"I have to say that as many times as I've been here, I still thoroughly enjoy their food. The moist brisket is delicious and has an overall great flavor that I prefer. I also enjoy that they serve pork belly here as it's a great porky addition to have. Add in that their sides are full of flavor and can be a difficult choice to choose between when ordering. The employees greet you as you walk in and are very friendly and helpful."
"Tried the 4 meat plate $31. Links, ribs, briskett, pork loin. Got it wet but should have done dry. Meats were top notch, pork loin a bit dry. Tried several sides - all very good. Process to order, pay and sit is cumberson. Small parking lot."
Gluten-Free. Each bone is nine inches long with about two inches of flavorful marbled beef piled on top. Each rib will weigh about one pound. Priced per pound. (On average one rib is 1 1/2 lbs in weight.)

"I usually don't have a reason to be in Rosenberg, but as we were in town to go to a wrestling show, we saw this place existed.Least favorite thing - gravel parking lot.Aside from that, the restaurant gave the impression it was a tiny hut of a place. Once you look to your left, you see the sneakily hidden eating area.I enjoyed the bar b que sandwich and macaroni and cheese. I wish they had pepper...maybe I missed it. I felt it was scrumptious and filling. Things that were nice to see was that they were great with customer service and many patrons who went there for the same reasons I did, kept remarking how much they loved the place and how much they enjoyed the service. I didn't need help from the staff, but personally I like going to restaurants and people watch happy customers. And to see 2 different groups rave is impressive.Definitely come here if you're in the Rosenberg area."
"I don't usually eat Texas barbecue but when in Texas I have to and let me tell you Black's Barbecue did not disappoint! We got the fatty beef brisket, jalapeno-cheese sausage and pork spare ribs to share. Everything was soo tender, juicy and just so good! For sides we got the potato salad, mac and cheese and cream corn. The sides went perfectly with the meat. I also love how you can grab your own onions, pickles and bread because I'm an onion girlie and need a whole lot haha. The workers were very welcoming and friendly and it's a big place with a nice and chill vibe. I know there's many barbecue places here in Texas but I think Black's Barbeque is definitely worth a try!"
"Well damn where have I been !!Got the brisket bbq baked potato and WOW !Great taste Great polite service Cool rustic feel to the place Come and get it !!"
"We were in the area and decided to use Yelp to find some good food when we came across raving reviews of this BBQ place. We opted for takeout here, which honestly felt like the only choice. They have a drive-in setup like Sonic, but you still have to grab your food from inside to eat in the car. So, we took our meal home. The cashier was really nice and patient with us. We ordered two loaded potatoes topped with brisket and a side of ribs. The potatoes were delicious, but they were missing the sour cream and chives I'm used to--just a little something that would have made them perfect for me. The ribs were tasty and definitely fall-off-the-bone tender, though the rub felt dry and was a bit different from what I'm used to. Still good overall. As many reviews mentioned, the entrance is a bit dingy, which made me a bit wary walking in. Customers can't see past the cashier counter, but I checked the health ratings and inspections, and they were excellent past and recent. Maybe they're saving money on appearance. Regardless, I'm not worried about it based on inspection results and definitely plan to return to try more menu items--or especially when I get a craving for a loaded baked potato!"
"We've been gone for several years and moving back we kept seeing posts that Texas Pride was no longer good and had completely changed. Let me tell you this couldn't be further from the truth and the food was excellent, service was fast and the atmosphere screams Texas BBQ. Don't listen to the haters, this is the best BBQ in the area. Brisket is tender and moist, Turkey flavor is excellent, and the peach cobbler is to die for! If you want authentic Texas BBQ, this is it!!!!!"
"Great service and great food. My wife and I went there for our anniversary. It was well worth it."
"Will always love this place. Delicious every time. Get there early because they do run out of meat!!"
"Best BBQ in New Braunfels area- A Must-Try!We moved to the area seven months ago, eager to experience authentic Texas BBQ. Unfortunately, our experiences have mostly been disappointing, with places often serving BBQ that's too salty, dry, overpriced, or lacking in seasoning. We tried the 5 top-rated BBQ joints in New Braunfels area, but none compared to Bare Bull BBQ.Bare Bull BBQ is a true smokehouse! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of wood fire sets the tone for an amazing meal. The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming. We ordered the three-meat sampler, which included brisket, burnt ends, and chicken, while my husband opted for the brisket sandwich. Every bite was delicious--the meat was juicy with perfect bark marks. The sides were equally impressive, and the meal was perfectly finished with their banana pudding. What's more, the prices are incredibly reasonable--half the cost of Black's BBQ. Bare Bull BBQ has definitely earned our business, and we will be back!Photos doesn't do any justice, just go try it!"
"This was recommended by one of my husband's coworkers and we thought we'd try it out. It was delicious and did not disappoint! The Bulgogi was perfectly marinated, although it was a little too sweet for my liking but it was still good. For sides I chose the kimchi and the macaroni salad. Simple yet yummy side dishes. The kimchi hasn't had time to ferment and get sour, still tastes fresh and crisp which I didn't mind because it was still so good! The Mac salad I could probably eat all the time, it wasn't too crazy on seasonings. Literally just macaroni, Mayo, and pepper from what it tasted. My husband got the spicy pork Bulgogi and he sincerely enjoyed it! It was spicy enough for him to still enjoy because we've had experience where we would get something spicy and it was to the point of not be able enjoyable. The dumpling were okay for what they were. Nothing too spectacular.Overall, we would come here again! Yummy food for a decent price. We also had leftovers!"
"LOVE this bbq. The brisket, the ribs, and most of the sides are on point. Pro tip: Jalapeño/cheddar sausage isn't on the menu but they serve it until they run out. Try the sweet potato side and the mac n cheese. while the mac is a little peppery it's delicious."

