Donut Palace

It's your average run if the mill Texas donut shop. Sparse decoration and your standard middle of the road donuts.They shine with kolaches. There take the phrase " everything is bigger in Texas" to heart when it comes to kolaches. The boudin stuffed kolaches appear to bring the people in. Service is transactional but friendly, don't expect much banter from the folks behind the counter.

I wasn't very impressed with this place. I looked on Yelp to find another donut place in the Kingwood area to try that was close to the house. I normally go to Pats but was looking to venture out. This place had a lot of 5 star reviews and most everything seemed really positive.The location is in a good spot and very easy to find. There aren't a lot of other businesses in the strip center and they had more than enough parking. The shop isn't very large and appeared to be pretty clean. They had three different cold fridges for drinks but I wasn't very impressed with what they carried. I am just used to more of a selection from other places. There is a pretty small case for the donuts with shelving directly behind it. The lady working the register was very nice and did greet me upon entering the place. While the cases and shelves looked pretty full I realized that it was just because they are so much smaller. Essentially there really wasn't a good variety of different donuts and kolaches - it just looked like a lot since there isn't much space. I ordered a couple sausage and cheese kolaches, they do carry large and small sizes. I also ordered a sausage and cheese taco. I don't know if they have a bacon taco and were just sold out or if they don't carry it at all, but that is what I was really wanting. She did heat up the kolaches for me.When I got home and tried the food I wasn't that impressed. They were all still warm but I wasn't a fan of the sausage combo that they use for the kolaches. It tasted really bland and not very good in my opinion. There did seem to be enough cheese but I also didn't care for the breading they used either. The overall taste was just meh. The taco was rolled different and was more of a square shape. I took one bite and decided that I wasn't going to eat it. The whole thing tasted off and not good at all. The meat was dry and very bland. There wasn't much cheese to help with the taste. The tortilla was hard in some places so I don't know if it was overcooked or just old. This I would definitely not order again. They did carry other kinds with potato, etc. But I still wouldn't go for it. I didn't try any of the donuts so I can't speak to the taste of those but I won't be going back. I will try and find another place or stick to Pats. There just wasn't a reason for me to give this place a second chance.

For those of us who love donuts... You've gotta try Donut Palace!!! Light and airy I believe they are close to Krispy Kreme in their consistency! The women who is always there, is awesome and SO polite and sweet!! They have kolaches which I haven't had... But their croissants are outstanding!! Flakey and buttery... Add to that egg,cheese, bacon or sausage... Or both...perfect for breakfast or anytime!!! Try Donut Palace you won't be disappointed!!! Only thing missing is...drive thru

Very poor customer service. The old lady got my order wrong and lied to my face despite me having a witness as to what I ordered. The sad part is that initially I tipped her for the overpriced food. Do not bother coming here!

We have business nearby. We do not live near donut palace. It's great. Different selection than other donut shops. So I very much like that. Food is delicious. Customer service excellent. Highly recommend. Our favorite is ham and cheese croissant.

When we arrived in Texas on vacation I noticed there were 4 (yes, four) donut shops within 1 mile of each other. Infact, 2 of them are next door to each other. So, out of curiosity I decided to check out each one by getting 1 yeast (or as they are called here, 1 glazed donut). After comparing all 4 places this is what I came up with.................Out of the 4 places I ranked this glaze donut 4th. It was pretty good but someone has to come in 4th. (Ironically my son liked this glazed donut place the best) so if this was his experiment he would have them 1st. So it's good, just not my favorite. The store is clean and the lady behind the counter was very nice.

We have a long history here. unfortunately a month ago while having morning donuts with my son which I do tues wed Friday every week a father came in made his order and then a few min later the son came in trying to exchange something she did wrong. she proceeded to argue with the boy for 3-4 min. before telling him his dad needed to come in so she could argue with him. then tried to justify it to me when I got noticeably upset. we didn't return for 3 weeks. until today. where we normally sit was dirty I asked if she could clean it or give me something to clean it. she came and picked the hair off the table then wiped it with a dry dirty cloth. I grabbed my stuff and left. I told her that we won't return because she doesn't seem to understand basic cleaning procedures and she's not a nice person when someone asks her to do something. $14.00 3 times a week adds up. I guess we'll be adding that to savings now. I'll make sure I come in and tell her mom since she's the owner. as far as a 3 chance it won't happen.

If i could i would give it 0 old lady always has an attitude and wants me to over pay because im using credit card manking spend over $8 and on top of all rhe kolaches are not fresh they look lile they seat there all morning and they just heat up discusting , i recommend pata donuts on 59 there always fresh and i can buy 1 kolache with debit card np

Terrible service, I went in to get maybe $10 worth this morning but I forgot my wallet so before I order I ask if they take zelle or venmo. They look at me and don't say a word, I have to ask 3 times. They acted like I was panhandling, all I did was ask a simple question. They spoke in their native tongue and said they have apple pay but I could try. They didn't know or want to try my payment and were speaking in their language until I said, "no worries, I won't ever come back to this $hit hole". I've bought donuts from there before and they're bland, I would rather buy from a small outfit than big chain stores but I'll never go back. Having Kolache Factory and Dunkin around the corner they made it easy for me.

I was lost went in asked for directions and they barely wanted to speak to me because I'm white. Even I quote said "sorry I can't help you because you're white" I replied crying please I'm lost I just want to go get my pregnant girls food back before it goes cold. I'll buy all your donut told me to get the fuck out of his store z:( never go here)
