when it relocated to current location.Service is excellent with an extensive menu of breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees!! Took us awhile to figure out!! Ordered the Filipino Tocino , chili con carne omelet, Truck stop special,Joe's special with an appetizer of Sigsig....! All with a generous portion of hash browns w grilled onions -a "must have" here!Just a typical "hole in the wall" (near Ross and Trader Joe's) but serving up delicious Comfort foods with a Filipino flare!!"
"My husband & I had an out of body, ratatouille fireworks going off, earth shattering, mind blowing, eye opening experience with the Guinness Beef Stew & side of French Fries. I was simply expecting a subpar yet satisfying pub experience but we were happily shocked to experience the greatness of this spontaneous find. We will be making this a tradition to come & experience this definition-of-a-pub spot. 10/10 would recommend. also martini was on point (i know contradictory since I should've gotten a beer, however my husband loved his guinness) staff was amazing too!"
"A wine bar/café that also serves some beer that has sort of an old-timey European café vibe to it. I came here during happy hour and sat at the bar. I thought their happy hour specials were good and the service from the bartender was great. Great oyster specials too! I came here when my parents and I were in the area cause I just wanted to grab a beer and have a seat for a little bit. I looked over their menu and ordered some oysters along with one of the local craft beers. Really enjoyed my limited time here.I even found out that they were really known for their brunch here on the weekends. I would totally love to come back and experience that. The food from the other pictures look amazing at this place, but we just limited our visit to a few oysters and a beer (we had a big meal not too long prior to this visit)."
"Favorite of mine for brunch or lunch! The pet friendly patio is a plus and the food is consistently satisfying."
"Original Joe's never lets me down. I absolutely adore this place. Is the wait long? Yes. Are there tourists swarming? Yes. But, both those mentions no longer bother me now that I've found the perfect watering hole across the street to have a few while waiting, Tony Nik's. North Beach is alive and it's exciting to see people out and about again. Original Joe's seems to always be a solid meeting hub and spot to dine with groups or gals. Original Joe's has also shared memories of wedding rehearsals, work dinners, and countless post-Giant game moments. Love the old school Italian vibes here, photos that adorn the walls, and dim lighting. Menu-wise ~ the warm sourdough bread and Original Joe's branded butter, house red wine, the chicken parm with side of pasta/signature marinara, cacio e pepe, and butter cake to finish it all off...perfection! The spaghetti and meatballs and Caesar are also solid. These dishes are not for those ready for a bikini shoot next day, rather shareable/family style. Although not going to lie, while pregnant, the chicken parm was not shared :)The tastes, textures, flavors, menu is so comforting and familiar. Not a spot easy on the wallet, but definitely one for the books. Staff just like famiglia."
"I am salivating right now as I am writing this review. Early to rise is one of the best brunch spots in the city right now and it is worth all the hype. I have ordered almost every single thing on the menu and have not had a bad dish whatsoever. I would highly suggest the shrimp and grits, their doughnut of the day, or the French toast or ricotta pancakes (depending on the flavor). They also have great cocktails and the bottle of champagne is also affordable. Early to rise has that comfort food flare with a touch of fanciness. I would highly suggest making a reservation or coming here on a weekday!"
"Tindahan Pinoy is located in a strip mall that has Pho Dao, Đại-Thành Supermarket, Popeye's Louisiana Chicken, T4, etc.The parking isn't too bad. Small place with a couple of shelves full of merchandise for sale. They have a steam table for some food and a kitchen in the back to quickly cook other foods.I came in here to try their breakfast meal of two scoops of garlic rice, a fried egg, tomato & cucumber slices and one meat (Tocino) (3.5/5). It was prepared in about 5-6 minutes. It's usually crowded but not at the time I visited."
"Food is great; service is exceptional. Being from Turkey, not hard to evaluate food quality which we found to be above expectations. Pide was nice and moist; citir manti really delicious. But the service is just exceptional."