Great BBQ! Had the fatty brisket, turkey and ribs. We also had potato salad, mashed potatoes and beans. Didn't care for the pimentos in the potato salad but the mashed potatoes and beans were very flavorful!

I'm not in Michigan anymore. I came straight here from the airport while on business. My friend said it was a must. Boy, it did not disappoint. I got the 2 meat lunch special and had them give me their most loved items. Sausage and brisket. Amazing. Enough food for three people. My sides included Mac and cheese, banana pudding and potato's. Stop here!!! Fill up the tank

If you're craving some seriously good Texas BBQ, Black's BBQ is the place to go. This spot has been around for ages and it shows--they've mastered the art of smoking meat. The brisket is always on point--super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The pork ribs are just as good, with that perfect, melt-off-the-bone texture. The sides are solid, too. Whether it's the creamy mac and cheese, tasty potato salad, or the tangy coleslaw, they've got the perfect balance to go with all that meaty goodness.Black's BBQ is great for families, locals, and tourists alike. It's got that laid-back vibe where you know the food is going to be great every time. If you're in the area, definitely check it out--you can't go wrong.

The older ice was very quick and there was no wait to get our food. The brisket and chicken were amazing but the pork ribs were dry in my opinion. The portions are also a little smaller than most other bbq spots. The sides were great, thought. There was plenty of seating mid-day Thursday. I would recommend if you're on the go and next to the airport, but I've had better bbq in Texas before

Found another east side gem! This place is amazing! The building outside looks like a Sonic with the drive up coverings. I ordered a one meat plate with ribs. My partner ordered a brisket sandwich. Both choices are delicious. The service was excellent. The attention used to make customers feel special and appreciated is top of the line. Will be coming back for my bbq fix.

I hesitate to write bad reviews. My motto is, unless something is egregious, don't make waves. Off the top of my head, I *might* have two other one-star reviews in the entire time I've been on Yelp--which is a long dang time. So that being said, I had to write this to give folks a heads-up.We drove out to the Texas Pride BBQ from the Medical Center area because my husband had heard really good things about them on KENS 5. It seemed interesting, so my husband, my stepson and I took a little trip to the opposite side of town. Everything at first seemed great; the service was good, and the meat looked and tasted good, too. It was also a cute (big) place. And then every single one of us got food poisoning the next day. My husband and stepson were first with the nausea, but were doing OK, with just a couple bouts of vomiting. I, on the other hand, spent about 12 hours hugging the porcelain throne, begging God to just end it, before my husband insisted that we go to the ER. Eventually they ADMITTED me to the dang Hospital because I was so bad off. Between the ER and Methodist, I was in the Hospital for two days because the food poisoning had triggered my first-ever gallstone attack. It's taken me a week to begin to feel normal again, and I will never, ever eat at Texas Pride Barbecue again.Be forewarned. Also, do yourselves a favor and check out some of the "42 reviews for Texas Pride Barbecue that are not currently recommended"

