Stopped in here because I was in the area and on a quest to find the best tasting quesabirria.Now similiar to other places this quesabirria wasn't that crispy outer thick sheep covered in "queso" but simply corn tortillas with the shredded beef inside. I didn't get regular tacos but would assume the only main difference between those and what I ordered is that the corn tortilla shells might have been dunked in the consume prior to encasing the meat. The broth itself had some onions and a saviory profile, thin and soupy. Salty. Came with a side of rice and refried beans. Overall I'd rate the quesabirria at 3 stars, something this place doesn't really specialize but just has on the menu.The other item I ordered was the chorizo Nachos. They were HEAVY. A lot of weight to them. Much heavier the the other dish I order. Came with an abundance of shredded lettuce and a plentiful amount of refried beans layered in between. Also a descent amount of chorizo, and some jalapeños sliced long ways. Wasn't the greatest nachos ever but did the trick. Total came to $32 ish for the take out.

Best restaurant in Norristown hands down. A true diamond in the rough. I love this place. You know how Frank Underwood's favorite restaurant in House of Cards was Freddy's BBQ Joint. Taqueria La Michoacana is that but for me. Truly underrated and not well known, but the food here is absolutely amazing. I love their fish tacos and egg and chorizo tacos. I haven't found any other place that comes close to having the same quality of tacos. Service is excellent and the margaritas are delicious. Highly recommend!

We were craving tacos and since I had a client meeting not too far away we decided to try this place out. Located on a corner and occupying a large space at the onset of main Street and Arch Streeti n Norristown, La Michoacana was a welcome find. Clean, vibrant, friendly, attentive and inviting would be some great descriptors however I feel that where this restaurant earned a 5 star from me is the fact that the food was fresh and delicious and that the customer experience and care was so thoughtful.We ordered shrimp tacos and quesadilla. The quesadilla came with veg inside, which was mentioned in the menu but we thought it would be along with as opposed to inside. Clearly our mistake and we asked for that to go. The server asked if it was okay and we explained that we made a mistake (my love does not like to eat vegetables) and would like to take it to go. The server took the plate back to the kitchen. When he returned without the to go box he told us they were going to redo it. We protested several times letting him know that it was no problem. It was our mistake and we would gladly take it as I would eat it later (probably give it to a homeless person).He insisted that the kitchen was already redoing the order. So we thanked him and a few minutes later a fresh steak and cheese quesadilla with meat and cheese only, arrived. It was delicious. I know what you may be thinking. It's just a quesadilla, tortilla, meat and cheese right?!?!? No, nope, nadda. I say, each component was well seasoned and fresh and well executed. I feel like a restaurant that can execute the basics of their cuisine on an exceptional manner is the foundation and building blocks of more complicated dishes. Needless to say, the kind care and flavors took my 4 star to a 5.

Hadn't been for years. Went and still excellent if not better. Good prices for what you get. Good service. If you feel like you want to try something different get the chicken in mole (chocolate) sauce. It's the best I've ever had. Also they appear to be able to serve alcohol now. You won't be disappointed.

It had been several years since I've been here. Being in Norristown today, I decided to see if it was as good as I remembered. In short it was.I ordered eggs with Chorizo and my wife had a salad with shrimp. Both meals were outstanding. Plus, my wife had coffee with her meal and she said that it was one of the cups of coffee she had ever had.
