"Hubby and I are new to the area and stopped in try the Brisket and Ribs. Both were so good!! Moist, meaty and melt in your mouth. Service was awesome and friendly. Thank you."
"The food is amazing! The staff is very friendly and they love the food they serve! It is some of the best BBQ and fixings I've ever had! My tongue is still slapping my forehead it's THAT GOOD!"
1/3 lb. turkey with melted cheddar and jalapeno cheese on a large bun with chives and ranch dressing served with jalapeno pepper. Excellent!

"I usually don't have a reason to be in Rosenberg, but as we were in town to go to a wrestling show, we saw this place existed.Least favorite thing - gravel parking lot.Aside from that, the restaurant gave the impression it was a tiny hut of a place. Once you look to your left, you see the sneakily hidden eating area.I enjoyed the bar b que sandwich and macaroni and cheese. I wish they had pepper...maybe I missed it. I felt it was scrumptious and filling. Things that were nice to see was that they were great with customer service and many patrons who went there for the same reasons I did, kept remarking how much they loved the place and how much they enjoyed the service. I didn't need help from the staff, but personally I like going to restaurants and people watch happy customers. And to see 2 different groups rave is impressive.Definitely come here if you're in the Rosenberg area."
"Small little hole in the wall place...well actually a small little building but with some of the best bbq ever. I love coming here and just eating whatever I want. This place has some good tasting bbq and the plates are well served. From the meats to the sides everything has such a real good taste. The kind of food that you eat and you just want to eat some more simply for the fact that is was so good and tasty...I mean the kind of taste that leaves you wanting more."
"Nice little hole in wall. We stopped here after dropping my son off at Texas State. Brisket quesadillas were on point. Good bbq sauce but need more of it. Good green chili ranch sauce. Fries were excellent! My son had pulled pork sandwich combo. Should be served with coleslaw and pickles and jalepenos on the sandwich. Quality of meat is great. Good smoke. They let you BYOB from liquor store next door, which I did. The folks were nice, service was good. My son will be going here often for good food at good price. He will like the brisket grilled cheese and brisket nachos... Check this place out next time you are in quaint San Marcos!"
"Waking distance from the Hampton, but don't do it. Typical Texas barbecue joint. Order at the counter and collect your tray at the end. I had the special with ribs, sausage, and brisket. Just great. I will look for hot sauce next time, as the provided sauce was tasty, but medium heat. Sides of potato salad and baked beans were very good. Additional complimentary bar with pickles. Onions. Salsa available. I mixed the sals with my beans and it was heavenly. Only down side is the location( convenient for I35, but scary), and the interior not updated since 1974."
"We visited on a Sunday morning right at 11am to get the delicious looking Dino ribs!Boy! Did they come through with tasting even better than the picture looked! They were so meaty, juicy, tender, and fell right off the bone. The sausage was also very good, the meat was the perfect texture with a good snap on the skin. The chopped bbq sandwich was a hefty, full of meat sandwich with so much flavor. The sides were got were potato salad - it was so creamy and really good and the mac n cheese - I could have bathed in it, it was so good! Cheesy and creamy, not dry at all! Don't forget the banana pudding, you'll regret it! The owner was super nice and very friendly, as well as the woman taking our order. Overall- highly recommend, great experience! The weather was perfect to sit outside. Love that it's covered with plenty of parking and places to sit."