Firstly, the hotel is beautiful set on the bay with an uninstructed view.. the restaurant view was spectacular at night under a full moon like a movie set with the moonlight dancing on the water. The waitstaff was very friendly and very eager to bring us what we needed. Started with an excellent bottle of wine and some of the best oysters (Oysters Republic :Six Oysters Topped with Shiitake Mushrooms Capers, Spinach, Brandy Cream Reduction) deliciously prepared and plated beautifully. I had the Texas Bob White Quail (Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Pan Sauce ) deliciously buttery but not over cooked - quite moist and flavorful. For desert we had the salted caramel chocolate cake. Flavorful and decadent with a cup of coffee. It was a gorgeous evening and we enjoyed the meal and the restaurant experience.

"World's Finest is right! We stumbled upon Leon's during our quest for Texas BBQ. We walked in and were warmly greeted. Once seated, Leon came over to say hello and was quick to answer questions and allowed us to sample a couple of items we weren't sure about. He was a fun and genuine guy to talk to and knows how to ham it up with his guests. Our group ended up ordering the brisket, ribs and turkey. For sides we enjoyed the turnip greens, mac and cheese, rice and beans, BBQ beans, potato salad and coleslaw. Once the food came all you could hear from our table was lip smacking, finger licking, some mmm's and comments like "This is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had", " This is amazing", "This is so good". The meats were melt in your mouth tender. Knives were on the table, but they were not needed. The homemade heated BBQ sauce was incredible. Portion sizes were huge. We left with full bellies and full left over boxes for a later meal. It is a good thing we don't live in Texas, because Leon's would be a regular dining spot if we did and our waistlines could not handle that!"
"I just ran in here after a long day to get a turkey sandwich and potato salad It was great! I didn't stay to eat, so I'm not sure an the in house service or eating experience. I highly recommend the turkey sandwich on the buttery bun."
"Solid BBQ, food 4-4.5, cool little place - outdoor seating with and without fans where you can sit and enjoy the breeze blowing in the trees and the iglesia next door; pretty interesting sides one of our kiddos was sad about the lack of mac BUT we tasted the mustard potato salad (super tart to wake up those tastebuds), rice (so gooood), tater tot casserole (yes please), borracho beans (delicious) and one child got the green bean tomato fancy salad which disappeared too quickly for me to get a bite! The BBQ was decent, flavorful - ribs only on wknds so missed out on those, brisket taco was yummy, the chicken was tender and well-seasoned, the sausage was decent. Bathrooms are in the bldg and you need to ask just FYI.What made this place a 5 for us was the service - super friendly, super helpful. We had some car troubles and they let us sit on the patio while we waited for a tow and helped us stay hydrated. Solid option."
"Some friends and I decided to try this place after reading the reviews and someone from the Jersey Barn said we needed to go here too. So glad we did!! The food is delicious! I had the smash burger, my friend had loaded fries with I believe it was brisket, other friend had the back porch sandwich and my husband had the smash burger as well. They were delicious!! We all ate everything off our plates. Then to top it off we shared a banana pudding. I would definitely come back here!"
"Traditional (meaning great) Texas BBQ. Try their brisket and their BBQ baked potato is awesome. They are happy to sell you orders by the pound along with sides to take home."
"Location is not bad for being in a gas station (or having a gas station). Inside is very country. Feels like you in the back woods of TexasSadly, that's where the pleasantries end. The service was seemingly annoyed when I asked a questions about portion options. Presentation on the plate was simple and clean. The food itself is simply NOT good. The brisket is closer to jerky that something that's supposed to be supple and elastic. The sides were super bland and unimpressive. The BBQ sauce and then bread were okay. It's hard to think it would be dramatically different on a second visit but I may come back to try some options other than the brisket."