"The best museum cafe in the Bay Area, at least food wise. Their grilled cheese and other sandwiches are Michelin standard"
"Amazing food. My friend and I visited for breakfast on two occasions, since it's close by to us. Now it's one of our favorite places for breakfast or lunch. They have a wide variety of Latin dishes and a really nicely decorated indoor and outdoor setup. There is Hispanic art displayed and if you love Latin culture and food, it's a great atmosphere overall. I recommend the aqua fresca and the breakfast burrito is delicious"
"We came here on a semi-rainy day with our dog and sat in the large back yard! I was craving seafood so we got the fish tacos Baja style grilled (yum! The red cabbage was almost creamy) and the fish and chips were a bit more decadent but with a hell of a lot of fish. We also split a grilled cheese which was surprisingly delicious and came with a side of fries. We chose to get the vegetable of the day which was as Brussels sprouts. They were topped with Parmesan and were a good attempt although a little greasy for my liking. The woman at the counter was super nice and answered all my questions about the different fish options. You can even order a side of cod on a salad if you want something super healthy. I thought the backyard was nice and there was a fire pit. There was some seating with an overhang which is good for rain. You pick up the food yourself and get your own silverware. Overall, would come back."
"Once again, this has become my go-to place. My friend and I hit up this place for dinner before walking up the street to take in a show at the SF Playhouse. Everything I have had is terrific! This last time I had the salmon dish (crispy, juicy, delicious) Working my way through their menu! Will let you know more as I taste more!Service is always quick and friendly.Ambiance is quiet and spacious."
"The Boys Deli, is a solid deli with some real deal sandwiches that are not only filling but delicious at the same time. The most recent experience we went the Recession sandwich which comes with turkey, prosciutto, and mozzarella plus all the fixings. The sandwich itself was big and honestly the gf and I split one and we were filled up. The dutch crunch was fresh and soft, and the sandwiches are toasted which is always a plus. For $15 it's worth it for the size and amount of meat you get. My pro tips would be to call ahead and order. We were quoted 20-25 minutes, so definitely save time and call ahead. The deli is located in a liquor/grocery store, and they had some nice adult beverage selections to complete our park day. Good news, is that they are opening a new location in San Bruno soon, right next to CutRight Barbershop, which means I won't be having to drive into the city to get my boy deli sandwich fix."
"Service was so attentive and responsive. I came in for a late lunch and ordered the Reuben sandwich. Solid Reuben nothing to write home about but solid. Looking forward to trying their breakfast items. The space isn't huge so I bet they'll have lines for brunch on weekends."
"Located inside The Clancy hotel Radiator serves Equator coffee and a few breakfast items. The coffee is tasty and fairly priced. I get so bored of Star Bucks so Radiator was a great convenience to have in our hotel."
"8:45 am, Monday:What a find, corner location snug up against the Pritzer Psychiatry Building. [Insert joke here].Clean, bright, modern, spacious. The floor to ceiling windows allowed me to keep an eye on my car across the street. You heard me, a parking space! When I visited another cafe 2 blocks away I circled for 20 minutes. Should have taken MUNI.I was lucky enough to meet one of the owner team, Zoey. She took my order, guided me through the menu, super friendly. Zoey, her husband Christian & Mary Carr created this cafe & their original Noe Valley location on the site of a former laundromat.Back to this Dogpatch location. Inside opera & soft rock to keep the energy up. They definitely need to get the word out to the nearby medical megapolis around the corner on 3rd. On my visit I saw a steady stream of the in-the-know sporting name tags saying doctor. Despite the abundant seating, given the time of day, all customers were grab-n-go. Everything is packaged to go, help yourself to napkins, etc. While the plastic tableware usually annoys the heck out of me, the fork & knife, produced with plant starch, were sturdy enough to do the job. I appreciates the serrated edge, better than most metal versions. Ok, enough, let's get to my breakfast. Avocado Toast. Thick slice of yummy artisanal seeded bread. So thick it wasn't really toasted, along with the generous amount of avocado, topped with fried egg & everything seasoning making it pretty difficult to eat with your hands. 1st world problem. The side of bacon was both crispy & chewy perfection. Five star meal. Based on this experience my next stop will be their Noe Valley location. Support Local!"
