Dwight's Southern Bar-B-Que

Absolutely the best bbq Ribs, not just any BBQ ribs, these are cooked and grilled to perfection EVERYDAY! I take a 25-30 minute ride for these ribs! Let's talk about the sauce,whatever is in this sauce is amazingly flavorful and succulent.The portions are plentiful for the price. The BBQ Turkey wings taste like my Grand-mom made them, this is real comfort food at its finest! The sides are good mac n cheese is my favorite, I don't recommend the candied yams but every thing is not for everybody. This is definitely worth the drive into West Philadelphia!What a gem this place is. The staff is kind and friendly and they are cash only! It's about 10 minutes from the Philadelphia Zoo. The area is not the best but safe!

It's been years since eating ribs from Dwight's. Had a sandwich recently and it was delicious

Let's start off with the not so pleasant attitude from.the order taker..but ok..Dwight's..Philly staple..food used to be good. I told the order taker that I would like macaroni and cheese. He asked if I would like small or large. I said I would like a small. He said, we only have medium?? Then when I got the macaroni and cheese it wasn't filled up to the top, looks like a small to me. And it was $8 wasn't that good either. Never again

This place is the only place in Philly that reminds me of great BBQ from "The South"...yes "The South". The portions provided are great for the price which is charged. My favorites are the BBQ Salmon, BBQ Turkey Wings, collards, mac and cheese, and the potato salad! The potato salad was heavenly!!!!

Someone please, tell me why this place is still in business??? When I walked up to the door, I could smell no smoke. That in itself was a bad omen. I ordered a short end rib sandwich, the time is around 2 pm. Fifteen minutes later, I'm still waiting for my food even though there was only one person in the store other than myself. The customer service is abysmal. I go home to eat the sandwich and I'm totally disgusted after the first bite. The ribs tasted as if they were parboiled then cooked in the oven, not hours in a smoker. The sauce was a sugary ketchup mess. Is this how they barbeque ribs in the South? I think not. It was then I remembered the vow I made several years ago to never patronize this place again. I won't forget the next time I want barbeque!I'd give this place -5 stars if it were possible. If you want real smoked barbeque and good customer service, go to Deke's, Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse or even the Rib Crib, just don't go to Dwight's!

Easily some of the best BEEF ribs and bbq chicken you can get in Philadelphia, but don't expect soul food with a smile!!!! They're not the friendliest bunch, but who CARES? It's takeout only, so get your grub and go!!!!Their mac and cheese and collard greens are DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call your order in, because the place gets pretty crowded on the weekend. Expensive, but worth every penny.

I have been coming here to eat For a long while now And to me this restaurant and this spot is your average run of the mill soul food take out joint. They have a huge menu to choose from offering all the usual soul food standards. Nothing fancy nothing special Just home style food. They have been around for a long time serving food in their community. Prices are reasonable With large portions. They are open late night on weekends. Good spot to go to after a night of clubbing or drinking.

this place sucked the food was not good the chopped beef was nasty and Mac and cheese was cold the service was bad and place the looked crazy inside

Dwight's is a long standing business that has been serving the community well for a number of years. In recent years their service has dropped off. At times some menu items are overcooked or unavailable which may be due to the volume of orders and patrons they serve. I go to Dwight's once a week or at least every 2 weeks. What gets me each time is the long wait to get my food or when I have a taste for a Slab of Ribs and im told I have to wait for an hour or more...No i don't have to wait that long I can leave as I've done many times and thats Not Good for Business.I want to continue patronizing Dwight's Black Owned Business but I've drawn away from Dwight's for those very reasons - waiting!Not Good!