"We came on a weeknight for an early birthday dinner. TR was able to accommodate our party of 7 with an additional high chair for my baby nephew. I liked the booth seating here for a more private experience. Shoutout goes to our waiter, Erick, who provided such great customer service to our table. He checked up on us often and refilled our bread and drinks. He also communicated with us when our entrees would be arriving. He did this all with enthusiasm and a smile. So, my family and I definitely appreciated this. Thank you, Erick! As for our food, they were all good. I think the only outlier was the bbq chicken my SIL ordered. The chicken itself was dry and the sauce too sweet. Otherwise, here's a breakdown of the other items on their menu: Complimentary bread (5/5): I love these dinner rolls. Just their glistening appearance when they arrived to our table was beautiful. The rolls were soft and delicious. They were sooo good with their cinnamon whipped butter. I had to eat two of them, at least. Well, I didn't have to, but I wanted to. Lol. Frozen margarita (4/5): I forgot to take a picture. But, I really enjoyed my margarita drink. It had an ample amount of salt on the rim and the cup was huge. This is not different from other margaritas I've had. But, it was delicious and gave me just the right amount of buzz. Safe to say, I drank all of it. Lol. Blooming cactus (4/5): Everyone enjoyed this appetizer. We thought the onion was cooked well and the batter not too heavy. It was a bit salty, though. But, it was still good. My lil bro said this was better than the blooming onion at Outback Steakhouse.Chili (4/5): I really enjoyed this chili with onions and cheese. I think it tasted bean-less, which I preferred. This reminded me a lot of the Zippy's chili in Hawaii from my childhood. I would recommend this as one of the sides that come with the steak entree.Loaded baked potato (4/5): Yummy. Normally, I don't really like sour cream. But, in this potato, it was yummy mixed in with the cheese and bacon. This was definitely worth the additional charge as a side that came along with my steak. FYI - You get two sides with the steak entree. Forth Worth Ribeye (14 oz) (4/5): I've had this steak before at another TR and loved it. So, of course I'd order it again. My family all ordered the same steak too. Lol. It was cooked to medium rare and had that beautiful charbroiled flavor. I did add sautéed mushrooms and onions to my steak this time around, which was delicious. But, I found it did make my steak a bit saltier than I'd like. Next time, I think I'll just order my steak sans the mushrooms/onions. Overall, my family and I had a great food and customer service experience at this TR location. We will be back. Come check them out as well."
"Some friends and I decided to try this place after reading the reviews and someone from the Jersey Barn said we needed to go here too. So glad we did!! The food is delicious! I had the smash burger, my friend had loaded fries with I believe it was brisket, other friend had the back porch sandwich and my husband had the smash burger as well. They were delicious!! We all ate everything off our plates. Then to top it off we shared a banana pudding. I would definitely come back here!"
"Surprising little gem in the Foodie Trucks Park in Katy on Fry Road. A BBQ joint with great ribs, jerk chicken, and wait for it... birria tacos?? Umm yes please. Tacos were fantastic, sides were great. Owner was kind and courteous. Definitely recommend."
"This is a tricky review. I'm spoiled by some of the best bbq in Texas being near my house, but I was in Corpus for work and this was 3 minutes from my hotel. The atmosphere and inside are 10/10. Such a good looking place with tons of seating. No sticky booths, very well kept. The sliced brisket was pretty average, and the sides were forgettable. However, the plate of meat and two sides was $13 with brisket. At one of the top rated bbq places I mentioned, you'd pay $13 just for the meat. Getting a whole meal with no line was just what I needed in between meetings. It's a very good value, and I'd return if staying nearby."
"Spacious with plenty of seating. They have a section where you place your order, at the counter. This place has no AC. After placing our order, we were offered to dine in at the adjacent building that does have AC. We were taking our food to go, so it made no difference to us. They also offer drive through service. For those dining in, simply sit and the food comes to you. I liked that they had complementary shelled peanuts. I ordered a large loaded baked potato. Brisket was great. I also ordered a small mack n cheese to taste it. Didn't care for the mac n cheese. I will definitely be coming back to try more things from their large menu choices."

Food was so good. We each had different items. BBQ plate was hugh and delicious. Mac-&-cheese not too good. It was runny sauce. I had a BBQ sandwich and it was juicy and tasty! The last plate was a poor boy and he enjoyed it also. I'm overall place was clean.

Great hole in the wall barbecue place and the hungry man deal is at incredible value. Open somewhat late as well which is super convenient. The food is always incredible thought the sausage can be a bit inconsistent but suppliers do be like that though. Not worth losing a star for such a minor issue, and staff is always helpful when providing sauce/silverware/etc.