"Joe's Barbeque kept coming up on some of my local foodie pages on social media so I had to check it out for myself. I'm in Pearland, but Alvin is just a short drive through the country. I will say this is the first time I drove into Alvin for a meal. This is a huge building right off Hwy 6 that you can not miss. There is plenty of parking inside and lots of seating inside. It is one of those order in line and get your food type establishments. Customer service was excellent. I kept hearing about some of their AYCE specials they have, but when I got there, I decided on the 1lb Joe Burger with fries. My son decided on a BBQ sandwich. Both of our orders were massive. With a one pound burger, I was very pleased that it was seasoned through and through. It was a little hard to handle, but I got through it, but could not finish it all. The accompanying fries were cooked just right and tasty. You also have choices of steaks, sandwiches, BBQ, and seafood. There's something for everyone here.If only they were closer, I would come here more often. I love the homie, small town feel of this place. I would definitely come back if in the area."
"Their $9 whole smoked chicken on Wednesdays is definitely a steal, and the Family Pack #1 is a great value for feeding a group (which is what we were doing). It's no surprise that my husband and our family were impressed with their BBQ - their reputation for being one of the best in the area speaks for itself. Brisket DAMN soo good. There was no meat we didn't try and they all were excellent. My daughter thought the Turkey would be dry but, nope...#delicious. If you're ever in San Marcos or if you have friends visiting who want to experience excellent Texas BBQ, I highly recommend checking out San Marcos BBQ. You won't be disappointed! We never are."
"Don't be fooled by the building's exterior. Walk in,stand in line, place your order and then Dine on the best BBQ in SATX.The 2 meat platter is your best deal. The chopped brisket sandwich is stuffed between 2 slices of Texas toast. The sides were just as good but my stomach was full by the time I got to them.I suggest to arrive early or after the lunch crowd. The seating area is limited but I'm not here for a good seat. This BBQ "makes you want to slap yo momma"."
"We attended a neighborhood event that Big 6 catered. We're glad we went because Big 6 was very good and we got to meet a lot of our neighbors, very nice people. The brisket was very tender and oh so tasty, the sausage and the chicken drum stick was just as good, the beans and tater salad were very good. Now I need to visit their food trailer, they're bookmarked already."
"I love bbq. Coming from Kansas City, I have my preferences and let me say that they delivered here. Their brisket is a must. Whether it's on nachos or just the combo, it's delicious. I will say the combo with two sides you only get 2 slices of brisket so eat slowly and savor, but it's yummy. The brisket nachos were flavorful- pinto beans seasoned, pico nice and spicy, and all topped with a dollop of sour cream. Tex Mex at its finest. The potato salad was also yummy. It's brightness with its dill and mayo was delightful. The only thing that didn't deliver was the Mac and cheese. The flavor fell flat but that is just a personal preference. I would want more dimension. The noodles were over cooked. Try the others! The staff was friendly and the place was super clean and spacious. Lots of tvs for sports! Would definitely come back!"
"If you like smoked brisket or ribs with delicious sauce plus a cold coke or craft beer, this place is a must stop. We also had the smoked potato-- could not tell it was smoked but I loved the real butter and cheddar cheese. We enjoyed eating outside -- it was the perfect after church lunch stop. Probably need to go early to avoid a rush -- we went about 11:30 am and it was perfect"
"Very good chopped beef and peanut brittle. Great black bean salad. Killer okra. Typical bbq joint inside, nothing fancy but that's cool. The kids working the register are barely capable of running a cash register. Kind of annoying. But in the end the food is worth it."
"Some of the best smoked chicken I have ever had!!! This is better than my Dad's and that's my favorite dish of his. Haha it doesn't even need the sauce bc the flavor is so lovely! The green beans are delightful too. The prices are great. I will have sweet dreams of this chicken until next time. Yes, the tamales are bangin too, Great job!"
"Food was fabulous easy ordering and it's seat yourself the person at the counter was very helpful and all the items I picked were tasty"
"We came on a weeknight for an early birthday dinner. TR was able to accommodate our party of 7 with an additional high chair for my baby nephew. I liked the booth seating here for a more private experience. Shoutout goes to our waiter, Erick, who provided such great customer service to our table. He checked up on us often and refilled our bread and drinks. He also communicated with us when our entrees would be arriving. He did this all with enthusiasm and a smile. So, my family and I definitely appreciated this. Thank you, Erick! As for our food, they were all good. I think the only outlier was the bbq chicken my SIL ordered. The chicken itself was dry and the sauce too sweet. Otherwise, here's a breakdown of the other items on their menu: Complimentary bread (5/5): I love these dinner rolls. Just their glistening appearance when they arrived to our table was beautiful. The rolls were soft and