"Not gonna lie. I wasn't born and raised on grits. The closest thing I got to grits was Cream of Wheat for breakfast. Both are considered porridges but CoW is fine and grits are a bit more coarse. All my life I wanted to believe that grits was something special. But grits saturated in sausage lard and little seasoning never quite sat with me...or my stomach. But I consider myself a pretty open- minded and hopeful person...and that one day I'd find a grits worth eating. Today was that day. This smoked Gouda with bacon grits topped off with diced tomatoes and green onions was creamy and full of Southern hospitality. Sure, the cinnamon French toast was great, but the grits that accompanied the Traditional breakfast this morning will definitely make me come back! Our waitress was as hospitable as Southern hospitality comes and the great decor added to a nice experience."
"This is a great spot to go for Vegan/Vegetarian. The food is very good and the staff are friendly. I myself am not vegan or vegetarian but I am completely open to eating it. Food is food :) To the meat eaters out there, go into these places with an open mind, I guarantee you will enjoy it. A good diet consists of "mostly plants" as I heard a doctor say once before. We as Americans eat too much meat I believe. Meat used to be a treat and a special thing. Saying that, yes I am a meat eater, and yes I probably eat too much meat. Now on to the review: I usually opt for their "you pick two" (Not sure if that's what it's called) but I get the soup option and a side. I don't get to eat out as often as I want but each time I have come here, it's always delicious and served with love."

"Holy crap this was the BEST eats I had on my most recent Nashville trip!!They have an insanely large variety of coffee options to start, both normal selection as well as some that you might never see at most coffee shops - turkish coffee made in the old fashioned way, and an insane number of alcoholic coffee options. It took me quite a while to settle on the alcoholic coffee: "Cappucino la scala" - cappuccino italiano with chocolate and almond liquer. It comes with the alcohol on the side because the waitress explained that they are quite proud of their coffee there... and LET ME TELL YOU. My first sip of that cappuccino and I immediately understood what she meant - it was the best coffee I've had in FOREVER. Perfectly balanced and left me wanting for more. The liquer was also quite tasty to sip, but I did add it into my coffee towards the end. 10/10!!For brunch item, I ordered the egg white omelette and swapped the goat cheese for swiss. It was absolutely delicious!!! All the ingredients tasted extra good, I was shocked but definitely think Nashville has an upper hand when it comes to brunch compared to Los Angeles. 9.5/10!For dessert, we ordered the frutti di bosco, 11/10! It was actually the highlight of the meal if you can believe it - a shortbread pastry base filled with Chantilly cream.... Just so light and perfectly tasty without being too sweet. 100% dreamed of having another slice the days after. If you're in Nashville and looking for breakrfast/brunch, look no further. This is absolutely the best in town. PS the service was also so so friendly, I loved the vibes in this restaurant!"
"A favorite cafe of mine. The kitchen outperforms, preparing outstanding flavors with superb presentation.Previously, the location was a sandwich shop and a local meat and 3. Not the location you expect fine dining. It is totally different now. When they first opened everyone was packed in the lobby waiting for a table. No reservations, just a wait list, since then, they take your cell number and you wait in your car/outside until called. Wait time estimates are pretty accurate. Casual seating at tables and booths, you can share appetizers and then enjoy your main course. I like them all. (I miss the caprise salad)Dishes do change seasonally with the growing season but the proteins hold pretty steady.Totally worth it.Navigate the parking lot carefully."
"Quick and tasty stop for coffee and a breakfast sammie on our way to Radnor Lake on a Saturday morning! We managed to snag a parking spot on the street right in front of 8th & Roast, which is always a plus! There was no line when we got there - but you can tell that this is a popular spot on any day of the week. My husband and I sampled a few of their seasonal drinks - the Peppermint Bark latte, and the Pistachio latte. All of their food options sounded good (and smelled good) so we also ordered the "Old Fashioned" biscuit sandwich to-go. The coffee was delicious - I feel like there's a noticeable difference in taste from shops that roast their own beans. We also really liked the breakfast sandwich! The biscuit was thick and flaky, and the sausage, egg and cheese was warm and savory. We didn't stay indoors long - but this is absolutely the kind of coffee shop that I could see myself working remotely at for a few hours. This was a great start to the long weekend - we'll absolutely be back!"
"Cute coffee shop and nice staff, everything on the menu seems to be very modern like the avocado toast and the corn quinoa salad.I had the breakfast poutine and a honey oat latte, I really did like the latte, but the breakfast poutine was too filling I couldn't finish it, it was full of cheese and potato.I also tried one of the powdered sugar beignet that my friend ordered, and it tasted just like a beer as if it was a pastry. Very interesting since I have never had beignet before."
"I moved here three weeks ago and really nervous about checking out my new surroundings alone. This place makes me feel very comfortable and welcoming. They provided a prompt friendly service, clean, and great warm lighting that's easy for my eyes. I ordered a hot classic caffe latte and a breakfast burrito, both were perfect for after the gym visit. Love their menu selections and outdoor patio to enjoy music row area. I will definitely come back."
"Step into a French Country escape without leaving the city at this beautifully decorated restaurant. The modern yet stylish ambiance is complemented by a spacious interior that can accommodate a good number of guests. Conveniently located on a corner lot, it's easy to find and access. I ordered the delicious grilled shrimp served with a bed of rice, pita and taziki. Extremely well seasoned, really loved this dish. Pineapple Express mock tail, was sweet and tangy. I will definitely be ordering these items again. Serviced by a polite and patient waitress. She's was very attentive."
"If you're ever in East Nashville, make it a point to stop by for these incredible donuts--they're totally worth it! I was in the area and couldn't resist popping in, and I'm so glad I did. These donuts are on another level! Most are priced around $4.75, which might seem steep, but trust me, the quality more than makes up for it. Whether you're into the cakey or the fluffy varieties, they've got you covered. We picked up the s'mores, banana puddin', Boston cream, and the cinnamon roll, and every single one was a flavor explosion. They also offer coffee and savory treats, which I can't wait to try on my next visit.Plus, there are a few parking spaces right in front, and the staff couldn't have been more enthusiastic and helpful. If you're nearby, don't miss out!"

