This is my go-to comfort Pho place. I have been here at least 6 times in the last few months, and the consistency, quantity, and value for your money have yet to be topped by anywhere else in Houston. If you like leaner beef, try the Pho Tai. The pho dac biet is plentiful with the noodles and the meats. The broth is more flavorful that other places. Pho Saigon is casual and has plenty of available seating even when busy. Usually only wait 5-10 minutes from sitting down to eating good pho, so a wonderful place to stop for a quick meal.Make sure if you can't eat cilantro that you ask for the pho without it!

This has been my go to pho spot for over a decade plus. I appreciate the consistency and the broth is just very comforting and nostalgic for me. The service is fairly quick for pho to come out. The egg rolls may take a bit longer depending on how busy they are but not bad. Although this last trip they completely forgot our egg roll order sadly but life goes on. I've ordered here through door dash when desperate and can't get out the house but it doesn't taste the same as dining in. The ambiance is cozy and reminiscent of late 90s for me. I don't think much has changed and it's what I appreciate. It looks like they have new menus now and not the flip spiral booklet so that's exciting to not have to flip through. The parking in the plaza can get a bit busy but there is an upstairs you can park in as well.

Solid Pho spot! Was visiting Houston for the weekend and we were craving some soup on a cold day. Service was great and food came out very quick. #1. Cha Gio- Vietnamese eggs rolls were good. I liked that they had shrimp and pork inside. Nicely fried and crispy, good starter.#11. Pho Tai- broth was very flavorful and eye round steak was great. Ordered the large bowl and it was very filling. Plenty of bean sprouts, Thai basil and jalapeños to add. YUM

With the weather approaching freezing temps this week, you bet I'm going to seek out one of my fave cold weather foods! Despite the place being busier than usual, we got seated pretty quickly. They have a fairly extensive menu with plenty of chicken, beef, and vegetable based pho broths so very inclusive. We got two different types of beef-based pho, shrimp spring rolls, salted lemon drink, and green tea. The pho came out within a reasonable time along with the drinks. The pho was exactly what we needed to stay warm and prepare for the incoming freeze! We got a generous portion of rich, deep flavorful pho. It was so delicious!! The salted lemon drink was new for me and was initially a nice contrast to the pho but, personally, got to be a bit too much for me. Only complaint was that our spring rolls were completely forgotten until after we finished our pho and we had to remind the staff who luckily brought it out before we left. Likely all due to how busy the place was.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since my last review here! Returned here to meet up an old friend in the area while we were craving something a little fresher and lighter than the TexMex food we've been eating. I was excited to come back since my first and last review made this place sound so good (I admit I totally forgot about this place since then haha).Sadly, the place is not what my last review led me to believe. Husband got the pho and it was just fine. He noted the bowl was kind of small. I got the bun bo xa gia cho (lemongrass beef noodle salad with fried eggroll) but the beef tasted old and had no lemongrass flavor. The two eggrolls were thin, and the nuoc cham was not flavorful. I didn't want to, but was so put off by the beef that I asked to replace it with some other meat. They hesitantly obliged, and gave me a side of shrimp, which was better, but they were a tad small.Service was whatever. Place was clean and spacious though. Played some good Vietnamese music.Too bad the experience and flavor isn't what it used to be.

Has been super cold recently and was craving something warm, so pho came to mind! The restaurant itself has pretty limited parking, but got lucky this time finding one in the front. Service is always good here, they get your food and drink, refills and help you with anything you need.I always go for the Pho Tai Bo Vien and it did not disappoint! The pho is always consistently good here and cheaper compared places near here. This is definitely a good choice if you're in the area and craving pho!

The broth was tasty and not too salty!!! That's a huge win for me. The portions are a bit smaller. In Toronto, we have a large Vietnamese community and you can order pho in S M L and XL! The large at Pho Saigon resembles a medium in Toronto! This is definitely quality over quantity! Service was efficient and on par. The location was surprisingly big on the inside as it didn't look like it would be on the outside!

I live within walking distance of this place and I'm always up for a new pho spot, so I decided to stop by recently. So glad I did. Their pho is pretty solid, I can't lie. Although the broth is full of flavor, it's a little on the dark side, which makes me think they didn't spend too much time clarifying and purifying the broth before serving it. But that's okay. Flavor was great, service was fast, portions sizes were good, and cost was acceptable. Would definitely try again.

Pho is always the solution after a long night of drinking. Pho Saigon is one of our go-to places because of its delicious broth and reasonable pricing. First off, they have multiple combinations so you can pick and choose the cuts of meat you want. I ordered the #18 that had eye-round steak, well-done flank, fatty brisket, and soft tendon. You can also choose the size of your bowl. The large bowl is more cost efficient because it's only an extra $1 but I get full off broth quickly and opted for the small bowl which still left me full at the end. I also ordered the ca phe sua da and it brought me back to life. They actually serve it to you with the coffee filter so you can make it as concentrated or as dilute as you like. If you live around the Midtown area, I'd recommend coming here for a solid bowl of pho noodles.

A couple of decades ago, Midtown was one of the few neighborhoods in Houston that was a legit Asian ethnic enclave. Fast forward to the present, there are only a few Vietnamese businesses left, which includes Pho Saigon. After opening its doors just over 25 years ago, they've been a steady destination for pho ever since and one of the more iconic businesses in the area. While it might not look like much from the outside, the interior is surprisingly super spacious with a sea of chairs and tables in every direction. The lunch time crowd is usually a bit more intense on good weather days, but far more drab during their dinner service and weekend hours. The food is probably around 3.5 for me overall. The more unmemorable items include their limp goi cuon, somewhat lackluster bun thit nuuong and a very uneventful banh mi, but the pho dac biet was surprisingly hearty with an abundance of meats and a clear but fragrant broth. I also strangely appreciated the extra long cha gio (#1) and felt their caphe sua da had just the right amount of sweetness and caffeine. The service works fast and they're good about accommodating all party sizes. Parking in the dedicated lot is tough on regular days, so street parking might be necessary. Prices are solid for the area and the takeout / delivery is impressive. I do hope they'll continue to thrive and represent on this side of town for the foreseeable future.__________(#1) In the words of Patrick Bateman: "Don't just stare at it, eat it."