If you like authentic barbecue , you better try it out. I got the Jonny's special which is a sample of everything and beans and potato salad. Off the beaten path , which I always look for. Can't beat this place.

The complimentary bread rolls with the honey & cinnamon spread is so good! We got the shrimp appetizer. I've tried the blooming' onion and rattlesnake bites before. Both were tasty! My mom got the 8 oz strip, and I got the smothered chicken with mash potatoes. I liked my dish and would order again. I've tried the herb crusted chicken which was a bit burnt but I enjoyed it. I would like to order the herb crusted chicken again. The sides were ok, nothing too special. I have had the mash potatoes, fries, and corn. Staff is always very nice and helpful each time I went. The restaurant itself is spacious, and there are always guests it seems. At the end, there is a free bag of peanuts to take home. Pretty cool!

"Found this place on Yelp and ratings looked great so we decided to check it out. My father ordered the three meat plate Brisket, Sausage and Ribs. I ordered the fully loaded baked potato. Let me tell you the size of the plates were huge! Especially for the price it was great! The food was so delicious. Literally the best BBQ I have had anywhere. This place is a hidden gem! The meat was literally falling apart it was so tender. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone the food is amazing! The place is so cute as well. They have outside seating with a little covered area. Great place to take family and they also serve beer. Like I said this place is great and the food is the best for BBQ that I have ever tasted and I have ate a ton of BBQ places and this is the best in my opinion so far. Will definitely be going back great prices and delicious food."
"Was passing through Gonzales and decided to stop for bbq. Arrived about 230p and place was empty, must have just missed the lunch rush. The bbq smell when walking in was mesmerizing. Staff greeted us as we walked in. I got the 2 meat plate with brisket and pork loin with 2 sides of potato salad and green beans. Brisket was cooked perfectly, fork tender and juicy. Pork loin was just okay, as were green beans. Potato salad was creamy with a great mayo and dill pickle flavor. When in area will definitely stop again and try the sausage and ribs."
"I met a friend at Polak's Sawsage Farm Restaurant for lunch. We had a lovely time. The waitress was attentive but not hovering over us. We each had the special. She had baked chicken and it looked wonderful. I had fried catfish. Both came with potatoes, green beans and stewed okra. I had hush puppies and she had a roll. The catfish was perfectly fried as well as the hush puppies. The potatoes, green beans and okra were fresh and delicious. The price was great, the total was less than $20.00 for both of our meals together. I highly recommend Polak's."
"I love bbq. Coming from Kansas City, I have my preferences and let me say that they delivered here. Their brisket is a must. Whether it's on nachos or just the combo, it's delicious. I will say the combo with two sides you only get 2 slices of brisket so eat slowly and savor, but it's yummy. The brisket nachos were flavorful- pinto beans seasoned, pico nice and spicy, and all topped with a dollop of sour cream. Tex Mex at its finest. The potato salad was also yummy. It's brightness with its dill and mayo was delightful. The only thing that didn't deliver was the Mac and cheese. The flavor fell flat but that is just a personal preference. I would want more dimension. The noodles were over cooked. Try the others! The staff was friendly and the place was super clean and spacious. Lots of tvs for sports! Would definitely come back!"
"Delicious! Good smoked BBQ paired with hometown friendly service. We stopped here on our way home from the beach and it was the best food on our trip! It's an airy location with lots of outdoor seating. I had the brisket sandwich. My husband had the two meat combo with ribs and brisket. He had plenty of leftovers. Big portions here are another plus! Trust me it's worth the 15 minutes detour to swing by this super yummy place. We will definitely be back!"
"This has always been my number one place for bbq and always will be. My go to is the bbq sandwich and potato salad and pecan pie."
"Ok, brisket here is the real deal. Needs no sauce, although their homemade stuff is quite good. Perfect combination of smoke, tenderness, aroma, color and bark. Warms back up days later, just good as fresh. And THAT is one of the true tests of good brisket."
"I had not eaten at Beef and Bun since before the pandemic, and I was in the area (and hungry). I am happy to report that the food just as great as I remembered! I had the ribs and my dining companion had the baked potato topped chopped beef. We were both extremely happy with our meals!"
