"Found this Nice little coffee spot just a few steps away from the Airbnb I was staying in. Owned by 2 Friends and Philly natives, they roast their own beans and craft some great coffee. Cappuccino was very good but the roasted drip was even better. A choice of two blends, I chose the revolver blend- smooth cocoa with warm spices. It was a nice way to start the day. Staff is super nice and friendly. Just an overall great neighborhood spot!"
"What a fantastic coffee experience! Phoenix, our barista, explained the in house roasted coffee to us and whipped up an amazing, stunning and delicious mocha cardamom latte for my wonderful wife. I, of course, had a pure espresso! We had a friendly conversation and totally enjoyed the atmosphere and pride of this local shop. The mocha cardamom flavoring was subtle and smooth. The light roast espresso was fruity and needed no sweetener and had a delightful finish. We obtained a package of their in house roasted Ethiopian beans to take home. I look forward to grinding and brewing back in Florida!Life is great with an amazing, unique, high quality, local coffee."
"Five stars for the black drip coffee I enjoyed on a sunny Saturday at this beautiful Ultimo location! Steps from Rittenhouse Square, this is an awesome spot to fuel up before your weekend adventure. I took a bar-style spot at the window to journal and enjoy my coffee, which made for amazing people watching and good vibes all around. This is a perfect spot to cozy up and work, read, study, write, or have a chat, but know that it does get fairly busy and finding a spot inside can be cutthroat. Another special shoutout for the pastry case, which had a really nice variety of breads, cookies, and the like. I went with a piece of lemon poppyseed bread and it was very tasty. I can see myself stopping here for cold brew on my way to hang in the park, or treating myself to working in their bright environment. I look forward to grabbing their beans for my coffee maker at home and checking out some more of their locations in the very near future."
"This is close to 30th street station and a great little coffee shop with plenty of options. Although their menu is not huge, they have a lots of waffles, smoothies, and coffee to offer. The waffles are on the smaller size but have great additions to them. The poached eggs on top are perfect. The creama on the avocado waffle was delicious! Most of the fare offer a sweet and savory bite! The staff was nice and were quick in ordering and delivering of food. I loved that real silverware was provided!"

Beautiful aroma wafting throughout this neighborhood can only mean one thing...Rival Bros are at it again. You know this is going to be something special when you can smell this beautiful aroma dancing in the air from a block away. Just let it carry you inside where you will feel a sudden surge of excitement come upon you. You might also have an impatient pulse wondering when is it your turn to order, when is it your turn to indulge into that perfect cup. Those are the questions that will be running through your head , or maybe you are in need of some much needed caffeine? Maybe less caffeine in how you would approach it, if you are that anxious. There are plenty of coffee shops in Philly, but this has to be the most unique one out of the bunch. Don't get me wrong there are some great shops out there also serving up works of art like Rival Bros. The coffee roasting gods have granted us with a gift, so don't question it, or how is it possible that this is that damn good. Accept it ladies and gents, accept this marvelous gift bestowed to us.

This place has become one of my favorite coffee places in the area. I first learned of it by attending their sister store via the TooGoodToGo app.The coffee is quality, it is local, and they offer a variety of quality options with some authentic specials that don't just feel like they are "there" to me. What they do, they do it well. Fair pricing for the quality. For Sunday mornings, they need a minimum of two staff but could probably do with 3. But the space is kind of small for 3. Probably expensive to expand but I feel this business model is likely to grow eventually. This place is "happenin" with a small but nice cozy space. Don't forget that the sign says "Life-Changing" waffles. If you don't order a waffle dish from this location, you're missing out!!7/25/23 update P.S. Where are the Monopoly boards?

I am undoubtedly a coffee junkie and since moving to Philly recently, I've been very excited to try out as many of the coffeehouses here as I can. One of the first I visited, and by far my most regular coffee haunt so far is Black Turtle Coffee at the corner of Chestnut and 21st. Atmosphere 7/10Black Turtle is a smallish coffee shop that can become a little cramped when there are a lot of people inside, though this is not unusual for coffee shops here in the city. I often do work when I go to a coffee shop, and if it weren't for the tables outside, a nice bonus, I wouldn't always find a space to work in. Otherwise, the interior is nicely and contemporarily decorated, and their cool little multi-colored turtle shell logos dot the scene. The Coffee 10/10Black Turtle has a nice menu of delicious hot and iced coffee drinks to choose from, and I especially love their cafe mocha. This is one of the few coffeehouses I've been to here that offers coconut milk as an alternative to other milks, and that is a big bonus for me.Service 10/10Undoubtedly the biggest reason why Black Turtle has become my virtual daily go-to for coffee is its employees. In the many times I've been there, I have yet to not be greeted with friendly smiles and conversation whenever I go in there. As someone brand new to Philadelphia that knows no one, it's become the one place in town where I almost feel as if do. Kudos to Dalton, Elliot, Kenny, Josh, and every other Black Turtle employee for spreading the sunshine! Highly recommended!

