Me and friend of mine came here before we went to a open mic. The food portions were huge, so be prepared to take something home to go. Warning.: this restaurant is BYOB. We were out of towners, and we had not known that many of the restaurants in Philadelphia are also like this, so we had to order the virgin drinks, which would have been much better with alcohol, but they were still delicious. The location of the restaurant was inside of a high-rise apartment building at the bottom. So it was a little weird getting to the actual parking lot because it feels like you're riding through an apartment complex. Just keep riding around until you see it. The restaurant is huge. It looks as though it was a venue space with someone could throw themselves a dinner party or reception dinner. The staff was pleasant, and very helpful with the menu because somethings are only available on certain days. The menu I posted was a Friday special. The garlic, butter mussels were heavily tripped in the sauce. They were a bit overdone, but I didn't expect anything less. This was not particularly a seafood restaurant.Salmon and shrimp Alfredo pasta was the star of the show. I didn't order it originally but before we left, I had to order it to go because it was so good after taking some of my friends. The Caesar salad was delicious too. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice spot to chill with their own alcohol and wanting to eat on some good good food. I gave it four stars the BYOB should be advertised a little bit more blatantly on their website or Facebook page.

My daughters and I arrived after they stopped seating people and the owner saw us at the door and said come in. Not only did he allow the four to order and eat inside of the restaurant. The food was breathtakingly good, we had the fried chicken, yams, Macaroni and cheese stringbeans and cabbage. Some of the best Soul Food around. It was Good Good!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality and delicious food

This was such a vibe! I searched for an upscale soul food spot my hubby and I can enjoy on NYE & this restaurant did not miss!!! The food was great and reasonable! It's BYOB so that worked out perfectly because our drink preference is normally not at the bar! This place is elegant and welcoming at the same time! I recommend you check this place out! I will be returning because my leftovers were accidentally left in the fridge so I didn't get to really eat my food!!! This means I absolutely have to get back asap! We also tried the lobster Mac not pictured & I saved it to eat the next day and forgot it- grrrr

A nice black owned and operated business that I was more than happy to support. Came for a birthday celebration where there was ample parking. Parking for guest are the spots right past the security gate. I drove around in a circle for a bit before I was flagged by friends showing me where I could park. Also, was a bit confused because it is an apartment complex with the restaurant situated at the entry level. We were the first patrons there and while waiting I was able to watch the football games and even tried ordering a drink, however this is a BYOB establishment.Servers were very friendly but were just off. We were a party of 8 and was it was suggested that we try the pineapple ginger lemonade, I wasn't a fan of this drink and Ive had something very similar. I wasn't able to taste much of the ginger or pineapple but I did like the fruit punch.I ordered the salmon Caesar salad because nothing really jumped out at me from the menu but the salad wasn't bad, it just had too much dressing on it and the salmon was cooked well done. I ordered this at the same time that everyone else ordered their meal but nobody else received their plate after me so I dug in (I was a bit hungry). By the time I was done eating they still hadn't received their meals and at this point we are looking for the servers. It wasn't packed, there were 2 other patrons at the time. Finally meals came out (lamb chops, crab cakes, shrimp and grits and other stuff) w/Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, and yams. The Mac and Cheese was a hard pass for me, just didn't taste right to me and the yams were good but I think my sugar spikes a bit after eating some. I didn't order dessert but a few people did but ended up taking them home, so not sure how it was. One of the complaints was the wait time for people to receive their food and no communication with the table on the time it was taking for it to come out and then we had to remind her what each person swapped out and what they replaced it with because many of the meals had the wrong sides on them.Overall, I was expecting a bit more regarding taste but presentation was everything.

Black owned establishment that I was more than happy to support. Unfortunately I was disappointed from the time I walked in. Smelled of burnt grease. Slow service, extremely slow. It was not crowded. Besides my party there two other Tables. One waitress, while sweet it was obvious that they don't have any type of order when it's comesTo the order of how the tables should be checked on. 45 mins to get our drinks. A hour for a Caesar salad they was suppose to be an appetizer since they had no appetizers being sold that night. Took a hour for our food to come, 4 guest and the food didn't come out at the sameTime. BYOB which is nice. Took so long for our food to arrive, shortly after digging in the lights came on letting us know they were closing. They also charge a 20% auto gratuity to your party. Which Is normally fine, but with how the service is there I sound not have tipped. 3/5 is my rating. Food is a 7/10. Mac and cheese was a hard no for me

A place not visible from the street. You have to enter an apartment complex to get there. It's nicely decorated on the inside. I called ahead for pickup and was told 30 minutes. I arrived a little early. Was geeeted by one hostess at the door. Paid ahead of time and sat and waited for my order. When I Went to check on my order status another hostess was there on her phone (pet peeve) and had to be told by another customer inside that I was there waiting. I know it's not busy, and not much to do but be attentive, you're still there to workFood was delicious, perfectly seasoned! Nice size portions and the the shrimp scampi came with ample shrimp

I had my husband's birthday dinner here on November 19th as I have been here twice prior and really try to support black businesses. The food is amazing, however it is never hot when served. The servers are friendly, but not attentive(even before the pandemic). They will disappear for long periods of time without checking on you. It was a hassle just to get a glass of water for each guest and eating utensils. There is also a $50 charge to bring an outside cake, however its a BYOB restaurant so you can bring alcohol which is great but seems more of a liability than a cake. Although the owner was very friendly in person, whoever is in charge of responding to emails for private events was not very helpful or seemed to not want to be bothered. I requested a phone call but was told email was the preferred method of contact. Overall, the guests enjoyed their food and the ambience.

I had the Cajun fried fish with collard greens and Mac and cheese. I love the fact their side vegetables don't have meat in them . Everything good and well seasoned. I also tried the Rasta pasta with salmon that was delicious but I would rather have my fish whole topped off and not broken up into the dish overall I'm not done with tasting all the delicious food this chef has to offer

The service was horrible. Our party was the only party in the restaurant and it took 10 minutes for the waitress to bring to containers of water and cups and placed them on one table. So we had to get up or pass the containers and cups. I believe a snail moved quicker than she did. I could understand if it wasn't. My nephew asked for hit sauce and never received it. I had turkey wings , rice with a tablespoon of gravy and black eyed peas. You would think you couldn't go wrong with this selection. WRONG, poorly seasoned even when I requested extra gravy and poured over the tasteless wings.