After church on Sunday, my friends and I have this place a try! I recommend putting your name on the waitlist ahead of time online to save you from having to wait for a long time. We were under a 10 minute drive away so it definitely helped us to have our name on the list prior. Pretty busy on a Sunday which is typical, nothing crazy! Staff was kind and provided great recommendations! I ordered the City Grits and Blackstone Egg Benedict. I ate every last bit! Clean plate club! Not overly priced for being in Downtown/close to Broadway which I loved! I'd definitely come again to try out the menu!

Such a nice treat!!! This place was so great and honestly surprised me. The food was so good. I had the diner burger and loved it. The apple pie cupcake was such a surprising and nice treat. But the kombucha???? Now that blew me away. I've been drinking different kinds of kombucha for years and this one has to be my favorite by far. I mixed the raspberry and peach and loved it so much I ordered it twice. I liked everything I tried from here. The service is great. Our cashier was so patient with us. And answered all of our questions. While my friend loved the overall look and feel of the place. Definitely want to stop by here again before I leave. This place was such a delight.

We stopped by here on a weekend before a show at the Amphitheater & it turned out to be a great choice! Inside is a super cute cafe; they have a bar area and a to go counter and pastry/cake display. We opted to dine in and were seated right away.I got the Bruschetta ($9) to start. It was really good! Lots of great flavors and plenty of bread. And, although it's summer, I was soooo happy they still had a soup of the day & got the Red Pepper Gouda ($10) for my main. Loved this, too! The food came out pretty fast, as well, so I'm happy we ended up here before our show. Next time I'll have to try one of their old school cocktails!

To avoid the rush, it's best to arrive early at Lyncoya Cafe. It's a fantastic spot to enjoy some scrumptious homemade meals. The aroma of the Poutine was irresistible, with its delectable fries drenched in rib gravy, accompanied by meaty bits and melted cheese curds, all crowned with crispy fried onion strings. Even though I'm a vegan, it still made my mouth water. Eden, our server, did a great job assisting me in choosing a vegan and allergy-friendly option from the menu. I ended up ordering the western wrap with some modifications. The rest of my group also enjoyed their meals, satisfying even my picky in-laws who left full and happy they had leftovers for later. The place is adorned with a Nashville flair, giving it a unique touch. There is ample parking available. But remember to secure a spot amidst the bustling crowd, it's best to arrive early. They come for the delectable meals that never fail to satisfy everyone's taste buds.

I've come to increasingly love and appreciate 8th and Roast after visiting more often at the Nashville airport and more recently their 8th Ave cafe. The interior is big and open with a good amount of community and bar seating at the window. They are fast, efficient, and serve one of my favorite lattes in the city. They also offer bakery items, some breakfast, and seasonal offerings. I highly recommend 8th and Roast for your morning needs!