All these bad reviews are making me lol. People be getting all worked up and it's so painfully obvious that they've never worked in the service industry. I'm so glad I moved out of Rittenhouse. Anyway, I digress.Came here today for the first time - tomorrow is their 2 year anniversary, which is pretty impressive for opening during a pandemic. While I don't drink coffee, my two friends do and said it was really tasty. I got an iced chai and really liked it. There was a nice spice to it, and it wasn't too sweet unlike 90% of other shops. The shop itself is clean, bright and minimalistic. I'm super into that. I wish they had little tables, but they do have two sides of bar seating with lots wireless charging stations, which is really cool. While they do ask you to keep your time at the seating to 45 min, we def went over that by accident, but no "mean" owner kicked us out. Also they wore masks so +++. A stream of regular customers came and went. I'm going to bring my dad here to try their coffee because he's picky but would probably like it!

Pretty spacious coffee shop attached to an apartment complex. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Good spot to study or read since they have free wifi, but note hours, they close very early. Coffee is good, but not amazing. The small size is 8oz which should be the size of a macchiato or shot of espresso, not the size of a latte. Personally, there are other coffee shops in the area that I like better, but this is not a bad option!

Wow I think this spot may b my fav cafe in philly! Ive literally only been here twice lmao but both times have had nothing short of a perfect experience. First time was at the end of last spring semester i came to try the seasonal espresso lime mojito something specialty drink and the barista warned me that it was controversial so they wld be happy to make me another drink if i didnt like it. Shld have heeded the warning but they came up and asked what i thot and when i told them it wasnt really for me they made me their specialty salted vanilla latte instead (for free!) which to this day is one of the best coffees ive ever had. This review is getting long but i just had to share that story bc that was such a nice thing for someone to do and ill forever remember it. This time my friend and i came to work and we tried their seasonal peppermint mocha and rose cardamom latte which were both amazing. So flavorful without being overbearing at all -- still felt light and delicious with a well roasted bean. Especially the hot rose cardamom was incredible. The ambience of this place, set so well by the decor, the kind people, and the tasteful for-here cups make it such a good place to work if u can snag a seat. Am definitely going to try to frequent this place more in the future

"Getting into Philly at 8:46am via Amtrak, I found myself in desperate need to find a coffee shop with ample seating but not too much noise to take a 9:30am zoom call so that my boss would think I am still in New York ahahahaa.I rushed over to Alchemy, which is a highly rated coffee shop just down the street, but that place felt like a Doctors office and was packed with people jamming away at their laptops with the charger plugged in. Idk, vibes were off in there...some coffee shops just be doing too much these days...I had mentally bookmarked Black Turtle Coffee on the way as a viable second option, so did a quick reverse pivot like a prime Allen Iverson and started walking back that way. Upon entry, I knew this was exactly what I was looking for:Ample seating, music audible but low enough, and a handful of other people in here just posted.I was seated with my laptop open, noise canceling WH-H910N headphones on by 9:20 and CRUSHED that zoom call powered by this Black Turtle Coffee black americano. My one gripe was that $5 seemed a bit expensive for an americano, but I'm used to nyc prices so I didn't even think about that until I started typing this lmao. I just tap my apple pay and let Jesus take the wheel.I sit here, my dear reader, jamming away at my laptop with the charger plugged in just LOCKED in and vibing. Black Turtle Coffee is a fantastic place to come get some work done, write pointless food reviews, or just spend some time with yourself. We don't spend enough time with ourselves these days smh.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__"
"Now I am not a coffee or espresso snob, and I am not even sure if I can rely on my taste buds to have any kind of authority on those things... but I think that Suprema has some quality stuff! It's situated on a convenient corner that I often pass while walking my dogs. I've noticed other dogs pop in with their owners to order, so I decided one day to do the same. I've returned many times at this point and highly recommend any espresso drinks. I've also enjoyed their iced chai latte. The spice is perfection.Another highlight is that they have many dairy alternatives. I'm an oat milk girl and love that it is becoming a more commonplace offering. The pricing is on the more expensive side and the small is... tiny. But I've yet to be disappointed with what I have gotten for what I paid. If you haven't stopped in to give Suprema a chance yet, and you're a coffee person, definitely go for it!"
"This place is a gem! Great coffee and bites. Also a great place to get out of the house and get some work done for remote workers."
"I loved the vibe of Reanimator Coffee. The inside set up feels very welcoming, and I liked that there was ample seating. On the day I went, it was pretty nice outside too, so I enjoyed that there was outdoor seating available as well. I got an Iced Americano, which was pretty standard but good. I like the reusable cups that the drinks came in. My friend got the Blackberry Sage Tonic, which I also thought was really tasty. I would happily come back here!"
