Maine-ly Sandwiches

We got two warm lobster regular sandwich. Wait time was about 15 minutes. The bread was warm but the lobster was disgusting. It was not topped with butter. It was just topped with black pepper, this was mot properly seasoned. Not even half way through, it was inedible the sandwich was soggy.

This restaurant is new to this area, and I find them to be a great up and coming Resturant. Houston doesn't have many restaurants known for lobster rolls. So I stopped in for lunch. Enjoyed my food. I actually had the warm lobster rolls sandwich very tasteful, very good. I think I would have expected a little more meat to the sandwich. There are many items on the menu that I plan to go back and try, so I can't wait to try the clam chowder soup on a cool chilled day. I got the vibes of being back in Boston.

I recently realized that Maine-ly Sandwiches is the only restaurant in Houston offering true fried clam bellies. So they were due for a recent order from me, along with their signature lobster roll!Unfortunately, what showed up at my door had some issues, and I don't know if they fall with the restaurant or DoorDash. It absolutely left me curious enough to go back and try things out in person.The lobster roll was really good for the price ($16.50 at the restaurant, $18 through DoorDash). For comparison, the northeast's Luke's Lobster is in the $25+ range. The roll featured no celery garbage and was loaded nicely with the good stuff, and was seasoned nicely. My issue was that the bun was pretty cold and didn't taste toasted by the time it made its way to my door. I also notice that you get a melted butter container in-store, but this did not come with my order. Maybe the assumption is I could have melted my own butter.Across the table, the clam bellies were promising. From the taste, it was immediately clear these were the real thing. Unfortunately, the 10 min. car ride seemed to do a number on the breading. It seemed like the clams had just come out of the fryer, so the paper bag oozed with grease. The breading itself did not cling to many of the clams, so I was left with a number of bare clams with chunks of breading at the bottom of the cup. I'm so glad someone is serving these! But at the price point ($18 through DoorDash), the price was high for a small number of clams in rough shape.As someone with family roots in Maine, there's a lot of positives with Maine-ly's approach, but the delivery process could use some work. Look forward to updating this review in the future with an in-person visit.

We've been long time fans of Maine-ly over the years and I was eager to try the new location. Food hits the same, but you can tell they are in need of employees to up their service game.

You must try the lobster roll! Traditional or warm. The Mac and cheese is awesome. Order some bisque or chowder and go for bread ball option. The staff is great and they know the menu well. I am looking forward to trying more of the enticing menu items. FYI they don't sell booze

The service was amazing! And my first lobster roll was fantastic! I will definitely return. This restaurant was clean abs quiet.

Everything was wonderful! The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly! My husband loved his lobster roll so much he ordered a second roll to-go. We will definitely be back!

I ordered the large Texas Heat and the lobster bisque soup. We were IMPRESSED with the full sandwich filled with lobster and the quality of the roll. Usually places skimp on the lobster but we did not feel that was the case here AT ALL! It's not cheap but the quality and the quantity was totally worth the price. Service was slow but the food made up for the wait. Definitely will go back!

I've tried this restaurant years ago when they had a location near Trader Joe's but I couldn't remember if I liked it or not. This newer location is across from my hair salon so I thought, "why don't I drop my silky self in for a lobster roll."There were only two people that I could see, 1 manager or customer who was on her laptop, and one person working behind the counter. I stood around for a while before anyone acknowledged me, and I almost left.The prices are a bit steep, and customer service could've been better but I ended up ordering a mainiac lobster roll, a mixture of original (cold mayo) and warm butter and pepper lobster.... Like I said, Customer service wasn't that great... but dammit the lobster roll was good. It was $36 for one sandwich but they did not skimp on the lobster and the bread was so soft and perfect. Very rich and delicious so I was full off a couple of bites.I wish they offered a more affordable and smaller portion (like a slider of sorts) because I would've liked to try their scallop basket and some other smaller portions of things that I saw on the menu. A girl like me loves a variety of tapas. I also ordered a moxie soda (simply because I've never tried it before) but I couldn't get the top off (*Arthur fist*) so I'll have to wait till I get home to let y'all know how that was.Convenient location so I may be back.

We had the lobster roll and tuna salad sandwich with coleslaw. Everything was excellent as well as the service. It was after the lunch crowd so it was very pleasant. Also enjoyed the music that they had playing! We will be back and will be bring friends! Highly recommend.
