The Lobster Shack

Taking a visit to Miami South Beach, please skip over all the hound restaurants on the strip of ocean drive and walk yourself down the strip to this small hole in the wall Lobster Shack. It's past 1st street. So it's about a 15 minute walk from the Versace Mansion (or so) . It's table seating inside and out and is perfect for groups no more than about 8. This way you don't have to pull tables together. I was greeted by the bartender as well as the server who was taking care of a table when I walked in, however she still made it her business to say "hello". You can walk in and grab a menu from bar entrance (counter) and sit anywhere inside or out. The team is a friendly bunch that pairs well together. I Almost would walk away saying everything was well priced, however my only draw back were the oysters. They were 20.00, and tiny for a half dozen. Other then this the food taste amazing. EVERYTHING was fresh, even the over priced tiny oysters . The Bread was delightful on both the crab dip (which seemed to be a sour dough slice). The bread on the rolls melted in your mouth so buttery and grilled to perfection. I was sad when the last bite came about. To be truthful I would order one to eat and one for the road.... No diet day here and you won't regret it!The Cajun shrimp roll was a burst of flavor. Perfect amount of seasoning on a buttery roll with a Cajun aioli that was splendid on my palate. The pickle on the side is a perfect pairing. You can also select chips, soup or coleslaw for an up charge to the roll. The crab dip was loaded with grab in every bite, perfect amount of spinach and cheese , well worth the price and enough to spread a large amount on all the bread given. Crab bisque was nice and creamy with a buttery flavor. Hit it with the crushed salt, a dash of hot sauce and let's not forget the oyster crackers. Placing you for dance party of flavor in your mouth. The fresh seafood platter was well worth the price. Not over cooked or chewy and super fresh. Good assortment. The shrimp in the garlic butter was a pleasant Burst of flavor in which I poured over everything. To wash that all down I ordered the Guava Jalapeño margarita. Which comes with infused jalapeño tequila. I could sit here, eat a roll of your choosing as you can't go wrong, and have about four of these to stumble out to the beach and layout happy. Your taste buds will thank you!Be sure to check them out...P.S - bathrooms well clean (toilet paper dispenser was broken so it was placed just in the bathroom. Good and Service was great at this restaurant. My family and I had enjoy our meals especially the lobster roll and the key lime pie was amazing.

Great lobster roll. Decent portion size. Really good crab and artichoke dip! Above average. Seafood bar vibe right next to the beach. With Haagendaz a couple doors down you got yourself a nice little date night situation here.

Love the divey vibes here. Perfect spot to grab a lobster roll and some oysters after a toasty couple hours on the beach. I usually get the Naked roll and it's absolutely perfect on the buttery roll. The staff is always super friendly/fast and it's an overall nice experience.

This spot was right around the corner from our hotel when we stayed in Miami south beach. We went around 930 PM and sat outside. Service was fast and friendly. The oysters, lobster rolls and strawberry daiquiri were delicious. Reasonably priced as well for what we were expecting to spend in Miami. They did not skimp on the lobster meat. I got a classic lobster roll and my boyfriend got one with bacon and avocado on it. There were so many options! Glad we stopped by this place. Low key, casual vibes, but a really nice and delicious meal.

Was in town visiting family, exploring the beach, and we decided to hop in for a quick bite of lunch.Nice location, and should you choose to eat outside, shaded in the afternoon. You order at the counter inside, and they bring your food to your table. I decided to go for the 2.5 lb cooked lobster, and I opted for the "lazy" lobster (they crack it open for you, for a small fee). This came with a side of jalapeño Cole slaw. The slaw was good, but not great, although I did enjoy the heat from the jalapeños in it. The lobster was cooked well, and was delicious. Plenty of butter and lemon for dipping. My nephew tried their surf and turf burger, and said it was very good, although he wasn't a fan of the pickle-flavored potato chips they gave him.This is at the beach, so it's a little pricey in my opinion. But the serving sizes were good, and the food was good. I say the splurge was worth it! If I'm back down, will definitely try their lobster roll.

I'm a lobster roll fanatic & my favorite lobster roll restaurant in Miami closed on me. My boyfriend been holding out on this restaurant, and we finally were driving through South Beach. Going shopping one day and decided to grab some lunch and boy do I wish I grabbed another roll to go for dinner!! Everything tasted so fresh the bread, the lobster and the sauce even was light yet perfect. I'm not exaggerating, out of everything to eat on South Beach this is it! It's at the end of the strip with parking directly in front of it if your lucky. Jussssst take it to go, as it's a little boring inside and the service was dry. Inside isn't bad, the rural look is cool. & I wish they had Fries .

The lobster shack was a fun experience. The food was good and the service was fast. They have both indoor and outdoor seating preferences depending on what you are looking for. My husband and I ordered the Lobstah rolls with a side of fries. They were both delicious. Will be returning, especially when we are in a time crunch.

Lobster shack is situated in a perfect spot next to Miami Beach not too far from South Pointe Pier. After a long walk, bike ride, or beach day this is a perfect little spot to enjoy a lobster roll! Being from Maine originally I can smell, spot, and know the taste of a good lobster roll. The lobster rolls were filled with delicious succulent lobster meat on top of golden rolls. Great service and a wonderful way to fill your belly while washing it down with good drinks.

Good food, over hyped. got the lobster roll and lobster mac and cheese. fast service. the food is good but i've had better lobster rolls from fort lauderdale.