"It's probably been over 30 years since I've set foot in here. It was my 1st time dining here.My office used to be about five blocks away and I remember picking up food with my coworker to bring back. My uncle who works in the neighborhood mentioned that this was a regular lunch spot for him pre-2020.I came here for lunch on a Wednesday in April a little before noon. Dining alone, I chose a counter seat as my waitress offered me the menu and a glass of water. The dining room was 2/3rd full with varying party sizes in the center area. The menu is more extensive than I remember with breakfast items, full meals, and daily specials. I tried the Alpine burger, medium rare, with a cup of clam chowder (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1jx_vR_fxszRItRl-OWTLg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), for an additional $4.50; the Alpine is described as garnished with Swiss Gruyere cheese & truffle oil sauteed mushrooms. chowder (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=L9-WED-J_hrHTA8_GrwwCw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). burger was a perfect medium rare (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=LeU5Xkt9foBTbTo022Z_Ug&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). At my waitress ' advice and her reminder that it's a half pound burger, I chose to pass on getting a side of fries. Wanting to clean my palate, I added an iced tea (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Vhdtvwjv4tOhTD6dM4WY6w&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), unsweetened, which she refilled a couple of times. As I ate, I looked around the room, from the open kitchen at the window to the variety of decorations, photos, and artwork. In sitting at my counter seat, I found it humorously ironic in looking at my surroundings. To my right was a cow 'mooning me' (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PGDt9IBjmKdxiw-A43G0jA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), to my left a pic of the 3 Stooges above the entrance (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TnxMVoyKSQEmkmISMxmypQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) (the restaurant name is "Mo's" after all), and two cookie jars of a cow and the 3 stooges in front of me (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=No3H84h4bnB_fXtafxGulw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). Big thanks to Barbara who took my order and guided me in ordering my meal. I was happy to have the right amount of food and not taking anything home. I need to read the menu more carefully for my next visit in maybe trying one of their meal specials."
"Service was very slow, but my goodness was our meal and coffee good. This is the kind of place I've missed since returning to SF."
"Oh man, I am so delighted that wise sons moved into this space at the JCC. This is their standard menu (sandwiches, soups, bagels) , which is always great. I am loyal to the veggie deluxe on an everything bagel. But what makes this a really happy thing is that they are set up at the busy JCC, serving all the folks who use this wonderful building during the day. The lobby is alive and welcoming, in a way that it wasn't before."
"This cute little bakery shop located on State Street in Downtown Las Altos makes the best monkey bread in the entire Bay Area! What is monkey bread you ask? Imagine a kouign amann on steroids! More buttery. More sugary. It's crispy and flaky on the outside and moist and soft on the inside. Each piece of the monkey bread breaks off into little small bite sized nuggets covered in the perfect mix of caramelized butter and sugar. Pop one in your mouth and be ready to be in pastry heaven. If you're coming on a weekend, be sure to show up early as they sell out quickly!"
"Just picked up breakfast from here about an hour ago and it was so good I had to write a review right away! I got a breakfast crunch wrap with meat and avocado and it was hefty, filling, and so good. My crunch wrap had chicken, sausage, avocado, cheese, potato, sour cream, and salsa. It was a great amount of food and well flavored, perfect kick for a Southwest flavor to it. It even stayed crispy through my 10 minute walk home. The owner and staff were also super nice. I wasn't a huge fan of their avocado toast previously, but now that I know about this breakfast crunch wrap, I'm gonna need to come back for it. It would make the perfect pre-hike breakfast!"
