Rouge

We came here after Parc was way overly crowded. We saw the reviews were a bit low but decided to give it a try anyway considering how few other cafe style options there were in the area.We were seated right away inside, which is an open air format restaurant. Very chic and trendy dining area and bar. It wasn't overly crowded and we weren't rushed at all. Very attentive staff that was very honest about the menu items.The menu looked great and almost all of us chose the burger. It was a huge burger that was a bit hard to eat but very good. A little pricey all around on the menu but decent for the cost. Fun spot to dine.

Walked by and loved the atmosphere and music. They had a cute table in the back and seated us right away. Live DJ for lunch with great music. So fun. We only came in for a small bite and it did not disappoint. We had the cheese plate, shrimp cocktail and shared a burger. All were great. The cheese was some unique flavors with an abundance of fruit. The shrimp was classic shrimp cocktail. Nothing special but tasted good. The burger was great! Served with Pomme Frites that were classic delicious French fries. Pros:Good quality foodGreat music Lovely atmosphere No wait at lunch Service was goodCons:Smaller menu so be sure there is something you like before eating here. Did not refill our drinks (iced tea and lemonade) A little pricey for lunch ($24 shrimp cocktail appetizer) Worth stopping in. Truly lovely place right outside Rittenhouse Square.

Came here on a Friday evening around 11:30 and the place was PACKED and for good reason! If you're looking for the perfect blend of a classy bar scene with a 20-30s scene, this is the place to go. Entrance was fast despite the line although space was limited inside. We were able to find bar space easily though and as the night progressed, other tables opened up. The drinks here are definitely top notch at a great price point and I would definitely have ordered more if our night wasn't ending here. The clientele here is also very respectful and some gentlemen even offered us their seats when they saw us standing. I cannot recommend Rouge enough!

Popped in for post dinner drinks! The lighting was low, music was bumping and our server was so nice!

The Rouge had one of the best burgers I've had, and a very good lavender drink. The atmosphere was also very nice. It's definitely a returner.

A really tricky three star rating for Rouge now that I've been twice. I'll start by saying that I DO recommend going and enjoying! It's a beautiful restaurant and the outdoor dining directly adjacent to the park is lovely. I think the easiest way to breakdown why Rouge sits squarely at three stars for me is to share what I've been blown away by and where I've been left a little cold.The Amazing:+ The espresso martini! I am not someone who typically orders this, but whatever they are doing here is working. Perfectly balanced both times I've tried it and hits the spot any time of day.+ The wine list. Whoever is running the beverage program here is my favorite person. Great selection of wine, including options from one of the best FLX wineries Lamoreaux Landing. + The covered outdoor dining.+ The location (duh)+ The very-similar-to-Mcdonalds french fries. I know this could be a big negative for some...I am into it.The less than amazing:+ Menu items on the menu not necessarily being stocked. My dining mate attempted to order both oysters and soup only to find out both were unavailable.+ Only one working bathroom the day I went with a bit of a wait.+ Service can be a bit hit or miss. I think servers cover a large area and many tables at a time so things can get slowed down, especially when dining outside.+ I tried the calamari and caprese hoagie on my last visit and found both to be unremarkable. The bread on my hoagie was quite mealy and tough, which is not my preference for that kind of sandwich. Interestingly enough, La Colombe right nearby also serves up a caprese sandwich and I honestly preferred it.Overall a good spot, and worth heading to if you're looking for cocktails or to enjoy some time at the bar/outside. I will be back many times I am sure, and am happy this spot exists.

Cute little place on Rittenhouse Square overlooking the park. Just wanted a quick snack, so I tried the cheese plate. Yum. I really enjoyed this light snack: three cheeses, jams, fruit, and a toasted baguette. The smoked almonds and dates were a nice touch. Of course, city prices at $24.If you want a nice relaxing sit, give them a try.

I haven't been to Rouge in over a decade but an old friend from out of town asked me to have dinner there. I knew it as a " see and be seen" spot in Rittenhouse square with a great burger. I took a swivel stool at the bar (bad move) and waited for my friend. One blond bartender ignored me-the other walked past me a few times chatted up her co-worker then greeted me and gave me a drink menu. I put my menu down ready to order and nothing. Neither came back over for an uncomfortable moment. (They were Not busy with patrons). The one blond bartender was coughing a lot, I wasn't sure if I should even stay. Summer colds are terrible and I didn't wanna catch one from an inattentive bartender. That same coughing bartender that never even said hello to me, greeted two men next to me as soon as they hit the stools with: "hey guys what ya drinkin?" Once the other bartender came back I ordered a hibiscus margarita, it was fine. I cashed out and joined my friend at a high top. Our server was attentive. The Caesar was great, burger good, and Tuna tartare tacos= bad...they tasted very Un-fresh, I had only one bite. Recap: Lots of tipsy loud folks (at 730 pm), fair-poor bar service, and ok food overall.

everything was amazing, starting from the host all way to the food. The host was extremely nice and attentive. Definitely will be coming back for the amazing service they offered.

Great place the food of all of us was very good. I had a Mahi Mahi sandwich that was on a special menu. The place is nicely decorated but today Wednesday at 6 pm it was over loud. The music didn't help as I went were not able to talk among us. Anyway recommended.