Nice quiet place for morning coffee in the middle of music row (only place open at 8am on Sunday...it's quiet here!!). Super friendly service with a big smile and a real coffee cup not paper (that counts in my book...sit and enjoy your coffee!).

I was in the Edgehill area and came about this place and had to try it for lunch. I had seen it on yelp before and it looked really good. To my delight, it was Very Good. I love mediterranean food and this place did not disappoint. We were promptly greeted and given a table. They do also have a fairly large covered patio area. Our server was Very nice and attentive. There is street parking but you have to get lucky to get a spot. There is a pay parking lot across the street that I found and it was $6.00 an hour ( it may be more on the nights & weekends ) They have plenty of different types of alcoholic beverages and have a good selection of menu items. It is moderately priced. The Kabobs are mid $20.00 dishes. The tzatziki is some of the best I've had. The whipped feta appetizer was one of the best I've had and it's enough for 3 people to share. Everything we had was cooked properly and very flavorful. I will definitely go back as there were other dishes I really want to try.

"Hidden Gem...is the absolute perfect descriptor for SideKicks Cafe! Located just a block off of busy Due West, hidden in plain sight, sits SideKicks Cafe on Graycroft Avenue. It is the type of place that is uniquely local and that seems like it has been around for years, even generations...however they only opened in 2016, but in these 7 years they have made a name for themselves in the Madison community and have built a solid following of loyal patrons! I have only been on this end of town for about 4 months and thanks to Yelp, I ended up here one Saturday morning and immediately knew I had found my spot for all things breakfast, coffee and pastry! The set up of SideKicks is you walk in where you can scope the printed menu and the wall menu, and peep the goods in the case, and once you have landed on something you order and then seat yourself. They give you a buzzer and in just a few moments you will go from hungry to happy. My first visit in I decided to have the Biscuits and Gravy with a side of Hashbrown Casserole and a sweet tea. I consider myself a biscuit and gravy connoisseur, especially being from GA where I practically had them every morning. With that being said, SideKicks does not play when it comes to this dish! This was easily the largest plate of BG I have ever been served and it was topped with massive chunks of sausage and heaps of white pepper gravy. To break that down a little further it was comprised of two full fluffy biscuits split open, easily 2 cups of gravy and at least 4 broken up sausage patties. It was massive in appearance and in taste...they had me hooked from first bite! The hash browns were delightful and apparently award winning, which makes total sense. Once I wrapped my meal, I was tasked with bringing the partner something home so I ordered another round of hashbrown casserole and the Pine-Gouda Ham Biscuit, which is a ham and Gouda biscuit with a nice pineapple jam. While pineapple jam isn't my thing, my partner absolutely loved it and has told everyone who will listen about it since that morning! And lastly, for my ride home I ended up getting an Iced Mocha Shake-Up...and as you would expect, delicious! Overall, absolutely love SideKicks Cafe! The staff were beyond nice, welcoming and friendly. Combine this with the delicious food and the covered patio, and you got a winning spot!"
"Another awesome Indian spot in the Nashville area. Tasty tucked away spot with a unique feel. Nice large variety of items without being overwhelming. The dessert case is also very bright and tempting haha. The sambusas were excellent as was the goat vindaloo. The naan was extremely soft and flaky, a wonderful companion to the saucy entree."
"Quick, cheap, and good breakfast place. I was in and out within an hour. The french toast was my favorite thing ordered. The server was nice and attentive, the place was cute inside and I liked how each section of the wall had a different little "theme"."
"Great local spot that also has a drive up window. I decided to try the cinnamon latte and it was delicious along with a veggie soufflé. Much better than any chain hands down. Would definitely stop if in the area."
"This is a cute little shop with a menu featuring American and Hispanic breakfast and lunch food. It was pretty busy when we went in but our server was kind and attentive. The food came out a bit intermittently, but it was fun for the kids."
"We loved this cute place! It has a coffee house vibe with tables, but also has couches and comfy chairs for relaxing. We placed our order and the lattes came right out! They were just the right temperature with just the right foam! And smooth as silk....yummy! We shared a huge freshly baked cinnamon roll....delicious! I had a piece of bacon quiche - the crust was made with hash browns! It was so good! We would be glad to stop here again!"
"Amazing country cookin!!! Jalapeño cornbread is the bomb! Friendly staff. Simple. Fair prices."
"5 stars for service! Chelsea was very pleasant and brought coffee refills often. Mr. T came by a few times as well, making us feel like he was a family friend, just making sure we were comfortable. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was perfectly?waffled? And the chicken was tender and crispy. Highly recommend when in Hendersonville."