"Great brisket. Beans were mid level. Sauce was mid level. Looking forward to trying the St Louis Ribs only available after 5:30 p.m."
"Daddy Duncan's has some of the best bbq. The chicken is so good but our all time favorite is the Dr Pepper oxtails! They are so tender and flavorful! If you're in the area you have to check them out!"
"Love this place! The food is amazing! Just smelling and looking at their food makes my mouth water! They did a fantastic job at enforcing social distancing rules and regulations while still having impeccable service! Everyone in line and in the food truck wore masks! I think it would be helpful to provide hand sanitizer considering that multiple people use the iPad, credit card scanner, and pick their own drinks from an ice chest. The lady that took my order did an excellent job explaining the menu to me which made my experience super convenient and efficient! I highly recommend ordering the Holy Mac! This menu item has macaroni topped with brisket and barbecue sauce! As a Texan and someone who grew up on bbq, I give this place 5/5 stars!"
"Not to be confused with Bill Millers (headquartered out of San Antonio, and a South Texas BBQ staple), Miller's Bar-B-Q consistently serves up some amazing smoked meats.I have never had a bad experience here. Brisket is always moist and juicy. Turkey, chicken and pork loin is never dry. And they almost always have beef ribs! It is rare for a barbecue place to have beef ribs during the week. They mostly employ teenagers and young folks to run the counters and take orders. They are always super nice."
"Food was amazing. Best sausage in Caldwell county. Going to keep coming back. My family new BBQ Sunday spot"
"OmWow!! This Food truck is perfectly named. Max is a Mad BBQ making machine!! I can't wait to have MadMax cater our Holiday Texas Styled event!! Ribs, Sausage, Brisket were all perfectly BBQ'ed. Potato salad was not runny or tasteless. It was plump and full of flavor and omg the beans with the meat inside was so delicious! Slices of bread was not soggy at all! I can't wait to to try their mac and cheese and their chili cheese fries (off the menu) for the event!! Future rating update to commence!! Pictures attached for your pleasure!! Thank you for the accommodations Max!"
"Their $9 whole smoked chicken on Wednesdays is definitely a steal, and the Family Pack #1 is a great value for feeding a group (which is what we were doing). It's no surprise that my husband and our family were impressed with their BBQ - their reputation for being one of the best in the area speaks for itself. Brisket DAMN soo good. There was no meat we didn't try and they all were excellent. My daughter thought the Turkey would be dry but, nope...#delicious. If you're ever in San Marcos or if you have friends visiting who want to experience excellent Texas BBQ, I highly recommend checking out San Marcos BBQ. You won't be disappointed! We never are."
"Nothing fancy. Small restaurant. Clean. Super friendly staff. I have stopped in 2 times while traveling South, for to go BBQ. Since trying to do keto, ordering the meat by weight was the best option for me. They have an extensive menu of sandwiches and BBQ plates too though. The price point for meat by weight was very reasonable. I have had the sliced brisket, cajun turkey and sausage link. All flavorful, tasty, tender, fresh tasting and juicy. I couldn't believe how juice the sausage link was! And its big! They have a little "gift store" available to browse while you wait for your order, with a lot of hand made gifts available for purchase. I have yet to use the restroom here, but everything else was very clean."
"I was tempted to give them just 4 stars since their barbecue didn't quite meet the same level of deliciousness as their Columbus location (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mikeskas-bar-b-q-columbus#hrid:m1bQJ1cgxLMBdv-887V6fw), but after trying their jerky, I just can't bring myself to do it. We ended up getting the peppered turkey jerky and I kid you not--the best jerky I've had in my life. The jerky is made of some great, chunky slices of turkey and is nice and spicy in the back of the throat. The meat has that nice chewiness that you expect from jerky without being rock hard (I hate worrying if I'm going to lose a tooth by gnawing on some good jerky!)--all part of the appeal. The ribs were really, really good, but just not as life changing as the Columbus location. The meat was incredibly tender, but I just felt like the seasoning was a bit off. This location is enormous and with plenty to choose from. We also walked away with some cheese bread and poppy seed bread--both of which were phenomenal. You could tell it was freshly made and it took quite a bit of self restraint not to gobble it all down immediately.Since this is on the road to visiting the in-laws, I have a feeling that this will be our staple stop on the 7 hour drive. They have all the stuffed animals around, though it isn't as overwhelming as the Columbus store, mostly because of the size of this place. If you're not in cammo, expect to feel a little out of place here."
