We really enjoyed the food here. Excellent service and great breakfast. We mainly came for the hash browns and they did not disappoint. This place was packed solid and I can see why. If you want that old diner feel with yummy food, try this joint.

I hesitated to update this review. But, I'm brutally honest and it needs to be done. I really cannot recommend this historic diner any longer.I have been a patron for decades. Literally. Since the 1980's. Up until the pandemic lockdown, it was a favorite breakfast or lunchtime spot. I was not alone. Early weekend mornings there would rarely be parking and often required waiting for a table. New owners bought Jimmy's in 2022. Today was my hopeful return. I was disappointed from the moment I arrived. At 10 am Today, (Sunday), my first return in 2 years, there was numerous parking spaces, empty tables, and no one at the bar. Bad sign.New ownership has done nothing to update the extremely aged interior. My seat bench was uncomfortable because of the distressed condition of the vinyl. Old and dilapidated decor is not nostalgic, it's stale. Same menu. But not really. Ordering a cheese omelette, I asked for Swiss. Apparently, Swiss cheese is no longer a menu option; only American or Feta. I was told the new owners cut back on the menu to save the money they are not putting into the diner. My omelette was dry and unseasoned. Not enjoyable. My dining companion ordered sunny side up eggs. They came out with completely uncooked whites swimming grotesquely in some kind of cooking oil or margarine. The second try was not better. Notably, the table next to ours also sent their eggs back to the kitchen. Additionally, a $7.00 upcharge for hash browns that were also lacking any finesse or seasoning. Sadly, food was inedible and uninspired. Ho hum, yuck. Servers are mostly the same, but historic smiles and fast feet are noticeably absent. The sense of purpose is observably missing. It appears they do not enjoy working for the new owners. And, service seemed disorganized. We seated ourselves. 5 minutes passed before place settings. No one took drink orders until the cashier came over 10 minutes after sitting. Water arrived 5 minutes later. Our Order was not taken until another 5 minutes dragged by. No urgency. No one waiting for the booth.Disheartening. Not recommended.Summary: Absent ambiance. Lackluster service. Barely adequate food. No price bargain. Unless the owners renovate the diner interior, improve food quality, and restore passion to its service, I'll never return. Talking to other locals, none were surprised, they had the same recent experience.End of an era. Knowing Miami, I won't be surprised when I see a high rise condo go up on the property next year. Tragic.

The price you pay does not match the quality of the food that you're getting. I mean, a simple breakfast platter with a cup of coffee is gonna cost you like $25+ dollars. The food is nothing special. The seats are absolutely falling apart. For a place that advertises itself as a neighborhood/family diner, the prices are like going to some Miami brunch spot with a live DJ downtown. I mean, look at the menu. A grilled cheese sandwich costs $14.95, not including taxes and fees and tip. Lol. A GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH. FIFTEEN DOLLARS.Eggs, bacon, and 2 pancakes...fifteen dollars. Doesn't even come with hash browns and toast.Maybe I'm just being John Travolta from that scene in Pulp Fiction with the milkshake, but at least he got a good milkshake out of it.

I didn't know such cute old diner was near my house so it was a great surprise. It's not like those fancy instagramy brunch places popping up all over Miami, which was the reason I liked it more. The food was matching the value and the service was AMAZING. Everyone felt like family.

Down home diner. No frills and thrills. Booth bench could definitely stand to be re-done instead of using tape. Nice size pancakes. Nothing fancy, but food was correct and arrived quickly.

While the girls left the house early this morning to dress up and put on some makeup, Pops and I decided to grab breakfast at Jimmy's Eastside Diner! Going in, the restaurant was jumping, but there was still a good amount of seating. For breakfast, we ordered 1 set of scrambled eggs with country smoked sausage, home fries, and rye toast & 1 plate of over easy eggs, bacon, home fries, and white toast! Going into my review, no complaints here, everything was perfect! The scrambled eggs were very custardy, sausage had a nice sear, potatoes were well seasoned & crispy. The bacon was not too crispy nor chewy! Toast was toasted and nicely spread in n butter. Moreover, the service this morning was friendly and attentive. Overall, if you're looking for a solid breakfast spot with a good variety of menu options, Jimmy's Eastside Diner gotcha covered. Final verdict 5/5 - nice job!

This place is always a good spot for lunch and dinner. Plenty of seating. Plenty of parking. And the food is diner quality. This place is the definition of a neighborhood diner. The atmosphere is eclectic, the service is responsive and the food is good with plenty of menu options and daily specials.

We haven't been here since before Covid. It was good to be back. The same staff were there, and they were as attentive as always. The owners are always friendly and welcoming. We were there today for a late breakfast/ lunch. Being a Tuesday , it was on the slow side, and not many people were there. It was also an hour before they closed at 3:00 pm. I ordered my fave, eggs with Miami ham steak, and my daughter had the tuna melt with fries. My hashbrowns were overcooked and kind of dried out, but the ham steak and eggs were good! The Tuna Melt wasn't that good per my daughter. It could've been an off day for them It happens. Service was quick and attentive. Parking was available right in front of the restaurant. They have a big lot for parking, including wheelchair accessibility.