"What a lovely place for breakfast or brunch! We were warmly welcomed and they seemed super excited that it was our first time there. Our waitstaff, Jessica was cheerful and attentive. The menu has plenty to choose from. My husband ordered the Supreme omelette and said it was delicious. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, which were perfectly cooked, accompanied by crisp bacon and City Grits as my side. The grits were the fluffiest I've ever eaten and the combination of grits, smoked Gouda, bacon, tomato and scallions was absolutely delicious. Coffee was piping hot and delicious. Only downsides were the eggs still had the cooking oil on them, which tasted a lot like the butter put on popcorn in movie theaters. I'd either change to real butter, or blot the eggs before bringing them out. I also asked for crispy bacon - which it was - but it was not very hot. Loved the biscuit beignets we received because it was our first time. We'll definitely be back. PS - If you're bringing an infant or toddler, there are changing tables in the restroom"
"This place is a great place to go for food. Keep in mind the menu and recipes from this place to taste identical to Cilantro in Five Points so expect some relationship there. In comparison to Cilantro (main frame of reference) the bar doesn't have as many options, and the decor is more dated, which is fine. Las FIestas takes a proven menu and caters to a different audience, and it excels there."
"I stopped by Panini Bread Cafe for a sandwich today since I hadn't packed a lunch for work. Their menu is simple - mostly, you guessed it, panini. I got the tuna melt and a side pasta salad from the fridge. The tuna melt was average - not the worst I've ever had but certainly on the drier side and not very memorable. The pasta salad was okay - not super fresh, because some of the rotini pasta had dried out at the ends. The service was fine; I wouldn't say anyone was particularly friendly, but they were fast! This wasn't a meal I'm craving to repeat anytime soon, but I work very close to the cafe, so I'm sure I'll be back sometime soon when I forget to bring a lunch to work!"
"The epitome of a great unassuming coffee bar. This spot is located in the lobby of the Marriott in Germantown, but it's completely closed off so you're bothered with hustle and bustle of bushy hotel lobby. Moonshot Coffee Bar offers all of the classic coffee drinks, both hot an cold and a array of breakfast foods. Like croissants, muffins, and breakfast sandwiches. If you're looking for a place to get some work done, there's plenty of tables and open bar space here for those pesky laptop sessions."
"The location is very convenient to Melrose, Belmont, 12 south, Berry Hill areas. They open at 0630 which is nice and early. The waffle options are great and the staff are friendly. The only complaint I have is the parking lot is very odd, you walk around to the front but the parking is on either side. I guess it's just how the building was designed. The restrooms are always clean and functional. I feel old fashioned because I am always griping about the cost of everything but it is not the fault of the restaurant but inflation."
"Came into Gyro Cafe of Smyrna and ordered a mixed grill over salad. The service was great and the food even better. The lamb and beef was superb. And the cucumber dressing was very yummy. Wish I had another one right now...lol"
"Daily Grind is a small local coffee shop that sits in a shared space/building on Dickerson Pike just about a half a mile from the Old Hickory intersection. The shared space consists of Daily Grind, a financial company and a bail bondsman. While that sounds like an odd combination, which it is, they make it work. Upon entry, Daily Grind is set up to the left and features all the classics you would expect along with limited pastries and snacks. There are a few seats near the counter and also a large community table on the other side of the space, which is free use for those seeking coffee or financial services...or both. We had driven by this spot countless times and decided to pop in one Saturday morning. My pal got a standard iced latte and I opted for one of the spring specials, Brown Sugar Iced Latte. They did offer your milk alternatives and a few other options if you wanted to change things up. Both drinks were solid, not great, but good and fairly priced. Our visit was around 11:00 AM and sadly they had already ran out of all muffins, leaving their case filled with donuts and a kolache. We opted out of a snack and just took our drinks for the road. Service was solid. The gentleman was friendly, not very engaging, but he connected with us enough to know what we wanted and to make it happen. Overall, decent little local coffee shop that I would have no issues swinging back through!"
"Five stars because it's what you expect and want in a small town cafe. Great menu selection. Service is fast. They can have your call-in orders ready to pick up in minutes. Their breakfast is the best in town, in my opinion. I really love their Texas style breakfast burrito. My kids love their biscuits. The wraps for lunch are good and so is the pasta. They have lunch specials (meat and 3 and homemade dessert) every weekday. I've never ordered anything here that wasn't good."
