Ferrante's Meats & More

Service was rather slow but I guess it's best to order prior to going. The sandwich was pretty good but I don't know if I would like to wait over a hour

I have stopped in here many times over the years but never checked in or posted a review because I was a long time friend of the previous owner. The quality of the food and the excellent service was outstanding then and continues to be now. I came today to get some steak sandwich meat which is the best your going to find anywhere. Got some of their Italian bean soup which is also delicious. I thought the breaded eggplant looked good and was not disappointed. It was light and grease free and made a great eggplant Parmesan base. Their butcher shop section is a true gem. It is hard these days to find a good butcher with quality meats. This is that place. Service as always is friendly and accommodating.

My favorite spot in the neighborhood. The staff is like family, they love everyone, the hoagies are fresh and delicious and I'm a hoagie snob so trust me.

First time checking out this place based on reviews of great sandwiches, and they did not disappoint!! I got a hot turkey London broil with broccoli rabe and long hots - so good I may never have to eat pork again. Husband had the Italian which was also great. If you like a crunch in your pickle, they got you. Can't wait to try the sausages I bought.

It is rare that you find this type of market in the neighborhood anymore. The sandwiches are delicious-the meats are always fresh, and a lot of extras make this place stand out. It's my new go-to place! The guy at the register is very nice also!

The best chicken cutlet sandwich with broccoli rabe. Friendly fast service every time I visited.

I normally don't get eat lunch during the day. But today I needed something to give me so extra fuel. I decided to grab a Caesar Salad from this place. They were nice enough to add grilled mushrooms when I asked. I really enjoyed the home made croutons that came on the salad as well. I don't think this neighborhood deli gets the credit they deserve. The menu is packed full with wonderfully deli items both hot and cold. If your looking for a great meal, skip the the grease pits and crappy corner stores. And order something from here. Truly one of the best Deli's in West Philly.

I had a real craving for a hot roast pork. Yelp pointed me to Ferrante's. I had been there a bunch of times to buy meat (fyi, always great quality. Great service), but never had taken advantage of the deli and sandwiches. Shame on me, because this was THE hot roast pork I was looking for. I got mine with long hots and sharp provolone (it's the only way to go, convince me otherwise. G'head, try). Amazing. Delicious, huge sandwich served with a cup of gravy that you should dip the sandwich in prior to every bite. Not because the sandwich is dry, but because you are a flavor hedonist and want more pork goodness in every bite. So, I got 2 hot roast pork sandwiches, one for me and one for a buddy (He loved it. Loved it.) and I also got a chicken parm. Here's the the thing, I just spent a decent part of this review raving about the hot roast pork and how it's a great sandwich (and it really, really is) but what I'm gonna need you to do is save some room in your heart and stomach for this chicken parm. It was delicious. Cheesy, saucy chicken goodness. Amazing sandwich. I guess what I'm trying to say here, folks, is that Ferrante's has a whole menu of sandwiches. I had two off the hot side of the menu and I can't wait to invent an excuse to go back and see what kind of alchemy they can work with cold cuts.One word of advice, the word is out on this place and everyone wants these sandwiches. The smart move is to call ahead. Get your orders in 45-60 minutes early. While you're waiting, buy a steak or some bacon. You will not be disappointed.