delicious. They were sooo good with their cinnamon whipped butter. I had to eat two of them, at least. Well, I didn't have to, but I wanted to. Lol. Frozen margarita (4/5): I forgot to take a picture. But, I really enjoyed my margarita drink. It had an ample amount of salt on the rim and the cup was huge. This is not different from other margaritas I've had. But, it was delicious and gave me just the right amount of buzz. Safe to say, I drank all of it. Lol. Blooming cactus (4/5): Everyone enjoyed this appetizer. We thought the onion was cooked well and the batter not too heavy. It was a bit salty, though. But, it was still good. My lil bro said this was better than the blooming onion at Outback Steakhouse.Chili (4/5): I really enjoyed this chili with onions and cheese. I think it tasted bean-less, which I preferred. This reminded me a lot of the Zippy's chili in Hawaii from my childhood. I would recommend this as one of the sides that come with the steak entree.Loaded baked potato (4/5): Yummy. Normally, I don't really like sour cream. But, in this potato, it was yummy mixed in with the cheese and bacon. This was definitely worth the additional charge as a side that came along with my steak. FYI - You get two sides with the steak entree. Forth Worth Ribeye (14 oz) (4/5): I've had this steak before at another TR and loved it. So, of course I'd order it again. My family all ordered the same steak too. Lol. It was cooked to medium rare and had that beautiful charbroiled flavor. I did add sautéed mushrooms and onions to my steak this time around, which was delicious. But, I found it did make my steak a bit saltier than I'd like. Next time, I think I'll just order my steak sans the mushrooms/onions. Overall, my family and I had a great food and customer service experience at this TR location. We will be back. Come check them out as well."
"Good I mean very good bbq chicken and great service Mesquite Smoked BBQ Plate - 2 Meats"
"Tried to go eat there but the parking g lot was full. Waited around for like 10 minutes but the parking situation was horrible. On a positive they seemed very popular"
"food is delicious. service is friendly. tastes authentic. would highly recommend the fried chicken plate."
"We came out to a nursery in the area and the bf decided he wanted to find a good place to eat! Old Bucs came up and the reviews were pretty fabulous for a bbq joint out in the middle of nowhere, so we decided to give it a try. Super surprised they had a drive thru!!! Bbq that you can get without getting out of your vehicle?! Yes please!! Welp, for this reason there wasn't any photos of the actual bbq :) But if you want to take my word for it, it was cheaper than in the city and it was fantastic! Good smoke, tender, amazing flavors!! It was one of those pleasantly surprised moments where the bf looks at you and goes.. Mmm Mmmm Mmmmm... you have to try this! He was a happy camper! We are glad we stopped by!"
"Texas Monthly did a piece on this hidden gem recently. Saw the article that morning, pulled up that afternoon. The place sits in a old shopping strip and that might discourage anybody. Once you get through that, the magic begins. Anyplace that has ready pagers and a consistent flow of patrons has to be the real deal! The food and the ambiance is a mismatch! The haul:Spicy two link boudin stuffed. (Yeah you read it right!) drink and chips. Sausage with beans and dirty rice. (Also two drinks and two deserts from Mama Mims. More on that later)Understand this. If you would have told me that two boudin links could be split open and stuffed with chopped beef brisket, cheese, chives and sour cream in a baked potato container could work???? I would have called flag on the play. But naaaaaaw! This dish is like one of the greatest things I have ever tasted! The boudin has a great spice level. Might be a bit too much for some, but great for me. The toppings almost made me believe I was eating a baked potato. The combo is a hit! Even the sausage plate was fresh and homemade. Nothing frozen. Made to order. Just how we all like it! Mow Mama Mias is a separate entity from the restaurant, but that peach cobbler and that strawberry cheesecake was fire as well! Basically, sometimes you have to go to the hole in the wall to get some of the best food sometimes. Wort a trip to the S.W.A.T to see the truth!Texas Monthly did a piece on this hidden gem recently. "Good food with nice size portions I like the wings rib ends the most so far. Will go back again to try other item. Also the the wings were large that's a plus"
"Craving for good Texas BBQ and Lulling BBQ doesn't disappoint. I don't know what happened with folks came before me. The service was awesome. Everyone was friendly. The meat just melted off the bones. Sausage is not overly salty like that mega gas station chain. They are definitely much better than the one in Houston where I had to stand in line during the lunch time to get in. You know what I am referring to."