"First things first, Koop's is a local favorite and is only open for lunch 11am-3pm Tue-Sat, get there early or you're guaranteed to stand in line or not have your first choice in what you want to eat. They were out of several things by the time we arrived at noon. Upon entering, you will find plenty of seating, clean bathrooms (with hot water to wash your hands!!!), and wonderful aromas! The gentleman that took our order was patient, informative and friendly. He said their most popular sides were the mac 'n cheese and the baked beans. I opted for a two meat (brisket and smoked sausage) platter with Brussels sprouts and beans. My other dining companions opted for a one meat (ribs) platter both with mac n cheese, one with baked beans and the other the potato salad. Let me start with the brisket, simply phenomenal! Legit melted in my mouth and the smoke and flavor was so delicious! The ribs were extremely flavorful and tender also. No bbq sauce needed for either meat! The smoked sausage was decent also, not as special as the brisket. Now let's chat sides, le sigh, let me also preface this statement by saying I don't believe I have ever been to a bbq joint or smoke house where the meat AND the sides were comparable. The same remained true at Koop's. All of our sides accompanied their meats fine enough but left a lot to be desired. They have a policy where if you rub the hog or something and don't like your side they will get you another. We chose not to do that.We did have a very upbeat and friendly conversation with one team member who informed us that we can bring beer in next time. One of my dining companions mentioned he was bummed they were out of nachos. The team member stated that they make their chips from scratch and are one of their most popular dishes and described the brisket queso they also make. Needless to say my dining mate made arrangements to return the next day for these fantastic sounding nachos. Long (er) story short, my dining mate picked up the nachos and they were nothing like described by the team member or depicted on their social media. That was a major letdown."
"Really great local spot for good bbq. I also noticed that the manager really works with the young employees. He teaches them customer service skills that will benefit them well into the future."
"food is delicious. service is friendly. tastes authentic. would highly recommend the fried chicken plate."
"The stuffed baked potato I ordered came out fast, hot, and PERFECT!....and the service was excellent. The young lady working the counter was so courteous and prompt. My only regret is....I inhaled WAY too many calories in one sitting. I ate the entire potato and that thing was gigantic! Oh well, life goes on..."
"I wanted some Bar BQ so I looked for a place while on the way home. Martinez BBQ popped up and I got 2 plates toGo. Fantastic BBQ. This place is just a one man stand that is expanding. The meat was all juicy and tender and delicious. The beans and potato salad was really good. I was surprised and pleased to no end. I will definitely make this my go to place from now on when I want BBQ. It would even be worth the drive from Moulton to Waelder to pick it up. Nothing fancy. Just great BBQ"
"This is a nice, well run, neighborhood barbecue place. It's lasted quite a while in this location. I can barely even remember the restaurant that was there before hand. I crave their Chopped Beef loaded baked potato! Their Ribs are delicious, and they even have a weekly AYCE Rib special. They have a fresh salad bar available as an addition to your meal. There is a good assortment for f homemade sides to select from for your entrées. The Creamed Corn, and Fried Okra are my favorites -- though I find Mom's Potato Salad a bit too oniony. On my most recent visit, I tried the Wednesday Special...a plate full of 12 large breaded fried shrimp with two sides. I definitely didn't need the salad! I barely could finish my meal. I was taken aback by how spicy the hush puppies were. I wasn't expecting that. But there seems to be chunks of jalapeño in the batter.(Normally when I order a BBQ dish, hush puppies aren't on the plate.)If you're dining with friends, you can customize a bucket of ice cold beers."
